Kimihiro Watanuki is a high school student plagued by yōkai, supernatural beings magically attracted to him. The creatures are invisible to others, and as a result he feels extremely burdened by them. When he quite literally stumbles into a shop that grants wishes, his life changes drastically.

The shop is owned by Yūko Ichihara, a mysterious, beautiful witch of many names and esoteric renown. The seemingly all-knowing witch offers to grant Watanuki's wish to be rid of his ability to see spirits. However, in exchange, he must pay a price equal to the power required to grant the wish. Yūko discovers that Watanuki is very skilled with his hands and a hard worker. As a result, Watanuki is forced to perform housework and odd jobs for Yūko until he has done enough work for his wish to be granted.

Shortly afterwards, other characters become involved with Watanuki's position, including his love interest, Himawari Kunogi, and his "rival," Shizuka Dōmeki. The three become increasingly "friendly," despite the number of times Watanuki becomes annoyed by Dōmeki's calm demeanor.

I love this anime, I cant wait to watch this one! I wonder how this will compare to the first season, I loved the episodic quirkiness of this show. The snowball fight episode was definitely the best one. I have never seen a funnier episode of anime n my life.

After seeing the entire first season, I see barely anything that continued on in the later episodes. Except for mabe Watanuki's relationship with the water sprite, but that is just a minor relationship.

I would just watch the first season at your own pace and then watch this. The first season was great, and you will miss episode 19 which is a classic imo. Whats the hurry, you have plenty of time to finish up the first season and be in queue with the second. Its not going anywhere :)

Those little guys that are concerned about the Vestal sprite? Yea, they were from the first season and they always used to blame Watanuki for everytime the Vestal sprite cried and such.

Im surprised that they are doing a 2+ episode long arc. They never did that in the first season, and this one seems to be really interesting. I wonder where they are going, and if it has anything to do with Watanuki's eye problem or not.

Well, the Vestal sprite doesnt have anything to do with a spider's revenge, but we will see how it ties in.

My interpretation of the cat girl is that the spirit world is fighting for his eye, which would tie in with the Vestal sprite since she's raburabu with watanuki :P

Its not totally invalid, but I think that you are assuming a little much. It may or may not have to do with his eye at this point. You may be right, but I dont think we can assume a corellation yet.

^^ I highly suggest watching the first season beforehand. At this point, more than half of the enjoyment/suspense of the 2nd season is based on characters from the 1st. Whats all the rush about for this anime? Just watch the awesome first season first and then move on like any other anime.

Thats the thing about this anime, I wouldnt say there are any outstanding episodes (well, the snowball fight one was, I think ep 19), but it just has that atmosphere and mystery about it that makes it so much fun to watch.

No in some traditions a boy is raised as a girl until i think the age of 12.. he's taught how to cook, clean, etc.. then after his 12th or 14th, i'm not sure, birthday he's raised as a man.

Thats what I hate about fansubbing and scanlating. The guys who do it are such arrogant pricks who think you should bow down and kiss their ass with no questions asked. They totally flip whenever you ask the slightest question about releases. Its not like it would kill them to be nicer. I do appreciate the service them provide, but its not even the point anymore. I'm so glad things are better with Kohane now. The beginning of the episode was so sad ;-;. It seems like they rushed it a bit though. I heard it was different in the manga. And she's soo cute with short hair <3 I think it looks better on her. I can't wait to see the next episode! It looks like it will be a good one

I highly doubt it... the manga seems to be coming to and end just like Tsubasa Chronicles, and both mangas are in a point where everything is related to eacth other, since they dont show any of TC in holic, i guess this is the end for the anime.

Besides, the whole Konahe chan stuff in the manga just finished like a month ago.... and the ending was quite similar

it was Yuuko-san the one who granted her wish to let her mother be happy, and she took away as a price kohane´s spiritual powers, and resulted that her powers came from a Sakura Feather that entered Kohane´s body long time ago (ko-HANE, HANE=FEATHER, its was a cheap name :sad)

See, this is why I like to watch older series that have already been fully aired and subbed. That way you can get the quality subbing groups, too. Or even rent the actual DVDs if it was licensed and released already.

I prefer watching anime that have already been finished too. But I thought xxxholic was popular enough to be subbed fast so I decided to watch it and it did get subbed quickly at first. But when the anime was finally getting really good, they stopped subbing it.
