View Full Version : Second Night I: The Archangel and The Pope
“So you’ve been sleeping here this entire time?” Cross spoke. The golden-scaled monster in front of him stirred, but did not attack.
“The previous Angel of the Lord, it’s a pleasure to meet you. You’ve been protecting this sword here, haven’t you?” Cross bowed.
“It is not for you, human.” The Archangel bellowed.
“I’m so sorry to hear that, but power is beckoned. We need more to beat the Earl of the Millenium.” The Archangel transfigured to the image of a man, clad in armor.

“You won’t be taking this sword. Not at least while I stand.”
A chant, then Cross’ hand pierced the angel’s chest. Out came the heart of the Archangel. The body fell limp; Cross picked up the sword, it was incredibly heavy. “So, this is her, hmm?”
She spoke, “Take me to him. You are not the one.”
Cross thought to himself, ”Which of my idiotic apprentices should I test this on? Allen has no ability at sorcery, and Rave’s pride would rely on this too much or he’d never use it. What’s that kid’s name…? I’ll leave it in his room. I’ve given him a few things, including his trip to the Order.”
---------------------------------------------------------
Jacques sat in Komui’s office, who was lecturing him. “I’m the only reason you’re still alive. I work to keep you safe, so don’t spite me.”
“But I’m not going to spy on Lenalee for you.” Jacques stormed off. The Order was less homely than ever. He retreated to his room…
Inside sat a crystal-like ball, and a brooch. He walked closer and the ball turned green, like the hemispheres on the back of his hands. Suddenly, it broke, and something flew into his chest. “Yes, you are the one,” spoke the voice. Both had vanished from the table. Lamia…?!
A voice rang through the halls:
“This is Komui. We have an attack on a convoy due to Akuma. It is carrying the Pope. This is a highest-class priority mission. Please report immeadiately to my office or the Science Department to receive your folder. We’re sending you as fast as possible, and he is relatively close.”

Jacques had just left Angie with the other exorcists as he ran back to his room. The voice was growing stronger: "I will..."
He got to his wooden door, then slowly opened it, waiting for another surprise. But nothing was there. Walking inside, a book laid on the floor. Inside, a small sepia photo of his family, including his sickly mother sat inside the cover. It was the last book his father had given him before he went to the Order: "Beyond Good and Evil." He carefully placed it on the shelf, and mindlessly left the photo on the floor. He ran out the door, grabbing his jacket.
'Lamia, what's going on.'
"It's finally come. The time will be short, but your power will grow, as will your knowledge."
'What are you talking about?'
A voice rose from the lake: "Me."
He walked outside and took a leap off the cliff, then caught himself as he flew forward. Below, Angie and the other three exorcists were running. With a snap of his fingers, they began to float and were moving faster than they had before.
"We'll reach the site in ten minutes at this rate," one Exorcist commented.
Jacques kissed Angie, "Let's get through this. I have to tell you something once we're done."

After receiving their order Angie and Jacques went out to join their comrades. But then Jacques stop and said
“Go on I will catch you later.” Said Jacques will bolt toward his room.
Angie stood a few seconds while he left to then meet the other exorcist. Komui’s warning came again into her mind. She tried to remember when the last time Rashar was talking with her. But since the incident on China Rashar didn’t made an appearance in fact she had been able to control of her Innocence abilities since the trip to Colorado. Soon she spots the other three exorcists that were called to work on the mission.
“So where is Jacques?” asked one of them.
“He told me that we need to go without him that he will meet us on the road to the town.” Said Angie while getting her bag behind her back.
“Then we cant loose much more time. Let’s go!” said the second exorcist.
The group nodded and began to run toward the town of Fracio where some news to fill the rest of the mission will be in order. Angie took her boots and started to run barefoot. She packed another dress in case she had to transform before taking the one she was wearing. With their running Angie calculated at least almost an hour or something before reaching the place. She from time to time took a look back to see if Jacques was following them but nothing.
Starting to get worried Angie didn’t felt her foot leaving the ground until she felt being pulled to the sky. Jacques was up there and for the looks of it he managed to get everyone on the air. He pulled her closed to him and the five began to float toward the town.
"We'll reach the site in ten minutes at this rate," one Exorcist commented.
Angie was silent since she felt something was going on. Holding onto Jacques closely she took a look at his face. The next thing that happened left her speechless since Jacques kissed her, "Let's get through this. I have to tell you something once we're done." Was the only thing he said and she managed to register before arriving to the place.
Once they landed Jacques had to hold her for a bit when he felt she was going to fall on the ground.
“You ok?” he said with a concerned tone.
“Oh yeah its just that I guess the time we spent on the air just made me a bit weak.” She said with a half smile.
“Ok you two break it we need you concentrated on the mission” said one of the Exorcists.
Jacques was going to reply but Angie didn’t let him. Smiling she kissed him back and said.
“Let’s get over with this.”
"Let's get over with this."
Jacques watched ever so slowly; then, he heard gunshots, and a multitude. 'The Pope should have had his own personal exorcist to attend to him; I wonder what happened to him...?'
A handful of people with talismans created a defensive barrier around the Pope. Some of the ground was unsettled, and there was a gross of level one akuma. He dropped everyone into the trees. Two equipment types, and three parasitic types. This battle seemed like it would be simple enough. 'That guard should've been able to handle this... what happened?'
Off to the left, there sat a man, encased in a stone pillar, wearing the uniform of an exorcist. 'Level Threes are hiding underground...'
One hid nearby, and Jacques crushed it while it was still hiding using a gravity-based attack. The ground gave off a slight rumble.
He whispered, "Let's make our presence a little more obvious. Everyone spread out. You three, circle around the left. Me and Angie will stay here and get the attention of the akuma."
As the three others left, Jacques lifted ten of the level threes out of the ground and then crushed them simultaneously. One uttered a few words before he was destroyed, "Help me, Earl-sama."
Angie looked up, "The Earl!"
'Just what we didn't need.'
"Angie, I'm going to get rid of those level 1 akuma, I need you to defend me while I finish."
With an open hand, a seal appeared on the ground below the akuma. The Earl's eyes opened a bit wider at this encounter. Was it who he was looking for? Words were echoing, the incantation of some old magic.
"...Seigneur de Vermillon.”
A flash of lightning in the sky crashed around the Pope's barrier, striking the ground. Then, nothing. The three exorcists looked around, "Was that all that incantation got? Where's the rest---"
Then, a multitude of bolts flew from the ground, destroying most of the level 1s. Only a dozen or two remained floating.
The Earl finally set foot. "Come out my pets~"
With that, five more level three akuma appeared from the ground. Then, the sky became dark with more, all converging to a single point. 'A combined Akuma? Here?!'
"He knows I'm here, I'll go out alone," Jacques whispered.
As he set foot from the shadows of the trees, the Earl had a smile on his face and Lero fully expanded out, hiding something. "I'll keep these three from going to the blender, they're old acquaintances of yours..."
As the umbrella closed, Jacques fell to his knees. 'There's no way... no... please...'
"What did you do, EARL?!" Jacques cried.
"Nothing more than allow for a few desires to take place," The Earl gave playfully as a response.
The voice became louder: "I'll kill this one for you."
'What?'
"You'll have to give him control for it to happen. It's what my role has been for millenia. To find suitable people and bodies for him to inhabit."
A watery form rose from the lake. It had wings, a cloak, strong arms, flowing semi-long hair, and a piercing eye. The water in the lake was gone, all condensed into this form. It flew forward into Jacques' mouth.
Jacques collapsed on the ground. The Earl took note, "This one seems to have taken more shock from this than I thought."
A small black feather came out of his jacket, blown by the wind.

Once they arrived to the place Jacket dropped them on the trees and started giving instructions. Angie kept silent the whole time. Not knowing what to say or do. Part of hear was dreading the situation there were in. The other part just wanted to cling to Jacques clothes and feel his arms around him. Giving a headshake Angie took her position in front of the tree waiting for any akumas to attack them. Since Jacques orders were to protect him while he was destroyed the akumas she just took her bag and leave at the base of the tree along with her boots and clothes. He was taking care of Level 3 like they were mere level ones. Angie didn’t make an effort to fight since Jacques was almost in charge. The other exorcists were taking care of the rest while Angie just made sure Jacques was safe. On the last group of level 3 he destroyed one of them said a few words before being destroyed.
“Help Earl-sama”
A chill run thru Angie’s spine a shadow came in front of her from above. Taking her eyes to the sky she saw a fat man with an unusual umbrella with him.
“The Earl!” the shout just escape her lips without meaning it.
Her body was trembling for an unknown reason.
(Why am I trembling like this? This is not right.) Angie thought.
Jacques came forward while Angie was still looking at the Earl. A group of five akuma came apparently the Earl had a plan as well. Jacques went a few steps ahead of Angie and said.
“He only wants me Angie you stay behind me I wont let him hurt you.”
“But…” said Angie.
“Please do as I say, please.” Was Jacque’s whisper before at least set a distance of one feet between them.
Angie stood behind while the Earl finally with a sinister smile he began to address Jacques and ignored her completely.
"Well this is my gift for you young one for the moment I'll keep these three from going to the blender; they're old acquaintances of yours..." said the Earl while shutting close Lero so Jacques could see the faces of the three akumas next to the Earl.
Angie noticed when Jacques body went stiff as a board a slow trembling came on his body while looking at the akumas. What he meant by that? And why Jacques is suddenly trembling? In a slow motion she heard and saw Jacques falling on his knees.
"What did you do, EARL?!" Jacques cried.
"Nothing more than allow for a few desires to take place," The Earl gave playfully as a response.
Angie’s heart cried for Jacques pain, she couldn’t understand his torment but looking at those akumas something must had linking them with him. The Earl looked please almost happy. Angie tried to move but she felt slow and like not moving at all. This was bad where is Rashar when she needs her? A loud thud on the ground makes her move her head to see Jacques collapsing. Seeing Jacques like that made her snap out of her panic and she runs toward him. Turning him around she managed to hold him on her arms and she began to call his name.
“Jacques please wake up, we need you here come on wake up” she said while trying gently to move him so he can wake up.
“Jacques please…we…we nee…need you. Please…snap out of it. What’s wrong?” by now tears were streaming down Angie’s cheeks and falling on Jacques face.
She still was holding him in her arms. Taking a look at the Earl she spat with all her hatred.
“WHAT YOU DID TO HIM MONSTER???!! ANSWER ME!!!”
“My my this one seems to have taken more shock from this than I thought.” Said the Earl.
“What you mean?” demanded Angie while turning her face to Jacques.
“Oh didn’t you notice? These are his parents and sister. They needed my service and I merely gave them what they asked for. Nothing more nothing less.” Said the Earl while Angie took a terrorized look at him and the akumas with him.
(“His family…Oh My God. How…) her mind stops for the second and the feeling of pain around her body.
Holding Jacques close to her she could only cried while touching her forehead with his.
“I’m sorry Jacques. I’m sorry for not being able to protect you. But I will avenge their death even if this is the last I do.”
Putting Jacques on the ground she activated her Innocence on level two and began to attack the akumas with all her might trying to get to the Earl. Her hatred for the atrocity committed by the Earl gave her necessary fuel to battle. The tears kept falling from her face while attacking the akumas on full force. She never noticed the small black feather that came out of his jacket and was blown by the wind.

A special train, sent by the higher-ups, zoomed across the fields as Jean, and a few other exorcists waited patiently towards their destination.
All this...it is urgent...
Not that the other exorcists accompanying Jean were particularly the best. The Order scrounged around for anyone they could get, Lord knows where the others ones are. Five exorcists, three of them greenhorns.
As the train approached the looming dark cloud Jean let out a sigh.
Here goes..
'Get... out...'
"That's a little hard at this point, boy," a second voice came out.
'Ugh...'
"He seems to have given me control. He'll probably try to get it back later, Lamia."
"I suppose he will."
Angie began charging at the akuma, but just before she got out of reach, Jacques' hand caught her by the wrist. "Jacques!" She shouted.
But something was wrong. Two small bulges were showing on the back of his jacket, which were pointing more and more until it ripped. Angie looked on disturbed. He began to stand up, but his head hung low. When his head finally did lift, it wasn't his usual countenance, but something entirely blank. His eyes became fixated on the Earl and his three pets. One of the akuma spoke, "Jacques, you alright? Because we have to kill you..."
Finally, the bulges on the back of his jacket broke to show a pair of large black wings. He smacked his lips, and his tongue ran over them, “Jacques isn’t here at the moment, but I’ll take a message for him~”
The Earl’s eyebrow peaked; something was strange with this one. He had seen something like this before, but where? Well, if he died, it wouldn’t be an issue. The monstrous akuma behind him was finally complete. The former human before him commented, “It’s been a while Earl, but I suppose that giant akuma behind you is a new parlor trick of yours. I’d say it’s been about two centuries since the last time we met, and I turned down your offer. And I will still turn it down now.”
Lamia appeared, but unlike the times before, the mid-piece in the guard was complete. There stood something that seemed like an eye, an intelligence that served its wielder. He rested it on his shoulder, saying, “I’m going to have to do something about what this guy is stressed about, or I’ll never be able to take full control. I suppose it’s them.”
Lamia was dragged across the ground as the thing formerly known as Jacques walked forward, towards the trio. The daughter began trembling, “Brother… what are you doing… this is mom and dad… they told me to come along… and this scary man…”
“Hush young one. I know what you are, but your parents are not what you are.”
She turned around, crying, as their parent’s faces became a dark grey. Then, a cut pierced the air and nicked the Earl’s exceedingly large chin. “What the?”
Lamia appeared in his other hand. “And now, that’s gone.”
‘You bastard!’
“On the contrare, I did what was needed. I doth think you protest too much.”
‘Screw you,’ Jacques said as he punched himself in the stomach.
“Feisty young one.”
The two beings behind the mother and father burned back into their level zero forms. The Earl seemed a bit surprised by this. The daughter looked as her parents were killed before her, “What have you done… Big Brother…?”
“This body may have belonged to your brother at some point, but it’s mine now. I am Gildriel, one of the Archangels of God. I was sent to be a speaker to the people, but I was locked away. Another person freed me, then pulled out my heart. It now rests in this body, along with the heart of Lamia, my sword. I have been known to carry many names. And the last time I saw you Earl, I left another part of you disfigured.”
The Earl began to chuckle, “I killed you so easily! You’ve come back to try to finish the job?!”
“Yes. But as for your pet back there, sit and watch.”
Several dozen single beams of light appeared out of the clouds above. They imprisoned the beast, then slowly rotated counter clockwise, turning inward. The beast struggled against them, then, as it was squeezed more and more, the beams focused onto one point. A much larger white beam struck at the middle of the converging points, which all stopped. A flattened sphere of light appeared around the combined akuma as it began to disintegrate. Then, a flash. A rush of air, as though it were from an explosion. Then Nothing. Even the trees and grass where the blast took place were gone.
“So, your beast is dead. What will you do now, Earl?”
The Earl looked back, in disgust and fury. “You’ll pay for that one, Archangel.”
“Woman, take care of the child. She’s important to the memory of this man,” Gildriel commented.
Black and purple formed the equivalent of baseballs in the Earl’s hands. He threw them. Gildriel raised Jacques’ free hand, and put it on the gem in the middle of the hand guard, wrapping his wing around his shoulder and to his front. “Protection of the Black Feather,” he muttered.
What appeared as another blast of light… and nothing more. Gildriel ran forward, towards the Earl, as dark clouds gathered overhead. "Let us continue where we last left off..."

Angie was going to attack the Earl and his akumas when she felt someone’s hand grabbing her wrist. Turning around she saw Jacques holding her wrist while something on his back was growing. Specifically two things were trying to find her way out of Jacques jacket. Her body paralyzed at that sight. She tried to understand what really happened but the thought of Jacques being turned into an akuma repulse her. Jacques began to stand still holding her hand the two things finally ripped the jacket letting out a pair of black wings. His head was still low but little by little it went up. His eyes were blank as well as his expression. Part of Angie let a breath of relief but now the question was who he had become? Is he still Jacques Hook?
"Jacques, you alright? Because we have to kill you..." said a voice behind Angie.
She turned in time to see one of the akuma’s saying that statement. Jacques let her hand go and said “Jacques isn’t here at the moment, but I’ll take a message for him”
He passed her and began to engage on a conversation against with the Earl. His tone his attitude. Even his stance let Angie that the person in front of her was no longer Jacques Hook. His human body was the only thing left of him. Angie wanted to say something but her words died in her throat. Soon Jacques killed the two akumas that were supposed to be Jacques parents. Angie noticed that the little girl with them was still human. And that also stood in shock at the sight of Jacques acts. After delivering a power blow that left a void on the place the big akuma was he went back with the little girl in his arms and gave it to her.
“Woman, take care of the child. She’s important to the memory of this man,” Gildriel commented.
She tried to see a trace of Jacques on his face but nothing. The expression on his face was the one of Gildriel the Archangel. Jacques was gone although from time to time he appeared to go against the archangels actions. Angie just stood helpness not knowing what to do but a little soft sobs let her know about the 8 or 9 years old girl in her arms. Taking a look at the poor girl she noticed she was in a huge state of shock. Giving get a reassuring hug she tied to put her to safety but basically the place was a war zone. The other three exorcists managed to put the Pope out of danger but still they were being pursued by akumas. Torn between going for Jacques and her mission Angie cursed her luck. She didn’t want to be there still there was no other option. The first explosions of the battle between the Earl and Gildriel gave her the answer she was waiting for. She soon began to run as fast as she could to put some distance between the line of fire and her. She approached the group and shout between the blast.
“We need to put the Pope into safety come on lets get out of here.”
The group followed her while still having a close formation on the Pope. At the exit of the road they found a large group of akuma’s waiting for them. The group about of 10 akumas ranging from level one to level two’s. Not wasting time Angie left the little girl on one of the finder’s care and aimed her attention to the akumas blocking their path. For a strange reason she didn’t activate her Innocence and decided to attack on human form. The level ones were two slow for her speed and ended up shooting their comrades. Angie;s strategy worked and in no time from 10 akumas only 2 akumas level two remained. The two managed to evade the attacks of the other akumas and now they were in front of her. Knowing that her human form was not of too much user she activated her Innocence and began her battle.
One of the akumas tried managed to reach her with his shoots and soon Angie felt the hunger inside of her. Not loosing her time she dig her teeth on the second akumas and began to devour it while the other akumas stood in fear at the sight. The group just took a refuge inside a house and didn’t look at the scene in front of them. Angie finished one akumas and didn’t mind the shoots on her body soon she took care of the other akuma while her body drench in akuma blood. Once she finishes the akumas went looking for the group and found them. They were hiding on a house a bit further from the scene of the fight. The three exorcists managed to keep everyone safe. Still drench in blood she went to the bathroom and wet herself on the shower. The blood left and all that was left was her damp. Taking a towel she dries as much as she could and took her suit and took the excess of water out. When she went back the stood in the middle of the room waiting for any sign of akumas or smell that will indicate their proximity. Apparently they forgot the group and they were busy with “Jacques”. Just thinking about his transformation send shivers on Angie’s spine.
“Guys take care of the Pope I need to check upon Jacques and help him. Contact the order and let them know we need immediate back up right now. Also please take good care of the little girl she is still in shock. And needs help.” Said Angie trying to sound as calm as she could.
The three men looked at each other and nodded in agreement. “Understood, just take care please.”
“I will, but if in any case you feel the battle is moving toward this house escape immediately to the train station. I will try to see if I can redirect the battle to a place distant from this town. Take care please.” Her last words were a bit of a trembling plea.
She left running for not showing some tears rolling down her cheeks. Her heart was crying and she didn’t want anyone to die. At mid way of her destiny she had to stop since a huge sound wave came on her direction shaking the fragile houses and taking anything a few feet backwards. Using her arms as shields she managed to withstand the wave but when it passed she fell on her knees tired. After a few seconds she went running and when a second wave came her way she managed to hide behind a house. On this occasion some houses went flying leaving only the base. Knowing hers wont last she managed to get as near as possible to the battle. The amount of power was overwhelming the clash between Gildriel and the Earl were to the point that each clash of force results on a sound wave released.
(“If they continue like this the town will be erased from the map in no time. But what can I do to take them out of the town?”) Angie thought.
Looking to the sides she noticed a big log and went for it. Activating her level 2 she took the log without any effort she lifted and put it on her shoulder. Walking as fast as she could she manage to spot a nice place to throw it. Since The Earl and Jacques separated for a brief moment. Angie took the opportunity and threw the log as fast and hard as she could then she runs on a different direction, far from the town.
The log went straight to the Earl who managed to disintegrate before it reaches him. Taking a look at the ground he saw Angie running out of town. Looking at the Archangel the Earl had a evil idea. Aiming his cannon against Angie he took a look at Gildriel and said.
“Well since I can’t have my fun I guess I should see what this little kitty can do against this…” a huge black ball of anti matter was shoot from his arm
The ball began to grow while approaching Angie. The Earl pleased took a look at Gildriel and awaited his reaction.
“Well boy the choice is yours” said the Earl while giving a evil laugh out loud.

He saw Angelique running, just behind her a great ball from the snickering Earl's cannon. Closer, and closer.
A blue bolt of lightning shot out as it struck the ball, causing it to explode. Angelique ducked for cover, as shrapnel from the explosion flew from all directions. She looked back, as she saw the Earl's smile diminish a little, but more importantly, to a familiar face.
"Jean..."
With a slight smile and smoke fading from his extended hand, Jean eyed the Earl, and that being facing opposite him. Could this be Jacques?
Without hesitation, a wave of Akuma flew upwards towards the cliff where Jean was. Zooming in high speeds, they began to attack, as Jean and the small team of exorcists began to activate their innocence shards.
"Innocence, ACTIVATE!!!"
"Chain Lightning!!"
Lightning bounced off numerous Akuma, as Jean ran between them, jumping off the cliff as he activated his level two innocence. Creating a magnetic field beneath his feet, surrounding shrapnel fused together to form a hovering platform, as he zoomed towards Angie, grabbing her as soon as possible.
"You alright there?" he smiled.

Angie felt the ball closing on her. But she didnt dared to look back until she heard the explosion. The ball exploded and she managed to duck and then she saw a familiar face on the cliff.
"Jean..."
She stood seeing when the new group of akumas attacked Jean and his group. He managed to create a huge platform which he used to get near her and grab her.
"You alright there?" he smiled.
"Yes but Jacques he...he is being...possesed by someone. I don't know who he is but we need to help him Jean. Please..." a tear dropped down Angie's cheek while she looked back at Jacques who was ready to strike once again.
"Dont worry we will help him." said Jean patting her shoulder.
A little bit of smoke was seeing from the distance. Tensing like a board Angie tried to jump from the platform but Jean stopped her.
"Were you going?" he asked almost loosing the balance trying to hold up Angie.
"I need to get back to the town, the Pope and Jacques' sister are there. Let me go Jean." said Angie.
"Calm down we need to see what to do first." he tried to calm Angie but on a second she managed to get free.
She landed on her feet and began to run at high speed while activating her Innocence level one. She prayed she arrived in time or she would not be able to forgive herself for failing everyone.
(sorry for the short post I'm at work ^^)
Lamia in the right, Jacques' left hand moved up and grasped his face.
"Haven't gotten control from the Exorcist boy, hm?" The Earl gave in a playful tone.
"No, he hasn't," Jacques' voice rang out. "And you won't be doing that again to Angi---"
"Quiet, Mortal," Gildriel replied. "This one's talented at Magic I hear. Let's see how talented..."
Lamia was swung around the back to help him keep his footing, but what happened next was dissimilar to events before. One Ring, Five Rings, Nine Rings, Thirteen rings. All in a pattern. "If you intend on releasing that here, you'll kill all the townsfolk."
Gildriel replied, "God has a seat for them in the Right Hand of the Father."
"...and those Exorcist friends behind you."
"Treizième Anneau : La Cession De Dieu."
Gildriel shrugged, but then, Jacques gained control and prevented his fist from coming in contact with the formation and from letting it finish. "Stop interfering!"
The Earl took this opportunity to draw his sword. Lamia and the black sword clashed, and a few words were uttered. "Canon de Saint." All the bolts struck the Earl's stomach in rapid succession.
"Well, it seems this is too much for the poor Earl. I'll take my leave, but I'll send you and this town to hell first!" The Earl shouted, creating an enormous amount of dark energy in his hand and throwing it at Jacques. He left into the portal.
"Tsk."
With a sword swing, the shot was cut in half, and vanished. The body stood there, all alone. Amongst a rain of falling black feathers.

On ten giant leaps Angie managed to arrive to the town in no time. The column of smoke was near the house where the refuges were but surprisingly nothing bad happened to the house or them. Outside the place the three exorcists that went with her and Jacques were panting a bit but they look ok.
“Is everyone ok? What happened?” she asked anxious.
“Some akumas tried to attack us but we managed to repel them. The Pope and the little girl are safe inside the house. How is Jacques doing? Is the Earl defeated?” asked one of the exorcist.
Angie couldn’t answer the question since at that moment an explosion was heard and she noticed the Earl being repelled by Jacques or the Archangel she wasn’t still sure who was that new person. After the attack was done the Earl shot a ball of energy and left in the blink of an eye. Everyone saw when Jacques sliced the ball in half and this one vanishes leaving him floating in the air surrounded by a rain of black feathers. Jean arrived in that moment and saw the look of desolation and pain on Angie’s face.
“Are you alright? Angie? Please answer me…” said Jean now more concerned as ever with her silence.
“Yes…I’m ok I need to check on the Pope and the little girl…”she said but she couldn’t take her eyes from the figure alone in the sky.
“Angie, go, he needs you now. Well make sure everyone is safe here. Just go.” Once again Jean squeezes gently her shoulder.
Angie seemed like the whole situation was a nightmare. One she had been trying to wake up for quite a while but that still she couldn’t manage to do it. Feeling numb she began to walk not feeling her feet while walking, after a while she was running as fast as she could until she met with Jacques who was slowly descending until he landed on the ground. When she managed to reach him she halts at the sight of his face. His facial features were empty and his eyes two pool of blackness, no emotion or possible feeling was detected. His posture seemed like one of a doll waiting to be used but lifeless. The wings rested while his sword was still on his right arm.
Gulping a lump on her throat Angie blinks several times to hold back her tears. She could read and smell Jacques from a high distance. His movements and scent weren’t in that body anymore. Instead an aura of divinity was there covering all that was at his hands and expanding. The power leaking thru his body made Angie stops her approach to him. Her body was trembling in fear and pain. The experience was shocking and yet she didn’t want to give up. Jacques was still there waiting to gain back his control and she wanted to know if he was alright. Gathering all her strength she bowed respectfully and asked as firm and serious as she could.
“Please Archangel I request you let me talk with Jacques Hook the owner of the body. I… I want to see if he is alright.” She closed her hands into fist and let them rest on the sides so he could not see them shaking.
She blinked several times to contain her tears. If he was what he claims to be he will grant her wish. But if not she was ready to go any lengths to recover Jacques even willing to exchange her life in order to save his. With her resolve made she awaits the Archangel’s reply.
His face hung low, the black wings fluttering in the wind. The clouds began to retreat, showing a fading sun and the beginning of the nightly veil.
"'He's flushed me out of his head and his right arm, Lamia. And I thought this vessel was completely prepared and broken."'
"Apparently not."
'You know I'm right here listening to you two.'
"'Yes, we do know, you mortal fool.'"
"At least address him as something nicer."
"'Compared to the Archangels, they are all fools.'"
'Woo~ Nice Ego there Buddy. Now if you don't mind...'
Water began to pour out of his other arm. Jacques snapped his finger and froze it. It then broke out and turned into some sort of humanesque thing, with what looked like a sword of water. Jacques took some lightning and disposed of it. Lamia just stood there.
'Imposing my will on someone like you is easy, because you lack your own, beyond your own survival, you emotionless being.'
"'So, you want to incur my wrath... I'll bide my time.'"
The last of a multitude of feathers finally touched the ground. The sun set, and the veil of the night showed its stars. Lamia vanished, becoming a brooch, sitting on his jacket. Jacques walked over to Angie, standing there, his face still looking down. She could see his face due to the streetlights and how dark it was at first; then, as he stood over her, she saw his face clearly. The wings folded in, and Jacques looked up at the sky, his head rolled back. "You know, it was like this the first time we met, under the tapestry of the night sky. It's funny how after such little time, we've come to know each other so well."
He wrapped the large black wings around her and himself, kissing her and saying something that he hadn't been willing or able to say for a long time, "I love you."

Jean stared at the two lovers, Jacques's wings shielding Angie under the vermilion rays of the setting sun. Turning back to the Pope and the little girl, he reassured their safety and suggested they stay and rest for the moment.
Yet the girl did not seem to listen as she began to cry and run towards Jacques.
"Little girl, wait!," the Pope warned with hands reaching out, but stopped to cough from the residue of the debris from the battles before.
"Oi, wait! What did I just tell you!?!" Jean shouted.
Before the child could reach the halfway mark towards Jacques and Angie, a large level three Akuma surfaced from the ground and towered over her, it's mouth charging an alien-green beam. The girl was motionless, even the at of breathing grew hard as she knew she was about to die.
A quick burst of lightning suddenly pierced the Akuma, causing the charged beam to disintegrate, as it turn it's head. On the other end Jean, with ferocious eyes began to chant silently, as the lightning slowly turned into a silver metal, as Jean pulled the Akuma with all his might.
The Akuma was being dragged away from the girl, but tightly clutched the spear with his right hand, opting to crush the damned weapon to pieces. Jean, not giving it any chance, released a strong current of electricity through the silver spear, electrocuting the Akuma inside out.
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRGGGHHHHHHHHH!!!!"
As the night sky finally usurped the sun, the Akuma's eyes glowed sinisterly as it summoned its own army of lesser Akumas, surrounding not only Jean, but the Pope as well. Noticing the gravity of the situation where the Pope was, Jean turned back to check his safety but was caught off-guard as the Akuma fired of a quick beam towards Jean.
"Perish before me, foolish scum."

She felt the moment he came back to his body. Still his face was hanging low like if he was hiding his shame. Her heartbeats became harder and faster the moment she felt his scent and his soul taking back was rightfully his. The clouds gave pass to the dying day which in turn gave birth to the night.
A dark rain of feather was now residing approaching their end. With each step Jacques gave toward Angie less feather were falling until he stood before her. The last feather that fell on the ground announce the new night. A soft chill breeze blew around them making Angie tremble a lightly almost invisible but not for him. She then realized that Lamia was gone and only the black wings were the only reminder of the last hours past events. When the first lights of those streetlights that managed to survived lit Jacques face she managed to see his eyes back to normal. But not at all something new were in them and her heart skip in a second with hope, with happiness.
Spreading his wings he closed the little distance that was left between them and embrace Angie. Now she could look at his face clearly while he took it back and said
"You know, it was like this the first time we met, under the tapestry of the night sky. It's funny how after such little time, we've come to know each other so well." After saying this he wrapped his wings around both and he captured her lips on a kiss.
Angie felt herself light as a feather and warmth like if she could had finally found her place in this vast world. Embracing Jacques back he then said the only thing she was waiting to hear “I love you”. Time stop for a few seconds, before she kissed him again with some tears streaming down her cheeks. When he broke the kiss to wipe her tears she was smiling a big wide smile. Which made him frown confused.
“I’m happy Jacques, I’m so happy that I can’t stop crying of happiness.” She said between sobs and smiles.
Jacques could only smile and kiss again when the sound of a little girls shout took them from their romantic encounter. Angie’s eyes open really big at the sight of the little girl being attack by an akuma level 3. Jean managed destroy the beam but on the process more of them appeared and surround the Pope as well. Acting on pure instinct she broke the embrace gently and then leaps as fast as she could. Jacques was behind her getting ready to fight. When the akuma shoot his beam time began to run slow for Angie she had to decide between hurting the akuma or block the beam with her body. She didn’t hesitate for a second and putting all her strength on that leap she managed to push Jean to the side while she felt the beam shoot on her body. The impact made her smash against a wall, she didn’t lost consciousness but she knew the direct impact damage her bad. She tried to move but her body didn’t respond. The sound of steps approaching let her know her predator was coming for her. Grabbing her hair the akuma lift her while she coughs some blood. Apparently some ribs were broken. Her vision began to fail her and the blurry image of the akuma became darker and out of focus. The akuma amused at the speed of this mere human decided to have some fun with her before killing her.
The akuma then began to scream in pain. Something had just pierced its skull and hit the wall behind it. A small black feather stuck into the wall, giving off a white glow. "Let her go," Jacques said as he walked forward.
As he approached, his middle and index finger were fully extended, the rest of his hand clenched into a tight ball. A thin blade of holy energy began about a centimeter from where his fingers came to a point. One wing was swept over his shoulder, going down below his knee, so that you could not see half of his face or chest, nor his arm or thigh. Grabbing the middle of the small round blade, he threw it at his enemy, hitting it in the forehead. The akuma fell to the ground, and Jacques rushed over to help Angie.
Several akuma were gliding in the air behind him as he picked up Angie. Several more feathers found their target and they exploded as if they were nothing. Kissing her, he walked over towards the Pope, Jean, and his little sister. "I'm sorry for scaring you, lil' sis. Will you forgive me for all the bad things I've done?"
"Yes, I will," she replied with a faint smile.
Nothing more than a glance, the Pope began to praise Jacques. "Oh, holy warrior. What ye has done haft saved many. For without one, the rest would fall out of balance---"
Jacques pointed right at the elderly man. "I have no time for your old Renaissance theories. Nor should you be doing this either. You've stolen so much from many families, in the name of your holy war against the Earl. But WHERE IS THE JUSTIFICATION?! Hm?!"
"How dare you raise your voice against me, a select---"
"You were not chosen by God. Nor was I. Who was? The Rich Merchant? The poor beggar? I say those who were chosen by God are those who DON'T take part. Who have NOTHING at stake and AREN'T affected by the flotsam!"
"And what act did thou thinkest I commited?"
Jacques calmed down, "The act of objectifying your fellow man. You have turned those valuable men, those who aren't blessed with a weapon to fight, into your personal shield, nothing more than men in a line to be shot down so that you may live."
The Pope retorted, "Even a King doesn't sit at the front lines of battle. He knows such is foolishness---"
Jacques interrupted, "You are no king! You are 'chosen' by God to release the masses to do his will, are you not? You've stolen much from me and my father. Shall I recall the items that have now become your effects?!"
The Pope showed a matter of concern on his face, "Those who tithe to the church have nothing to fear. They are showing their gratitude towards God---"
The atmosphere has suddenly changed and Jacques became sober, "You haven't revealed the prophecies to the people yet, have you?"
"What prophecies? What are you talking about?"
"The people know nothing, yet you force others to continue to subdue them. You are nothing more than a tyrant. What of the slaughter in Albe? The Genocides of villages... Do you have nothing to say for yourself. What of those who have died?" Jacques let out a soft whimper.
The Pope was struck dumb. "We do what we must. And for those who do not follow, we can do nothing."
"So, you only provide for those who are deemed worthy."
"Yes. We do," The Pope turned away, motioning to Jean that he was taking his leave.
"You are a Judas priest, tending to yourself while you betray another," Jacques muttered.
The Pope turned around, "Did you say anything?"
"Nothing."
Jacques silently carried Angie along with them.

Angie felt herself floating the place she was all white and warmth. When her feet touched what appears to be the ground she took a look around. There was nothingness. Everything was void and blank. At first she didn’t register the feeling but then the fear took form and desperate to find a way out she began to run to any direction. But she never found her way out. Her heart was beating fast and she felt lonely she was trembling scared when a pair of black wings surrounds her and she felt Jacques arms hugging her from behind. Turning around she smiled at him and sighs relived. Closing her eyes she felt the sun rays caressing her face.
She woke up to find herself on the bed of the infirmary. Her bed was next to the window and it was already early in the morning. Focusing her sight she found that her left hand was hold by Jacques he was sleeping next to her sitting on a chair. He was holding her had firmly and Angie couldn’t help but the feel happy to see him. After passing out she didn’t knew what happened, but she gather they went back to the Order and she was took care on the infirmary. It surprised her how Jacques managed to stay since he clearly stated he hated it. Squeezing his hand a bit she caress softly his hair before bending a bit kiss his forehead.
“Jacques wake up you need to go to your room and rest. Please wake up” she said in a whisper.
Jacques stir up and smile when he saw her face near him. Giving her a soft kiss he said “Good morning. How you feel? The doctor were worried since you didn’t woke up immediately, but then they found out that the whole stress from the mission also worn you out as well as the hit.”
Angie kissed him back and replied “I’m ok just a bit tired but I guess my healing increase a bit since I don’t feel pain at all.”
Jacques nodded and was going to say something when Komui called to his office.
“I will be back in a minute. I guess is my scold for the way I treated the Pope.” With another kiss he left leaving Angie with a lot of questions, a smile and blushed face.
((Sorry for the short post but I have some heavy stuff tomorrow. Take care *hugs*))
'Seems I won't be getting rid of you anytime soon.'
"'Heh. You're right about that. Once your hold on me lessens, you'll be in for a very nasty surprise."'
"Sorry, but I'm with the human on this one."
"'Eh?!"'
'There's always more to a ship than its specifications, Archangel.'
"'Well, you aren't a ship.'"
He entered Komui's office, where a certain supervisor awaited him. "You know they won't forgive this so easily, Jacques."
"I realize. I knew the implications when I began speaking to the Judas Priest."
"You're already on dangerous grounds, Jacques, I wouldn't tread on them anymore."
"I've never really supported any religion. Its all a joke."
"Well, I'll let you keep your convictions. But when the next inspection comes up, be prepared."
"I already am."
Lenalee walked in with some coffee. "Who's that?"
"Hello there Lenalee," Jacques greeted with a smile.
"Hello~," she replied. "I didn't know who you were with those large black wings."
"It's quite alright," Jacques took a cup of coffee off the tray. "Please take care of your brother. I've upset him."
"I'm not upset so much as worried, Jacques," Komui mentioned. "You'll have a tough road ahead of you."
"So is the life of an Exorcist," Jacques retorted.
"If you see Jean, have him come up here. I need to speak to him about the mission and get his account from him."
"Sure thing."

Convincing the doctor’s to let her go from the Infirmary was a bit more complicated than Angie thought. The wounds were already healed and she only was a bit hungry. But when stomached roars like a Lion the doctors just cringed in fear and let her go. Smiling and bowing a thank you Angie went to get something to eat at the dinning hall. On her way she met with some other fellow exorcist who asked her how she was and that they were glad she was ok. Sometimes Angie felt embarrassed at the sights of this good wishes and all she could managed to do was to smile and hugs.
After a time she still was trying to get to the hall when she bump into the Pope who appeared to be lost.
“Oh sorry sir didn’t saw you I was a bit distracted, please forgive me.” Said Angie embarrassed at her clumsiness.
“Its ok my child I’m alright you couldn’t possible harm me by a simple bump. But I was also lost and in the need to locate the dinning room. I’m a bit hungry.” Said the Pope with an apologizing smile.
“I can take you there your holiness since I’m on my way there.” Said Angie with a huge smile knowing this could repair the damage done by the bumping.
“God Bless you child. Lead the way for this old man servant of God.” Said the Pope.
Both went silent enjoying the sounds of the place. Once they arrived to the place the Pope was immediately served while Angie bowed in respect and proceed to do the line. A few seconds later the Pope decided to join her on the line to the surprise of everyone. Angie smiled happily and asked the Pope about his favorite dishes and how the cooking on the Order worked. The dishes were ordered and both sited together talking about food, nature and sometimes about the incident where the Pope was attack. The food arrived and while the Pope was enjoying his dinner Angie was just eating at high speed her rations. A total of 50 bowls of rice with eel were served making the Pope stop eating and watch the little woman eating with such pleasure that it was almost unreal.
“Young lady how could you eat that much?” asked the Pope with an amazed face.
“I have a parasite Innocence when I don’t eat akumas I need to eat like this to maintain my energy levels high. Its ok today I wasn’t that hungry sometimes I managed to eat almost 100 dishes.” Said with a smile.
“Just… amazing. I gather you and the other exorcist are a couple right?”
“You mean me and Jacques? I…well… you see the thing is…”Angie stuttered the words out but in the end she shut up and looks at the empty plate before her all blushed up.
The Pope smiled softly the girl seemed pure and gentles something that in contrast with her Innocence was rare. Like the ying and yang on the Middle East beliefs. He continues his meal until he said.
“Don’t be embarrassed my child it’s ok to be in love. Maybe you could tame that wild angel for us. He is a strong opinionated one. But I believed he is kind also. Don’t you think?”
“Yes, he is kind and have a strong personality when he defends his believes. I would like to hug him now since his parents were killed by the Earls nasty contracts.” Suddenly she put her hands on her mouth and blushes to a dark red.
The Pope understood her mistake and promised not to tell anyone about it. Angie smiled relieved and took a look at the Pope. Apparently the man looked older than before, the years seemed to be noticed now that she managed to examine him a bit more calmly. The man before her was not only an icon of the church but he was also a tired old man. Perhaps a holy life got a high price to pay. She noticed Jacques didn’t appeared to eat maybe she could get him some food. She thanked the Pope for being her company during the meal and went to the kitchen to prepare Jacques his favorite dishes. Knowing him a bit more now she managed to prepared him some dishes he might love. With her basket all full she began to search for him and on her way to the training grounds she found him on the tree that they always had meals together.
With a smile she approached him until she stopped next to him. Jacques didn’t hide his gloomy face and he just hugged her briefly before returning to his stare into the space in front of him.
“Jacques what’s wrong? Is everything ok with you and Komui?” she ventured to ask.
“I’m sorry Angie but not in the mood to talk about it. Please just leave me alone for a few hours and I…” Jacques stomach decided to roar on that moment to remind him he had been a lot of hours since he took the coffee at Komui’s office without eating something. Angie smiles and put the basket down she began to take the food out and Jacques saw his favorite dishes. Another growl made him seat and start eating without saying something until he found that one of his dishes was missing and ingredient. He complained a bit and Angie noticed that and took note. Apparently something happened and although he didn’t wanted to talk about it his mood revealed how annoyed and upset he was about it. Angie decided to please him until his demands went a bit too far. For any detail he was just complaining for all. He reached to the point that it was annoying Angie a lot. Standing up she went to him and took his face on her hands and give him a long kiss.
Jacques just surprised by her action just responded to the kiss until they had to break up by lack of air.
“Now are you are going to complain about that too?” said Angie panting.
Jacques surprised by the question noticed that his mood really upset Angie but the kiss just took him by surprised. He just closed his eyes and started to laugh. For some reason Angie’s bold move made him laugh with pleasure and once he calmed down he gave Angie a look and said.
“You never ceased to surprise me Angelique Schwartz. That’s what I admire about you.” He hugged her and apologize “I’m sorry for being a bit too difficult I…”
Angie put her two fingers on his lips and shut him up “I know something happened on the office that had to do with the mission. And I know that you are upset about it. But you are not alone Jacs you no longer have to bear the pain alone. I’m here and I am with you now. I love you and I won’t leave you. Just remember “No matter what happens right?” she said taking a good look at his eyes and waiting for an answer.

Jean wandered the halls of the building after finally escorting the Pope to the Order. Puzzled by the strange happenings between Jacques and even Angelique, he sighed as he climbed down the stairs.
"Feeling a bit left out, aren't we?" Joan's voice echoed in his mind.
"You enjoy seeing me like this, admit it..." Jean smiled back.
"Oh who knows..."
"At least the Pope seems safe, mission completed.....right?"
"I'm not the exorcist here, I'm just your weapon."
"You make it sound that I'm heartless.."
Jean stopped as he heard the voice of the Pope outside the Dining Hall. Deciding to check how he was doing, he instead stumbled into Jacques and Angie caught up in a romantic moment.
"Ugh...well this is awkward...."
Jacques looked over with Angie's finger still on his mouth. "Hey Jean, come over here!"
While he walked over, he kissed Angie on the cheek and whispered into her ear, "I'll do my best not to leave you either."
"'You've promised to two women now. What are you going to do~?"'
'I'll handle it like I always have.'
Jean was near the group, and cleared his throat loudly. "Right..." Jacques let out.
Then, in the spur of the moment, he began to give Jean a noogie. Angie just let out a short muffled laugh. "So, what's up? Komui wanted you upstairs, but that can wait. Let's sit down and chat. Anything you want to talk about?"

She covered her mouth and laugh a bit.
"So, what's up? Komui wanted you upstairs, but that can wait. Let's sit down and chat. Anything you want to talk about?" asked Jacques while releasing Jean from his grasp.
"Well I'm ok, just wanted to know how the Pope was. And how are you feeling Angie? Thanks for taking that beam you..." Angie didnt let him finish.
"Its ok Jean I'm fine. And I dont mind you are like family and for my loves ones I will risk my life for them." she finished giving him a hug.

((LMAO!!! xDD))
Joan's voice echoed throughout Jean's head, laughing at the unexpected situation moments before, ocassionally gasping for air. Which was strange itself, one would think a dead spirit didn't need to breath.
The three sat down after Angie's greeting. Jean stared at Angie's eyes, then looked down after a second.
"Well you really didn't have to, you were one of the more injured-.."
"As I said, it was nothing," Angie gave a firm smile.
The trio burst into a light conversation as the couple finished their meal. After a long silence, Jean turned his eyes to the side, noticing how frequently the couple dominated the conversation, as he began to stand up.
"Sorry to cut it short, but as you said Komui called, and it's best for me to go there now....i'm sure he'll forget whatever it was he has in store after another five minutes.."
"Ah yes," Jacques sighed, "It'll get lost in the never ending pile of papers soon enough."
As Jean said his goodbye and exited the door, he just caught sight of the Pope turning around the corner to his left.
"Someone's a workaholic..."
"Well you know Komui....plus I'm not much of a people person remember?"
Jean continued down the hall and turned to his right, slowly opening the door to Komui's office.
Komui:
"Hello there Jean!" Komui shouted, shaking the rock walls.
"You might want to get that fixed," Jean replied.
"Well, don't worry too much about it. What you should worry about is the item I'm about to give you. The Pope had to leave the Vatican in order for the trade to happen, despite all his best efforts mind you, to pick up~ This!" Komui held up a small glass box. But what was inside the box was more interesting than the box itself. It gave off a harsh strength, as though it were a way to give Victory itself to those who wanted it. "It was meant to be brought here for our science department to investigate, because he hates having something belligerent in the Vatican. Well, except for his personal army. That aside, you're going to hold onto that for me Jean!"
With the box shoved onto him, Jean attempted to ask questions to no avail. Komui pressed him out the door.
-----------
Jacques:
The Pope ran hurriedly by as Jacques and Angie stood there. Dropping a sheet of paper, the Pope kept walking, despite Angie's best efforts to notify him. Angie picked up the paper and offered it to Jacques, who refused. "I need to go to my room for a bit and rest. I'm more tired than usual."
Smiling, Jacques slowly walked off. Up one set of stairs and down another, the Order couldn't make a very good floorplan. He opened the door, a peculiar man sat before him in his room. "Hello there, Jacques. Mind the little gift?"
"Cross..." Jacques bellowed as the door to his room closed behind him.

"Now what am I going to do with this?"
Jean carried the box outside the hall, unsure of what Komui just told him to do. Was he meant to bring it to the Science Department? Why would Komui need him to do it? Or was he meant just to keep it himself?
Whatever it was, Jean could feel a strong presence resonating from the parcel.
Would you have an idea, Joan?
No answer.
Having been lost in his thoughts, Jean did not notice he took a wrong turn somewhere in the maze that was the Order, as he found himself in a hall of exorcist rooms. Only a single door was open, the others unoccupied- all exorcists who are around the world completing all sorts of missions.
"Cross..." a voice echoed, followed by the sound of a door closing.
Jacques?
"So, what brings you here on this... most pleasant visit?" Jacques said sarcastically.
"Haven't lost your hatred for me yet, have you boy?" Cross replied. "Or your hatred of the Pope from when you found out about it. I hear all the whispers around the Order. Some are worried you'll hurt them next, or bring about the Pope's damning sentence upon you. Who knows?"
"I dare damnation. To this point I stand, that both the worlds I give to negligence, let come what comes," Jacques replied.
"When sorrows come, they come not single spies but in battalions, you best keep it in mind, Jacques," Cross replied, swirling the wine in the glass he held.
"I'm prepared."
"Well, if that's the case, I suppose I should put you to your next phase," Cross tossed out. He stood from his chair, one finger glowing. Before Jacques had time to react, it pressed against his chest. Jacques fell limp, hitting the ground with a hard thud. "Sleep well, my pupil. When you awake, things will be different. Just in case, I left you a handy little note. And another one for your friend outside. Enjoy~ <3 Magna Carte."
Cross vanished in time for the door handle to be jiggled, and the door thrown open.

((Short post on my part. Dont know if I'm going to be included on this last part so feel free to use Angie. I will be out for a couple of days so I will love to see what you guys have in store ^^))
Jacques left Angie with the paper on her hands. She decided to go to look for the Pope and give it back. She went down the hall and started to look for him. After what it seemed an eternity she found him near the main entrance of his room.
“Sir, wait! You drop this!”
The Pope turns around to see Angie waving a piece of paper to him. The man halts and waited for the little woman to reach him. Angie finally catch up and with a smile delivered the piece of paper to his owner.
“Thank you young lady. I didn’t know I drop this.” Said the Pope with a smile.
“Your welcome Sir. I just hope everything is alright.” Said Angie cheerfully.
The two engaged on a small conversation until the Pope was called for a meeting. Wishing Angie good luck the old man bid his farewell and Angie as always gave him a hug which surprised him greatly. He smiled gently and waves. Angie sighs happily and decided to go to the dinning hall and help Jerry with the cooking. She hums a soft tune while still having a huge smile on her face. From time to time she giggled softly and cover her mouth with her hand. She felt silly but her good humor was contagious and as soon as she entered the dinning hall everyone noticed her happy mood. Jerry was grateful to see her and soon she was engaged on the kitchen making dishes for everyone.
'"Finally, I can leave!'" The Archangel shouted. His watery form began to disappear as the lake returned to its normal state and some sort of monstrous laughing ensued.
Jacques had no intention of stopping him.
He awoke in the training grounds, a hand coming down to his chest. He rolled to the right, barely dodging it. What appeared in front of him was the Archangel.
Jacques, hopping to his feet, looked at the Archangel, who summoned something like a crimson version of Lamia. Jacques did the same, creating the silver and platinum that he had made countless times before.
"Give me my heart!" It shouted. "I require my magic to kill!"
Launching itself at Jacques, it came with sword in hand. Then stopping at some pre-determined range, it thrust its hand against the ground, and ice moved through it, striking Jacques and holding his legs in place. Pointing his finger, the Archangel created a lightning bolt that hit Jacques' legs, creating a lot of pain.
"Treizième Anneau : La Cession De Dieu," Gildriel cried. Thirteen Rings formed in front of the Archangel's left hand, which he then struck with his right. A light, with encroaching darkness within it, threw itself towards Jacques. Unknowing, Jacques tried throwing himself out of the way, but it followed. Thrusting his sword into the ground, wrapping his wings around his front, and chanting, he took the blast head-on.
Smoke enveloped the room. "Heh... heh... heh... Seems I won't have trouble reclaiming what is mine," it said as it approached. But... nothing was there except Lamia.
He looked around, but couldn't see anything.
"Trou Noir," A voice said in the room. The smoke began to concentrate on that one point, as though it were pulled it. Then, all the Archangel saw was a small darker than black place in Jacques' hand. "Illusion or not, I'm alive."
Throwing the immense point gravity, it veered through the room, nicking the Archangel at least twice.
Then, it stopped. "Time for me to take my leave. Seems that something... which should have been forgotten... wasn't."
"The World is divided in two. Victory for some should not occur. It is time to create the old balance," he said.
Jacques stood there, "Create the old balance?! Death surrounds us, and yet you want to create that again?! We need something to know what something else is for comparison, but at what point did it become justifiable to do what you're suggesting?!"
The walls shook. Thirteen rings forged themselves around Jacques' arm. His eyes widened and pupils dilated. Something was changing. Something inside of his was new... different... unexpected. He clutched his chest with his free arm, pointing his other fist at the figure before him.
"Die."
The shock destroyed the boundries between a few of the various training areas.
Jacques felt his arm go a little limp. He clapped his hands together. A strange power flowed through. 'What is this...?'
The spheres on the back of his hands sank through, causing him immense pain.
Lamia's voice changed, "It wants to know, will you carry the burden? Will you become willed as you were before? Where is your courage and compassion? Dead?"
'I will become the staff that holds up myself and those around me. I will guide the others.'
"This is insufficent. I will call forth another time. Be prepared then."
The spheres were pulled back. The energy between his hands dissipated. The Archangel he was fighting stood before him. "I can't have that, can I...?"
He sank into the ground, becoming one with it.
Jacques took the long winding stair up. 'I will protect them. I will protect her.'
"Gott is tot," a whisper echoed through the halls.

Humming a soft tune Angie walked thru the hallway with a big basket of food. Since helping Jerry at the kitchen during most part of the day she stopped thinking and enjoyed helping others. From time to time she just let a few wide smiles escape her lips when she thought about Jacques. Remembering his confession made her feel butterflies on her stomach. Jerry didn’t ask her since he noticed that when she got spotted she just turned red as a tomato and burry herself on work. He just let her be and from time to time share cooking tips with her. An hour later he kicks her out of the kitchen so she could rest some after hearing about her move on the mission. Jerry gave a bit basket enough for a lot of people and a bottle of wine.
Angie bid her farewell and went walking in direction to Jacques’ room. On her way she thought about what her future on the order might be. Now she was not alone. She might have to consider some situations now that she found someone who cared about her the way Jacques cared. She didn’t noticed when she began to hum the song that didn’t distract her of finding Jacques sitting on the floor at the edge of the stairs near the underground training room. From a far no one might noticed his condition. But Angie could spot the dust on his face and clothes. Accelerating her pace she went to him and noticed he got his eyes closed. His face reflects exhaustion and to certain extends pain. But also some peace.
“Jacques? Are you ok? Please answer me wake up…” whispered Angie while cupping his face with her hands.
Jacques frown a bit then went back to normal face. Angie saw the spots of dirt and she wondered what happened to him. After a couple of more tries to wake him up Angie couldn’t help it and lick his cheek. Startled Jacques awoke at the sudden lick. Angie was red as a tomato but also couldn’t help it and giggled. Jacques on the other hand touched his wet cheek and looked puzzled to Angie.
“You did what I think you did?” he asked still puzzled by her actions.
“Yes I did I didn’t thought you will awake like that. Are you ok? I found you sitting here asleep and looking like a tornado just passed you by.” Said Angie softly since she still was embarrassed.
Jacques had to smile. Indeed this woman was a box full of surprises. Standing up he smiled a bit and then said.
“Ok let me get clean and then we can go to eat again.” Extending his hand to Angie.
Smiling Angie took it and gave Jacques the basket. Together they went to a fountain near the entrance of the order and there Angie took a handkerchief and started cleaning Jacques face. She did the task gently and with loving care. Jacques enjoyed it and share the silence with her. He didn’t want to ruin the moment and when she was done he hugged her and holds her for a couple of minutes.
“Thanks” was the only thing he said before falling in silence.
He still was holding Angie when the breeze began to play softly with her dress and hair. For them words seemed too much at that time. Angie knew that if Jacques needed her she was there for him. Breaking the embrace she then went to put the blanket on the grass and take out the food. Jacques help her and grinned when he saw the bottle of wine.
“Hey that’s my favorite… how did you know?” he asked surprised.
“I had dinner with you before and in some occasions you had said it out loud. So since I have good memory I got it stuck. But this time it was Jerry’s idea. I spent a good part of the day on the kitchen helping him.” She said a bit embarrassed.
“I will go thank him later.” Said Jacques while taking a glass of wine and tasting it.
Although they managed to eat in a friendly atmosphere Angie noticed that something was troubling Jacques. But she decided to leave him the decision to him. He knew she was there for him no matter what the outcome will be. After dinner they fell into a soft conversation until Angie felt tired and fell asleep next to Jacques. He just smiled and kissed the top of her head. Then his face took a soft hint of sadness tracing her cheek with his fingers Jacques hugged Angie and lost himself on his thoughts while having her sleeping next to him.
The nightmare over, things returned to normal, or as normal as they get. Angie and Jacques seemed pleasant, and Jean still had in his possession a single note signed by Cross. He would reveal the information. But that would be saved for another day though.
