I just saw this when I went to google.com. The site was black so I felt like reading why. Since it's only for an hour I might do it, I could just take a nap for that one hour or something like that.

Yup, it's just my room tho, cuz I live an a university campus, and I'll probably get yelled at if I turned off the whole floor's lights xD

*makes note to KEEP all lights on at 8:00pm http://img176.imageshack.us/img176/3048/iconpiratevq7.gif*

What difference is it gonna make? Climate change is gonna happen with or without human involvement >.>

So no I'm not gonna partake in this. Yes I'm a horrible person :o

Um... if I remember... no, probably not. I need electricity to do my hw. Blame school for this. :p

Donut

No. It's not going to change anything, so whatever. And I don't need to hear the "oh but if everyone thinks like you... etc".

Not the same as voting.

i don't really get the point really why to do it but i think i'll try. but why do u have to turn the lights off?

berserk
03-30-2008, 12:31 AM
Yeah. Sounds like a nice cause and thing to do. But, I don't think so. Not to sound like a douche but I'll just pass on it. Agreed that it won't help stop/defer climate change.

Haha I did it, just for the sake of it ^_^ There were fireworks over the Sydney Harbour Bridge when 9 struck lawl.

To help reduce the effects of climate change. =D

I did it! I'm proud of it!

I was Mia's house at the time and we played monopoly with the aid of two candles in one room. =D

Mia just kept on playing with the wax, burnt herself, but kept doing it. -.-

One hour seemed to fly by. :)

I didn't do it, But I turn off all of the lights and unplug the dvd player and all of those things every night. So, I guess that does the same thing.
Only difference is I do it every night : p

Apparently that's still called Earth Hour. :P

Except they have it as "Earth Hour Everday".

I think.

Too lazy to check the facts.

But you can read it on www.earthhour.org

:)

Or somewhat bla bla bla. >.>

Not make a change? Wtf.

If I recall correctly, in Sydney alone, when the lights were turned off for that hour, it saved enough power to temporarily power TWO power stations.

This is just off memory, but apparently in Syd alone, it was also equal to powering a few thousand cars

And yeah I did it.

Xkavanger

^ I also heard that it was a Sydney movement, last year.

Then it became a global movement.

If I read it correctly. :)

To help reduce the effects of climate change. =D

Oh lord I lol'd XD

Nothing will reduce the effects of climate change, it's gonna happen. This is just another feel good thing like carbon credits that in the long run do nothing.

Heard about it, then I saw Google.com.

I told my dad to do it, but he couldn't hear me over having his powerhouse of a computer turned on with all the lights also on. :/ W/ever, I did my part I turned off the lights in the room I was in.

Xkavanger

^ Good on you. :3

Semo: -.-

Remember what Dec said? (Off his memory bank,) Sydney had:
saved enough power to temporarily power TWO power stations.

And how will that NOT make a difference?

Neku

I turned off my big light and put my lamp on, does that count, lul. :p

Guy
04-01-2008, 03:43 AM
Hmm... I didn't do it, but all the lights in my house were off whenever I go to bed... so that's seven hours of no electricity in my house. I guess that's better, eh?
