If Rukia is dead as everyone says then Orihime rescuing her would be the only way for her to come back to life. Orihime's power level should be much higher given the training just before she left plus the fact that she's in Hueco Mundo. If her powers are of the type as Chad (which they should because they got them from Ichigo) then they should be unusually high like Chad's were.

Now if Orihime got to Rukia then should be able to reverse what happened.

Technically, according to Urahara, all Ichigo did was activate them and that their powers were their own to begin with.

I've always felt that maybe Orihime could be some type of spirit princess due to the uniqueness of her powers and also because of her name. If so, then she could receive her "true form" power up when she gets to the Royal Dimension.

I hope it does happen. It will also shut both ships up for awhile. It's getting to the point where I'd rather have no "moments", than having "moments" and then people twisting them.

I don't really read the manga so I can't give a very good overview but I don't know how that scene can be seen as Ichiruki. It was pretty obvious that he was walking away and then attacked when Orihime was mentioned. That's just my opinion anyway. :redbiggri

We have yet to see how powerful both Tsubaki and her defensive shields have become since her month of training with Rukia, so I think we'll have to see those two in action first before Orihime achieves something equivalent to a bankai.

One theory I feel may have some degree of validity is that the ouken is hidden inside the hougyoku and that Orihime could release it with her powers.

Another reason I wonder about Orihime's powers is that Urahara seems to know an awful lot about them despite not having even trained her himself. How in the world did he know that Aizen would be interested in her powers if nobody else in SS, including some very knowledgeable individuals like Mayuri, Unohana, and Ukitake, seemed to know what they were despite having seen them in action up close? It's clear that her powers are no coincidence and they must have a very special origin such that Urahara knew of their nature without ever having witnessed them himself.

I have a really crack theory about that and Usagi-chan is going to kill me for mentioning it. Urahara could be Orihime's father. *ducks* Think about it, his shikai has offensive and defensive abilities. The shield he creates is similar to the one that Orihime creates. His sword is called Benihime and he's very secretive about his bankai. As you said he already knew about her abilities. He's the creator of the hougyoku and he knows her power would be of interest to Aizen. So he tried to protect her (in the most hamhanded way possible) I had even mentioned that maybe Urahara allowed Orihime to be taken because he probably knows something about her power that will affect the hougyoku in a way that will ruin Aizen's plan. It's a very risky task, but he also knows that Ichigo would be ready to protect her. As for Orihime, I found it interesting that to her, a talking cat and Urahara's basement seem perfectly normal. She got along with Tessai and the others in Urahara's shoten as if they were old friends. Ichigo said that it's because Orihime makes friends easily but heck, she probably played with them when she was younger. As for Sora's memories, Urahara could have messed with it. Also makes sense why's she's almost like a vizard, she gets the shinigami side of her powers from Urahara. XD *runs and hides*

On with another speculations. What would it be like for Orihime to FINALLY get stronger and more adapt? In my opinion, those fairies of hers could evolve and can be used in many certain ways. In this case; Tsubaki. Instead of being used for Saten Zeshuun(mispelled) all the time, if he evolved, he would be that of a humonoid. As shown in this example.

If Orihime used Saten Zeshuun, it would be 10x deadlier! The rest of the fairies might as well be humonoids. I could think of a lot of speculations for them.^^

Interesting thought, making Tsubaki be like Bleach version of Zetsue. I don't know if she can control Tsubaki to that effect though. Zetsue pretty much sustained long fights. Orihime has never really been a fighter so I don't think she can do that. I wish my brain was working better (explains the crack earlier XD), but I can't think of anything at the moment to make Tsubaki better except to make his cutting effect stronger. Her resolve and will plays into how her powers work so we have to wait and see if her need to save Rukia will cause her use Tsubaki with conviction.

I had always envisioned Orihime as a primo support fighter. I have a theory that she and Rukia had trained at tag team fighting while in SS and have developed new moves to take out enemies that would be too strong for either of them to fight alone. Orihime's defensive barriers and healing are top notch, but her offense is much weaker, while on the other hand Rukia's offense attacks seem be quite good but her problem is that she always gets skewered in the belly. Hence it would seem they would make a good team.

Yep. True enough! I just wish that just ONCE Orihime would be so pissed off that she would definitely use Tsubaki with convition. Of course, resolve and anger are both different. If Inoue was filled with rage, the Saten Zeshuun would be more powerful, but less controlable. I begin to think that Orihime's Saten moves depend on her emotion. like:

Saten Seshuun:Bravery and need to protect.
Saten Keshuun:Calmness; eagerness
Saten Zeshuun:Conviction and will.

All those moves are nothing without a certain resolve.

One thing that irks me about BF is that characters, who are nothing more than lines on a piece of paper, are not allowed to be bashed (or at least certain "favored" ones aren't) but it seems to be ok to bash fellow forum members-- actual living, breathing human beings. Anyway, totally love the OP. The song doesn't fit that much, but the imagery between Ichigo and Orihime is quite powerful. Love that they used actual scenes from the manga. It was spoilerish, but it totally fit the arc and the emotion of the story.

Because he doubted her. He thought she may be a traitor after all. And traitors won't be harmed. Traitors won't be killed. Ichigo may have reacted when Yamamoto suggested Orihime is a traitor - but note that he did not object when Renji offered his help by saying to Yamamoto, "Allow me to head the force and bring the traitor Inoue Orihime back."

Ichigo was never angry at Renji for calling Orihime that. But note in SS, whoever slanders Rukia - especially Byakuya, triggers Ichigo's wrath. He makes sure that he appreciates Rukia, he makes sure that Renji redeemed himself by giving him a chance to protect Rukia - thus throwing Rukia to him. He gave Renji a chance because if Renji wanted to protect Rukia, it is fine by him - as long as Rukia is safe.

What does the panel above imply? Ichigo is angry at Ulquiorra because of his actions, he has treated Orihime (his nakama) as a traitor. Ichigo came to HM with the mindset that Orihime has betrayed them. It is dreadfully clear that he came to HM out of obligation for Orihime as a nakama because, Orihime went to SS with him to save Rukia. Rukia, however, did not act like Ichigo had. She has, even at her very last moments of consciousness, believed Orihime is a captive and not a traitor - and she vowed to reach her no matter what it takes. Such a selfless heroine and with such determination, strong-will, offering Orihime true, unconditional friendship - how can people still find the heart to slander and speak ill of her here? How can people be so generally apathetic and complete despicables for thinking Rukia should lay bleeding and dying while Ichigo HAS to fight for Orihime?

One of the elements of Tanabata is Orihime waits on the other side of the river, while Kengyuu tries to cross the river with a boat. The red fonts are words of Orihime, being lonely, waiting and offering a prayer as she waits for another day. The blue fonts are words of Kengyuu where he desperately tries to get across the river, but cannot since it's dark and he's blind. Another thing, Tanabata falls on 7th day 7th month, that's the day where the moon is in a sickle phase(Zangetsu's symbol). During Tanabata when it's not raining, people watched the white moon, as it traveled from Altair to Vega, a symbol of Kengyuu trying to get on the boat and meet Orihime.

I never really paid attention to the words of the first ending theme song before since I wasn't too fond of it, but seeing the actual words and how it applies to the Tanabata just blows my mind. And I have to say, I totally love the new OP! Finally Pierrot studios are recognizing Orihime's character and her importance to Ichigo. It still irks me that they cut a lot of her scenes from the manga during the SS arc. But now they are more than making up for it. Man it was so awesome to see the opening shot of Ichigo straight out of the pages of 238. These last two weeks have been good for us fans. First we got the beautiful Volume 27 cover of Orihime, then chapter 270 and now the new OP! Just so many goodies to squee about. :biggrinlo

I've always thought it would be great fun if Kubo really did end up finishing Bleach the way some of his more rabid fans would have him.

Lets see, in this arc Ichigo would defeat Ulqy and then race off to find Rukia, whereupon arrival Nell heals her with her vomit while Ichigo cradles her in his arms. He tells her he never wanted to come to HM to rescue that b!tch Orihime anyways and takes her to the next room where they begin making shinigami babies, leaving behind Nell who is banging on the door screaming to let her in.

Renji barely manages to defeat Zael with the aid of Don's secret ability--acid saliva, which dissolves Zael's glasses and renders him defenselesss . Renji then races to Rukia but finds her and Ichigo in flagrante delicto, which depresses him so much he decides to return to SS and shack up with Unohana.

Ishida meets up with Noitora and the espada taunts him by saying that he finds Orihime good in bed. Ishida reacts violently and fires a massive quincy arrow at him, which Noitora easily deflects using only his forearm. Ishida finally wins the fight by employing the last weapon on utility belt--a giant quincy catapult.

Meanwhile, Tatsuki who has been training on earth with Urahara and Yoruichi and is now upper tier espada level, and arrives on the scene with her two sidekicks Keigo and Mizuiro. Keigo and Mizuiro defeat the Old Man espada by poisoning his viagra, while Tatsuki takes out Stark by shunkoing him in the nuts.

Orihime's classmates make it to her cell, and she realizes that she been in love with Uryuu all along and that she has been a selfish b!tch by ignoring Tatsuiki. This sudden realization give her a massive powerup and she achieves her final release, GOD-kai. With her newfound abilities Orihime vaporizes Aizen and the rest of the bad guys and leaves HM hand in hand with Uryuu and Tatsuki.

But there's only one problem with the fic as a whole: Characters acting well OOC! But if I saw this anywhere the author would assure us that they're keeping the characters as they should and everything's that happening is due to character development. *laughs like maniac*

I am thinking more like this >> Ichigo is so angry, very angry that he blew up everything on the corridor and wall; ultimately killing Ulquiorra and poor Neru(they are both crushed by big boulders and rocks). Of course Ichigo isn't going to die, since he's the main, main Bleach character. He comes up from the place, unscathed, and seeing how poor Neru gets caught up in the crossfire, become even more, and more angry than the one he was in chapter 270, sped up like a bullet train, beating everyone that stands in the way, all the Espadas, from #1->6/7, including Noitora claiming to be the strongest Espada. Then he meets Orihime, drags her to the spot where Neru and Rukia is and demands Orihime to unfix the damage made on his (not their)nakama, then scold Orihime for being such a troublesome damsel-in-distress. Orihime being stunned and shocked, decided to heal everyone(all Ichigo's nakama, including Rukia; yes Rukia is Ichigo's nakama, he said it) and then in her moment of anger send Ichigo-taichi back to present world, yelling, "Don't come back, I'll kill you!"

And Aizen appears, soothing her and makes her his queen, Winter-War would have Ichigo(and his beloved queen-nakama Rukia) against Aizen and Orihime.

They did want to see Orihime being jealous with Ichigo choosing Rukia, don't they?


Finally Pierrot studios are recognizing Orihime's character and her importance to Ichigo. It still irks me that they cut a lot of her scenes from the manga during the SS arc. But now they are more than making up for it. Man it was so awesome to see the opening shot of Ichigo straight out of the pages of 238. These last two weeks have been good for us fans. First we got the beautiful Volume 27 cover of Orihime, then chapter 270 and now the new OP! Just so many goodies to squee about.
Yes, they cut a lot of Orihime's scenes from the manga, but did they cut Ichigo's scenes? If they cut most Orihime's scenes from the manga, then where do you get IchiHime vibe from? Orihime's scenes got cut off, that would make Ichigo's parts still remained. In fact they exaggerated it...

Example:: They cut the scene where Orihime daydreaming Ichigo in princy charmy suit, right? Instead they added this scene, Ichigo sitting on the roof towards Soul Society(where Rukia was imprisoned)

Think for a while....if what Shibata boy said is true, that climbing up the roof wouldn't make Ichigo be able to see Rukia, past the gate...what was he doing there? Shouldn't he be standing up, and straining his neck up to see Rukia? Instead he was sitting, hunching forwards, looking downwards. Remember, Orihime is healing Jidanbou, near the walls, actually near the gate, since Ichimaru injured Jidanbou at the gate. I'm guessing that while Orihime healed Jidanbou, Ichigo climbed up the roof to have a good view of her, possibly making sure she's not disturbed by other hot-blooded males.

I think that SP ruined one of their favorite moments for them in ep. 121. It was really dramatic in the manga, but that "moment" seemed to come and go in a flash.

I have some thoughts on m-ch 213 and ep. 121 I want to get off my chest...
When Ichigo is being speed-punched by Grimmjow, he starts to think of how he couldn't protect Orihime from Yami because his hollow was surfacing. And he starts to think about how he didn't protect Rukia from Grimmjow.

In m-ch. 195 and ep. 115, remember Ichigo visiting Orihime at Urahara's? He made depressed/painful expressions for her sake, just as he did for Rukia in m-ch 213 and ep. 121.

Only after seeing Rukia get a hand through her stomach and being pwned by Grimmjow did he decide how he can protect his friends (the Vaizard's)

This is about Ichigo and protecting his friends. Ichigo goes into his depression again about how he's weak and can't protect his friends, which is the reason for his depressed/painful expression when he is watching Rukia being healed by Orihime. The only difference I see between these scene's is that after Orihime was injured, Ichigo vowed he would get stronger and protect her. He didn't do that for Rukia, and she doesn't want him to.

And I think the only reason they focused on Orihime closing her eyes in m-ch.213 and in ep. 121, is because she doesn't know how she can make Ichigo feel better again.

And honestly, I think Orihime is only bashed because she stands in the way of Ichigo and Rukia.

This sudden realization give her a massive powerup and she achieves her final release, GOD-kai. With her newfound abilities Orihime vaporizes Aizen and the rest of the bad guys and leaves HM hand in hand with Uryuu and Tatsuki.

I got the IchiHime vibe from the manga, never from anything from the anime during the SS arc. Had I just watched the anime, I would have thought the "pairings would have been" IchiRuki and IshiHime. Glad I read the manga 'cause you realize there wasn't anything romantic going on there at all. I do wish they animated the part where Ichigo brought water for Orihime to drink and also had the villagers wondering if Orihime was single and then assume Ichigo was her man. There were a lot more scenes that were cut...I was supposed to do a comparison for each scene, between manga and the anime, but haven't had the time to do it. Will do someday. Least now the studios are leaving Orihime scenes intact. That and they're only using an average of 2 chapters per episode. During the SS arc, it was like 3-5 that's why they burned through a lot of chapters quick and had to make fillers. I seriously believe they didn't realize that Orihime would become that important to the story. Glad they realized it in time or else they may mess up chapter 237 altogether. Oh the horror!

I have read rumors that the Bleach anime was originally funded up till the end of SS arc and that the series was only extended until late into its run. Hence the producers did their best to try and make it IchiRuki because they were not sure of the story going beyond SS arc.

To me, one of the key moments left out from the anime is the part where Orihime smells Ichigo from 3 floors up. This is important because it shows that what Orihime feels for him isn't simply a crush, but that there is some deeper unexplained connection between her and Ichigo. Normally in fiction this type of bond indicates either a genetic link or a romantic link. I don't think Bleach is the type of story that would explore incestuous relationships, so that leaves the latter option. While it doesn't necessarily indicate that Ichigo will at any time feel anything romantic for her, it does effectively prevent her from falling in love with anyone else. The only way I can see her falling for someone else, say Uryuu for instance, is if she loses this special bond with Ichigo or she gains a similar one with Uryuu.

I dislike love triangles in general (my favorite pairing in either Bleach or Naruto is Shikamaru x Temari) and I'm not getting love triangle vibes from either of the two suggest triangles. Well, maybe I do get the sense that Ichigo may come between Rukia x Orihime. :Haha

They did realize that Orihime is an important character to Ichigo as a potential romantic mate, or else they wouldn't have cut Orihime's manga scenes in the anime. By doing so, by cutting Orihime's scenes, they are trying to make it less one-sided love and a more mutual one-sided love. Or at least Ichigo liking Orihime secretly, without Orihime knowing. When I first watched the anime(pre-SS arc) I thought Ichigo liked Orihime, especially chapter 2 and 3. Ever notice, most people complained that they had deleted Orihime scenes and a lot of IchiRuki fans when they want to argue that Orihime has a one-sided love, they would be using the manga panels? And not the anime scenes?

Why do you think then the song 'Life is a Boat' by Yui is so Tanabata-like?

In the manga, late Sora became AcidWire because of loneliness. But in the anime, GrandFisher was the main culprit of turning Sora into AcidWire. GrandFisher is the hollow that attacked Ichigo's mother, and used her image as a way to harm Ichigo, isn't he? Well, by including GrandFisher in the beginning, anime is showing that Orihime is an important, very important to Ichigo, equally important as his mother was to him. When taking the fatal blow meant for anime Orihime, anime Ichigo yelled at AcidWire that he (Ichigo) thought they(hollows) were after him(Ichigo). In another words.....the way to bring Ichigo down was to attack someone whom he considered important(and he liked very much), next to his family members.

It's the beginning of his crush, episode 2. By the way, Ichigo earlier refused to do Rukia a favour by doing the shinigami job(that was why there was no training in the park, only 'Rukia following Ichigo, until Ichigo said yes to doing shinigami job'). Only after saving Orihime, in the anime Ichigo decided to become a shinigami, for the sake of the people in front of him.

The sitting on the roof, was more like Ichigo watching Orihime healing Jidanbou with interest.

I tell you a story, we all know the famous Orihime/Kengyuu aka Weaver Princess and Ox King, where the Weaver Princess transcended from the heavens and married the Ox King, and lived happily ever after....well at least for a couple of years, before they got separated because of Weaver Princess's own family members, and then this Ox King tried to reach Weaver Princess using a boat, and in some version an ox skin. But there's another version which was even more darker than Orihime/Kengyuu or Weaver Princess and Ox King, which the anime/manga 'Ayashino Ceres' adapted it from. In this version it was the Fisherman who stole and hide the hagamoro of the celestial maiden needed to fly back to heaven. And the fisherman forced tennyo(celestial maiden) to marry him, and in some story versions had him sucking the power of tennyo making him very powerful, and lusted for power more.

But of course, there is a milder version where the fisherman refused to return back the tennyo's hagamoro until she dances and sings for him a lullaby. But usually, it's this version where the story ended in unhappiness with no hope, unlike Kengyuu/Orihime.

If you looked through the lyric carefully, you would see there is some similarities, where the singer asked the 'you' to fold the fragile, tired wings, and not to forcefully smile for anyone. And the sweet song 'you' sang keep haunting him and he tries to get it back but it was his karma and luck not being able to do so. So let's bury it(wings??) because there is no need the sky when we can swim. The bolded ones are the parts where they panned Orihime's face first before they showed bespectacled Aizen(who looks so charming, innocent and kakkoi) that later changed into a meany Aizen.

Why Aizen? Aizen and Ichigo had some similarities in the sense Aizen was the former 5th Division Captain, and he's the Number One in the Fifth Division. Number 5, when pronounced sounds very like 'Cow'. Secondly, only Aizen and Ichigo had zanpakutou with the word 'moon' on it. Thirdly Aizen's zanpakutou was Suigetsu is actually a water-based zanpakutou, that causes people to see things before he striked them isn't it? That's very fishy, don't you think? And if you were to compare with Aizen's cover picture, you would see the 'pine tree' and the bridge, something which you really don't see in all of the other shinigami captains and lieutenents; normally you see their pictures, and their names in the background. You would not see anything else in the background. That story had the pine tree as an important element, because the tennyo left her hagamaro robe on the pine tree. And the bridge, it almost look like as if Aizen is waiting at the bridge....it reminds me of a river kappa...remember what Aizen said to the Espadas, do not rush out to engage the enemies, but wait, when they come near just jump at them and pulled them in and kill them.

Also Aizen's poem>> It's because our feet stop just before the edge that e think the flower on the precipice is beautiful. So don't be afraid, because we are like this flower; we can step forward into the sky.

Don't you think that it had a romantic but twisted fairytale connotation? How he thinks the flower on the edge is so beautiful, because she wasn't afraid of death, and was willing to step into the sky? No wonder someone mentioned that Aizen's volume poem was so cool.

I have a crack theory that Aizen was doing it all for love, that he loved Kaien's wife Miyako and decided to destroy the whole world system. He didn't like seeing Kaien and Miyako together in every lifetimes and decides to destroy the whole world system, making him(Aizen) with Miyako. That's why Tousen is willing to follow him because in the new world, there is no such thing as reincarnation karma cycle thing(me<<Orihime fan)

I feel Ichigo/Orihime/Aizen love triangle has more angst than Rukia/Ichigo/Orihime. To be honest, Ichigo/Rukia has no angst factor, I mean what's so miserable and sad about Ichigo and Rukia?

Dang, Inocho! Thanks for further expanding on your Bleach take on the Tanabata and including the darker version. I've read that before, but never applied it to Ichigo/Orihime. However, to have it apply to Aizen/Orihime is quite fascinating. In a sense, Kubo could be using both versions of the Tanabata. Aizen is Ichigo's anti-thesis so I can see him be the embodiment of the fisherman in the darker version whereas Ichigo represents Kengyuu from the lighter version. Just now have to wait and see whose story will win in the end. Go Ichigo/Orihime! Woo.

Aizen being in love with Miyako is quite an interesting theory too (even if you think it's cracky, I love crack!) I have never seen that before so thanks for sharing your take on that. If he sees a similarity between Ichigo/Orihime to Kaien/Miyako (not talking reincarnation here, just similarity) then I can see why he would want to destroy their chance at love. BTW, if BF does come up again, can I quote you, Inocho? Since we're all in this Tanabata contest, it will be cool to see how people read your take on Aizen's part in the twisted version of the story. LOL, I love crack theories, 'cause I make a ton of them myself. (ergo people think I do smoke crack, XD) But no, I don't support Aizen/Orihime. I just like seeing other takes on it. Ultimately, Aizen's in love with himself...or rather power. I do like it when others mess with Ichigo's head with Aizen's plans for Orihime. If Noitora was the one who met up Ichigo, he can provoke him by saying that Orihime is Aizen's "pet-sama". If Grimmjow, he can provoke him by saying that Orihime followed Aizen's orders without protest and restored his arm. We've seen Ulquiorra already play with Ichigo using Orihime as bait, the rest will do the same if given the chance.

Yeah, saw that pic at Naruto forums and laughed. I hope that Ulquiorra's version is better. Never pictured him to get that dirty in his fight though. He didn't seem the type to punch holes through people's stomachs. It's something Grimmjow does, but not Ulquiorra. He seemed too cool to have his clothes stained by blood.

So she is naked? I think that the coloring and the the fact that she is wearing a white dress just made it look like she was naked. You can also see where the coloring changes on her back; from her beige skin to the white dress.

Very powerful imagery, don't you think? I always thought it was the other way around, Orihime being the one that Ichigo was unable to reach and touch; had to let her go as she is in another plane totally different from his. And they said that Rukia and Ichigo, star-crossed lovers who are not able to reach out and be together.

If they didn't show these that portion, especially this bespectacled Aizen, I would have thought AizenxOrihime be an impossible pairing. It just impressed me there is more than meets the eye; Aizen mentioned that he expected Ichigo to defeat Doldonee in a shorter time period, his indescribable anticipation towards Ichigo drawing nearer, and the two sexy arrancar girls grumbling about what 'stuffs' Orihime had that they don't have that attracted Aizen. By the way, the amount of 'Aizen' inside this opening song is a little too many to pose as villain who hungered power only. Ulquiorra doesn't even come close, yet people think there's something going on between the two, like IshidaxInoue.

Oh btw, I rather not have you quote it out, mano. Let's just wait for more confirmation, since only Orihime has the key access to Aizen's favour, he would just say yes to every of her requests, as long as they don't go overboard if he wants her to undo Urahara's work.

It's a confirmed that IchiRuki's romantic relationship is so non-existing, right?

I don't think showing Aizen a lot means there's a relationship there. More like it shows whose hand is over all the mess that's currenly happening. Everybody knows from SS that Aizen is a manipulative bastard so those who see the new OP and have not read the manga would think he's up to something as usual. And I still think she's wearing that white dress even as she turned to face Aizen. The coloring just blended into her skin to make it look as if she was naked.

Regarding Ichigo reaching for Orihime, isn't that what some people believe Ichigo feels about Orihime? That he feels she's above him so he doesn't feel he's worthy. Again, like the Tanabata. He's the lowly cowherder and she's the princess from above.

Speaking of Tanabata (like I can't shut up about it XD), Ulquiorra's last name is kind of interesting. I know I'm one of those who have been happy about Kubo naming the Espada after architects and designers. Anyway, Ulquiorra's last name is "Schiffer" (like Cladia Schiffer XD). A poster in Naruto forums noted that the Germanic meaning of Schiffer is "boatman/sailor." Just found that interesting 'cause in the Tanabata story, Orihime is ferried over to Kengyu by a boatman. I will be all sorts of tickled if Ulquiorra either takes Ichigo to Orihime or if later Ulquiorra helps Ichigo and Orihime somehow. But that's just pure speculation on my part.

I'm getting more and more apprehensive about the Vizard powers: They've yet to ever help him against anyone he couldn't have beat with Bankai alone and they undermine his (or shounen protagonists in general) most important strength : stamina. Ichigo fails because he hasn't been able to go the distance since Byakuya(barely) and it's pretty much Shirosaki's fault.

Plus ever since coming back from SS he's become more and more detached from life and estranged from his loved ones and thinks of himself as shinigami rather than a substitute shinigami (i.e. basically human at heart).

That's one of the main reasons I prefer IchiOri to IchiRuki: Rukia introduced him to the vast ocean of the spirit realm but he really needs a strong human anchor right now to keep him from drowning in it

@Shinta: please don't mistake ichigo trying to use Ogichi's power and Ogichi actually fighting. The difference is immense. Remember the chapter where Ogichi took over Ichigo with a little prompting from Hiyori (right before the Vizard training)? Ogichi smashed her with his hand, and before that, she was tossing him around in his shikai mode, much like Ulqiorra now.

Ogichi's and Ichigo's power is the same (since they are technically one and the same with Ogichi being part of the soul), but Ichigo can't tap all of his power yet. Ogichi, on the other hand, is quite capable of doing so, so his power is far beyond what Ichigo can use.

So if Ogichi was to take over now, Ulqiorra is pretty much doomed - not only instant regeneration, but Ogichi's power is just enough to crush him.

Although, he might choose to back down and let Ogichi take the brunt of the fighting because he wants to save Orihime... I wouldn't put it past Kubo to have Ogichi go on a rampage only to be stopped by Orihime, but in such a way that would still not give us conclusive evidence whether or not it's love or just Ichigo's friendship.

Shut up. We're going." That's when IchiRuki died for me, although using her as a make-shift football didn't help either.

Anyway, finally got to download chapter 271 from blood-scanlations so got see Ichigo get whooped. Bad! Ulquiorra didn't even break a sweat.

I don't know why people are complaining about Ulqui's rank...he was a complete badass here. This is up there with pre-SS Ichigo/Byakuya and Ichigo/Aizen as some of the worst curb stomps in Bleach history.

Urahara could be Orihime's father. *ducks* Think about it, his shikai has offensive and defensive abilities. The shield he creates is similar to the one that Orihime creates. His sword is called Benihime and he's very secretive about his bankai. As you said he already knew about her abilities. He's the creator of the hougyoku and he knows her power would be of interest to Aizen. So he tried to protect her (in the most hamhanded way possible) I had even mentioned that maybe Urahara allowed Orihime to be taken because he probably knows something about her power that will affect the hougyoku in a way that will ruin Aizen's plan. It's a very risky task, but he also knows that Ichigo would be ready to protect her. As for Orihime, I found it interesting that to her, a talking cat and Urahara's basement seem perfectly normal. She got along with Tessai and the others in Urahara's shoten as if they were old friends. Ichigo said that it's because Orihime makes friends easily but heck, she probably played with them when she was younger. As for Sora's memories, Urahara could have messed with it. Also makes sense why's she's almost like a vizard, she gets the shinigami side of her powers from Urahara. XD *runs and hides*

As cracked out as that theory sounds, it, by some work of force, actually work. I mean besides Sora's memories of their parents being jerks and But remember, Sora did say that there mother slept around a lot if I'm recalling that right. Urahara could have been lonely, or plotting. Whatever works for him. But I can picture Urahara revealing that information to Orihime.

Ichi was like that because he tought of how cute Orihime was with the moonlight light shinning in her hairpins as well as her eyes (hey didn't I just said that it was completely dark XD OMG) and Hime, well Ichi looked handsome in the moonlight! XD and then they separated... and both said "ONEGAI!" and went to sleep again with a smile in their faces...

I do hope Orihime adopts Nell. She is just the cutest thing and she reminds me so much of Orihime.
Maybe that's Kubo Tite's original plan for Neru, to be the miniature of Orihime so that he will not forget why he wants to save Orihime. The part Ichigo beating her 'older siblings' for teaching her new, cool words was funny, that and the part when Neru met Ichigo before Doldonee. You can see Neru wants more than just being a little sister, she's in love with Ichigo.

One thing I notice in shounens, whenever there is that 'confirmed' romantic canon pairing, where the guy really likes this girl(X), the creator would create another funny character girl(Y) that resembles that X so much, falling for that guy only to have him running away from her. Or at least treating her(Y)as nothing more than little sister. (certainly not a prospect lover.)

Down came Nell, who's almost like Orihime in character, funny, innocent, cute and protective. Looks at Ichigo and falls in love. Tries to get Ichigo's attention by sitting on his lap(loved that scene), cling on Ichigo's pants, call him a virgin, tries to kiss him with that funny kissing mouth. What is Ichigo's reaction to Nell? "Get out of me, you're too close for my comfort!!!"

If anyone hasn't seen it's basically just a bunch of IchiRuki scenes labeled "Reality" interspersed with occasional IchiOri scenes labeled "Delusion." Then at the end it reads "Reality Hurts-No wonder people choose to live in delusions."

I actually laughed when I saw it because it just seems so--what's the word I'm looking for--desperate, maybe? I hope they are allowed to keep it up at BF because it summarizes so much of the IchiRuki fandom in a nutshell--petty, catty, and vindictive.

I know that Nell is in love with Ichigo, but I do like the idea that if Nell sees Orihime, she won't be jealous but love her instead. Just like the idea of Orihime having a little sibling or "daughter" to take care of when she's back in the real world. Another crack theory, Pesh, Doldonie, and Nell are really just new Arrancar versions of Orihime's fairies. *is shot*

Anyway, I was watching the dubbed episode 29 of Bleach yesterday and something stood out to me. Tsubaki said to Orihime that she lacked the killer instinct to use him effectively. That just reminded me of Ichigo and the fact that he too lacks the killer instinct, or rather supresses his killer instinct (Shirosaki). So both of them are technically on the same boat.

Hi clow-san, welcome to the FC. We all have the same wish that Ichigo and Orihime's romantic relationship will someday be canon. Kubo's going to get there. I actually prefer he goes about it nice and slow so we can savor it. :)

If so, Ulquiorra better hide before his whole existence is rejected. XD Ulquiorra doesn't do anything without calculating the response. What's his purpose for pwning Ichigo. He knows it's going to affect Orihime somehow. Is he curious as to how much it will affect her?

BTW, one of the scenes that I find funny in the banner is the one where Rukia's bed was placed in Karin and Yuzu's room. Guess Isshin considers Rukia in the same level as "sister" to Ichigo. :D

Actually, some people are looking forward to some Shirosaki/Orihime interaction. I bet Shirosaki knows of Orihime's feelings for Ichigo since he's not exactly slow in the uptake as Ichigo is. That or he was awake and listening in to her confession on chapter 237. I'm sure he appreciates her since she is the one who keeps his host body in tip-top condition. If Shirosaki is Ichigo's id, then he'll probably want to do everything with Orihime that Ichigo's only dreamed about, but is too shy to actually initiate. 'Course then Ichigo is going to be jealous of his own self. Fun!
