submitted for you approval, a hypothetical situation. a shinigami, through means unknown, battles his hollow side in an attempt to become a vaizard. he loses this battle, becoming a hollow, and escapes to hueco mundo, where he falls prey to the cannibalistic orgy that that is the birth of a menos. however his will refuses to be overpowered and when the resulting gillian is born, he is in command. he successfully continues to consume other hollows and eventually becomes an adjuchas and maybe even a vast lorde. in any case, at some point he removes his mask, seals his hollow powers into a zanpakuto, and becomes an arrancar.
the end result? well, that's up for debate.
it's possible that he would simply be a normal arrancar, and that having been a shinigami before becoming a hollow would have no effect on him in the end...
...or perhaps we would get some unexpected results. perhaps in sealing his hollow powers away, rather than simply regaining human form, he would also regain his shinigami power.
perhaps he would have two zanpakuto, one the original manifestation of his shinigami power, the other the sealed form of his hollow power.
perhaps he could even regain his former personality.
your thoughts? holes in my theory? other possible outcomes?
