* Note: We would like to apologize about the following:
1.) We have the mispelled word, "Pole" above. It should have spelled, "Poll" instead.
2.) We currently don't have a CBNL MOTM at the moment. As editors, we need to take our time to decide who will be the next MOTM.

EDITORIAL
I would like to inform you that Mirage has stepped down as CBNL's Editor-In-Chief due to her personal matters. However, she will remain as one of the editors to contribute in the newsletter. Currently, we are still deciding on who will be the next ed-lord. But don't worry! :) The next ed-lord will identify after we (editors) agree on who it is.
One more thing, we are trying our best to make this issue possible. So, thanks staff for your contributions and efforts.
Anyway, let's talk about this month of love. hehe.
Are you in a relationship? Hehe... What do you want to do? Just a little bit of advice for guys and girls who in this relationship (I actually watched Rachel Ray yesterday).
For guys: Give the right type of boquet to your lovely girlfriend. Prepare it in advance by going on the flower shop. This way, you may choose which ones the best to give it to her. Or, you can ask your girlfriend what kind of flower she wants. Just do it in advance. lol. By the way, always include a little greeting card with love messages in it. Girls like that and they like to be love.
If you don't have enough budget to buy an expensive boquet, it's okay. You can still buy a cheap boquet of flowers with nice arrangements. The most important thing is your girlfriend's appreciation.
As usual, treat your girlfriend to the movies or take her to dinner. Make the moment memorable. And don't forget the gift.
For Girls: If you're in a stable relationship with your boyfriend, give him hugs and kisses to thank him for his love to you. Also, give him the gift that he usually like. It's pretty obvious.
On the side note, be thankful to your boyfriend if he takes you out on a date. If you and your boyfriend can't date on Valentines Day due to your jobs, then you can date before or after Valentines. The important is your time together - alone.
And finally, I simply can't forget the singles out there!
My simple advice is to try to cheer yourself up. Don't believe that you're a loser just because you don't have a boyfriend or girlfriend. If you are dumped by him or her for no apparent reason, then be positive and think that you worth yourself even more. But before meeting others, try to heal yourself. Get yourself back on track. Try shopping, work-out or soul-sreaching. Then, if you're ready, you can date other people.
That's all Folks!
- Yukoshi_Kin
P.S.
Mirage -> You've been a good ed-lord... and you're GORGEOUS! ^_^ V'
edit: Sorry for the lateness of this issue.

ANIME REVIEW
Review by Demon Lord/Kohaku <3
As someone who enjoys watching anime, I love to share the series that I’ve enjoyed with anyone who wants to listen. This time, I’m going to share with you guys one of my favorites, one that is not well known.
Seirei no Moribito (Guardian of the Sacred Spirit)
Kamiyama Kenji
Production I.G.
http://i32.tinypic.com/2eyvts5.jpg
I had decided to watch this series after seeing it mentioned in ANN’s spring 2007 preview. At the time, I was searching for an action series and was instantly captivated by the plot and episode title picture.
Production Information:
Seirei no Moribito is an anime adaptation of the first volume of “Moribito”, a ten volume series written by Uehashi Nahoko. It was directed by Kamiyama Kenji, and produced by Production I.G.; both are well known as the people behind the Ghost in the Shell: SAC series.
Plot Summary:
Balsa, a wandering spear-woman, works as a bodyguard in order to save eight lives to atone for the eight souls who were sacrificed in her past. One day, she saves the prince of the Yogo Empire, and was burdened to protect the prince from those who seek his death. Along with protecting the prince, Balsa must find out the reason behind the prince’s situation, all the while raising him as his guardian.
Review:
The first episode was a hit. The first few minutes of the episode provided everything that’s necessary to draw viewers in. Right away, I was able to see that both the animation and music were top notch, easily comparable to that of high budget movies, as expected from those responsible for GITS: SAC. Both the plot and the main characters were briefly introduced as well.
As an adaption to a fantasy novel, Seirei no Moribito stayed conservative with its story. Their world is people driven, and the supernatural is toned down to the level of religion and prophecies. Like the title states, the plot has to do with a spirit. In this case, it’s a water spirit that brings precipitation and fertility to the land. Although conservative, and somewhat slow, the execution and character development keeps it from being boring.
There’s a reason behind each scene, and nothing is wasted.
One of the most important factors in an action series is the animation. When we watch fight scenes, we want more detail, more logical movements, and less DBZ. Seirei no Moribito delivers animation quality that exceeds these expectations, and would wow anyone. In fact, the third episode contains the best fight scenes that I’ve ever seen. The execution was absolutely stunning, and I was completely amazed.
The voice acting in this series is quite interesting. Most of the voice actors/actresses are not well known, and the two main characters’ VAs have appeared in only a couple of other anime series. However, the voices were all very well done, and fitting for their roles.
Seirei no Moribito had a solid cast of characters. Most of the focus were on Balsa and Chagum (the prince), while the supporting characters were there as support for the main characters. The characters were developed very well, and there were no questions about them that were left unanswered. As the series progresses, the viewers were able to relate more and more with them and understand the reasoning behind events and actions.
Overall, Seirei no Moribito is truly a great watch. It gave the feeling of a movie, while lasting 26 episodes. Why read a book when you can enjoy it animated? The blending of fantasy, reality, nature, and humanity was able to produce something that is able to appeal to anyone, especially those who holds overall execution with high importance. Because it was licensed early in the season, Seirei no Moribito is not very well known. If you haven’t seen it already, I strongly recommend this to anyone.

Your choice, your rock.
Review by Scorchy <3
Recently, in the Lounge section of CB, we placed a small thread regarding CB's preffered genre of rock. This is the result.
Despite us hoping for a slightly greater response from the citizens of CB, the feedback and willingness of certain members is greatly appreciated.
The choices that were available on the poll were:
Folk Rock
Hard Rock/Heavy Metal
Punk Rock
Alternative Rock
Indie Rock
Other
Each participant was asked to choose their preferred type of rock music and then asked to give their own small piece on why they choice the particular genre.
The results we received gave us the finished outcome that Death Metal and Heavy Metal were the most popular versions of rock, though the other choices were all voted for, these two particular genres stood out.
We also asked the voters to list their reasons why they liked the genre and other comments regarding the poll. We decided to take some of their posts and display it here for you to read why they voted for what they voted:
Mr. Killa:
"Brutal breakdowns and intricate solos, head banging sub-bombs & fist flying double bass. blast beats so fast youll faint and sick squealies all the way through. Its the most brutal type of music out there and theres just something about it that makes me feel apart of it. If you dont like the singing, thats cool.. just listen to the guitar and the drums and youll still appreciate the talent needed to be a hardcore/deathmetal star"
Kensei_Viz:
"...easy-to-listen to songs are good for that aspect too of being relaxed lol. I like the songs that keeps me feeling good and not making me feel down in the dumps too much."
Borealis:
"It pounds you down like a sledgehammer to the chest with it's rhythmic gore. Thus you just can't help but love getting mauled over and over again by the heavy sound, leaving only smashed bits of your corpse behind. I know I sound like some kinda masochist faggot, but the sheer brutatlity just makes you crave for more and more. An excellent adrenaline boost!"
To finish off this small piece, we'd like to thank all those who participated and even those who bothered to check out the small thread.
Rock on!

The Great Divide
Compiled by kensei_viz
Which is the more ideal lifestyle: The City Life or The Country Life?
==================
Maes
- Define your use of "country". I personally prefer a more rural environment; peace and quiet, the level of "dumbass" is significantly lower, and it's far enough away that no one can ever hear them scream.. *finger pyramid of doom; evil grin* *glances at Undying* I don't know why I looked at you while I was saying this, but I thought you would appreciate it.
===================
Lear
- Well, I wish I could choose... I guess the country life, although I prefer town life. I don't enjoy spending my days with cows, but I don't like crowds. Also, I love small towns because almost anywhere you go you might see someone you know.
I guess it's kind of an in-between choice...
Glad I could help.
==================
Trainer001
- I would say the city life because having a city life is actually more fun then being in a country life. In a city, you can find all sorts of stuff but when in a country situation I doubt you could do anything that could kill time like posting on internet :} City life may be more safe from sickness and illnesses. The two areas have very different surroundings and stuff.
==================
Dope_Hat
- Well...I pick "The City Life".
I live on the country...and it's a pain in the a**!
Before I had my driving lisence my parents had to drive me everywhere because the busses didn't drive regularly.
Which also means that I had to hope my parents were at home [they have to work a lot...so it was almost never the case].
The Country Life is boring. True...you can go for walks and it isn't so noisy...but that's about it. You can do nothing else.
The City Life is much more exciting compared to it - when you want to go out you go out - you don't have to hope that your parents will be at home to drive you in the city.
==================
deto
- Country Life, horses and kite running, cowboys and s*** ya know?
==================
WerzMyBankai?
- For me the City life is the way forward. I have never really stayed in the country side so the idea of slow internet, lack of people to talk to and generally not much happening doesnt strike me as fun. Besides have you ever seen the chicks in the country side? *shivers in fear*
I may end up liking the country side if I get old, infact when I grow old, no sex drive, no social life and mentally inactive, country side may seem interesting. With the way I am I will die before I become old enough to think like that.
==================
momo-taichou
- "I'm from a city but it's very small.
I like the feeling of knowing everyone in your community. I also like how when you go out with your friends they are the type of friends that you grew up with. And i like how you can walk down your street and know each neighbor by name. I don't think I would fit in..in a big city. It's not for me. The type of lifestyle I want isn't in the city. But i would want to see what it is all about..
I mean i wouldn't want to go through life without trying something new."
-momo-taichou
==================
Alone
- In my opinion, neither. I like the suburban life. But if I had to chose from one of those, I would chose city life. It's much more fun and has important places such as grocery stores and hospitals that are very close unlike the country life. Country life is too independent for me.
==================
Spirit Rubi
- The City Life, ftw.
Why? Because who would want to live in the country with a bunch of farms (well, I guess that's a reason to live there but not me in a million years. D: ), no shopping centers, nothing close by, etc. You probably get the picture. Those country singers also creep me out completely. They're just so like... but that probably doesn't really have to do with the question does it? XD
But anyways, you have to go all the way to a town just for basic stuff. Everything is super close to you in the city and there are lots of people around. It just makes it easier for your everyday needs. (Also, I've had some certain things happen to me in the country... with some certain cows... > . > ) I know the country is probably also pretty in some areas though. :3
But that's why I prefer City Life... XP
==================
Araharu
- My ideal lifestyle is the suburban life, where life isn't as hectic as it would be living in the city. I have lived awhile in the city when I went to one college in NYC and it was hectic. I know a lot of people love going to the city and dreaming about living there, but I honestly don't.
Right now I live in normal subrubia where I have a yard, a backyard, a pool, and quiet. It is the perfect type of scenery to raise a family and build a future instead of the city. I would go visit the city and hang out there but to live there? No. I enjoy my quiet time.
==================
No one! It's a tie!

ASK CBNL
QUESTIONS:
1. What is the most precious thing that you guys treasure? [Miyagi Rikku]
2. What is the longest time you guys online in cb? [Kay]
3. What do you guys strive to become when you get out into the working world? If you're already there, did you accomplish what you wanted? [Hiraishin]
ANSWERS:
1. First and foremost the photos from my primary school friends back in the Philippines before i moved out. After that is my drawings and my camera. Actually before all that is my friends.
2. From 10 am- 2 am lol...16 hours i think
3. I want to be a designer- hopefully a graphic designer. If not just anything to do with art and design. That or be a music composer. I could go either way.
1. My friends...and my pc x3
2. Let's see...10 hours or something? Although I'm not doing something in every single minute =o
3. No idea xD
I juts know i want to study Literature(OMFG!) and History(=O)
1. My eyes. I can't imagine myself blind. I would feel useless.
2. One time I was on CB from 12AM to 8AM, so 8 hrs.
3. I want to be a dependable guy for my family.
So I strive for high paying occupations and hope to shelter my family in a nice and safe environment that they'll gladly call home.
1. Um..lol this is a hard one. I think the most precious thing I treasure are my friendships. As for material objects...I treasure my handphone the most! I'd die without it, not being able to call/message/listen to music :<
2. ....Probably a couple of hours? I can't remember, I usually log-on for a while before going off to do some work and then coming back on CB for a bit.
3. I want to do something in the design/animation industry xD Either become a designer or work in an advertising company, OR work at some bigshot animation company like Disney/Pixar. lol, impossible dreams >.>
1. A pair of earrings my great aunt gave me. It's a flower shaped with ornate design with little diamonds set in gold. Sadly, I lost one in the roller coaster.
2. 5 hours straight
3. I thought I wanted a career and make the world a better place but in the end it's all about the monies.
1. I treasure my life! It is the most important thing to me!
2. Proberly about 1 - 2 hours per night!
3. I want to be an actor! It'll be hard, but I will strive to do my best!
1. The thing I treasure the most is having a family that cares and friends who'll support me 'till the end.
2. 12 hours. I'm not kidding. You get that when you organise the things in the NL, and other user group duties haha.
3. What I want to do is do something which I enjoy doing with passion, and to help give back to my family that have sacrificed a lot to get me where I am.
1. I'd have to say pictures. They are linked to my favorite memories and past times that I will cherish for the rest of my life. I can deal without all the technology and etc, but without my memories and past (which makes me who I am) I'm nothing.
2. Longest time? I'd say a full day. Not 24 hours, but like when I would wake up from 10AM til about a 1AM leading into the next day. I believe that's when I was sick - lol.
3. I want to be a secondary school music teacher. I'm currently a 3rd year university student, and quickly getting there. I can't wait!
1. If it's about a talent, I'll say my photographic abilities. To me, this is a unique gift and I'm very blessed. I just need to improve these photographic abilities so that I'll be better in taking pictures. If it's about a material thing, I'll say my point-and-shoot camera. Without it, I couldn't take wonerful pictures - especially when I capture something from my eye. If it's about someone, my bf is my precious one to me. I've been happy and I feel that my life is complete. Hehe. :babies:
2. Eventhough I rarely posting online, I spent my time here for about 4 hours. Sometimes, I spent a day being here (whenever I get bored or I have nothing else to do).lol.
3. If I'm very rich, I'm willing to become an independent photo artist. I want to publish a book about the photos I've done. Also, I want to travel in many places in the world. I believe that there are many wonderful places to see and it will be a unique experience, if I travel any one of these. ^_^ V'

Stevie, what do you think of a fish?
What fish? If it's a pet fish, it's like a lovey-dovey. The fish swims happily in a tiny fishing bowl pretending to dance and the next thing, it's dead. I can just throw in the toilet anf flush it like nothing happens. :Babies:
Stevie, I can haz ice cream cake plx?
I recommend Strawberry Flavor. It tastes so good that you'll never regret it. Yummm.... :p
Stevie, Why is my life more stressful?
You may carry a lot of meat with you. *winks*
Are you aware that you have a stalker?
Haha. I'm used to it. I have many fans running naked behind me. lol.
Who's your favorite author, Stevie?
Of course, ME.

THEME: Defining Your Life
1st - Icestorm
Mirrors in the Moonlight
My life in motion
Is one moment to the next,
Hilarity to disparity,
Disfunctionality to clarity.
Regrets that one forgets,
Standing in the shadow
Of my former self,
A tragedy yet untold.
The sun falls beneath the earth,
Leaving in its wake,
A mirror in the moonlight
A reflection of every mistake.
Construction to destruction,
Liberation to consternation.
A finality in my heart,
That just keeps
Ripping me apart.

POTW #5
THEME: Fear
1st - Pantiffel
Bound by fear
Like a blade piercing through my throbbing heart
That spreads a poison I try to cure
My mind filled with a storm of words
Unable to see the end from the start
My body can’t move, it’s made of stone
My steady ground will disappear
I try to flee and suddenly realise
In this world I’m nothing but alone
What is lost, will never be known
And what was left of it dies
My courage is replaced by fear
Because uncertainty has grown
Why can’t I be more smart
And be more strong to say it hurts
Instead of close my eyes and endure
A fear which tears me apart
Fear, teach me to have courage
For I have not yet found the light

POTW #6
THEME: Passion
1st - ♥ Ayalicious ♥
Strange Fruit
Contemptuously guilty, rendered bittersweet through time
Hanging loosely from sturdy branches of jaded trees
Enriching the air with the sickly scent of burning flesh
There lies the amaranthine epitome of the world
Gather not the weak, but the passionately blind
Sundials and compasses point neither to desire nor lust
Promise not a land of treasure, but one abandoned by fate
Only the sinful stumble upon the demon fruit of discord
Such is the goodbye of a man enveloped in greed
Let the vines of the human fruit entangle your soul
Deprive not yourself of your haphazard sanity
But learn that it is passion that drives the driven wild
Poisonous pleasure and the fleshy gnawing of juices
Consume the fruit that drowns your existence
Dance in the hypnotic twilight of the estranged
Outstretch your arms, embrace the sin you so cherish
You are but a child of the world

Horoscopes
Aries [ March 21 ~ April 19 ]
~> When it comes to love, you saw him/her looking at you. He/She seems awfully familiar then you remember. You've seen him before.... lurking.
Taurus [ April 20 ~ May 20 ]
~> Be sure to take care of your health. It's good to exercise and watch what you eat. You'll never know that someone wants to get closer to you.
Gemini [ May 21 ~ June 20 ]
~> Going out with special someone is best for Valentine Season. Try to watch a romantic movie or take him/her to the park on a nice sunny day.
Cancer [ June 21 ~ July 22 ]
~> If you're sad this month, don't take it too personally. There are moments in your life when everything seems to fall apart. If you're happy, be thankful and be contented in the smaller things in life.
Leo [ July 23 ~ August 22 ]
~> If you spend too much since Christmas, it's better if you prioritize your money to pay bills or debits. A certain item that you like will be yours if you use your money properly.
Virgo [ August 23 ~ September 22 ]
~> A test will come creeping up to you soon. Whatever the result, it is sure to challenge your current thoughts of your world.
Libra [ September 23 ~ October 22 ]
~> Despite someone may insult your sign by reminding you that it shares the same name with a popular tampon company, you will have constant doubts about your future, your goals and who you wish to end up with. Conflicts in your awakened mind cause you to only bring more questions to the board as you dream for a better world. The advice given is that one must use their mind for the better.
Scorpio [ October 23 ~ November 21 ]
~> Through hardwork and dedication, everyone will soon notice about your talents and capabilities. Some people around you may seek many advices - even if these advices are not related to your job. A special someone is waiting for you to give her/him a call.
Sagittarius [ November 22 ~ December 21 ]
~> You'll soon regret everything you have done wrong - especially about your past. The "one" you had interested with was badly hurt because of your foolishness. Seek an apology from him or her personally and admit that you commited an awful situation - if you want to move on with your life permanently.
Capricorn [ December 22 ~ January 19 ]
~> It's a good time to hang-out with the people you love. If you're single, it's best to look for a special someone in your life. If you're with someone, thank him/her and give it a kiss.
Aquarius [ January 20 ~ February 18 ]
~> You are filled with the luck and charisma to get by today! Don't let anyone put you down, you have special people power today, put it to your use!
Pisces [ February 19 ~ March 20 ]
~> The truth will reveal horrifying if you don't tell it to someone sooner. This way, this certain someone may understand about your secret ordeals.

Wow...you guys did an amazing job on this issue. It's been a while since I've read the newsletters-after being mia for the longest-but I have to say...you guys made such wonderful improvements and really kicked it up a hundred notches. I really enjoyed reading .:rei:.'s interview...but holy crap...it was SUPER LONG. But none the less...I enjoyed everybit of it. I especailly liked the part when .:rei:. went mia...that was hillarious. Pure genius me thinks...lol. Oh...and the cookery school article...I LOVED it! I really hope you guys keep that part of the newsletter. But anyway...I think my review is getting a bit long...or maybe I'm getting a bit lazy of commenting on everything...cause everything in the newsletter was awesome...but I just wanna say...that you guys are doing a spectacular job...so keep up the good work! :redbiggri

This was the first time that I stumbled upon the newsletter and quite enjoyed it. I have some pics somewhere of my crafts maybe if I can find them I'll send them in to post. Could be awhile though, lol, they might be with the sock monster.....we just moved to another state and new house alittle over a month ago and I'm still unpacking.
Great Issue, I enjoyed the anime and manga review a lot. And the interviews were priceless.
Good job. :)
