...but I don't know where to start! XD I've got about seven or eight great storylines popping into my head at times, everything from romance fiction to an autobiography series (it couldn't be just one book! XD), from sci-fi to a schoolbook for beginning programming, aimed at ages 8-10.

To tell the truth, I would absolutely LOVE to be a traveling novelist... I could live my dream of traveling the world, I could do the one thing I love to do above all other things--write, and with experiencing the world I know I could write better, maybe even in multiple languages! Finally, I'd be able to meet you all... Due to my rather... unusual upbringing (i.e., travelling so much), the friends I've made on the Internet have been more permanent than those I meet in person. As it was true in the eighties and nineties, so is it today with me as an adult, still traveling too much. XD In most senses, you all are the truest friends I will ever have. Odd, for someone who calls other people Emo for saying the same thing. ;)

if you have that many ideas at once, that is surely a blessing. i myself have tried to manage all my plots, but sometimes you just have to write them all down before you forget. It is a good thing that you desire to write non-fiction as well as fiction, as well.

Becoming a world traveller would be quite interesting. you could also get many more plots this way in terms of cultural context.

Well, we are surely living in a society where people may interact online and develop strong relationships. this is just the way things are developing today. still, it would be much better if people could meet each other face to face. And FYI, I would also want to write a book. ^-^ {obviously not fanfiction}

Shouldn't this go in the literature section as opposed to the OS section?

I actually was writing a book. I had 4 chapters and approx 200 pages when my exroommate's ***** of a g/f deleted all my files off the house computer on purpose. There are parts of the book I can't rewrite cuz I made them up at those moments. Plus I had friends helping me with names and backgrounds and such.

I aimed to get it published, or at least looked at, by the publishers of the "Shinara" series. Such as "The First King of Shinara" and when I did that I would have loved to get it published. I had even set up a time to send in the first part as a trial reading to see if they might have been interested. When I found that out, I was more excited than almost anything thus for... If you decide to do this, it takes hard work, dedication and usually rejection, but in the end, it's worth it...

As you probably know, I'm the author of Celsius, a hardly received story of mine. While that idea was my most established, I might work on something else for now. No one seemed to know that I needed their reception/critisism to grow in my skills as a writer.

To write Celsius, I gathered my own ideas and inspiration from anime/games to build the universe and characters. When I plan a chapter, I've already planned several chapters ahead and or created alternate versions of single ones.

As long as your writing a novel(s), try sticking to one idea until you finish it or need some time for it to marinate in your head. Look over the works of others, and try to learn from them, while creating your own inspired work or experimenting with other writing styles. It's always fun to have multiple ideas to choose from, but stay dedicated to whatever you decide to write and try to have fun with it.

Probably literature.
But, I think most people that go around this Writing and Lit sections would want to be some form of mid-to-high level successful writer of sorts.

We can either give up on that dream.
We can either fail on that dream.
Or we can keep on truckin'.

Sar, keep on truckin'.

For sure.

Simple answer. Whatever makes you the most passionate.

If you've done your research on your fictional ideas (if it needs any) and it's bursting to get out, and you've done all your plot and character management then write it. That's what I did.

Otherwise just wing it and see where it takes you. I also do this..

I could do the one thing I love to do above all other things--write
Aye. This should be framed for us writers.

Personally I suggest that you never go near trying to write for the younger audience you could seriously mentally scar some kids with whats in your mind.

Write for teenage years they'll probably get your more. And Try writing the plots for a good comic book..:p..Get an artist to the drawing and all you have to come up with is the plot and story.

I would just start by thinking up the characters and "universe" before anything else. Once you get that out of the way, come up with a beginning and an ending. Have the end of the story already mapped out and decided, so that way you can work towards it in whatever manner you want. This is all of course after you decide on a genre.

I have the same problem, I always have too many ideas at once and therefore can't decide on something! All I can suggesen move ontot is, choose any single idea, and write that story, the next one XD

If you do it while travelling try writing it on toilet paper like Jack Keruac.

Of course, that dude was mostly under the influence while he wrote On The Road, so you never know what might happen.

try writing 7 or 8 stories at once then see where it goes from there
