Are Reality Shows Stupid?

I think that reality shows like, Survivor, The Real World, American Idol, Any other Reality shows are extremely stupid. They have people making asses of themselves on National TV. Not even eterntaining i feel sad for most of those people. Also some reality shows arent even real, just a bunch of struggling unknown actors.

I'd only watch reality shows if there's nothing else to watch. The first few ones were pretty good, but now it seems as if the more they make the worse they get. Like American Idol the first one was okay, then after they show'd a few more, bizarre things happened like William Hung making an albulm 0.0

Thats understandable. But i think they are running out of ideas for Reality shows and are currently putting any body they find in the streets on them and make fun of them. Imagin what the producers of American Idol went hrough when they couldnt think of another way to make the shows Better (Stupider) until they looked out the window and Saw William Hung walking outside and said "Hey lets ask that Asian boy if he wants to be on the show, he is asian he probably cant sing anyways.." And so it began.

Everytime i see a reality show I notice that there are Stupid people participating in it. People who obviously dont even watch TV because you wouldnt get tricked on that whole Joe Millionare thing if you see primetime TV. Yet there was a second season and some Girl got tricked into thinking he was a Millionare. So after seeing this I come to the conclusion that, in this country we have so many stupid People. (I am in the U.S so i mean the U.S has Stupid people.)

Okay, the first Joe Millionare was prolly concluded IRL way before it ever aired, and also in the second I think all the chicks wewre like French and they prolly didn't even show the show over there.

The only reason why I started watching Big Brother was because in the first season...someone from down the street of where I lived was on the show. His name was Eddie.

Not that i like these shows, but to correct your ignorance...

The second season of that show consisted of all European women who have very little chance of ever seeing the first season of the show.

As for the general subject. It's stupid people doing stupid things? what is wrong with that? Family guy is the same thing, but a cartoon, and we think it's funny. Does it make you mad because you realize that actual people are that stupid? I hate to break it to you guys, but humans in general are dumb. you cant expect very much from them.

They provide cheap humor, and are occassionally funny. Even if they are mostly stupid, 98% of hte sitcoms on TV now adays the the same thing, just even more scripted. and usually less funny, since "Drew Carey" left the air, i havn;t found a sitcom worth it's weight.

Its just how the set up is for the shows, just dont like the way its looks so fixed, so almost unrealistic like. Well to me, if you want a real reality show go camping or hang in the streets and stores of downtown mad town.

I voted yes, that reality shows are stupid. I mean, most people make fools of themselves. However, I may be very hypocritical here, that I watch some reality shows.

I mean, I used to watch Survivor, but once "All-Stars" was finished, I thought it should've stopped. So boring, and we know that some of it is fake (reacting scenes, etc).

There are so many other shows that are pure stupidity, but I watch them sometimes because its damn hilarious (the things people do...).

The only reality show I really do watch is the "Amazing Race". Yet, people still make fools of themselves on that show.

I think some reality shows are really good or kindhearted. One of my favourites is Extreme Makeover:Home Edition. That show is wonderful. And American Idol never gets old.

But then there are the really played out or trashy shows like The Real Word, The Bachelor, Big Brother. Oh and you know when producers are running out of ideas when they put up a show called "Unan1nimous". That show is the DUMBEST shiz on tv, ever!

Yes they are stupid and a total waste of time, space and money. TV would be much better of if it showed movies, documentaries,comedies, serious talk shows and the like.

In general I find all TV programming to be bad, but the so called "reality" shows are some of the worst things I have had the pleasure of hearing about.

If anyone thinks that major networks would really leave a show that is going to bring in millions of dollars to chance they are fooling themselves. There is nothing real about these shows.

I voted yes because as a general rule, I can't stand reality shows because half of the time there is hardly any reality it them. It's either people being fake, or being mean, selfish, and stupid. Yeah, survivor was ok when it first came out. Oh yeah! In the australian survivor that guy passed out into the fire and it showed his hands which where tottally grilled, it was sweet. Needless to say, he diddnt make it into the finals on the show:P
