The rules for the battles are as follows:
1. Each character can use any attack that has been shown in any non-filler episode. If the character has not been shown much, since a certain level of speculation is to be expected, it can be used (Ex. since Halibel hasn’t been shown fighting, her strengths must be speculated about, so she is still a plausible candidate for a battle)
2. You are not required to post a comment about whomever you vote for, but if you vote for a character that has to be speculated about, please at least post your reasons for voting for said character even if it is just because you like the character.
3. Do not purposefully come in and vote for someone that you think will lose just to try and push a weaker character through the brackets. This defeats the purpose of the tournament.
4. All limits placed on Lt. and Capitan rank shinigami are considered lifted for the battle.
5. When considering who to pick as the winner, assume they are fighting in an area devoid of objects that could be used as weapons in battle. This is purely a fight of strength and skill, not who could throw someone else down a cliff or impale them with a rock etc.
6. This is a free for all battle scenario. So even if one of the brackets were to have three Espada and one Shingami, they would not team up against the Shinigami and then battle it out amongst themselves. In other words, even if some combatants would normally team up, they don’t here.
Please follow these rules, and if you think I have really overlooked something important, PM me and I’ll consider weather or not to add it(or if I double posted one character etc.). Also, the combatants are final, if you think I left someone good out, and this tournament goes over well enough for me to consider doing another one, I’ll put them in it if they would fit. I chose characters that are either main combatants in the anime/manga, are not filler characters (let me know if one got in by accident), or if they are popular (as far as I know at least).
I chose the characters for each bracket by assigning them a number and drawing four at a time out of a bag. So the match-ups are completely random.
Another note, you must still follow the general chat rules for CB when posting comments about the current bracket. Since it is almost unavoidable that spoilers will be in here, at least keep them to a minimum, and please use spoiler tags. Remember, just because one of the characters hasn’t been shown in the anime (or dub) does not mean that by reading their name, someone that doesn’t know them will find out any information that might ruin their experience of Bleach. So, again, please still use spoiler tags if you’re going to talk about plot details that haven’t been in the anime yet. [Winners of the previous matches are bolded.]

Oh man, another hard choice!

I'm certain 99% of the people will say "Isshin has this", but let's review, people...

Gin has the most useless shikai to date. A gun isn't much use where people move with enough speed to leave clones of themselves.

But other than that, what have we seen of either? Nothing. Absolutely nothing.

We know that Gin's abilities are in the comfortable 80% of everything level, but Isshin? Nothing. He pwn'd Grand Fisher, and that's it.

I toss a coin for this.

Isshin.

Meh, based on what's been shown, i'd say Gin. Massive long range attack - and the blade can be swung around. Isshin has a shikai and a bankai, but for all we know, it could be a healing type.

Can't really discuss anything here, because we have seen neither in action.

But let's see,

A current captain (Gin) therefore less experienced.

Or a former shinigami we suspect as captain, and due to plot, would HAVE to have been very powerful, since he has yet to be shown fighting at full power.

This would mean down the line Isshin will fight someone powerful. Not to mention he's the hero's father, whose reiatsu is extremely high.

I think we are all forgetting that Gin was one of the defecting captains. Yeah, he may have seemed a bit pathetic in his show so far, but he could have been doing the "holding back" thing that we are so fond of speculating Tosen was doing during the Zaraki battle. Isshin, it is safe to assume, has been out of the game for quite a while. So, in a match up at this moment in the story, I am going with Gin simply because he hasn't left the battlfield and would have a great advantage over Isshin in that reguard.

I would love to say Gin , but sadly its more likely that Isshin would be the victor.

Reasons? Already stated.
Mainly because he is Ichigo's father. And we all know Ichigo's potential could be a threat to even Aizen. Isshin's potential probably is lower than Ichigo's (the plot requires this) but he wont be weak either.

Gin may be a defecting captain, but I fail to see how that makes him superior to Isshin.

Usually, the bad guy's subordinates are beaten by the main character's side-kicks, i.e., Ishida and Chad.

Isshin is superior to Ishida and Chad...

I will say Isshin, but it's still a tough call in my opinion. I don't think Gin is a pushover at all. Just the fact that he works with Aizen and is like his right hand is enough for me to think he's a pretty tough guy. Someone as tactical and smart as Aizen would hardly pick a weakling to be his sidekick (unless he purposely picked a weak person so he can have someone easy to manipulate like he's so fond of doing).

But I think Isshin would take this. He spanked Grand Fisher and is the father of the main character who is very powerful.

My vote went to Isshin.

Gin seems like he'd be a handful for pretty much anyone, but giving the Grand Fisher a one hit kill says a lot in my book.

I think Isshin must be hiding some serious power. He was a captain and probably has several times more experience than Gin. Not to mention his son is some kind of shinigami prodigy. He blasted an arrancar with one strike, but honestly any vice captain could've taken that one.

Gin is one of the weakest captains based on the captain data chart things. He's even below Hitsugaya. His sword is interesting, but I can't imagine it's attack would be effective against anything but large slow objects.

Isshin's role is more significant so i'll go with him.

Kurosaki is the winner. I'm going to set up the tiers for the next set of rounds and I'll have them posted shortly. We're drawing close to the final battle!

Note: Since this was battle 7, and I intend on doing more 1 on 1 battles, I'm going to let Isshin have the pass on the next round.
