Okay I'm gonna attemot to answer this.

1. They are teenagers so their love will not seem as obvious as portrayed in yer typical romance, teenagers are awkward. That and Ichigo is as dumb as a stick..

2. I see the awkwardness between and the connection that they have. Both inherently understand and respect each other. But that awkwardness still stands as a barrier between them

3. I like them as a couple they are more credible than IchixRukia. People say IchixRukia because he went to SS for her but peeps he specifcially states that the reason he needs ot save her apart from her being a friend is the fact that he feels he owes her so much. She gave him the ability to protect his family and friends. He will be ever grateful for that.

Edit: Also they're just so damn cute!!! :P

I agree with you on that any relationship in bleach will be subtle. however, no offense to anyone here, I think ichigo is just distant with orihime...I mean, if he did have feelings for her, then he would notice her or at least try to strike up a conversation with her. the truth is he hardly ever talked to her...

2. As for understanding and respect, I think it applies more to ichigo and rukia. please don't mistake this for taking ichiruki side. I actually don't think they are in love or whatever, I just see the whole understand and respect more btwn them than I do btwn ichigo and orihime. then again, this could be because ichigo and orihime really hardly ever interact...

3. Now this is just my opinion, but I feel that ichigo is saving orihime in this arc because he feels he owes her. honestly, i don't think he ever expected her to go to SS since she wasn't exactly close with rukia and (again) they just hardly ever interact. I feel he's just really greatful that she went to SS to save rukia, so now he feels he owes her...

I haven't seen any romantic relationship forming in bleach yet and I will not deny the possibility of it ever happening. But from my experience of bleach, I never ever thought about ichigo and orihime being together at all in anime and manga... because (for the fourth time) I don't see that much interaction btwn them... I would really love see what you guys see because I just don't understand...

P.S. yeah they are cute, but most characters in bleach are cute!!! ^_^

I pretty much finished manga so...

I do remember in ch.3 ph.13, ichigo said that he had just recently found out orihime was the brown-haired girl he saw when her brother died. now if i am not mistaken, that would mean ichigo didn't know her at all before that...or noticed her for that matter. also in ch.3, he didn't say orihime was his friend, in fact he said she was a friend of his childhood friend (a friend of friend). I know much could've changed from then to now, but he still doesn't interact much with her...I don't think that's how you would treat a friend. plus throughout the SS arc, they were hardly together, I don't understand how a friendship could develop from such little interaction...

well...I know he said that, but i am still unsure on the friend thing... it just seems that everyone was able to bond with ichigo except orihime, that's why i hesitate to call her ichigo's friend. i mean, there's no doubt she's everyone's friend, but ichigo personally? I am not sure...again, this has to do with such little and distant interaction they have with each other.

now about the thing in LJ, i think i stumbled on that b4. i kinda started reading it, except at that time I thought it was too twisted...but I will really read it this time and get back to you soon! ^_^

Ok, i've finished skimming through that article. first of all, I have to apologize for I am about to say afterwards since I might sound harsh.

now, i believe that article was written some time b4 ch.238? (the one where orihime made her famous confession) since that wasn't mentioned. having said that, I find it extremely weird to prove/suggest a mutual romantic relationship btwn orihime and ichigo with so little one-sided information. it just further proves my point: they don't interact all that much even after (at least) 238 chapters! I don't know about you, but if I am interested in someone, I would try to talk to him and get him to notice me. ichigo didn't do that at all. he hardly noticed her.

I was making notes while reading that article, but then I realized every little thing author mentioned was blown out of proportion. any reaction from ichigo was exaggerated...I don't know how "freak[ing] out when he learns she was hit by a car" was an sign of ichihime, because honestly I would react the same toward any stranger if I find out he/she was hit by a car (and still standing without fatal injury)! then after finding out those injuries, if he didn't offer to walk her home, then I don't know what normal reaction is supposed to be. this was all in ch.3 and I've mentioned how ichigo didn't even know who she was b4 ch.3 (refer to my other post). again, all these exaggeration was probably because author just didn't have much to write on!

I don't support ichiruki or ichihime, but at least i can see where ichiruki comes from. I really don't get ichihime. nothing against anyone, but there's just not enough interaction (i think I've said this like a million times already :P) btwn them to mean anything. I see that orihime obviously loves ichigo, but i don't see the other way around. if ichihime is based on a one-sided feeling from orihime, then i guess i kinda understand where you're coming from. However, i stand confused because i still don't understand where you guys get ichigo-->orihime...and then to say it's a mutual relationship just doesn't make sense...

I enjoyed this discussion (though not a lot of people responded) with all of you. Do you guys know anyone who knows more on ichihime? i would love to get some info from them...maybe another forum i should visit?

I guess we have different understanding of what friendship is... to me, orihime and ichigo's friendship is rather shallow. their friendship is probably one of the weakest one among all of ichigo's friends. chad and ichigo have deep faith and trust in each other; ishida and tazuki(?) both have more interaction with ichigo than orihime does. in fact, anyone close enough to be called a friend to ichigo has deeper realtionship with him than orihime does. I guess, this is where i question the true meaning of friendship btwn ichigo and orihime.

as for ch.3, i don't know if you know this, but asian schools are very different from western ones. you are pretty much with same class of people until you graduate that school. with that being said, ichigo definitely knew orihime since she was a classmate. but did ichigo know her personally? like a friend? i doubt it. if he did know her that way, he wouldn't just "find out recently" who she was. This only shows how informal and distant they were (especially from ichigo's side).

We have never claimed that there is a relationship just a potential for a relationship given the events that have transpired. Both Undying and I brought up the fact that Ichi was the one who believed she was not a traitor to the disobedience of SS, that and he did call her a friend. I never felt he owed her, ooh she went to SS so what she supported him as a friend (and the fact that she loves him) and he would consider her a friend too. Stop trying to equate her to Rukia's situation. It's not the same, if it was then it would be bad writing and Kubo is a good writer so far.

first of all, you guys are the ones who keep commenting on the same thing. I already said that I *personally* don't feel the friendship thing because there are more friends who are closer to ichigo than she was and still is. and this "unreasonable standard" you mentioned is based on the difference in friendship and emotional bond btwn ichigo and each of his friends. this difference is a FACT! but since ichigo called her a friend then i'll go with it and not say anything on that anymore.

I have NO idea why this even came up. it's like anyone who tries to understand ichihime but is not able to is automatically branded as some sort of rukia-fan or ichiruki. in all of my posts, my focus has *ALWAYS* been on orihime and ichigo! I have NEVER compared her to rukia's situation whatsoever!

I came to this forum because I saw so many members and posts, thinking that people here must really love this pair and they must have lots of moments to back it up. as i said b4, I was curious about this pair because the possibility just never occurred to me. they had so little interaction, it's kinda hard to imagine a *potential* relationship. Did i once mention ichigo and rukia's relationship? NO! because *to me* that doesn't matter in terms of how this relationship is likely to develop. I tried to see this pairing from your perspective. Kubo has already clearly stated that Orihime is in love with Ichigo. He is slowly building up to show that Ichigo might reciprocate those feelings with chapters 238, 239, and most recently 270. Either you see it, or you don't.

Why is there potential for IchixHime? Because unlike other ships, there is canon proof that Orihime is in love with Ichigo. She is the only one who has outwardly admitted she loves anyone in "Bleach" that I can recall and that can be taken seriously.

Kubo has shown Ichigo responding rather violently to when someone tries to defile Orihime's honor (or even suggesting that she is dead) Ichigo has also vowed to protect Orihime, and dedicated a big scene in the manga for it. MUCH potential for Ichigo to reciprocate Orihime's love. Like I said previously, Kubo is slowly building up to show that Ichigo might also care for Orihime the same way she cares for him...chapters 238, 239 and 270 show that.

Okay firstly I have no clue what this LJ manifesto is so I can't comment on it.

Secondly none of said there was a relationship, just a potential. Personally I have already given my resons for it a few pages back.

Thirdly, pairing does not necessarily mean romantic. I'm sure there are people in this club who like the friendship between the two rather than anything else. But you have conceded to there being a friendship so it's all good :)

Now I have never claimed that they are together. I think there may be potential for one based on what I have seen so far in the manga. Who knows Ichigo could proclaim his undying love for Aizen for all we know. However, that being said, this is a fan club for the pairing. Thus they are a personal preference for peeps in this fanclub. No it may not happen but still people like the pair regardless, canon or not. You came in asking us to prove our preference for the couple, and tried to debunk the couple to the point of them not even being friends. Therefore you should expect a rebuttle.

It´s obvious that Inoue is deeply in love with Ichigo since the first chapters she was introduced.
Her obsession with him grew and grew; but all I can see in the manga is a one-sided love from Inoue to Ichigo.
I couldn´t find any hints that Ichigo has any other interests in her besides platonical friendship so far in the manga.

Therefore, it really is my wish to understand why there are so many people who say that Ichiori is canon, meant to be etc.
I really wish somebody could give definite reasons for shipping Ichiori, I could probably understand your feelings better.

Why do all the anti-IchiHimers come here to discuss wether Ichigo and Orihime are friends or not -_- ... this is an ICHIHIME FC which means we don't care if you disagree about this pairing because we agree (wether it is the 'truth' or not).

If you don't like this pairing go to the pairing you do like and go discuss there instead of here ...

I never claimed the pair was canon I gave my reasons for thinking there may development based on the manga and you wrote it off because you didn't agree so to say we're all subjective and as a result you don't care anymore is a bit of an ad hominem. That and stories are there for interpretation, based on the story I have concluded that there is a possibilty for Ichigo and Orihime. Like Matsumoto, said Ichigo needs Orihime too in her own way. The new chapter is great! I'm only a little dissapointed in the meeting between Orihime and Ichigo ... I mean Ichigo was dead and she didn't cry but she cried when she felt Rukia 'die'
I don't think Ichigo was dead yet. But I think she was also too shocked to cry because she didn't expect Grimm to take her directly to Ichigo. With Rukia, Orihime saw exactly what happened to her. Not so with Ichigo. Also I think her reaction was in line with how she reacted in chapter 272 when she first felt Ichigo's reiatsu fading. She wasn't crying then either.

Anyway, chapter 277 was just like 270 for me. The script didn't really reveal anything much until you see the pics and you just go WOW!!! I did not expect the little IchiHimeNell family reunion. It was so cute to see Nell just take to Orihime right away. She perched herself on Orihime's shoulder like she did with Ichigo. It's the cutest thing. :biggrinlo

Have you guys been reading the manga and watching the series? It's obvious that inoue is just the sympathy character and in the end she will die while probably switching places with rukia or ichigo in a classic shove out of the way moment because she seems like the sacrificial type of person and realises that she is just a useless sappy character that only gets in the way of ichigo and rukia . All people that think or hope that ichihime will happen have obviously never been in a real relationship and are just in denial because they don't want inoue's weak spirit to be crushed which it will in the end because unlike what some people have stated, her character really has no way to develop. She will always be in the ichiruki background and will always be depressing, and I think we all know that Aizen will kill her after he is done with her. Anyway, one reason why I don't think ichihime will work is because we don't even know if orihime loves him for who he is and not who she wants him or thinks him to be. Rukia and ichigo on the other hand,do not have this problem. They completely understand eachother because they spent so much time together. Ichigo and orihime however, are hardly ever alone together and when they are the topic is usually rukia. Therefore I think that if ichigo does get into a serious relationship, the likelihood of it being with rukia is 91%. Your thoughts please.

No, he wasn't dead when she was still alive. He was dying.

And both Ulqiorra and Szayel were both saying "they took each other out", meaning that they'd died together at the same time. Otherwise, it would have been "you partner is dying" and not "you partner is dead". Ulqiorra doesn't have a reason to lie, he knows how to push Ichigo's and Orihime's buttons.

And by the way, with all your screaming about us lacking proof, I don't get why didn't you post any proof from your side.
