I've read all of them and now I'm reading the first book in "Transitions". I tried to hold off longer but I can't haha. superb series. Some say it's all predictable, but I don't think it's all extremely predictable. I love Zaknafein, and my favorite book is probably Exile or Sojourn.

awesome man yeah i finished that series im dieing waiting for the next book in transitions, favourite character Bruenor. cause hes a dwarf! my favourite books were in the Hunters Blades Trilogy.. *sigh* maybe the first 3 books should be made into a movie.. that would be totally awesome.. Streams of Silver was another of my favourites

Yea, Bruenor is the man, but idk...Zak is just so awesome haha. Yes, the Hunters Blade Trilogy is amazing also, but I just love the Underdark too much haha.
R.A. Salvatore wants to make them into a movie, but still like the book (nothin left out), so I guess it's kind of hard (he wants to help with it also). After Transitions he (Mr. Salvatore) said he's gonna write a trilogy (or series) about Zaknafein and Jarlaxle!! I can't wait for those books!! It'll be a long time ago and tell how Jarlaxle made his mercenary band and how Zak got so amazing at fighting!!

OH MY HELL ZAK JAR TRILL! thats forking amazing!
i do like Zak but since he was "removed" i lost interest in him
yeah i heard about that movie like 10 min after i made my post wow Zak and Jar thats gunna be sweeet

Yea. Haha, Zak being "removed" only sparked my interest in him more and more.
I learned all of that when I met him at a book signing. It was actually really cool because he's not big were I live and only about 20 people were there, so we got to talk to him individually after he just talked about his works, Forgotten Realms, and what he's doing.
I asked if he was going to write more on Zak and he was like "YES!!! I'm glad someone asked that!! <starts talking about it>". Really cool guy, and an amazing author!!!

I've read all the books 'till Hunters Trilogy , Two Blades.
I reccomend you guys read "The Clerics Quintet" , it's 5 books about Cadderly Bonaduce chosen of Deneir. He has been referenced in Drizzt's books as well.

I've read only the second book from the "Spider Queen"... Not that good , imho. Well , if you like Underdark and Drow it might be just what you need.

Haven't read any yet though, apparently only a few of them are any good...

lol, its quite interesting if u read from the first book. Its about how Lolth obtained Greater Divinity and how she morphed herself. :D

Well, "The War of the Spider Queen" is how Lolth needs a new sacrifice so often to be reborn. I read the whole series and it was amazing. The ending was awesome, but could of been....better (I won't say why, spoilers haha). But then again I love the Underdark and Drow more than any other race/place in FR, or pretty much any other fantasy setting, so that's probably why I loved it so much.
@ Vampyre Lord - Who said only a few of them are any good?? They are very good if you like adventure/action/excellent plot development. While sometimes predictable, it's because well....you know he's not going to kill his main character, so after writing about one character for 20+ years (and that many books), you KNOW Drizzt in a way, and what he'll do. In my odd form of logic that makes sense to me....
Cleric Quintet is fantastic, I have the huge collectors edition one.
Salvatore makes appearances in Canada, I was surprised he came down South to where I am. He's not too big down here, so that's why not too many people where there. While he was signing the covers to a few of my books (which are now framed and on my wall haha) I was talking about games (and Drizzt haha), and he said that (since he started his own game studio now) he wants to make a game specifically on Drizzt, and then if they get big move onto stuff like WoW (he is an on/off avid WoW player he says haha), but that's way far off and not worth talking about hahahaha.

yep the series is amazing :D
too bad everyone in the party had to die besides Quenthel and Valas, and Pharaun is my favourite character D:
u should read the Lady Petinent Series, it is about Halisstra after she became teh Lady Petinent and when she returned to the Prime Material Plane, and about how her brother came looking for her on the surface xD

Yea, he's my favorite character also (in your spoiler). I'm going to buy those once all 3 are out probably, but my book list for my next trip to the bookstore is already at 40-odd books....I can't add anymore, and I'm not even going to be able to buy all 40 of those books anyways haha.

I am also busy with the Legend of Drizzt at the moment! I really had no idea it was this popular. I must say that i am very much enjoying it. They are the type of books you must rip yourself away from. I am only at the 3rd book now yet I would love to read the all.
Another author I love with a similar style is Trudi Canavan from The Dark Magician trilogy fame. I would highly recommend giving it a read.
Anyway, got to go read some more now! :Haha

Finished The Orc King. It was really really good. I like how the whole thing was a flashback kind of thing. Hmmm, I wonder how the rest of the short lived folk have faired?

Agreed! I prefer them too. I find them to be much more durable than the paperback = more value for money.

Did you read The War of the Spider Queen series? They're really good and all sort of "directed" by Salvatore. Also, after Transitions there's (suppose) to be a trilogy that'll take place in Menzoberranzan with Jarlaxle and Zak, but I think I already said that here....

yep, i read the War of the Spider Queen series :D
i think i read almost all the books that took place in Menzoberranzan, except Gromph's daughter... the Lirel (spelling?) Baenre or something?
granamonkey
06-02-2008, 07:21 PM
Lirael Baenre methinks. And not all of them take place in Menzo. She leaves in the first book and is in Rashemen I believe. I need to finish that trilogy haha.

Really dig the legend of drizzt, the battle sequences are the best I've ever read. Salvatore is so excellent. My favorite charachter is Artemis, I was kind of upset the way he died though...just made the halfing annoy me that much more...

06-06-2008, 10:34 PM
*psst*...have you read all of his books (R.A. Salvatore's) that take place in Forgotten Realms?
~*StÓÑy RèL0ÂÐeD™
06-07-2008, 04:11 AM
LOL, ive read all of them... save the latest one (the orc king). I read the Orc King halfway only. :D
Artemis didnt die, btw. Wont say anything much coz it will be spoilers

06-08-2008, 03:08 AM
That's what I was getting at Stony haha, didn't want to spoil THAT for him either if he didn't know!!! Anyways, FINISH THE ORC KING!!!!! It really is a good novel. Not Salvatore's best, but I like where it is going and how it's rather controversial (in a completely Faerunian way lol. Orcs establishing a Kingdom in the modern day).
