View Full Version : This is probably nothing...

Well yeah. I was bored so I was looking around at all the Zanpakuto, and I looked at a certain someone's and realized something. Generally everyone has a sorta unique sword hilt at the very least when it's normal and in it's sheath and whatnot...

Well I know Aizens clearly, but I never really looked at Isshins, till I relooked through the chapter. Their handguards or tsuba or w/e you want to call it, they're sorta alike. It's probably nothing but I remember a while back hearing a theory about Isshin somehow being involved with Urahara and Aizen or something... anyway here's the swords. Just wondering if people think this is just a weird coincidence or something maybe a bit more.

Yeah, blades are different sizes, but I always found it interesting that each sword has a unique tsuba or w/e... Why are these two kinda the same?

With my luck this has already been made, so go ahead and close it if it has, and sorry.

i think it is a matter of who is the blacksmith or forger...
the sword may have been made by the same guy...? or if this theory does not apply
i think it is a matter of coincidence.

the reason? so far nobody has the same zanpakutou powers as the other, so what do you think, i doubt just because they look the same in normal mode, they are any the same in their released forms. but i think Isshin's is a little cooler, though less elegant as the simplicity of Aizen's

Also, as to what i know, Aizen's sword is a whole lot shorter...maybe a mid length blade in compare to Isshin's

All I see is the same shape and size. As far as design, Isshin's is far moer decorative.

But it could be just a coincedence and nothing more...

I thought maybe the fact their swords look similar, maybe they have somewhat similar powers? Maybe Isshin is what can make them not have to worry about being taken in by the hypnosword so much. And yeah it's a bit bigger, but I think it's just thicker then Aizens. I thought maybe that they were somehow connected, and maybe they could have even been friends or rivals or something. Maybe hang in the same group as Urahara or something.

But yeah, do people make Zanpakutos? I always figured ya just sorta got then when you became a Shinigami. Like how Ichigo, the sword just appeared after he was stabbed. Like it maybe forms once you become a Shinigami and are good enough to either leave the academy or enter it (I forget if everyone had their normal swords in the academy or what).

there is a thread like this is the manga section no?
that is the one.
it discusses how the zanpakutou is made, Raku or someone once said something like how the blade is created by someone and then the blade is given to shinigami's then they just inject some kinda spirit into it.

one of the reason is Tousen;s blade, he took it from his dead love, and then he can use it, plus it looked exactly the same, does that not make sense to you?
it seemed like so. and the way that things are progressing, it seemed that these blades are forged perhaps on its own, but more like it takes the spirit of the owner and changes onto itself and makes an image of itself.

like how maybe ichigo gets the sword, and then automatically, zangetsu goes in.

Ahhhh, alright. Thanks for clearing that up, devildude. I hadn't seen that bit I suppose. But yeah, perhaps then they were made by the same person like you said. And maybe it is a coincidence or something, but I suppose I just like to think there is a connection somewhere between Isshin and Aizen and maybe Urahara. All were captains, maybe all were friends. But I thought maybe Isshin and Aizen could have been like really close. Almost brotherly or something. That's be crazy.

no....i think there is a connection, consider how deep Aizen knows the Hyuogoku, and the history of Urahara and the way Urahara knows isshin, i think there may have been past issues with them, infact, they are probably from the same time.
you see, Isshin is a captain, (proven by his overcoat that is tied to his shoulder), and he left, but there is still the Gotei 13, which means someone replaced him.

who? count the earth years of 20 years, and see how? compared with SS years.

i think Isshin may have been a senior captain before, and one of those like Urahara, Yoruichi, the Vaizards who ran out from SS and came to earth.

and then, what division is Isshin from..? 5th? now that would be fun...but i think he should come from any other division. perhaps from 3rd Div?

cause the reason is that Aizen chose Gin (with an agenda) to move out and become capt. and recruited MoMo as his VC. i think that is the thing.

perhaps there was a plan all along and why Urahara has chosen to run away is not clear yet, perhaps not just exiled, perhaps there is a deeper story.

...

I would have never seen that if you hadn't pointed it out Duo-Xun...

... I'm unable to say at this time whether or not the similarities in the crossguard mean anything...

I mean... we have seen A LOT of swords in this manga.... but the resemblance is so striking that I find it difficult to write it off as merely similar design... hmmmm....

Until I've had more time to think on this matter... I'll leave you guys to it... but there could definitetely be something more to this than meets the eye...

Thanks Duo-Xun for such an excellent observation...

I thought shinigamis received their signature hilt once they released their zanpakutos.
Low-level shinigami seem just to have an oval guard on theirs.
So I dont think anyone "made" their zanpakutos alike. But perhaps it signifies a simmilar ability. Maybe Isshin will be the key to defeating Aizen :D

That's basically what I said before. o.o Lol

And you're welcome I guess, Anil.

But yeah, that's what I was thinking actually. That Isshin was something like the 3rd Division captain. And he was somewhat involved with Aizen or something, or maybe 5th before Aizen became captain or something, maybe even Aizen's captain. I mean, if he's so old that people around Ichigo don't realize the name Kurosaki, then either it's really long ago, long enough so the newer Shini's dont know, or somehow he wiped everyone's memory out or something. God I wish we knew already, I hope we do soon.

yeah i want to learn more about isshin and what happened to him why hes in the human world and all that

Anil

...well about that...

Someone else put this theory out there a while ago but... Kurosaki doesn't have to have been Isshin's real last name... does it...?

Although to be honest I'm almost certain it is... but I'm only human so what do I know... anyway... I've heard lots of theories but... we should consider what little we know about Isshin...

Like...he's a doctor, he has to be at least as old as Urahara ( they talk to each other like equals... or classmates if you want to think of it in that sense)

He seems to know an awful lot of what's been going on... probably been keeping track for his family's sake... and we know that he's captain level...

Anything more than that seems like speculation to me... and even some of this is speculation... now if anyone had recognized the name Kurosaki for someone other than Ichigo, that may have helped me... but the fact of the matter is that the only association that we've seen most of the characters draw from Ichigo's family name is that whole business where he scared off the Menos Grande...

thoughts...?

dontthe users create their own zanpaktous
if they can release their zanpaktou then the hilt changes, just like how ichigos went from a normalsword to his fat finalt fantasy 7 sword haha
