Hello my name is Vace and some people may know me for making outrageous claims now and again on the Bleach Manga forum, but what I’m most known for is my fan fictions. Unlike other writers I have my own style and I feel that it helps to involve others into my story. You see as a fan fiction it should be assisted by not one but several fans. We as a community of bleach readers should partake in various aspects of the Bleach universe. As such I like to allow others to join my fan fictions by creating characters for them.
Now how could many people be involved in one story its simple. I as the writer already have the main story of what will happen mapped out. However My story has no characters as of yet, this means that it’s up to you to fill in the gaps. Since life itself is filled with many people with very different aspects on life usually banding together for one common goal I like to think this helps. It means that like in life I have to mold my story around the characters given to me, rather than change them to fit my stories desires. While you don’t get direct writing privileges you do get to give me whatever input you want on your characters as they interact with one another and help the story to progress.

So how do you join this phenomenon? It’s simple. To join all one needs to do is create a Shingami character. With the various aspects listed below.
-Name
-Height
-Weight
-Hair Color
-Eye Color
-General Appearance (if you want to use or submit pictures as a reference feel free)
-Background (No captain or Vice Captain references, don’t say you’re the best at anything this is a fan fiction you can’t boast about your skills and your achievements’ I want to just know basics that help form your character)
-Personality (simple works best just traits that help form it)
-Zanpakuto (ok this is the big one I need to know what It looks like sealed, shikai and bankai though note none of the characters even mine have bankai yet which will be explained in below. This means don’t mention that you have it because none of the characters know what their bankai is yet considering none of them will have it. Don’t boast about its power and please keep within reason. Zanpaku-to are either Kido or physical types so remember that. Shikai with kido abilities only have one or two simple abilities. Rukia is the ladder but don’t do three your limit is two abilities at most. Just please try and keep your Zanpaku-to simple, sometimes people just keep adding and adding abilities and such to make their character ridiculous. Just be creative and simple)
-Fighting style

Now that you know what you need to submit to me here is the overview of what the story will entail.

Seretei is in unrest. Not only is hollow activity at an all time high but the Quincy have refused to back down and stop killing them. With the vast amount of hollow slaughter the balance is near shattering and endangers all plains of existence. With the possibility of everything falling apart and a looming threat from two sides of a conflict Seretei decides to place everything on the line and sends all its highest members into combat. Hope seems nearly lost with little progress, that is until the few left behind take a stand. A group of young hopefuls has banded together with the purpose of gaining strength as best they can to aid in Seretes fight. Led by a dismissed shinigami captain can these young shinigami gain strength in time to save Seretei, or will all be lost.

The story takes place a long time before the story which we know now so shinigami and events will differ greatly. Since the ex captain cant help everyone at once the shinigami have banded into seven teams of four. That leaves you with many spot to fill except of course the one I fill.

Team slots (they don’t mean anything now but will latter just helps to reference how many spots are open, since seven times four is 28 and there is a spot filled by my character already that leaves enough room for 27 of you to fill so start to sign up right away and post your characters info for all to see.)

-Background: Syler is an interesting shinigami. In the academy he was known to be a very outgoing person and always enthusiastic. He was known to be somewhat of a perfectionist at time and always stayed after hours to hone his skills. When entering soul society he was placed into the thirteenth division and fit right into the friendly environment till one day for some unknown reason he was sent to earth to fight hollows. It is unknown why a shinigami with such little skill and strength was sent to perform such a task, but what is known is that his captain Ukitake actually suggested and made the order. Many looked at it as a way of Ukitake loosing it but for some reasons the other captains all thought that this action wasn’t that big of a deal. Upon the outbreak of the conflict when every captain and seated officer was sent to do battle Syler was ordered to return but for reasons unknown he disobeyed that order and remained on earth. He has since been dragged back to seretei by force from his seated squad mates and faced a small trial in which he was forced to do services to make up for his behavior. Syler is not who he once was which makes other Shinigami talk and spread rumors about what happened to him on earth. While still rather upbeat he has a heightened sense of pessimism and sarcasm as well as a more serious outlook on life. Also another puzzling thing about him is that before going to earth he was known to be an amazing swordsman but now wears his Zanpakuto at his side chained shut.
-Zanpakuto:

Sealed- It is a regular blade with an interesting tsuba resembling that of Shinji Hikaro’s yet the design on it has some weird swirls on it. The color of the tsuba is a dark silver steal and the handle lace color is white. In the middle of the handle however there is a strange symbol which seem to have significance. The blades sheath is pitch black. The chain holding the blade shut is white.

Shikai-
Name: Kadjata (Sleepy Hollow :pronounced Kay-Ja-Ta)
Info: No one has ever seen the shikai though it is rumored by many it is a possible reason why he was sent to earth. There is a rumor that the blade retains an ability linking it to a hollows which would make it the only zanpaku-to in history to do so. (Note the emphasis on only so no one can have a similar ability lol this spoiler is to help you understand that this is story significant).

Bankai-Unkown

-Fighting style: He was known before leaving to be a pupil of form nine of Zanpaku-to combat which was a very risky style of fighting. However since recently returning he seems to rely on Kido to fight and is using Jukedno which is a style of fighting which mixes hand to hand combat with that of kido moves. It is strange for this to be the case because it was known that Syler loved Zanpaku-to combat and is known to believe that Zanpauk-to is the number one priority for a wielder to master because it’s part of who they are.

Appearance: Usually wears shabby clothing more suited to that of someone who lives in the wilderness his hair is although spikey usually quite unkept and he wears a white strip of cloth around his hair to keep it in place, giving him a rebellious looking nature.

Personality

A rough spoken kid with a fiery temper. Laterous is often rude an impatient, but inside has a heart that appriciates life and its wonders. He will often stop out of no-where to gaze upon a cherry blossom tree and take in its majestic beauty, or anything that truely represents the gift of life. Though rude and misunderstood he will often save lives, not because he is kind, but because he wishes not to see a life go to waste.


Background

Past Life

Laterous when he was alive lived as a wanderer that went from town to town. Not much was known about him, other than his parents were apparently killed in a house fire, leaving him with his uncle and aunty. His uncle and aunty treated him cruelly and he ran away from home and was living as a wanderer until his death at age 19. He was said to have been set upon by a group of men that went around hunting down homeless or unfortunate people, killing them to 'Save Society from Ruin' Laterous was swept up and brutally clubbed to death.

Soul Society

Once coming to soul society he was lost in the backstreets of Rukongai, preferring to hide himself away. Wandering he took refuge in the woods that surround the outer limits of Rukongai, there he made his home. Living in the forest caused him to rely on his own skills to survive, this included the attempts to kill him by the many bandits that inhabited the woods, becoming strong so that he could survive. One day while wandering through the forest he came upon a place that he had not seen before, it was a massive house that was hidden away in the forest. He had not eaten for a while so he broke into the house in search of food, where he was set upon by the guards that inhabited the nobles mansion. Laterous fought off the guards to escape through the other side until he was confronted by a man dressed in white robes, the man in an instant defeated Laterous, disarming his weapon. The man inquired why Laterous had broken into his house, and Laterous answered him honestly. The man exclaimed that Laterous was strong for defeating his guards and that perhaps he could work for food and on the condition that he studied in the academy. Laterous grudgingly agree'd and began to take lessons at the academy. Laterous quickly grew to like the routine and work that the academy brought out in him, and devoted himself to training and getting stronger. Not only that but the master of the house taught Laterous the meaning of life and how it is precious, telling him that in learning to paint the sky, the tree's and the water, he is gaining a true appriciation for his own fortunes. Many years past an Laterous mastered the art of shikai, learning the name of his blade, and becoming one with it, not only that but Laterous had also risen to the art of a master painter, succeeding his own masters skills. Not long after Laterous achieved this, the master of his home fell ill and died, leaving Laterous, his only relation and adopted son, the estate. Laterous continues to press himself to the limits, to honour the memory of his master and adopted father, and what he taught him about life.

He is often misunderstood by those in soul society and the academy, although having great talent he does not have many friends, often preferring to keep to himself. He spends most of his free time (when not training) painting in the forest surrounding the estate.



Kaijin

Look: Metalic with specks of what looks like ash with a grainy look to it. Other wise it looks like a normal katana.


Black rain, burning heart, death door step lies in hells furnace, Blaze Kaijin!

Shikai: The specks that cover the sword suddenly multiple and completely swallow the sword in a black layer of ash like coating and the sword transforms to become a black saber.

Shikai Attack: Ash Blaze

When swung the saber throws out ash, so even if the opponent dodges the attack they are still going to be hit by the ash that flies forth when attacking. The ash is very sticky so that when it lands on the opponent it cannot be shaken free. Whenever the wielder wishes he uses the command ‘Blaze!’ and the sword glows a neon red colour like lava, if the opponent is struck with the wielders sword while in blaze mode, not only have they the chance to be burnt, when the Blaze saber hits the ash on the opponents body it causes the ash to ignite setting the opponent on fire or even in worse case scenario’s exploding on contact.

Shikai Attack: Blaze Slash

While slashing out with the ash, Laterous instantly changes into Blaze Mode causing the ash thats being sent out to instantly turn to fire, when this is sent forth it is an extremely quick process. So all the opponent will see is Laterous yelling Blaze Slash and a sudden burst of vertical fire in the shape of a slash blazing towards them across the ground or through the air.



Bankai: The Blaze saber rises from the wielders hand and disitigrates turning into fire, shooting into the air. The sky grows dark and ash rains from the sky. As the ashes touch the wielder they become armour and a sword forms in his hand. The ash and the sword being the same reitsu and consistency, means that the sword may contort and grow as it pleases, reaching bizarre angles and lengths.

Bankai Attack: Unlimited Fire Art.

The sword again glows red with the ash, the effect that when it is dragged along through the ash rain it becomes a like a paint brush, the paint being flames that flare in the open air. This allows for the manipulation of these flames that are dragged through the air, suspended fires, the air is Laterous’s canvas, and the art he can create is the enemy’s downfall. He can use his firey air art to create whatever he pleases in the air, made from flames.


Fighting style:

Laterous prides himself on the grace that he shows on the battle field, though in personality he is tempered, his sword flows through the air like a swan gliding across the lake. His saber is wielded with precision and skill.

Name : Yabuninga Iiso
General Appearance (http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c356/high_on_shugar/Anime%20Boys/0809.jpg) : Appears to be around the age of eighteen. His blonde hair normally covers the left side of his face. His Shinigami attire is rather baggy - moreso than the norm - despite his somewhat small size. He's built like an athlete, meaning underneath the clothing lies quite a bit of muscle.

Eye Color : Deep Blue



Basics (Human) : Quick to anger, and even quicker to shoot without warning or reason, Iiso tends to get out of control rather easily. However, though his actions may be of anger most of the time, his face hardly ever shows the rage he feels; instead, a grin cracks his lips whenever he's in battle.

Basics (Shinigami, Post-Academy) : Having to surpress his anger for so long just to get by in Rukongai, Iiso has learned to somewhat keep his reckless actions sealed within him in most situations. However, should something tick him off, all hell breaks loose...

Likes/Dislikes :
- Likes food of all kinds, his favorite being ramen. Though, he's not too fond of bitter/sour foods and snacks.
- Due to being forced to live off of it for some time, Iiso hates water - drinking only liquids with 'flavoring', if only with added sugar.
- Iiso seems to despise animals for whatever reason, the only exception apparently being foxes (oh snap!).

Born an only child to a well-off couple, Iiso's childhood was pretty average. At first, he was a decent guy, not one to start conflicts with others, and even defending those who couldn't do so themselves. However, after the death of his father, things began to change. His mother was forced to work a second job to support them, so his teenage years were lived without parental guidance.

Then, the violence began. For seemingly no reason, Iiso began to pick fights with other kids at school, even those he used to 'defend'. Because of this, his schoolmates began to seperate themselves from him, and it wasn't before long that he was forced into solitude.

Though the circumstances of his death are still foggy, it is believed that he met his fate due to an accidental drug (medical) overdose, attempting to subdue a headache he probably gained through daily fights.. and stress.



After his untimely demise, Iiso found himself in what appeared to be a rural-esque village. He had no recollection of his past, or how he had even gotten to where he was. All he could remember was a name - which he assumed to be his own, and thus refered to himself as such. And, for whatever reason, he had a splitting headache.

Eventually, that headache would soon fade away, though his memory continued to escape him. Alone, confused, and harboring a rage deep within, Iiso began to wander the town he found himself in. There, he came in contact with various people of a myriad of backgrounds.

According to some, they had been living there for quite some time, though few seemed to know how they got there - and even fewer remembered their past life.

He had no ambition, and no means of gaining acceptance. All he knew was that he had to hide the rage within, lying to those he met in order to receive information on the village. He soon found out that he was within 'Rukongai', an eerie town where most of its inhabitants knew not of their past, and had awoken within the village - alone, much like himself.

Though his past was a mystery, he remembered all about food. After awhile in the village, hunger struck him. When he asked for food, he received nothing more than water. At first - to his surprise - it smothered his hunger, but after awhile.. he found it was not enough.

How humans could live off of water alone was quite confusing to him, though he knew there were more important matters to ponder upon.

Learning of the Gotei 13 from a few well-informed villagers, he decided to try and gain entrance so that he may get some answers.


Fighting Style : Iiso normally battles in a reckless mannor, using his body as a weapon, and those around him as living shields. Ruthless to all those he considers an 'enemy', he fights violently and with killing intent. It should be noted that - even though his Zanpakuto is Kido-based - he battles close range when its sealed. Meaning that he doesn't use much of Kido at all beside his Zanpakuto.

Future Goals : Iiso loves to improve, though hates it when others state that he needs to do so. Quite fond of fast-paced battles, Iiso would love to learn Shunpo, and all evasive techniques related to it.

Due to finally gaining acceptance - or rather, enough to be satisfied - Iiso now lives day by day, having no real purpose other than to become stronger... faster...


Appearance : Myoujou no Kimagure ("Lucifer's Whim"), a standard looking Zanpakuto; black sheathe and hilt, though guardless, unlike most Zanpakuto.


Incantation : "Enlighten. / Illuminate." ((Whichever.))

Sasayaki Awai ("Fleeting Whisper") : Slashing his Zanpakuto gives off waves of glistening white light which, upon touch, tends to send shockwaves of pain throughout the targets' body - much like electricity would. In flight, the waves glisten so quickly it appears as though its flashing in and out of sight.

Hitonami no Shiro Gouzen ("Stampede of Roaring White") : Stabbing his Zanpakuto forth sends out a decent sized beam of white energy which, due to its apparent envelopement of golden electricity, can shock those who attempt to deflect it. The bulk of the attack is light-based, and will burn at touch; much like Sasayaki Awai, this technique is rather bright.

Iiso's Zanpakuto morphs and multiplies into four blades of silver steel - estravegent strands of gold and white embracing them; four swords, merged two-and-two by a black hilt, now rest within his palms.

His Shinigami attire whites out and undergoes a metamorphosis of sorts as well. When all is done, his clothing from head to toe is a clean white, and a hood now covers his head; beneath the hood, an amber shine emits from his pupils.

((You wanted a large Bankai, no?))

Tenchuu ("Pillars Supporting Heaven") : His dual-bladed Zanpakuto(s) levitate beside him, spinning in place rapidly while encased in white-gold sparkles. The energy emitted from this event form two massive pillars of white-gold energy which then proceeds to race around the field in an attempt to crush his foes - burning upon touch, and blinding those who gaze into their radiance, the pillars spin fiercely like tornadoes.

I'll join in on the fun, but aren't getting a bit ahead of yourself, Vace? I mean, you haven't even finished your The Espada's Tale yet. Just wondering.

I created a character back when you were just getting started with the HM Arc, but it was never used. So here goes again. Also, the character is best friends with my other Shinigami character, Shirogunjin Ryurenso (Western: Ryurenso Shirogunjin). I'll still have to create the zanpakutou. The character is based on legendary Japanese warlord Honda Tadakatsu (Western: Tadakatsu Honda).

Name: Daimyō Honda (Western: Honda Daimyō)
Age: Appears to be 21 years old
Height: 6'02”
Eyes: An intense greenish blue (leans more towards blue than green)
Hair: A gold-ish blonde
Zanpakutō: Tonbogiri (English: ‘Dragonfly Cutter’)

Appearances:
A slender but strong, spontaneous young man. He’s very charismatic and cunning. His head covered by a bunch of golden locks which look blown about. He has very bright blue eyes with a touch of green mixed in. A certain stern look radiates from his face most of the time. He has a tattoo of his mon, his family crest, on his face. The mon is the only clue remaining from his life on earth. He keeps it hidden underneath his hair, but the tattoo runs from his nose all the way up to his forehead. Why he keeps it hidden is a mystery. The same crest is also tattooed on his back. There, the tattoo starts somewhere between the shoulder blades and ends on the back of his neck and also ends on both of his shoulders. He wears the usual Shinigami robe, but over the kimono he wears a kataginu, a sleeveless vest with exaggerated shoulders. It has the same colour as his eyes, and there is a white dot on either side of the pieces of cloth that are tucked into the sash, which is white. He doesn’t seem to wear the lower part of the kamishimo, the hakama.

Profile:
Not much is known about Honda’s life as a human. We only know he died at the age of 21, which is why he appears to be of that age. However, Honda has died several centuries ago and is much older than his appearances may suggest.

Daimyō Honda grew up in the 65th district of East Rukongai. Honda never was a rich person and struggled to survive the harsh conditions of the outer districts of Rukongai. He soon learned that knowing how to handle a weapon was of great importance, for riots and street fights regularly took place. Being a bright blonde lad, Honda was often a target for street thugs who thought to make a quick buck. But this was not the case with Honda, because Honda was talented at handling weapons. He could wield a sword like no other and nobody could beat him when he was armed with a long pole.

The great poverty eventually got to him, and he wanted to leave this harsh life behind him. With all his hard earned money, he went to rent the most beautiful outfit he could find. He took a bath in of the many rivers of East Rukongai. He had to get into Seireitei, where a better life awaited him. He actually got a few decent clothed men to pretend to be his servants. With his charismatic face, slender posture and snobby performance, he managed to tricked the guardian of the eastern gate into believing he was of noble blood. Honda claimed he sent his Hell Butterfly to his parents to tell them he was returning from his exhausting trip to Rukongai. He was lucky. The eastern gate guardian was in a good mood and lifted the gate, ‘for just this once’.

Finally, Hondas cunning mind got him into Seireitei. A wealthy life lay ahead of him, or so he imagined. Not having a single penny anymore, Honda had to steal his meals to survive. One night, he figured a noble family could miss some food and clothes, being the rich snobs that they are. Honda figured wrong. He was caught by surprise by the head of the family. Instead of handing him over to shinigami to expel him from Seireitei, the head thought it would be nice to test this charismatic young man in a battle. Being the gentleman that the head of the noble family is, he took two swords and gave one to Honda to fight with. The battle did not quite turn out the way the noble head had expected. With above human speed and reflexes Honda beat the noble man fair and square. These capabilities were also noticed by several attending shinigami.

The rumour of an outsider with an incredible sense of speed beating the head of a noble family soon spread throughout the entire academy. Representatives of the Shinigami Academy wanted to know the truth about this outsider, quickly dubbed ‘Dragonfly’ by many of the younger shinigami of the academy, and visited the head of the noble family.
He verified this rumour and also said he gave the young man shelter, as a reward of beating him. Honda was challenged to a friendly battle with one of the representatives. Easily beating the representative, Honda was invited to a place in the Shinigami Academy. He immediately said ‘yes’, since becoming a shinigami was his lifetime dream.

Having mastered all melee-fighting techniques within a month, Honda focused his attention on kidō, the demon arts.
He mastered all the basic spells within two months, and even the advanced spells, only meant for full-fledged shinigami with at least three years of experience, were mastered within three months. Honda, or ‘Dragonfly’ as he was still called by many, was a natural and had become a shinigami in only two years. He gained his very own zanpakutō.

He soon learned that his zanpakutō was called Tonbogiri, which fitted with his nickname. Honda was asked to join the … Division. He was immediately promoted to fifth seat, seeing as his skills outclassed the majority of the shinigami by far. He had completely mastered his Shikai and all capabilities that came with it. It was a promising start.

When promoted, Honda suddenly matured. He felt he couldn’t be a goofball anymore now that he gained responsibilities. Of course, having fun is part of life, but from that moment he knew that he had been given a leading role in the division. This mental growth caused him to be promoted to fourth seat.
Now Bankai was all that was left for him to reach. He thought he was not nearly skilled enough to master the ultimate technique a shinigami could possibly learn, but it came to him just in time. A mission on Earth gone wrong proved that his will to live was more powerful than he had imagined and it’s what saved his hide. Although the Bankai wasn’t nearly as powerful as when it is when fully mastered, it was enough to beat the legions of Hollows that had ambushed him. Ashamed of already being able to perform Bankai while being a shinigami for only two and a half years, Honda hid the fact from his Captain, Vice Captain and any other shinigami.

Hondas best friend was and still is Shirogunjin Ryurenso, or Ryu as he prefers to call him. They met each other for the first time in front of the nobleman’s house, where the fight between Honda and the nobleman took place. Ryu was a spectator of the battle, coincidentally passing by at the right moment. They didn’t speak to each other, but Ryu was definitely impressed by Hondas capabilities. A second meeting occurred when the two accidentally bumped into each other in Shinigami Academy. They had a conversation about each others capabilities and skills and kept in touch. At the graduation ceremony, Honda (who wasn’t a graduate at that time) was the one that said Ryu should confess his love for Kotetsu Isane, which he eventually did. They kept in touch and one year later, Honda also graduated. Ryu and Honda were like blood brothers, inseparable as friends. Everything Honda kept a secret from everybody else was never a secret to Ryu. This was also the case with his Bankai. Even though Honda trained it to perfection, he wouldn’t tell his (Vice) Captain. Ryu shared this vision once he also was able to perform Bankai. Eventually the Captain noticed the stagnation in Hondas progress, and decided to have a good conversation with him. It was in this talk that Honda came clean and showed Bankai to him. The Captain was impressed by the great explosion of reiatsu that was released and the techniques Honda devised. Taichō decided it was the right time to test Hondas true capabilities in one-on-one fight, both Bankai. Even though Honda lost, the Captain claimed that Honda matched the level of at least a Vice Captain. After fighting Hondas Bankai, it became clear to the Captain that Honda was a descendant of a legendary general that served the shōgun several centuries ago. That general wielded a mighty spear on the battlefield, many centuries ago. It was quite the shock for him. After all these years he finally got to know his ancestry and was able to explain the crest tattoos that adorn his body.

From here, the story continues.

Tonbogiri materializes as a gigantic and majestic dragonfly. Instead of an exoskeleton, it is covered in spiky emerald scales, giving off a soft radiant glow. The glowing scales can form (moving) patterns, which Tonbogiri can regulate himself. On its head are a magnificent pair of golden antlers, reaching into the sky. Its wings are enormous, each wing being made pure vibrating energy giving off a bright golden glow. Golden spikes adorn its body. Overall Tonbogiri can be quite intimidating, because Tonbogiri does not fool around. If you want to use his powers and become a warrior amongst warriors, you must obey his orders and follow his strict code. Only then a power larger than anyone could imagine is granted to you.

Sealed Appearance

When sealed, first impressions will say that Tonbogiri is not much of a sword. It’s smaller than your average katana (it’s actually a wakizashi) and it has no crossguard. The wakizashi has an exceptionally large hilt, nearly 8 inches long. The hilt is segmented and coloured an emerald green. The blade is circa 12 inches long and incredibly sharp. It has been claimed that Tonbogiri is not a useful weapon in combat because of the small range of the blade. There’s truth in there: a sealed Tonbogiri isn’t exactly made to fight with (its design is not optimal for combat). Rather, its function lies in making the opponent underestimate the might of the sword and its wielder. This gives the wielder an advantage, namely the element of surprise. More experienced warriors won’t be fooled by this trick though. Honda wears the emerald green sheath on his side, with the cutting edge downwards. Sword and sheath together form a sleek curved staff which looks like an emerald green bōken.

- Honda is popular with the ladies, even though he sees most of them as a nuisance.
- Hondas past as a human is a complete mystery. Honda does not remember a single thing from his life in the real world.

(Note: I know that ‘Honda’ is the family name of Honda Tadakatsu, but I thought Honda was a nice first name for this character. That’s why I chose Daimyō as a last name, which were the most powerful feudal rulers of Japan from the 10th to the 19th century. Tadakatsu served under the shōgun Tokugawa Ieyasu. Daimyō literally means ‘great name’.)

His standard shinigami attire hides his wiry build, often giving people the wrong impression of his strength. His right eye is a deep red, unlike his blue left.

Personality: Ryume can simply be summed up in one word: Lecher. He loves to oggle and handle women of various classes from underclassmen to superior officers. He loves to live life in a spontaneous manner and always loves to have a laugh. But this is with friends. Around enemies he takes a more... tenacious stance, being strict and forceful... and sometimes downright cruel.

Background: Ryume was always an easy going guy, just hanging out with his friends and getting into trouble with the many female figures of his community. Through this attitude people found it hard to take him seriously.

Then one fateful night, he and his friends drove home from their graduation party completely tanked. Skidding around the corner, Ryume's mates told him to slow down but... crash. The cars was totalled, however the cause was not what it appeared to be.

A cero had hit Ryume's car, killing most of his friends upon impact. He himself lay up against a telephone pole, holding his bleeding right eye as the asailant prepared to swallow his soul. Before his sight faded, a mighty slash finished the beast and voice told him he was free now.

And that is all he remembers before coming to Rukongai, and before his right eye took a different color. He was noticed by shinigami when he defended a poor family from a group of rough thugs. This was the first display of the cruel side he had subconciously developed.

From there on out he worked hard in his work as a shinigami, though his lecherous attitude has become legendary, in a sense.

Fighting Style: Just jump in and see what happens. This explains his fighting style perfectly.

Appearance: Viridian Spider - Has the shape of a standard katana, all except for the guard which is in the shape of two crossed fangs and black in color.

Appearance: Ryume's bankai is released by calling it after stabbing himself in the chest with it. Gravity Web: Ryume's new limbs fire a dense web made of reiatsu, to trap his opponents. While the web is in contact with their body their center of gravity is increased, rendering them immobile.

10 Year Pulsar: Ryume points his limbs forward manifesting an orb of purple energy, almost akin to cero. Firing it, it zips into a dimension hole, travelling ten years into the future... and gathering power with it. When it returns it opens in the sky like Garganta, raining purple beam down upon the battlefield.

Personality/Background:
Amaya is headstrong in personality but often hides it behind a calm exterior. Her words are sometimes sharp, sometimes a little playful. She would rather use words as her arsenal than use her zanpakutou, but will use unarmed techniques. She can silently read other people but does not let her findings be known unless it is necessary, or to the people she trusts. She dislikes people who pretends to be someone they're not. She enjoys drinking green tea and eating mochi. In the shadow of night, she likes going out to the fields and dancing with the wind. She can be very affectionate sometimes but hides the pain of losing a loved one.

Amaya came from the 32nd district. She was raised by two elderly people, who thought her to act with poise and grace. She developed a habit of dancing in at night and was found by her guardians one night when it was raining. They decided to give her the name 'Amaya', meaning Night Rain. Through her years, she was ridiculed by some people because of her looks and nature. She would not retaliate unless they pushed her too far. One day a group of thugs came into their district and her guardians were caught in between. Despite not having a weapon, Amaya made do with what she had, which was a wooden pole and attacked the thugs, just as a group of shinigami came. She defeated them and was suprised to find the same shinigami that had she had seen a couple of times in her district. He was impressed with her skill and insisted she join the Academy. At first she was hesitant until her guardians made her go.

Through her training, Amaya excelled on Kido and agility, and was soon invited into the ??? division by the same shinigami, who she later found out to be of captain rank. She continues to strengthen her abilities, wanting to be better for the sake of her willpower.

Future Goals: Learning Kido and Shunpo. She would also like to learn how to supress her reaitsu.

Appearance:
The zanpakutou emits a green light, transforming it into Amaya's shikai. Her shikai looks like the torns of a rose, with a replica of her hairclip as its guard. It acts like a whip with sharp edges and it allows Amaya to extend or retract her whip quickly so that it looks like a mirrored image.

Shikai Attack: Miki Toki - Flower stalk's time of opportunity
Amarante will envelop around a target as a centrepoint and at Amaya's will, will shoot out several poisoned torns at the target and the resounding area. The torns will disappear at Amaya's will and the wounds would close up but will still leave traces of the damage inflicted.

Appearance:
Amaya is engulfed in a green light as Amarante disperses into the air, changing the battle ground into a black abyss with a stalk lining. When the green light subsides, Amaya's shinigami outfit becomes a short white kimono with a green and gold hash. A giant flower bud is seen. it's petals open to show a young girl of pastel green complexion with emerald green hair and purple eyes. This is similar to Kagami Amarante's human form. It acts as a defence for Amaya, along with her flower stalks when her target attacks her. She uses the stalks to attack, and the abyss helps echo the movements, making it hard to fight without hard concentration.

Bankai Attack: Kyoko Hana Kei - Mirror of rapturing flowers
Several stalks shoot out and the torns seem to have small green spheres on them. Besides the torns, the spheres will stick on you, sometimes blowing up on impact or draining small reiatsu particles from the targets' body. This distraction hides Amaya or other stalks from attacking. Kagami Amarante's main form will launch itself at the target(s) and seemingly disappear into thousands of sakura petals. As swiftly as Amarante disappears, the petals start swirling around the target(s) and the speed of it allows it to cut through and poison. While this occurs, Amarante puts itself together again, and shoots a giant sphere at the target(s). The calmness of this attack is very much like a venus flytrap.

Fighting style:
Amaya is very graceful on the battlefield but her skill with her zanpakutou requires a lot of precision. She is the one who will resort to fighting last.

Awsome bios just get more people and more and remember when the fic starts we will all be relativly weak no one will have bankai most of us wont know how to use Shikai well we arell newer shinigami as this allows for teh fic to grow. Just keep that in mind with character bio's they arnt masters of anything or relativly that great in any field they may have a proficency with one but no beggining can shoot for the moon out of the gate.

Eh.. something just hit me: how can characters be of approximately the same age or evenly skilled if some of the characters died in the Edo period about six hundred years ago while others died recently (i.e. car accident)? I designed my character to be a descendant of an legendary daimyō (Honda Tadakatsu), but Imans character apparantly lived ín that time period. So that if this story would take place now/near future/couple of year ago, then some of the character (like Imans) would be much much older than others.

So the question is: when does the story take place?

About the age thing, its irrelevant, I suppose. Experience doesn't always equal power. Someone can be VC class for centuries in times of peace, and not get stronger until things start to get ugly - and they're required to become more powerful... or die.

Then there's prodigies, and all that. But yeah, I don't think Vace'll take into account the age of the characters that much. Otherwise, it'd be too easy for everyone to show each other up by making their character older. -_-

Oh yeah, by the way, did I mention that Yabuninga Iiso is 1000 yrs old? He just looks 18 because he thinks that age is hawt. >: /

Ok overview please everyone read because its important.

The Shinigami fan fiction is very very very close to the manga. While my current one is somewhat far fetched the shinigami one will be more strict on limitations of characters much like the anime is.

A shinigami "Rarley" as in one in a million, has the chance of remembering their life as a human. It has been stated not only in the manga but also directly in the movie which may be non cannon but like Urahara says, " It is extreamly rare for a shinigami to remember anything about their past."

It is why when Shinigami die and end up in Rukongai they are so lost and confused.

So when writing your character backstory should only be about their life before the Academy while in Rukongai or in the noble block of Seretei. They can be born into the hell of Rukongai or the nobility. So say you have him after somone really significant in history you can add taht into your story. As in like a course in the academy is about History in the human world and that you were namless so people said you were like somone and you got taht name. Whatever I dont care the complexity they just shouldnt know their earth life.

Also as we are "Unseated" we do not know Bankai or of it. Bankai is very rare. It is said by Buyakya that only one shinigami in nearly every decade learns of Bankai and since we are starting out as underlings that arnt even seated we will definatly not know jack diddle about Bankai. Also we will not be the fastest or smartest or best in any area. Yes having a seated position or being amazing at skills is awsome.

The point is that this fic shows progression. Its about the hassels of Seretei and the life of shinigami growing up. Since we only get to see glimpses of how shinigami before they became captains or Vice captains I think showing them as low nothings is interesting. Show them as being weak showing them grow each step of the way. Giving them purpose watching them change and showing their resolve. My previous two fics ahd characters preety set on their goals this one will be more loose and open ended which will make it more unique.

So to those who posted Bakstories of their earth life dont expect them to be used. Also Bankai isnt needed. Because some characters will never reach it, some will. The thing I would Love for you to concntrait on is their personality. Fun facts like loves ice cream of this flavor or hates this thing. I want to know the personality and the way the character acts more than their past.

Also what they want to learn not what they know. This will make it easier to making bio's since these shinigami are mediocre you should state the way your character wanst to progress as in sword skill or shunpo or whatever.

These two things along with the basiscs and a kick ass Zanpakuto with a shikai and a dsicription on appearance is what is needed. Also remember keep the shikai of your zanpakuto simple and not to god like. However the simplicity of a zanpakuto's ability can also make it super powerfull so use your imagination and remember that Shikai can have a max of two kido abilities because three is extreamly rare and only rukia has shown this. Ok hope that helps.

Well, look at that. Done much faster than I thought I'd be. I'll probably add a bit more to his backstory in Rukongai... or whatever.

Anyway, is that alright, Vace? I had it so its seen how Iiso was as a human, as a lost Rukongai soul, and how he was during/after the Academy.

Name- Seito Uzuki

General Appearance- Seito wears an entire black kamino, with a black mask covering his face from his nose all the way down to his neck, he wears dark green shades, he also wears a black leather glove on his right hand

Background- Seito grew up in the poorest part of soul society where violence ran amuk everwhere people stealing things from each other and killing for no reason and because of this he grew up a rough life but all he did was put a smile on his face and just kept living like that until he heard that one of his closest friends tagura was going to applie for the shinigami academy at first he thought that was pure nonsense but his friend convinced him so they both went in toagather and took the exam to get in and surpsingly Seito had passed with high marks which came to a complete surprise to him for he was never very bright

Seito had joined the 9th squadron for no appearnt reason other than not being able to decide he drew straws to see which one he applied for and he got well along well enough with everbody but he perferred not really to do any work so he never got a seat in the squad when he could have easily got third or maybe even vice-captain if he really strove towards it

Personality- Seito has a nice smooting aura about him for he always tries to get along with everbody no matter how cruel they are..but in battle he's like a flipswitch he attacks his opponets with out mercy no matter what or who they are....his nick name given to him by the captian of the 9th squad was the peaceful demon

Zanpakuto- Seito's Zanpakuto is almost twice the lengh of a regular katana and his weapon is also kido based, it is comeplety black with a green dragon wrapped around the entire blade, to activate it he says "kigen ao tenbun" (Rise Green Destiny) his sword erupts in a green flame which greatly increase his attack strengh. He has two forms of this his First is where its in its transformed state but if he hits an opponet with his blade they become engulfed in his green flame which causes minor burns to the target but it decreases their overall speed. His second form is where the flame leaves his blade and he directs it with his hand whenever it comes close or touches a target it instantly sets them ablaze causing horrific burns to their body but this is a purly offensive attack for it leaves him vulenable to attack

Fighting style- Seito mostly attacks with speed and power and he tends to finish off his opponests quickly and not prelong the invetiable

Shinigami uniform: Very big on her almost and she wears a large hat with one wing on the end. Other than looking out of place and awkward the wing doesn’t do anything. Due to her clothes being so large, her zanpakutou is strapped to her back, but inside the clothes.

-Background: Rin woke up after dying near the banks of a river, her face inches away from dropping right back into the water. After getting over the initial shock of being somewhere she couldn’t recognize, Rin went about her business. Days had gone by had found out a little bit about the city from a lady that had been there for some time. The lady had offered Rin a place to stay and Rin accepted, not really knowing where else to go. The lady was housing several others and Rin had found what these people called ‘families’.

During her times with her new family, Rin had done very little to assist and when asked would often trick others into doing her chores by confusing them about the schedules and what chores they had to do. It would take years and an odd development of hunger to get Rin to leave her easy life. Eventually leaving with a merry ‘goodbye, see ya later’, Rin went in search of a place where she could get food and water and figure out why she was so different. Her travels eventually lead her to the better part of Rokangai and eventually to the Shinigami Academy.

During the academy, Rin would try to use her slippery and tricks to get through her classes, but then quickly found out that tricks would only get her so far. After nearly failing her first year, Rin decided to actually do the work herself, which lead her to pass, though barely. Not caring about her score, Rin moved on to her new life as a Shinigami. -Personality: Aloof, witty, and vague. She tends to think outside of the box when talking about things, but also tends to give open-ended answers. Also has the tendency to mumble to herself about senseless and meaningless things, but also has a knack for catching hints and clues.Unreleased: Standard katana usually strapped to her bare back due to her uniform being rather big o her. The hilt is standard, but the handle has the imprint of a snake coiling around it.

Ability: Rime Fangs: This is a continuous ability. Appearance: Rin’s blades are always giving off a cool mist into the air. Effect: Each time Rin hits a target, they feel a cold feeling wash over them and their muscles numb over time.


Bankai: Yuudoku na shimofuri no dokuhebi (Poisonous Frost Covered Vipers) The katars shine brightly, and the visage of two vipers appears around them. The visages are utilizes so that Rin can strike at an extended range and manipulate them to move about the battlefield, but they’re connected to the blades

Bankai Attack: Dokueki no Fubuki (Venom Blizzard): The two visages hover behind Rin, the left spinning clockwise, the right spinning counter-clockwise around one another. They rotate faster, shooting out a dozen large icicles. The area of contact whether person or object, freezes over. The ice turns a yellowish color as it melts, giving off deadly poisonous gas. -Fighting style: Drunken Master kung-fu. Because her zanpakoutou is small, it flows well with this fighting style.

Remember people just a fact about Bankai if you add them to your character. Bankai ARE HUGE!
They totaly change the shape and magnitude of thewielder. Ichigo is only a wierd excepting. Dont make your Bankai simply small and usefull. IT SHOULD BE HUGE. Make it the avitar of your blade or as gigantic expansion of armor or HUGE weapons. Note the enphasis on it need to be LARGE. As Byakuya says, Bankai are larer than conventional weapons, allowing for the user to have a vast expansion in power. However this is a double sided sword for it is said that it takes ten years to master this weapon due to the complexities.

So people with tiny Bankai you need to all edit so its big!

Sealed: His Zanpakutou looks like any other, but the guard has the form of a '+'. It is in a green sheath that hangs on the left side of his body.

Shikai: "Maiagaru, Washi no Kūchū."
The Zapakutou will shine white and big white feathers form on the side of the blade that's not edged, giving it a wing-like appearance. When the sword is swung, the air around it is shot at the target at high speed, causing the target to be cut.

-shikai:the hilt-gaurd turns to folded-upward wings, A short chain with a greyish-blue feather appears at the end of the hilt( sort of like a key chain) and the blade starts to glow ever so faintly.

-powers: 1) A slash that creates a wave of angel feathers that fly at the enemy. ( similar to byakuyas shikai except once the're fired, Saiori can't control them.)
2) can create a feather clone. ( not to help him fight just a knock-off of the substitution justu from naruto)
