Power limiter thingy???

I was curious about what shinigami use to limit the reitsu of VC and higher ranked when they go to earth. Do you think it is a kidoh or an artifact. Because it is possible that Urahara condicted studies on this to create the hongoku. And id it is a kidoh then it must be a very, very high leveled one.

If you think about it it could be what urahara used to create the hongoku. Since it can render a shinigami useless. thoughts?

well i think that they just limit it to themselves... i mean they sure do know how to limit their own power... they just don't use it to the fullest

Yea I was never under the impression that it was a "device", merely the shinigamis willingly surpressing it because they dont want to disturb the souls of bystanders. If there was a device doing it and they ran into a really strong opponent then they might die, where as if they are surpressing themselves they can always say "**** it" and go all super saiyan to save the day.

I think that they are made to be supressed. Otherwise, Renji would have killed Ichigo easily during their fight.

Thats not a very good example, because Renji not only underestimated Ichigo but for all intents and purposes WON the fight. Ichigo got shounen "burning passion" powerup to suddenly and QUICKLY overpower Renji.

Before Renji could recover and retaliate, Byakuya swooped in and took out Ichigo. In that situation, there was no reason for Renji to release his power. He had backup, and was overconfident.

A kid playing at being a shinigami is a little different than a bunch of broken mask badasses looking to kick everyones ass.

Well it's simply just a law - Use too much spirit force so you affect the real world too much and you broke the law. We all saw how high they take laws (Rukia that almost got killed because she broke a law) so I dont think they have a limit and they can't go higher than that.. I just think it's a law they simply follow

I dun think they are limited on their powers on earth, more like they are not allowed to do so. The shinigamis always believe in the 'balance' of the world and 'obeying the Laws'. So they are probably forced by either of those 2 reasons.

they limit the power on earth so they dont pass it on to other humans like ichigo was doing, orihime and chad got their powers from him, thats the reason the powers are limited.

I think there is a place that can set the limit for powers, the last manga chapter, 204 i htink, yumika is on his spirit phone and tells them to raise the maximum level they are allowed to release their reiatsu to, meaning somewhere in soul society is something that is able to limit shinigami's power. This includes ichigo as yumika also mentioned him...

ummm... GC... I'm not sure but I think Yumichika was talking about some kind of Spatial Barrier and not the actual reiatsu level... he said something about meters ...unless I'm mistaken....

he also called it spatial freezing, if I'm not mistaken, a couple of frames later, I think it might be some kind of healing thing.

i disagree with that being him talking about releasing some sort of power limiters. what hes talking about is dealing with a spatial freezing of a certain amount of meters around each of the people he mentioned. i think its sort of like either putting up an illusion so people dont see all the destruction going on, or making a barrier to prevent their reiatsu from leaking out and around the area or something of that sort
