The North: A Vampire in the Dark

Somewhere deep in northern Europe, somewhere near the border of Finland, there is a legend. They speak of a mysterious vampire that appears at night, infecting the humans with a strange disease. It causes them to transform into superhuman clones of themselves, but they are short lived: they age and die in moments.

The city, though small, is a warm and welcoming community, and its priest, a well-meaning, friendly and clumsy man named Cain Nightroad, is well known for his kind and pacifistic ways.

However, whispers among the townspeople recently suggest that the priest is this dreaded vampire.

Either way, the Black Order has responded to a call from the Vatican, and now mobilized a few Exorcists for the investigation.

"So," said Komui dramatically, flourishing his arms, "now you know! The legend of the dreaded vampire~!"

The Exorcists rolled their eyes. Sure, he had a bad acting skill, but this was beyond bad.

"All right! Move out already!" Cried Komui suddenly, apparently offended at their lack of interest in his acting.

- Arystar Krory will be accompanying the Exorcists and can be RPed with. He can fight the Vampire but not the Noah or the created Akuma Characters

Along with Annabel and Kro-chan, Takeshi got into the train and seated with them. Hei, Rexus and Crescent were taking another train, so Takeshi and the others would meet with them in Finland, and then move north as a group.

"What's our mission again?" Annabell said, clearly bored as the train started to move.

"We're going to a small city in the north of Finland and investigate a case about a vampire. It seems this 'vampire' can create clones, that only live for a while." Said Kro-chan.

"And the townfolks believe that their priest, Cain Nightroad is the vampire. We go there, investigate and if we can, stop the trouble." Takeshi added.

"I see." Annabell said, still bored.

Takeshi patted Annabell. "Don't worry, just take a nap, we should be there once you wake up."

As Annabell went to sleep, Takeshi got up and went to the mini-restaurant in the train to get some food.

"What is that book you're reading? "The other World"??" asked Rexus.

They were in the train at the moment, together with Hei, who sat in front of them. And his partner, Crescent who loves books were sitting on his side.

"Yeah. This is the book left by my family. It tells about creatures and ghost," replied Crescent as his eyes were still sticking to the book. They need to search for some information before they start the mission.

"Whatever...," sighed Rexus "Isn't that vampire is a storybook character?"

"Nope. Actually vampire was the name of a man who likes to kill people. Well, that's what I read from the book..." and then he continued reading his book in silence while the train kept moving to the north.

[Ryuzaki]

"Ugh... What to do, what to do...." Chris dragged himself along the small path ahead of him waiting for someone to give him proper orders about this next assignment.

"Where's Xavier-sama I wonder? I heard that he is suppose to be the Noah who will accompany that Cain man." He looked around to see if anyone was near him. "I wonder how that man could be anyways..." Appearing from the shadows an unfamiliar face stood next to Christopher.

"Wh-who are you.......!?" Chris looked shocked at the sudden appearance of a stranger.

"I'm the guy who you were just talking to yourself about..." The man looked happily at Chris with a wide grin. "You can call me Cain."

"She's still sleeping?" "Yeah, should I wake her up?"

Takeshi has come back from exploring the train and getting some food, and he has left Kro-chan with Annabell, who fall asleep soon after their trip started.

"Yeah wake her up, we're almost there." Takeshi replied, getting all their stuff ready as Kro-chan woke Annabell.

After getting out of the train and the station, the group looked for an inn to stay while they waited for the other group. Takeshi left a dragon in the station to inform him when the next group arrive and to take them to the inn.

"What about this one?" Annabell said, pointing to a big house with the words INN on the door. It looked warm and nice, with a nice smell coming from inside. It seemed this inn had a great chef.

"Why not?" Takeshi replied. They were there on request from the Vatican, surely they'll pay for it. Takeshi went inside, Kro-chan and Annabell following him. After getting a room and going inside, they came down to get some dinner. Since Takeshi already ate in the train, he decided he would explore the town.

Going out, he found some kids playing around with a ball and their feet. Heh, what kind of game is that. Takeshi thought, walking along. He came around many shops trying to sell him stuff like toys, weapons, items and other useless stuff. One man wanted to sell him a 'phoenix down', which was said to bring back to 'life' anyone who have fallen in the party. What the hell is this, are we in some kind of fantasy story, Takeshi thought to himself.

After passing one such store, however, a loud noise was heard. Takeshi quickly drew his sword and blocked the the bullet. A level 1 akuma appeared, getting ready to fight again, but it was too slow for Takeshi who jumped and cut it down before it could do anything. 2 more akumas appeared, and once again Takeshi cut them down. Fearing for Annabell and Kro-chan, Takeshi ran abck to the inn.

"It's...safe.." Takeshi exclaimed after getting close enough to see the inn.

"Maybe they just happened to be here, and there aren't any akumas following us. Just in case though..." Takeshi summoned a few dragons and sent them to search the town for anymore akumas. After they finished he got them in a 40 meters radius from the inn, thus trying to prevent an ambushed. After this was done he went back inside to talk with Annabell and Kro-chan.

"Have some please?" asked Rexus, offering a bowl of takoyaki to Hei, who accepted it and ate it in silence. Crescent was sleeping soundly on his seat at the moment.

"Heh, he sleeps like a cat," said Rexus. Hearing him saying "cat", Venus ears were immediately twitching and
he peeked his head to Rexus, as if he wanted to say that "of course, he was my master after all."

Not long after that, the captain's voice was heard all over the train, telling them that the train was going to stop soon. They woke up Crescent and prepared their lugages.
As they stepped to the station, a dragon of Takeshi was seen clearly from the crowds. It was getting many attantions from the passer-by.

"Haha, the dragon is a good attraction. Maybe we should put signs in front of it, to collect money?" joked Rexus "What do you think, Hei?"

A few minutes' walk outside the entrance to town

"Hello there Chris, I'm the guy who you were just talking to yourself about..." The man looked happily at Chris with a wide grin. "You can call me Cain."

"Oh, so you're that-" Chris was excited, finally he was getting somewhere!

"Shush, Chris," Cain's smile never left his face - not that it reached his eyes - "I don't want you talking about that. I do, however, have a small request for you. Please, if it is at all possible, do stall this Exorcists a little. Do not fight them outright, just delay them a little."

He made his polite speech sound as though he said, quite clearly, "do it, or I will tear you in two."

Chris nodded and turned, grumbling that everyone were misusing him.

Inside the town, beneath one of the buildings

Cain Nightroad sat back calmly, observing his collection of bones. There were over fifty people there, over a hundred various animals and some large bones that could only belong to non-human races, even though those were supposedly legends.

He smiled coolly and let his mind wander, considering all the implications of the Exorcist arrival. These people would prove rather a troublesome situation, even though he had a Noah on his side.

He smiled softly at the thought. But a month ago he was just a simple human, living in constant despair due to his inability to change things. Yes, when he was a regular human priest, he adhered to a strict vow of pacifism, swearing not only not to kill, but also to stop any killing he could. He was a very friendly man, always tending to the needs of others, always putting them before himself.

Pathetic. He changed nothing. There were criminals in the city, and a woman was raped not two nights ago. He managed to somewhat restore her to a good mood, but her life was forever changed, and he could do nothing about it.

But that was all in the past. The rapist was his latest victim, and he wasn't dead just yet. Well, he will have a feast tonight.

"Enjoying my gift?" The voice behind him belonged to a very tall and handsome man in his early twenties, wearing a black jacket and black pants, both showing slight wear but clearly made of a very expensive material. Cain smiled softly.

"Indeed, I do so very much," he replied, putting the tips of his fingers together and looking at Jarlaxle, the Akuma, over their pressed together tips.

"I'm glad," replied Jarlaxle, smiling sweetly, a poisoned honey.

Cain's expression or smile didn't change whatsoever. He was far beyond a mere mortal now, and was confident that he could outdo this Akuma in a fight to the death.

He was dead wrong, but that was beside the point, as far as Jarlaxle was concerned.

"I've you've got yourself a small Exorcist infestation," Jarlaxle said suddenly, still smiling, and still standing calmly at the doorway. "I assume that Chris will suffice to take care of them?"

"Of course," Cain was still completely undisturbed by Jarlaxle's ability to know anything that happened in town.

"Good," replied Jarlaxle and turned away, walking calmly through the system of tunnels that Cain never knew of until Jarlaxle showed him. Leaning back, he considered this Akuma and how he arrived to b town one day, so conveniently having the needed items to help Cain get what he always wanted.

World peace.

Jarlaxle, knowing full well that Chris alone would never suffice to stop the Exorcists - he suspected that even Xavier, so proud and confident in his power, would not be enough this time, as the Exorcists showed not only promise, but definite growth - laid out his own traps, several well placed pitfalls to separate the Exorcists, and a few mines that would probably cause severe damage. What he really wanted was to see Cain's powers displayed, as this was the first test subject. Should it work, he intended to sell his invention to the Chinese mafia.

The profits, and chaos, would soon follow suit.

He, however, was at the moment most interested in the young Exorcist called Takeshi, who supposedly fought with Dinnin and survived - quite the feat, truly.

So he decided to follow the Exorcists closely and, when the chance presented itself, to check this Takeshi child out.

Yawning as day broke on my bumpy voyage to Finland, I stretched my limbs away from each each other, snapping my joints. The cool, yet not cold, temperature of the air that flowed from the window were refreshing making me almost regret that Cassandra wasn't here next to me cleansing her lungs in such green a scenery.

"At least she's safe home." I whispered.

Looking at the waiter patrolling the carts on the train I asked him to fetch me a cup of cafe au lait, the perfect way to start a morning.

Jarlaxle and Christopher should be in the city. Lowdown states that Cain's a bastard, mutating people and making profit out of it. Not that I care much for his life really. I'll simply secure whatever mojo he uses to transform his specimens and return it to the Earl. I couldn't care less for the life of such a lowly runt. Then again... Oh screw it. Thinking about the future has never been much of my habit really. Living for the moment; c'est la vie.

Waiting for the train to reach its destination, I continued sipping on my morning coffee, clearing my head of any negative thoughts about the mission I have been sent on.

Responding to the question about raising money with spirit dragons, Hei can't help but laugh at the prospect

"If there were no Akuma, it would be a great idea to entertain the populace, what little there is here. However such a display would bring any Akuma out, and give them a bunched up group to get caught in the crossfire. If I were them I wouldn't miss that chance."

Rexus seemed a little disappointed by the answer, perhaps he had meant it as just a light joke and wasn't expecting such an answer, however lately Hei had too much on his mind. Seems that he would sense strong deja-vu when walking through an area he had never been. Taking note that certain shops were 'still there' during the journey when he couldn't have known.

Entering the Inn, the group takes note that the establishment is old, worn yet clean. The smell had been a very large pot of stew the current manager of the Inn was making. The matronly woman turned to the group and smiled, asking them if they would like a meal and room.

Taking her offer, Hei selected rooms on the second floor, the humble, warm and comfortable rooms looked wonderful against the bleakness that otherwise surrounded the town.

As the meal started around a large dinner table, the group decides on how to go about gathering information. Hei suggests that they either stay together or split into two groups at most to explore the town, due to the size. Separating smaller would be unnecessary.

[Kabane]

Styx shimmered into a train, his image phasing in and out of vision in a metallic blur. He seems to have shimmered into a broom closet, he crushed several brooms. He exits the broom closet, making sure no one had seen him, and proceeds to find Xavier. He checks every room, most individuals gave him dismissive looks.

How could you not? Styx generally wore raggedy clothes, and that unsightly scar on his forehead was hard to miss. Styx didn't care, he doesn't care about much. Several cars down, he saw Xavier sipping on a cup of coffee. The aroma of the coffee had perfumed the general area, french vanilla? Styx thought. The italians were different with coffee. He knew from personal experience. Nicholas liked his cappuccinos. They were small and gave quick bursts of energy. The french tend to enjoy their "tea time" (or in this case coffee time) more.

Styx slid the door open, Xavier sending him a curt glance. His expression said one thing to Styx "what are you doing here?" Xavier didn't bother to ask. Styx never talked to anyone except Nicholas, besides... He enjoyed the company.

Styx handed Xavier a note in Nicholas' hand writing.

There have been a strange amount of missions lately, we aren't centralized into one area like before. My mission is with Constantine in the South. I heard you were working alone with two less than dependable akuma. So here's Styx. He'll listen to anything you say, I told him to do so. Don't overwork him.

"Yeah, I think we should separate into 2 groups. That way, we could gain information faster," said Rexus while munching a bowl of salad "How about that?"

He stared at his friends with a smile. They were having a dinner at the INN at the moment.

"Whatever... I agree...," replied Crescent, unfocused with the conversation around him. He's thinking about the condition they are in now.

'Why there is no enemy attacking us until now? Usually they would bugging us around. But maybe they're already around, and wait for the right moment to ambush us. Then we should be very careful.'

"Hey, did any of you got attacked just now?" asked Crescent to the other members who got into the other train.(Takeshi, Annabell, Krory)

"That damn Cain, threatening me like that...! He would have never said that if Lord Constantine were here, he'd have that arrogant jerk rot in hell!" Kicking a near by large rock to express his anger he looked down the wide road in this depressing city. "And I'm not good at "trapping" the Exorcists to slow them down... I can't face them head on, I'll be slaughtered if I do..."

Continuing down the road he saw the group of Exorcists enter in the nearby Inn, that is where they were probably going to stay until they finished their business here. "I've got an idea to slow them down a bit for that jerk, Cain... I don't want to get on his bad side since he seems to be not your usual demented Exorcist..." Seeing the unused route that the Exorcists will probably take in order to investigate, Chris dashed over there to set up a trap. "This will work and buy some time atleast..." He placed his hands on the ground, creating a trap underneath the surface.

"If the Exorcists were to step on this path, they would fall through the ground until hitting the bottom thirty-five feet deep." He softly kicked theground to make sure that it would fall apart immediately. After setting up the trap, Chris headed back to the town to see if anyone he knew was there.

Several meters ahead of him, he saw the outline of someone very familiar to him, it was Xavier-sama. "Xavier-sama! I'm glad to see you here! What are your commands Xavier-sama? I set up a trap leading up to where the Exorcists will be investigating, that should slow them down a bit when they go there..."

((Location: town in the south area of Finland. All exorcist are here except for Kimiko))

"We did...well I did." Takeshi replied. "Just a few level 1 akuma. I think they were here just as a coincidence, and tehy weren't following us. They would have sent at least a lvl 2 if they were." Takeshi finished explaining while grabbing a bread.

"Unless they were just trying to draw us out." Hei said, looking at the others.

"It's possible, but then tehy would only know about Takeshi." Kro-chan explained. "And they would have known about him due to his dragons anyway."

"So what do we do?" Annabell asked. She, like the others, knew that we had to move fast and investigate before anything bad happened.

"We should leave tomorrow first hour in the morning. We'll move in the two groups we arrived here, but we won't get so far from each other in case a noah attack us." Takeshi said, finishing his food, and drinking his tea.

After they all finished with their food, each went to their rooms to catch a sleep.

"Hey, you're welcomed if you want to sleep my room, Crescent," said Rexus as he opened his door. His room was next to Crescent's.

"No, thanks, pervert geezer...," replied Crescent coldly and slammed his door.

"Oh well.. Good night...," smiled Rexus and he too went in to his room and slept.

At night...

The exorcist were sleeping soundly when a shadow flew past their rooms. Immediately, their head jerked up and get out of their beds as they felt the black aura near their INN. Crescent quickly peeked through his window, and monitoring his surrounding. He suddenly jumped back and grabbed his exorcist uniform as an imense bullet hit his window.

"Sweet. We even can't get some peaceful sleep," muttered Crescent in dark mood as he activated his Innocence "DON'T MESS UP WITH ME AT NIGHT, YOU SCUM BAG!!!" He ran to the veranda and pulled his triggers, releasing a Bouncer Bullet toward the akuma level 1.

The bullet hit the akuma, which gather around that place, in one swift movement and gone when it had finished its job. Crescent turned to his now-broken room and realizing Rexus and the other exorcist were watching him from their veranda.

"Now, my invitation is still on, Crescent. Do you want to sleep in my room?" asked Rexus, smiling.

"NO, thanks. I'll ask for one more room from the reservation desk." Crescent stormed out of his room, muttering why it was his room that got hit by the bullet.

"Well then, we should head back to sleep," said Rexus to his friends who were still on their veranda, wondering why a calm boy like Crescent could yell like that. "Good night. Hope there won't be another attack, or they would feel Crescent warth."

With that, he went back to his room and lie down to his bed. 'It's a rare occasion to see Crescent angry...,' he chuckled.

After the little incident last night, Takeshi couldn't get back to sleep. He decided to stand guard while the rest slept.

The next morning, after breakfast, everyone started to get their stuff ready to depart. "Hey Kro-chan, we're going to head north now, right?" Annabell asked Kro-chan as they went down the stairs, where the rest were waiting. "Yeah, we'rell be going along with Takeshi, while Hei is going with Rexus and Crescent.

After both of them came down, Hei said: "We'll meet every 4 hours to check on each other. If anything happens to one group then they'll contact the other with their golems, got it?" "Yes!" everyone exclaimed, and each group took different roads, going north.

The Inn

Jarlaxle was sneaking around the premises, watchful for the young Exorcist Takeshi. Spotting him near one of the inns in town, he smiled to himself and entered the inn, leaning casually on the table and asking the owner as to who was that young man who so reminded him of his long lost little brother.

Masterfully played, it made the cleric tell him that the young man has just arrived from an unknown destination, and was apparently Exorcist of the Black Order. Nodding and smiling, Jarlaxle went apparently to speak to the young man. Fishing a small round object out of his pocket, he approached them and dropped it to the ground.

A gaseous cloud of fumes rose up, dropping everyone into unconsciousness. Smiling, Jarlaxle grabbed Takeshi and carried him into a secret cave a short distance away, then stepped back and let the temporary effects of the poison unfold. He wanted to see what this kid could do.

((Kenshin you're now in my hands. MWAHAHAHA))

While wandering, Hei Crescent and Rexus inevitably and shortly came back towards the Inn. There just wasn't that much in the town.

As they neared, a clamor was arising, something had happened. From the distance the visible effects were a dispersing gas, bodies on the ground, and anyone getting too near was collapsing as well.

Poison or paralytic agent?

Ordering Rexus and Crescent to help those only at the very fringes of the gas, Hei holds a hand to his mouth and nose in a feeble attempt to block the gas and moves inside of it, looking for the other exorcists. There were only three warm bodies inside of the Inn too.

As he enters the doors, his mind grows slightly hazy, releasing the second level of his innocence is enough to counteract the impurity entering his body however, as his vision soon clears. One, two, three. The three are quickly drug outside by Hei.

Annabelle, Krory, and the matronly Inn-keeper. Takeshi was nowhere to be found.

"So now we find a vampire and a missing exorcist. Also Annabelle and Krory are out. Rexus, you and Crescent support Krory, and Annabelle til they wake up. Find a nice place to sit them and lets get to asking people for the first person seen carrying anyone."

Heading back into the gas to retrieve the other people, lest they be unable to get any answers out of the villagers for being uncaring evil-doers, Hei drags the few others outside of the effective area.

Catching back up to Rexus and Crescent, they have gotten a little information on a general direction, though nothing more.

The 2 unconscious exorcists were coming too, and Hei orders one of them to accompany him, to look for Takeshi. Heading in the direction where a figure had been carrying another, Hei notices an an area of slight different temperature in comparison with the rest of the ground.

Holding up a hand to halt the other exorcist, Hei forms Ryuujin Senka and plunges it into the edge of the area, the lance breaks cleanly through.

"Thin layer of earth over a pocket of air, a pitfall." Marking an edge of the trap by dragging the lance tip through the soil, Hei sidesteps the trap with the other exorcist in tow.

Takeshi found himself waking up in a cave. He found a a tall, blonde hair man looking at him. Was he the one who took him here?

"Who are you? and did you bring me here? and what for?" Takeshi asked.

"Straight to the point, eh boy?" The man said. "My name is Jarlaxle. And yes, I was the one who brought you here." Jarlaxle said, giving Takeshi a bow.

"And the reason for bringing me here?"

"You, Himura Takeshi, were the first exorcist to have Dinnin transform into his akuma form . . . and survived. I got quite interested, which is why I am here now." Jarlaxle said, smiling.

Takeshi stood up and asked: "So...you want to ...fight me?"

"Of course, I want to know what you made of, boy." Larlaxe said, grinning.

[Undying]

Jarlaxle swirled a needle between his fingers. This kid has to be quite interesting, for Dinnin to transform into his Akuma form. And here the kid was, alive and well. Not a feat a lot of people could claim.

He suddenly tossed the needle at Takeshi, testing his reaction time. The needle wasn't poisoned - it was only a test - but he already prepared a special surprise for this child.

[Kenken]

Takeshi saw the akuma throw a needle at him. Not sure if it was poisoned or not, Takeshi opted to simply dodge it, and go into a batto-jutsu stance. However Jarlexle simply stood it, observing him. Was that a test? Takeshi thought to himself.

"Not bad, not bad at all, Takeshi." Jarlexle said.

This time, however, Takeshi didn't waste time. Activating his level two innocence, Takeshi moved 5 meters far from Larxene and sent an energy blast at him. Then in mediatly took a step back.

Near the outskirts of town, things looked bleak. There seemed to be too many places that the exorcist could have been taken. Turning to his partner ((still anyone who wants)) Hei asks that they take a position in an elevated area to look for signs of battle, and to communicate the locations should any appear.

Setting off down a trail, Hei slowly makes his way looking for anything that would be out of order. Unfortunately the gas would have left little struggle in carrying Takeshi, so there was no unusual amount of disruption in the terrain.

Using his Golem to communicate with the three who were left back at town, Hei asks that they make their way to Takeshi when they are able, and be ready to move to whichever location may be needed. The ones who had recently awoken needed a little more time to recover, yet if something happened Hei wanted to be quick on the response.

Jarlaxle grinned. This was indeed a worthy adversary! Jarlaxle was already moving when Takeshi attacked, having studied his abilities from Dinnin's earlier reports. Dodging the beam of energy and still grinning, he tossed out several more needles, these red and coated with Akuma blood.

It seemed as though he wasn't moving, but his next plan was already in motion, and he wondered if even Takeshi could do anything about it.

[Kenken]

The akuma dodged the attack easily, as if he knew what Takeshi was doing. Then the akuma sent a set of neddles at him. Blasting them away with Dragon's Breath, Takeshi went on attacking, but Jarlaxle dodged Takeshi's attack.

"Nest of Broken Eggs!" 10 dog-size dragons appeared, and soon after Takeshi sent another energy blast at Jarlexe.

[Undying]

Jarlaxle smiled as the Exorcist launched an attack at him. Or where he thought Jarlaxle was. In fact, the real Jarlaxle has stepped away already, but the Exorcist saw a mirage conjured by Jarlaxe's illusion poison.

[Illusion poison - you will see an illusion for five posts from now on until it wears off. The Jarlaxle you see will avoid all your attacks and will be unhurt by them if hit]

Smiling slightly he waited for the Exorcist's next move, and it seemed that the kid hadn't realized the trap yet.

"Hei! Hei!" Crescent was contacting him through the golem "I saw a couple of those dragons come from a little ways off, south east of where I am!"

"Where you are?" Hei was trying to think of relative positions. Thinking about it, he reached upwards and launched an Enrei serpent towards the sky, marking his position.

"Ah, there you are, go south west and you'll reach the spot, what do you want us to do?"

"Start making your way towards Takeshi and I, don't go too fast. You guys keep a good eye out and get there when you can." Replacing his golem, Hei holds his lance to his side and sprints south west. Soon he arrives at an opening to a cavern, and he can hear voices inside, as well as the sounds of battle.

"Cresent, this is Hei, confirmed a fight, I'm heading in. Doesn't seem like many, tell Krory and one other to start hunting out that vampire as well." Silencing his golem, Hei replaces it again and creeps into the cave opening. There, ahead are Takeshi and some Akuma. Strangely enough, Takeshi seemed intent on attacking locations in which the Akuma was not.

Readying himself for battle, Hei crouches low and prepares an assault.

Takeshi charged against the akuma, using Ryusosen to strike many hits on the akuma, but Jarlaxle was too fast for him, and doge him again. Turning around, Takeshi sent a blast after him, but once again was dodged.

He's too fast... Takeshi thought. Knowing that this would continue if he didn't do anything, Takeshi went battousai. His violet eyes changed to bright blue. Then Takeshi catched up with him and used a Kuzuryusen on him.

After finishing his attacked, Takeshi noticed something was wrong. He saw his tech touch the akuma...but he didn't feel any kind of resistance. It was like Jarlaxle wasn't there at all.

"You noticed, eh?" Jarlaxle said. "That was just an illusion, so even if you hit it, you're only hitting the air!! What are you going to do now, Hiimura Takeshi?"

An illusion? That's great, and I didn't have much time to practice my 6th sense.. Takeshi said in his mind. Well if that's the case, then there was only one thing he could do.

Pointing his sword at the space in front of him, Takeshi said: "3rd Roar, Seiryū's 100 Dragons Force." Takeshi moved his sword and stab the ground. "Blue Cage." A hundred spheres appeared along the ground and walls. They were spiritual portals, and a spiritual dragon woulb be coming from each one of those spheres.

The dragons charged, covering all the space in the cave. Once they found Jarlaxle, the rest moved in for the kill. But it still wasn't enough to finish off the akuma.

"I see, Takeshi Himura. I got an idea of your abilities now, and now, I will take my leave."

Knowing that Takeshi couldn't see him, Jarlaxle left the cave, leaving Takeshi alone...or was he?

The dragons made a flurry of movement, during which the Akuma made an escape.

"Skiddish beast." Hei comments as Kenshin walks over to him. "So, take it that wasn't the vampire. Lets let the others know and get about our way."

As the two left the cave the contacted the other exorcists, who in turn started searching in groups of two for the vampire. Asking what the Akuma wanted and hearing the answer which amounted to not being sure, they continue on their way.

Soon they near town again, the small mess from earlier leaving no trace. Near the edge of a local shop, they see a figure slink into the spaces between the buildings.

The two follow the figure behind the shops, this might be their vampire.

I hope he'll be seeing the correct target if it is.

After hearing that the battle has end, Crescent and the other went all over the town, seeking for suspicious person that might be the vampire. When they passed a old house outside the town, a strange aura caught Crescent's attantion. He told the others and they took their position to prepare for a fight.

Crescent activated his innocence and opened the door wide. Immediately, a black figure jumped out of the house and landed in the middle of the garden.

"I think that's one of the people infected by the virus!" said Annabell "The one who gots a superhuman power!"

"Yeah, let's end this quickly. I heard that they are quite strong," said Rexus as he activate his level 2 Innocence. He shot his Lost Soul toward the creature and it caught it by surprise. Wasting no time to puase, he shot his Fireworks, followed by Crescent's Unicorn Cage and Unicorn Blast.

"Venus, come here!" command Crescent. His cat appeared on his shoulder. "Hei, we are attacking a human that infected by the strange disease and we manage to capture it. What should we do next? Do we have to kill it?" Crescent asked with a worried tone "Oh, and... Are you both all right?"

"Not really," Hei responded, "I managed to find Takeshi, and he's alright, ut according to him and his dragons there are a few vampires surrounding us. Just wait there and protect the town. And try to learn more about the vampire you caught, but if you have to, kill it."

As Takeshi drew his sword and Hei activated his innocence, 4 vampires appeared. "You get one and I three?" Hei asked Takeshi. "Hey, that's my line." Takeshi said. "Why don't we just get 2 each?" "Fine by me." was the reply. Both exorcists smiled, and charged.

Vampire 1 came charging at Takeshi, but Takeshi was must faster and moved to the abck of the vampire. Using Kuzuryuzen, Takeshi hit the vampire in 9 different places at the same time, causing great damage.

The other vampire was faster than his companion, however. Charging towards Takeshi, the vampire slashed at him with his spading fork. Takeshi blocked the fork and draw it away to the right, but doing that left him plain open. The vampire swang his arm, slashing Takeshi with his fangs, and tried biting him, but Takeshi gave it a kick in the guts, sending it away.

After Takeshi kicked it, he accumulated the earth around him, and sent an energy blast in the direction of the vampire as it hit the ground. The vampire got hit by the blast, but was able to block and dodge some of its power.

Crescent end the connection and turned to his group. It's obvious that they all had heard the conversation.

"Oh, a beautiful girl," stated the creature as Crescent walked towards it "You're the one who trapped me in this barrier right? And there's one more beautiful girl! Good, good. My master would be very pleased. He likes agresive girls the most." Smirked it.

Crescent smirked back. His smile as cold as the ice. "Who are you calling a girl?" Crescent asked it calmly, then he made his bullet breeze the creature's face, to show that he was serious. "And who is this master?"

"Well, he is a tricky person for sure... But you have to find it yourself, miss, because I'm going to die now." And it exploded inside and teared the cage apart.

What happened next can't be seen by human eyes because their moves was very fast. Crescent manage to blocked half of the attack and pushed it back by kicking it on the face. The effect didn't do much to the creature and Crescent knew it.

Jumping backwards, he activated his Unicorn Horns immediately and sliced the creature clean on its stomach. Managing it's last effort, it bit Crescent's hand a little and turned to ash.

"Wa...!!" Crescent was about to say something when the creature suddenly explode and gone. He gripped the ash that flew through him. "I.. I killed it... I thought we could help him turned to human again.. Even tought he is some kind of monster, it is still a human..."

"I think he explode his body himself purposely to make sure he don't give up any information to us, so we can't help it..," said Krory as he tapped Crescent's shoulder.

"Yeah, but he do slipped some informations, you know?" smiled Rexus.

"Huh? What are those?" asked Krory.

"The 'master' is a tricky person (that's obvious) and I think it's a male," replied Crescent.

"And the master likes females...," added Annabell with a grim tone.

After that, there was a silence. They starred each other until Crescent broke the eerie topic.

"Don't worry, Annabell-san. We won't let him to get you," said Crescent as he turned towards the town.

"Yeah.. And we won't let it to get you either, Crescent... After all, you are easily get mistaken as a GIRL...," teased Rexus. (( and Crescent gave him a very dark glare, which made Rexus moved back slowly. hehehe )) "By the way, how about your wounds, Crescent Vell-sama???"

"It's nothing.. It just need to be licked...," muttered Crescent. Immediately, Venus moved to his hand and start licking it. "All right, thanks Venus. Stop it please...," groaned Crescent.

And after that, they all proceed to the town, still in high alert, in case there were vampires hiding again.

As Takeshi began combat with two of the vampires, code named "Vampire 1 and Vampire 3," Hei did the same against the other two.

Forming his bow and opening space, Hei looses several arrows towards the quicker of the two. Vampire 2 dodges to the side, and his slower counterpart takes the attack in his stead. The arrows puncture the creatures torso in two spots, tearing through and beyond.

Reforming the bow to his lance in order to block the claws of the quicker of the two, Hei is pressed back. Forced to guard one attack as the other catches up offers an unfortunate position.

Undead? There is no trace of life in them. Yet I can see these clearly in my memories. Hei is puzzled by memories of creatures he has never seen, which flood into his mind. He knows of ways to deal with them, yet does not.

Twisting the shaft of the lance and off balancing his attacker, Hei dives to the left out of reach of V-2. V-4 enraged, charges again. They seemed to want to use the simple numerical advantage to bring about swift victory against the exorcists.

Summoning the Wil-o-Wisps, Hei again faces off with the vampires as these orbit his body. They seemed much less willing to charge towards the exorcist with orbiting flames.

The quicker of the two came from the left, and the slower from the right, Hei crouched low and increased the distance of the orbit, thereby slamming into both of his attackers at close range.

Both vampires started to get up and grabbed their weapons. Then they charged towars Takeshi. Just charging in? These things don't have brains, do they. Takeshi thought, as he dodge both of them and let them crashed. But their reactions time was faster than Takeshi expected, with both of the vampires stopping and chaging directions toward Takeshi.

Getting behind a tree, Takeshi was able to evade Vampire 3 attack, whose weapon got stuck in the tree. Focusing on Vampire 1, who came around the tree and tried slashing with its machete, Takeshi blocked it with his sword, and kicked the vampire. Using it as an object of support, Takeshi jumped into the air and started spinning, slashing the vampire with his sword. Just as his sword came into contact with the vampire, Takeshi unleashed any energy left in the sword with Dragon's Breath, sending it to the ground.

The other vampire managed to take his weapon out of the tree, but as soon as he came to give Takeshi a surprised attack, it was too late for Takeshi was waiting. The vampire charged and tried to stab Takeshi, but Takeshi blocked it, and spun his sowrd to engate attack. Spinning around the vampire's right side, and using the Ryukansen, Takeshi delivered a blow to the back, sending the vampire across the forest.

Takeshi turned around and looked how Hei was doing. Hei was having not problem, so it was okey for Takeshi to simply watch.

As Takeshi watched Hei's fight, Vampire 1 and 3 stood up and run towards Takeshi as silently as they could. Takeshi stood motionless, still watching the fight and holding his sword in his hand. Soon after, the vampires catch up to Takeshi, and stood in both to his right and left, ready to attack.

"Took you long enough." Takeshi said, as he spun he sword in his hand, and before either vampire could do anything, struck his sword into the ground.

"3rd Roar, Seiryu's 100 Dragons Force, Eye of the Storm." Dimensional portals appeared around Takeshi, of which 100 spiritual dragons got out, attacking both vampires. The dragons drove the vampires into the air, and then back to eartg, smacking them against the ground.

As the vampires rebounded for a second attack, Hei sweeps his lance in a low arc taking the feet from under the vampires. Leaping into the air, he drives his lance into V-2, pinning it to the ground.

As V-4 clambers up and pursues Hei, Hei controls the three orbs forming a triangular shape, spinning them rapidly thereby preventing the vampire's approach. Showing surprising agility,the vampire attempts to leap over the makeshift shield.

One of the orbs swings around behind Hei, and surges upwards meeting the vampire in mid-flight, dashing it backwards a few feet and burrowing into its chest.

V-2 attempts to rise off of the lance, though unsuccessfully as Hei sends the other two orbs over to collide with either side of its head, caving and burning the skull inwards.

V-4 staggers forward again, showing resiliency this time, futile though it may be. There isn't much it can do with a smoldering hole in its chest. Dismissing the lance, and reforming his bow, Hei fires an arrow into the creatures left eye, rocking the head back and penetrating the rear of the skull.

Now with both beasts on the ground and doing little more than twitching, Hei watches to see if there is any regeneration. Something tells him there likely will be, these shouldn't simply go down so easily.

As Takeshi moved towards vampire 1, he decided he would keep vampire 3 busy while he finish off vampire 1. Talking calmly he said:

"2nd Roar, Nest of Broken Eggs." 10 dragons were 'born', and went to keep vampire 3 busy, which was starting to get up. The vampire seeing the dragons coming tried to stab them, but they moved out of the way, using their flamethrower to burn the vampire. The vampire moved away, but was still hit by the flames. Jumping in the air he slashed a dragon with a machete, and stabbing another on while coming down. The rest of the dragons moved around and bite the vampire with their fangs and scratched it with their claws.

While the dragons did their job, Takeshi threw a Dragon's Breath at Vampire 1, which dodged it by jumping into the air. But Takeshi was expecting this. Using the Ryutsuisen, Takeshi sent it back clashing into the ground.

Wasting no time, however, Takeshi threw his sword, stabbing the vampire in the stomach. As Takeshi fall and lande in the ground: "3rd Roar, Seiryu's 100 Dragons Force, Death."

The vampire started to grow in size for a while, but not long after it exploded, with 100 spirit dragons coming out and dissapearing in the air. Walking back to where the other vampire and dragons where, Takeshi made the dragons leave the battle to him, and send them to act as scouts in case anymore vampires came.

The vampire hold the machete and charged to Takeshi. He try to slash Takeshi's head off from the right, but Takeshi blocked the attack, and using the Ryusosen, Takeshi cut the vampire into pieces.

They were once again patrolling in the town, but they tried to avoid the place where Hei and Takeshi were having their business done.

Crescent jumped to one of the trees there and started monitoring the area using his Sixth Sense. He got nothing until a sudden blast of wind blew past him. He then realized that a vampire had made its way quite close to the place there were in.

“Rexus, behind you! There is a vampire at 7 o’clock!” yelled Crescent from the top of the tree as he jumped down fro it.

Rexus reacted quickly and activated his Innocence level 2. He pulled his trigger and started to shoot his Fireworks to the vampire’s direction. The bullets successfully hit it, but it seems that they didn’t do much to the creature because it still jumped toward Rexus.

[Damage to the vampire = -15. total : 35/50 ]

Rexus leaped back by supporting his body weight on his hands to avoid the charging vampire and shot down the trees around them to distract the vampire’s attention.
His plan worked, the trees trapped the vampire. But it seems that it wasn’t stupid enough to let itself to be trapped there for eternity. It smashed the tree and started searching for Rexus, who had waited for it to come out. A Bomb was cleanly shot to its head and it dealt a quite damage to it.

It suddenly leaped from the smoke caused by the explosion and caught Rexus by surprise. But attack never reached Rexus since a silver bullet zoomed past him and hit the vampire’s heart. That last attack had finished it.

“Crescent, it is my share!” pouted Rexus.

“I don’t care. I want this mission end quickly!” replied Crescent.

“By the way, what’s that bullet that you shot earlier?” asked Krory.

“That’s the special bullet I made using silver ore. It’s said that vampire can’t stand anything with silver ore on it,” Crescent explained while turning on the connection devices that hang on Venus necklace to connect with Takeshi's golem.

“Takeshi-san, we’re done here. How about you?”

[Tyekanik]

As the two vampires struggled to stand, Hei lost patience with them. Forming enough energy for a short lived blaze wall, he slams his palms together, bringing the pillars of flames over the two vampires in question.

The impact and heat destroyed them, then Hei walks to where Takeshi had finished his own vampiric duo.

"That was entertaining, but nothing came of it. We need to find whats making these."

"Quicker the better." Agrees Takeshi, as the two continue to search the darkened corners of town for more lurking beings. The sound of a nearby battle catches their attention.

"Suppose its only some more of those things back there, else we'd have heard about it." Approaching the local church, Hei and Takeshi enter it.

What better place to find information on the undead but the local holy place?

[Undying]

On a rooftop, in the city

Jarlaxle, Cain

Jarlaxle, accompanies by Cain, stood on a rooftop and observed the Exorcists fighting with the undead that Cain had sent against them. The four vampires were murdered in mere minutes, and Cain nodded in satisfaction. Jarlaxle was completely calm as well.

"As you predicted," said Cain suddenly, looking at the battlefield.

"Predicted?" Jarlaxle let out a small laugh. "No predictions. I simply knew everything."

Cain smiled.

A short while later Jarlaxle pointed at the inn. "Send in some of the farmers there. Distract them while I play a little with our friends."

Cain shrugged and waved his hand. Four skeletons rose from the ground, their bones covering in flesh within instants, resulting in regular humans. Each of them, however, smelled of decay and death, and fresh earth, as the flesh was made from the earth around them.

They ran towards the inn holding pitchforks and guns, and within minutes arrived there, immediately attacking those inside.

Meanwhile Jarlaxle used the system of tunnels below the city to quietly get behind Hei and Takeshi. Smiling to himself he tossed a bomb to their feet. The bomb exploded while screaming "Hallelujah". The small crater at their feet made them turn.

Jarlaxle strode openly, unafraid. "Hello there you two, what a fine day, is it not?"

Without answering they charged, Takeshi recognizing him as the Akuma that kidnapped him and Hei being led by the logical decision that anyone who throws speaking bombs at your feet can't be a good guy.

Of course, they didn't realize the devious Jarlaxle already predicted it, and a string made of metal wire shot between them, tied to a crossbow bolt. Both Hei and Takeshi skidded to a stop before they hit it head on. But it was too late. Jarlaxle dropped another Hallelujah bomb at their feet, knocking them back.

Grinning, Jarlaxle unleashed his next cloud of anti-Innocence poison, canceling their Innocence.

[You two can't use Innocence for the next three posts, and don't even try, or else.]

Clicking his finger, he summoned two of Cain's servants to his side. A giant wolf that sprouted a horn on his head and a bipedal wolf.

"Kill them."

Grinning, Jarlaxle slipped away. He had no interest in actually fighting the two, he just wanted to enjoy a show.

The bomb from Jarlaxle made both Takeshi and Hei fall into an underground tunnel. They were stunned for a few moments, but soon enough recovered their movement. The akuma, Jarlaxle, did not attack however. Instead, he clicked his fingers, and two creatures appeared soon enough: A Giant Wolf with a horn, and a Werewolf. Not long after Jarlaxle slipped away, leaving the exorcists and the beast to fight.

"Takeshi...it seems we are unable to use our innocence..." Hei mentioned to Takeshi after have tried to activate it.

"Damn...well we'll have to deal with it." Takeshi replied, drawing his Tenchu.

Both of the beasts started coming closer. "You take the worlf, I'll take the werewolf." Hei said. Takeshi charged the GW, taking it away some distance away, so Hei could take on the werewolf.

Takeshi slashed the wolf, trying to push it back. The wolf tried to dodge to the right, but it hit the wall instead. Takeshi took the opportunity to push the wolf with his body, taking it away from Hei and the werewolf. When they were far enough, Takeshi decided it was time to start the real battle. In such small space it will be hard to dodge to the sides, and a wolf can't move backwards fast enough. Takeshi thought, taking a neutral stance with Tenchu

Takeshi charged the wolf, which also charged. "Charged attack?" Takeshi said, a smile drawing in his face.

"Kuzuryusen!" ((Increases attack by 6 and speed by 3))

Takeshi delivered 9 simultaneous blows to the wolf, and then appeared behind it, in a kneeling position. Takeshi stood and turned around, looking at the wolf, which despite taking the attack full on, was still standing, although it wasn't unharmed.

"You're quite a hard nut to crack, aren't you?" Takeshi said to the wolf, taking a battoujutsu stance.

[Damage to wolf: 30 - 7(attack) - 6(Kuzuryusen) = 17]

In the tunnels below, as Takeshi led off the large wolf, the humanoid one began a sprint towards Hei.

Innocence that won't activate, so its aikido against a were wolf. Very nice.

The werewolf, as it leaps the last little bit of distance, Hei slings his body aside, putting the back of his wrist against the back of the offending outstretched hand/paw, turning the beasts shoulder towards him. At this point Hei slams his knee into the beasts side, sending it crashing into the wall of the tunnel.

Unfortunately the attacks had little effect, as the creature spun, arcing its claws towards Hei, slashing across his right ribs. Dropping and rolling to avoid the close ranged leap, the beast crashes into another tunnel wall as Hei springs to his feet, ready to accept the next charge.

picking up a goodly sized stone, Hei jams this into the mouth of the wolf as it closes again, this time leading with an intended bite. The stone blocks the motion of the teeth as the rear rows meet the offending object, though Hei's hand is grazed on the fangs from the front.

The creature steps back, clawing at its throat, trying to dislodge the stone. After removing the object, the werewolf turns its furious gaze towards his opponent, prepared to charge yet again.

"You're quite a hard nut to crack, aren't you?" Takeshi said to the wolf, taking a battoujutsu stance.

The wolf charged Takeshi at a greater speed that he expected, having to break the stance and jump backwards in order to avoid the attack. The wolf also jumped, grabbing Takeshi's coat and trying to bite his left arm, just as both of them were falling to the ground, with Takeshi on the bottom. Takeshi crouched, putting his legs close to his body and the legs in the wolf's body. Just as they reached the ground, the wolf bite Takeshi, and Takeshi, taking advantage of the force from the charging and the falling, lifted and kicked the wolf before it could do any real damage.

Takeshi stood up before the wolf charged at him again, but instead of drawing Tenchu or going into a Battoujutsu stance, Takeshi simply stood, his left hand holding the scabbard. Takeshi was going to use his ougi.

The wolf stood and charged once again, planning in biting Takeshi on the neck and end it.

As the wolf came closer and closer, Takeshi simply watched, waiting for the right moment to unleashed his counter-attack. The wolf was almost within range, and drove in, trying to bite Takeshi, but Takeshi, after taking a step with his right foot, took another step with his left, giving Tenchu an instantenous acceleration and weight.

The wolf took the hit, and was sent to area behind Takeshi. His fangs weren't able to reach Takeshi in time.

Takeshi stood up, and look at the wolf to see if it would get up. But it didn't, it was dead. Takeshi started walking towards Hei and the werewolf.

(Takeshi is tired for one post. He won't be fighting for that post, but instead resting.)

The next attack was a low one, the beast was faster and stronger than Hei, disadvantaging him greatly.

Werewolves are relatives to the undead, simply use~~

There it was again, thoughts that were not his own, as if from memories he did not possess. Similar to the tip-of-the-tongue phenomenon, Hei knew just what to do....almost.

Lunging forth, distance closing, the werewolf was snarling in fury. Hei had very little distance to either side of him, and an inappropriate amount of space to do...something.

Firmly planting his feet and shoving off to the side, Hei kicks off the earthen wall to his left, attempting to go over the creature. Slashing upwards as the prey changed directions suddenly, the claws gouged into Hei's calf.

Spinning from the twist he had given his body and the added momentum from the attack, Hei lands behind the wolf awkwardly on his injured leg. Looking up to see the creature almost upon him again, Hei brings his left arm to his face to keep the beats jaws from his throat.

The powerful jaws closed around Hei's forearm, snapping the ulna and radius of his left arm. Hei's vision hazed over in a wash of pain, as he does the most instinctive thing he can think of. He leans forward and clamps his own jaws on the creatures tender nose.

Howling in surprise, eyes watered in pain the werewolf skitters back in shock. Even a beast as fearsome as that had a similar bodily makeup to its two base creatures.

Spitting the wolfs blood to the soil, Hei holds his injured arm close to him.

Release the third level.

If things were so easy that would be a wonderful thing indeed but if you haven't noticed I can't use my Innocence, idiot whatever-you-are.

So you say you can't use me, yet you are being the foolish one. The flow throughout your body has not stopped, it merely can not be formed outside of the bounds of your flesh.

Dumbfounded, Hei grits his teeth against the pain, and tries to release the level of power he had been promised, though his heart was leaden at the idea of trying something so foolish in front of an enemy intent on eating him.

"Innocence, level three." The effect was immediate, power surged throughout his body, light pouring forth from his open wounds of a crimson color. At a cellular level, the damaged and missing cells were being replaced by false cells created by his innocence. his arm was being repaired from the inside.

Do not be fooled by this, the power needed to reform your damaged body is great, and the strain caused will be only different from the damage itself. In return for you body being healed, your energy will be decreased.

I can feel it, its rather exhausting but at least I can continue to move freely. I'd thank you but I see this is paying rent you know.

Impertinent, of all the hosts, you might be the most foolish.

The beast was unsure of what was happening, but the feral mind did not pause to think, only to ensure it was not rushing into a trap. Clambering down the hallway, the beast began to almost bounce from wall to wall, giving Hei no real room to move past.

Takeshi noticed he could use his innocence once again. Seeing that Hei might need some help, Takeshi sent some dragons to distract the werewolf and prevent from injuring greatly Hei much farther.

After that, Takeshi sat down on the floor, trying to rest for a while.

Far Away from the Battle

Enishi:

Following the Level 1 Akuma for a few days now, they finally turned their direction 50 degrees to the left and stopped.

"We're not very close to any civilization... so why are those Akuma stopping in a place like this?" Peering from behind an old tree, Enishi took a look to see just what those Akuma were doing. To his surprise, they were talking to a human, a dark skin huma who looked like he was giving out orders. "That skin... it looks familiar... and... are those cross shaped scars on his forehead?" Taking another glance from far away, Enishi was able to see clearly after using his extremely high senses. "Tch, it must be one of those Noah Clan members like the woman who I fought against... if they are around here then that means they're probably planning to attack nearby Exorcists..."

As the Akuma were done talking with the Noah, they quickly went up to the air again and continued on their journey. The Noah, in an instant, disappeared without a trace into the air. The Akuma headed off and Enishi continued his persuit.

"A group of Exorcists must be close if a Noah was here. It shouldn't take much longer to reach them..."

[Tyekanik]

A few spectral dragons flew past Hei and slammed into the werewolf.

"Oooh hey that poison seems to be gone." Extending his arm Hei summons his Second Ethereal Phantasm, Cerberus.

The two creatures collide in a flurry of fangs and fur, thankfully several yards away from Hei himself. The three headed hound sunk one set of fangs into the wolfs right arm, and the other two sets were unable to find a good purchase.

Shoving the werewolf to the ground, Cerberus pulls back, ripping the arm free from the beast. Leaping back with its dripping trophy, Cerberus crouches low.

Infuriated, the werewolf rises and charges, though over the crouched hound comes Enrei, coiling around the beasts body, entangling it.

Snapping his fingers, Enrei erupts into flames, scorching the fur from the werewolf, and destroying much of the soft tissue including the eyes.

Close to the Town


Enishi:


As the Akuma he had been following came to a stop to meet even more Akuma, this time it was several level 2 Akuma who greeted. Both groups gave each other approval and headed towards the same direction as before.

Many hours later, Enishi could finally see a town out in the horizon a few miles out. The sun was starting to set and the Akuma finally traveled to the ground, transforming back to their human forms.

"I take it this is their destination... that town up ahead looks like trash... fitting for those Akuma and Exorcist scum..." As the many Akuma slowly walked to the direction of the town, Enishi suddenly appeared before them. With his head down and his hands on the covered Jinchu, the Akuma looked puzzled at the newcomer who wasn't wearing the Exorcist uniform.

"Are you an Exorcist, if you aren't then get out of the way..." One of the larger bulkier Akuma belched out to Enishi, who didn't even pay attention to his threatening words.

"Me? An Exorcist...? Don't place me in the same category as those distusting people... I'm an not like those scums... but you guys are in the same category." Unsheathing Jinchu, in a blink of an eye he quickly dispatched the 4 Akuma in front of him with one fell swing. Cursing at Enishi, the Akuma transformed into their hideous forms and attacked Enishi with all their power. As the cloud of dirt disappeared, Enishi was no where in sight. Looking around the area to see where he was, two of the Akuma where cut in two and exploded right after.

As the huge muscular skull face Akuma threw an enormous punch at Enishi, with a simple block of his sword, Enishi completely stopped the large Akuma's fiercest punch without any effort. As the last couple level 2 Akuma suddenly appeared on both sides of Enishi, without showing any movement, Enishi sliced the 2 Akuma in four pieces in a blink of an eye.

As the final and most powerful Akuma pressed hard to overpower Enishi, Enishi gave a quick menicing glare at the Akuma and cut his arm in half starting from the fist all the way up to his shoulder. In an instant, Enishi cut off all of the Akuma's limbs causing him to fall to the ground.

And the Akuma laid there on his back try to move, Enishi stepped on his throat, pushed in his weight on his leg and pointed his sword at the Akuma's eye.

"Tell me... before I send you to the afterlife, what were you planning to do, Akuma?" He closed the distance from the Akuma's eye and his sword, making the Akuma sweat if fear.

"A-a powerful Ex-ex-orcist... who goes by an alias now..." His eyes were fixed on Enishi's sword in front of him.

"I see... I'll have to pay this powerful Exorcist a visit then won't I?" Lifting up Jinchu ready to finish him off, he looked at the Akuma, grinning widely. "Any last words you scum..."

"W-who are... you...!?" The Akuma screamed out as Enishi plummeted his sword straight through his head between his eyes.

"Me? I'm just a person with a huge grudge against you and those dirty Exorcists..." Walking off away from the dying corps, the Akuma's head slowly bubbled than exploded as Enishi walked off into the distance heading off to the nearby town...

Now recovered and able to use his innocence at full strength, Takeshi invocated his level 2 innocence. Then he accumulated energy in Tenchu from the earth energy lying around the cave.

After Enrei scorched the werewolf's fur and getting it blind, Takeshi run towards it, holding the end of the handle of Tenchu with his left hand, and supporting the blade with his right. Then when he was next to the werewolf, Takeshi:

"Ryushosen!!" ((+3 attack))

Takeshi jumped, slashing the beast with his sword, and at the same time, "1st Roar, Dragon's Breath!" An energy blast was shooted from Tenchu as it drove through the beast's body, sending it to the air.

The werewolf fall to the ground, dead. After making sure it was dead, Takeshi and Hei went out of the underground, and went to the city.

Where are we.

Xavier looked around him, he could see nothing but forest, forest, and yes, more forest. He seemed worried. Styx was traveling just behind Xavier, walking aimlessly. Styx was not concerned about the journey, he only knew what he was told.

I can't look lost, that Styx will report anything to Nicholas.

"We're growing closer to the exorcists. I could feel it."

Styx just looked at Xavier, as wide-eyed as he always is. He quickly returned to looking at the beauteous surroundings.

Did he believe me?

"Cyclone!" He pointed his finger in a random direction, a fierce gust blowing away anything in it's path. Styx looked in that direction. There was no additional movement, and Xavier held his pointing position as silence once again fell over the two.

God, Nicholas is going to have a laugh at this

Xavier imagines Nicholas' silhouette which size has been increased exponentially. It is laughing, in a fairly cartoon-y background with Xavier lowering his head in shame.

"NOOOOOO!!!"

Styx looked at Xavier again. They stopped walking.

"Oh, um.. yeah.. uhhh...There was a bee...? he he he?" Xavier scratched his head.

Styx displayed no emotion. Xavier didn't really know how to interpret it.

Where are these exorcists...

Leaving the underground tunnel, Takeshi and Hei started walking towards the town. They have received a message from the others that it was under attack by zombies.

"First vampires, then werewolves, now zombies. Are we in some kind of fantasy story or something?" Takeshi asked Hei.

"Probably, we might even be toys of some greater force, even if it seems we're making our own choices... or maybe I'm just plain wrong, and is just becuase of innocence that there are vampires and zombies. Or magic..."

Hei continued on, telling Takeshi all the theories he could think of, as Takeshi listened to him, until they arrive at the town, where they found the other exorcists fighting zombies.

"Zombies, lots of zombies." Takeshi remarks.

"Yeah, I they won't be around for long." Hei prepares to eliminate the shambling threat in one fell blow.

Placing his palm on the ground, Hei activates the his technique with the words "Fire Seal, grant me sovereignty," Dozens of serpents rush towards the zombies, confining them before reducing them to ash.

"Neat trick." Takeshi comments on Hei's ability.

The vicinity is clear of zombies now, and the other exorcists look in surprise at the disturbance caused by Hei.

"Sorry for the interruption fella's, but we need to keep moving." Slightly embarrassed as Hei doesn't like to be the center of attention, he and Takeshi continue into the town.

Takeshi, Hei and the others went back to the inn, where they order some food.

While eating, Kro-chan asked them what took them so long. Hei told the others how he found Takeshi, who was kidnapped by an akuma, in acave, and after getting out they found some vampires, and then were attacked by a giant wolf and a werewolf.

"Wow...are we in somce crazy story or something?" Crescent asked Hei. Hei then started explaining his theories to them. After they finished eating, they went to the commong room and rested.

At the INN....

They all gratefully rested, since they had been battling for the whole days, especially Hei and Takashi.

"Hei-san, Takeshi-san, I could heals your wounds if you allowed me to," said Crescent with a smile "I would be happy to help."

((your health would be added by 6 if you are healed by Crescent. Please use his ability as you like.. :) ))

After that, they all went to their room. But they didn't know that a disaster was going to occur.

((Yosh! The kidnapping would happen here! To make this faster! hehe..))

That night, a bunch of vampire sneaked into the INN without anyone realizing it. They killed all of the people there, except the exorcist. As the vampires sucking the blood out of the poor people, Crescent and the others bolted up from their sleep as they feel a weird aura was catching their nerves. But it suddenly died up and they all kept awoke, waiting for something to happen.

Rexus quietly went to Crescent's room and told him to protect AnnaBell who was in the room beside his. When he got out of Crescent's rooms, he met Hei, Takeshi and Krory who also wanted to checked for the weird aura that seems to coming from the Dining Room.

As they walked along the corridor which led them to the Dining Room, nothing strange was spotted, so they kept walking until they reached their destination. Takeshi opened the dining room door and saw that the wall was covered by something liquid and black. Rexus quickly turned on the lights. And a sudden understanding was seen from their eyes.

The wall was covered by blood.

Crescent and AnnaBell, in their rooms...

Crescent closed his eyes and started using his Sixth Sense. By using his ability, he could felt that everybody the Inn had gone, beside himself and the other Exorcist. Opening his eyes, he told AnnaBell to stay on guard because they were under attack by the vampires. He quickly activated his Innocence as he felt that Rexus and the other's aura in the Dining Room had increased, signaling the beginning of a battle.

A shadow went past the window of the room they were in. Crescent shot his Unicorn Wings at full speed and manage to hurt whatever it was.

'I'm quite sure that was a vampire.. But why does it moves so fast?'

Apparently, AnnaBell had activated her Innocence either and prepared for a fight. But what comes next was too much for both of them. A large numbers of vampire appeared out of their window and door, blocking their path for escaping.

Gritting his teeth, Crescent prepared for a defensive battle. The others were currently under attack either, so they couldn't come to his place. And he was out numbered by the vampires, leaving him no choice but fights.

He placed his Blood Cage around him and AnnaBell and continued to shoot Aero Slash as many as he could. As his bullets hit the vampires, Crescent jumped between them and search for the master brain of this attack.

The vampires quickly regained their composure and focused on Crescent who moves among them. His eyes caught sight of a tall figure which resembles to the priest who he saw in the photo back then, Cain Nightroad.

“Hello, little girl… You sure are a beautiful thing, aren’t you…,” smiled the vampire in eerie smile “And that woman over there, she was even more fascinating… ,”

Crescent hesitated in pulling the trigger of his guns and immediately, the vampires were all around him. He desperately shot his Unicorn Blast, but one of the vampires had caught him and slammed him to the wall. The last thing he heard was Anna’s scream that rang all over his head.

((Hehehehe… please save AnnaBell and Crescent… they were caught by the vampires.. but they won’t be killed because Cain loves to ‘play’ with his ‘pet’. When Rexus and the others went to the room where Crescent and AnnaBell were in, they would saw that the wall was covered by blood (the blood of humans mixed with AnnaBell, Crescent and vampire’s blood) ))

Outside of Town

Enishi:


"Tch, everywhere I go their's the living dead now... I'm getting sick and tired of looking at their rotting faces...!" Enishi yelled out to himself as he slashed away at a few zombies, cutting them in half and exploding moments later.

Sheathing back Jinchu for now, there seemed to finally be an end to all of these zombies around the area. Enishi walked through the broken gates that lead into the city and started to look around for what he had been seeking for this short journey.

This town is bigger in person once you actually enter these old rickety gates... I don't know why I even bothered to come here... He pushed up his glasses again and headed down a road that seemed to be the main road of this town...

Takeshi quickly run back upstairs to check on Annabell and Crescent after defeating most of the vampires downstairs, leaving the remaining ones to the others.

Crescent was on the floor, with vampires on top of him, and Annabell on the bed, trying to help Crescent.

Takeshi charged and got the vampires off from Crescent. Takeshi grabbed him and threw him to Annabell, who took cover in the corner of the room.

The other vampires focused on Takeshi, flying towards him with their fangs and claws ready. But Takeshi had other plans...

"3rd Roar, Seiryu's 100 Dragons Force, Eye of the Storm."

Takeshi struck his sword into the ground, and 100 spiritual dragons appeared arond him, acting as a shield. After the vampires were thrown back or stopped, the dragons decided on tehir targets, and killed them, through stabbing their hearts with their fangs.

After it was finished, Takeshi walked towards Crescent and Annabell, only to see Crescent pointing out to the window. Takeshi turned, and he saw Cain Nightroad, floating in the air and looking at him...

"I don't have interest in boy, so move aside," said Cain as he moved toward Crescent and AnnaBell. Crescent immediately stood in front of the girl, even though he was hurted, he won't go as low as letting a girl in front of his eyes caught by the enemies.

But Takeshi never let it happen. He quickly blocked the priest path.

Sighing with his persistent opponent, he snapped his fingers and again, a large number of vampires appeared, this time accompanied by akuma.

"What the..,," Crescent starred at his surroundings, but he quickly regained his compossure and prepare his guns. Together with Takeshi, he started to fight back.

"Unicorn Blast!" Crescent pulled out a tornado by using his high-speed bullets.

It quickly swept out a number of vampire and akuma, but it also took the buildings with it so they were now fighting at the outside. Rexus, Hei and Krory manage to escape from the building either and were fighting on the other side.

"Well, it is a better battlefield now. Thank you very much, Miss," smirked the priest.

"And I think you should know that, I am a BOY!" roared Crescent, who had patiently kept the words back then.

"Oh, really? I don't care, you are a beautif..."

But his words were never finished because Crescent had shot a full Unicorn Blast to Cain, who was a little surprised with the sudden attack. The bullet manage to give him a deep cut on his cheek.

"Beautiful...," stated Cain as he touch his bleeding cheek and licked the blood from his fingers.

'Disgusting....,' thought the exorcists who saw him licked it as if it was a candy.

Cain, who was enjoying the taste of blood from the Exorcist. As Cain was about the begin his assault, an unfamiliar person to the Exorcists came out of nowhere penetrated Cain's left part his chest with a sword sending Cain flying back crashing into building after building. The damage to the houses and business buildings were great, and so was Cain's wound probably.

Standing in the middle of the street, Enishi stood there silently and watched the cloud of dust fly up into the air and down the streets in all directions. The Exorcist, Crescent, peered out the window to see who just saved himself and Annabel from Cain. Enishi walked slowly to the damage buildings and into the cloud of smoke, he didn't see the Exorcists peering at him from the sides, he was purely focused on this battle ahead of him.

As the cloud slowly faded away into the dark sky, Cain stood there, with a bloody chest, leaning against the large hole in the house where he landed, with his right arm. Cain, coughing up blood from his deep wound, look ominously at the man who had just struck him without even seeing his movements at all. He was furious to have such a person be able to best him like that.

"You're not like one of those other vampires and demons in this city, are you...? I take it you‘re the cause of all of these demented souls suffering through the streets, unable to pass to the afterlife…" Pushing up his glasses, he looked at the vampire, his eyes piercing through the pale man who had probably taken many innocent lives in his life, his expression seemed sure of it, making Enishi think back to when his sister died meaninglessly when he was young.

Enishi realizing the strength of this opponent, put his hands on his coat, lifted it above his head and threw it on the dirt floor near him. Tight sleeveless silk clothes with three straps on his chest were under his heavy coat which he hadn't taken off his coat for a very long time, this was proof of Enishi's resolve to kill this man, no not a man, a demon, to stop the suffering that he caused and hopefully help resolve his own suffering in his own life.

Crouching down into his battle stance, Enishi closed his eyes and then faced towards Cain's direction, and took a deep, long breathe. "Have at you, demon...." Rushing to his opponent, the dirt behind him flew up into the air as he clashed swords with Cain. Pressing hard to overpower to vampire, Enishi side stepped around Cain throwing a side kick which sent him flying down the street and chased after him while still in the air. Swinging his sword down to finish off Cain, he hit nothing but the dirt, creating a huge crater in the ground from the impact. Cain vanished behind and threw a fierce punch at Enishi's face only to block with his sword. Slicing upward, Enishi cut through Cain's fist almost if half then kneeled down and jumped up connecting Jinchu's dull side of the blade with Cain's throat sending him up to the sky, motionless.

"Shikku Tosei..." Enishi said under his breath as he leaped up into the air, meeting Cain, turning his waist and shoulder, slashing him again with sending Cain at another building. Pushing off with his legs from the impact, Enishi dashed to Cain in air making it look like he was gliding. Cain, grinning, opened his eyes only to find Enishi swinging down with all of his strength, connecting Cain's chest. Cain flew to the ground, causing dirt to be sent throughout the streets.

Staggering to stand up, Cain glanced at Enishi dashing towards him following behind his sword ready to pierce the him. Cain slashed his hands and sent waves of undead, coming out of the ground to devour Enishi. With Enishi’s great momentum, he ran straight through them all; dead bodies where tossed around like nothing as Enishi’s speed did not decrease at all, but instead increased even more from his rage. Cain, unable to retaliate back or move, folded his arms in front of his face, trying to stop Enishi’s onslaught.

"Now you die...!" Enishi shouted dashing through air, pierced through both of Cain’s arm and through his neck. Jinchu’s hilt met with Cain’s arm causing Cain to be pushed back as Jinchu slid out of his neck leaving a trail of blood everywhere. Unable to catch his breathe, Enishi split Jinchu into two duel swords and threw them at the stunned Cain, one of them piercing through Cain’s chest and the through his forehead.

"Any last words you scum…!?" Enishi raised his voice as Cain started to foam blood through his mouth. Putting out his hand, Enishi tightened his fists. The two wounds in Cain started to form Kanji words meaning Jinchu all over his head and chest. In a blink of an eye, the tattoos caused an enormous explosion, and black smoke filled the air of the whole town.

As the smoke faded away, there was nothing left of Cain except a pool of blood where he stood… Swiping Jinchu in the air to wipe off the blood, Enishi sheathed back Jinchu, walked over to his coat, picked it up and left town without speaking a word.

Are you smiling sister…? I know your suffering won't cease until I have fulfilled the revenge of your death. I must go on living and seek out the answer… for you, sister.

Takeshi came down and went to where the mysterious man and Cain were fighting. When he got there there was nothing except for coarpses and a big pool of blood.

After checking the place, Takeshi started going back. He hasn't walked far when, sensing something moving behind him, that he turned around, Tenchuu ready to be drawn.

The blood was started to join, forming a body. Not long after it took the form of Cain. But it didn't stop there. The corpses around Takeshi started moving towards Cain, joining with him. More creatures of the dark also appeared, fusing with the big ball of mass Caien has transformed to.

Then the sphere exploded, showing what was inside it. Cain has transformed into a hybrid of the creatures je joined with. He was a bit mroe muscular, his body looking more like a werewolf than a human. He had grown big, bat-like wings on his back. His hair was not long and messy, with two small horns growing out. He had sharp claws in his hands, and a tail that looked like a snake.

Takeshi stood there, watching what Cain would do. Finally Cain took notice of Takeshi, and quickly moved towards him, slashing with his claws. Takeshi had just enough time to draw Tenchuu and block the attack with it. Soon after Takeshi felt something grabbing his leg. He looked down to see the snake-like tail has grabbed him, and threw him across the air, towards a destroyed building.

Takeshi used his feet to 'land' on the building, and then quickly came down to the ground. Takeshi wondered what has happened to Cain, but he didn't have much time to think about it. Cain charged again, then quickly jumped and aimed a kick to Takeshi's right shoulder.

Takeshi took a step to the left, and with Tenchuu guided the kick out of the way. Then quickly made a 180º spin, aiming to slash Cain's back. However when he made contact, Tenchuu didn't went far, as it was stopped by muscle mass Cain had.

Cain grabbed Takeshi's leg, then lifted him, and send him crashing to the ground. Takeshi tried to get up, but only received a kick which send him flying. As Takeshi landed, Cain quickly ran after him. Takeshi struck his sword into the ground, and tried getting up, but Cain was already there, and quickly threw a punch after him...

"Seiryu's 100 Dragons Force, Eye of the Storm." Takeshi whispered, as 100 dragons flew out around him, stopping Cain and sending him into the air. Takeshi quickly got up, and made a jump as Cain was still in the air.

"Ryutsui..." Takeshi hit Cain with Tenchu, taking him into the ground, and then quickly, taking Thenchuu with his left hand and supporting the blade with his right, "...shosen!" Takeshi slashed Cain in an upward direction, once again sending him fliying. Then Cain came crushing into the ground.

Takeshi walked towards Cain, in order to deliver te final blow, but a punch came straight at him, hitting him in the guts. Then another and another. Cain was still alive and soon after sent a kcik after Takeshi. Takeshi, however, dodged the kick by using Wings of Destiny and getting out of the way. Takeshi quickly activated Heavenly Armour, with dragon scales appearing on his limbs and body.

Cain also took flight, really mad now. With greater speed he delivered a combo to Takeshi, which sent him falling to the ground. Takeshi recovered his balance mid-air, but Cain came down on him, and after another combo he chrashed him againts a wall.

Cain then walked towards Takeshi, with fangs ready. Takeshi tried getting up, but he didn't much strenght. Knowing that if he didn't do anything soon, Cain would kill him right there, and then go after the others. Letting his anger grow, Takeshi's eyes turned golden.

Cain noticed the change in Takeshi's eyes, which showed ...bloodlust? Yes, bloodlust it was. Those eyes were almost shouting at him for blood, for his blood. Cain would give them blood, but Takeshi's blood. Then lifted his arm to grab Takeshi. But his hand only managed to grab the air in fron of him.

Takeshi was in battousai mode, increasing his strength, speed and reflexes. He also didn't feel as tired as before, and neither did he feel pain. When Cain lifted his arm Takeshi quickly moved out, appearing behind Cain. Cain turned around and attacked Takeshi, but Takeshi quickly dodged these with ease, as he accumulated energy abd sheated Tenchuu.

Cain, threw a punch, which was stopped by Takeshi using the scabbard as a shield. Then he quickly hit Cain in the face with the end of the scabbard, and followed by Takeshi taking a battoujutsu stance, then taking a step with his right foot, drawing Tenchuu and slashing Cain. Aa he slashed, he let all the energy loose with a Dragon's Breath, damaging Cain further.

Cain lost an arm with the attack, and also received a great wound on the chest. Cain saw Takeshi accumulating more energy, and then put Tenchuu back into the sheath. Then he just stood there, looking at Cain. Cain was furious, and quickly ran towards Takeshi.

As Cain's attack were a hair away from Takeshi, Takeshi took a step with his left foot, and used the Amakakeru Ryu no Hirameki, and just as he did with the battoujutsu before, he used a Dragon's Breath at the same time, this time killing Cain for good.

Cain flew across the air before landing into the ground, already dead. Cain's body changed back to his human form. Takeshi walked towards it, and using a small fire that was near them, Takeshi burned the body, making sure it would not come back to life.

Takeshi left the scene, walking towards the Inn where the others were. Just as he came inside, he lost his balance and started falling. Before losing conciousness, he felt a pair of hands grabbing him, preventing him from hitting the floor ...

After dispatching the vampire, Takeshi entered the wrecked inn whereupon he proceeded to lose consciousness.

Catching him before falling to the wooden floor, Hei sits him down leaning against an interior wall. Calling for the other exorcists, Rexus Crescent and Annabelle Hei receives a call from his golem.

"Hei! Everything should be under control so go to Asia HQ now!" It was Komui, assuming things were taken care of.

"Komui, yes things are good but isn't Asia HQ a little far?" Truth be told, Hei had not been there since he had left many years ago. The supervisor there wouldn't know him, though some of the older members like Wong likely would.

"Nonsense, just get moving as soon as you can, speed is key." Some of the joking had left Komui's voice, things might be getting serious. To send Hei to such a place, Komui would know about the problems that could cause.

"I copy, we'll make all due haste." Shutting out whatever Komui was going to finish saying, Hei replaces the golem inside of his coat.

Asia HQ. It's been more than a decade, but looks like I have to return to my old home.

Hefting Takeshi over his shoulder, Hei and the rest make their way outside of the inn, and the journey towards Asia Hq begins.
