Plot Summary: In the romantic comedy story, a high school girl named Kotoko finally tells a fellow senior named Naoki that she has loved him from afar since she saw him on their first day of high school. However, Naoki, a haughty "super-ikemen" (handsome male) with smarts and sports talent, rejects her offhand. Fate intervenes when a mild earthquake ruins Kotoko's family house. While the house gets rebuilt, Kotoko and her dad stay at the home of her dad's childhood friend...whose son is Naoki.

3rd year high school girl AIHARA Kotoko has been in love with a guy at her school named IRIE Naoki since their first year. However, there are things that prevented Kotoko from confessing her love for him, first and foremost being that he is a member of ‘A-class’ or the top ranking class in the school. Naoki is incredibly smart, always getting the top score in the school on all the exams. Naoki is also really popular and handsome and has been the class president every year. That’s a pretty intimidating list of things for a girl to face! Poor Kotoko is in 'F-class', the lowest class in the school with the poorest grades. He is so far above her level!

But Kotoko finally gathers up her courage, and on her 18th birthday, she decides to give Naoki a love letter and tell him she loves him. Unfortunately, things do not go as planned. She presents her letter, but instead of accepting it and returning her feelings, Naoki just gives Kotoko a look of disgust and boredom, and tells her flat out right there that he doesn’t want her letter, and he doesn’t like ’stupid girls’.

Poor Kotoko. Now it’s time for things to get even worse. Walking home from school, Kotoko discovers her house has collapsed! Now Kotoko and her father are left homeless! All they can do is stay at the sushi-shop her father owns and runs. This doesn’t last for long. Soon they go to live at the house of one of her father’s highschool friends. The friend happens to be none other than IRIE Naoki’s father. And this means that Kotoko is now living with the guy she likes! She is overjoyed at this news, but her reception from Naoki is very cold. She is also greeted with hostility by Naoki’s younger brother Yuuki, who is being forced to give up his bedroom to Kotoko.

This is the basic setup for the series, but it really goes a long way from this as Kotoko and Naoki deal with each other. Naoki is extremely smart- he has never had to study for anything ever before, while Kotoko must struggle to understand what seems to Naoki to be the easiest things. However Kotoko works hard at everything she does, and actually has a lot of things to teach Naoki, who is such a ice-cold aloof guy. His feelings always seem so hidden, while Kotoko is an open book.

I've been reading the manga, and I like the manga better, but the anime isn't BAD. I'm hoping they extend the amount of episodes, though...

I just think the characters are better portrayed in the manga, but I'm still religiously watching the anime :3

The manga is almost always better. Anime cut things out and drag others on too long. I feel as though love stories like this are best read in a manga. I know its a shounen, but Ichigo 100% was an absolutely amazing romance manga, but when converted to anime was subpar at best. As I was reading this, I already knew that there would be no way that it would ever be possible to make this work in anime form. A little OT, but worth mentioning imo.

I needs episode 3, this is probably one of the better romance anime of the season.

Imo the Taiwanese drama was a better adaptation, but I'll reserve judgment for now. The anime is still pretty cute though, I'll continue watching this until I tire of it :P

Well, that's the English title for the drama, I think 'Mischievous Kiss' is a more accurate translation of the Japanese title like stated in the first post xD It was so cute how Naoki's name in Chinese characters in the anime was exactly the same as in the Taiwan drama though <3

Episode 3 was good. For some reason, this anime is really grabbing my attention and reeling me in, when in reality there is nothing about it more than average. Its your standard love story with your standard animation, slightly outdated drawing style, etc.

I watched the first 3 eps and I agree with u guys. The animation is not that great (most of the people who aren't main characters or aren't related to the main characters have little to no facial features) and the animation or drawing style is not that great either.

But theres something that makes me keep watching. Don't know whether I'll drop this or not. I might keep watching it but probably just watch it online/stream.

Character interaction is what drives these anime, but the special ones will have something else to offer. The first few episodes were good, but I didnt really have much time to continue. Just wondering if I should consider. Like, is it as good as Full Moon, or is it just another average anime?

Tbh, I have no idea but as far as I know the anime's supposed to be a walk through of Kotoko's life from the start till end. And I guess it's not too hard to notice passed time >.>
