Don't bother. The anime is basically frame for frame from the manga. If you are happy with knowing what happens at the pace you are on currently, then just stick with it.
I prefer the manga to the anime, mostly because I like what drawings can do over animation, but the anime is just fine.
Stick with it if you aren't exactly dying to know what happens. Just know that if you read the manga you will be spoilered on A LOT of huge things that will happen.
hmmm...
it is a tough decision to make... plus once you actually do start reading the manga you will feel compelled to get ahead of the anime...
There are ...very slight differences between anime and manga... but in respect to plot you are really not missing out on anything so far... I would say only read it if you just feel like trying to look at all the angles more closely... plus be careful of the fact that you will want to read ahead...it happens... it's not that horrible for me.... but I'm not sure how you would take it so I felt it only right to warn you...

As mentioned above you're not missing anything so don't worry... But if you want to see future events sooner then read the manga, otherwise don't bother...

well, some VERY MINOR bits were left out, or swapped somewhat, especially the bits regarding shiba kaien. reading the manga is fun. i'd recommend it. you can stop anytime you feel "alright, that's as far as i'm gonna go". you don't have to read ahead if you don't want to. ^o^

You are only missing some mnor bits and pices when it comes to information.
But i think it is worth to read since it gives a bit more depth to some parts.

I agreen the main plot is exactely the same, but some minor details are left out in the anime. If you really like bleach it might be fun to read the manga's :)

I Say Read The Manga Cause I Feel That The Anime Is In Such A Rush As Many Details Are Missing Such As In Episode 59 When Kuchiki Lost, He Was Suppose To Make A Comparision On Ichigo And Kaien On Their Liberateness...

Animes are better, bleach becomes alive then.
I Say Read The Manga Cause I Feel That The Anime Is In Such A Rush As Many Details Are Missing
I read the other posts and people are mainly saying that there is ony very minor and unimportant bits filtered out, when I actually agree with this section of Unrefined Nemesis' post.
I think there is a lot of detail that was overlooked, that in the sense of how the anime has been since day dot, makes no difference on the way the anime unravels, but in comparisson to the way the story itself unfolds, the manga delves into finer details, some of which will have relevance and impounding difference to how you look at certain (and as has been said a few things - I wouldn't go as far as to say minor differences though) things in respect to the anime.
The details left out, are vital to underlying issues, but are not all major and yes there aren't many, but to say it's not worth reading, I disagree personally.
I would recomend if you want to maintain your interest at it's peak, to only stick to the episodes covered by the anime to current date.

I think a lot of the manga drawings are way better than the anime drawings. For example look at this image from episode 20 and then look at its corresponding image in chapter 67 of the Manga. I think the manga image is WAY cooler than the anime image. That's one of the reasons I read the manga, the drawings are just so darn cool!! :)

yay! im going to read the manga for all of the small details and finely defined artwork... then it won't be so unbearable waiting for the next episode, but i will have to practise major restraint and not read ahead. i like not knowing what is going to happen, it gives me something to look forward to.
THANKS ^_^

A lot of lazy folks don't like to read the manga but I actually prefers re-reading all the manga and watch.
You see, the attraction to reading the manga is not just the details but a lot of cool and funny skits and artist inserted details. I laugh more when I read the manga than watch the anime.
The artwork in mangas communicates better than the anime. You can see some very intense artwork when the fight is incredible or some really funny and cute art.
Visually, the manga drawings are more consistent than the anime..
Yea, lots of ppl are lazy to click n click to read a manga...they prefer watching it as an Anime instead.

Man, my advice is to start reading the manga:
- The art is way WAY better
- In animated version of the first part (when they are in karakura) a lot of things were changed for the worst
- All of Kaien story was left out (don't you know who Kaien is? you should by now)
- Kubo Tite (the author from the manga) likes to give a lot of hints to further things to come wich the anime left out. and is very pleasant when he throw things that were planned before and you were hinted about.
- The author has put a lot of effort in the planning of this manga, the art is superb (again), the title pages of the manga chapter are the best on any shonnen manga, and above that you can find colored title pages with the character wearing modern clothes.
- And the best of all reasons: the manga is the way Bleach is supposed to be (Bleach was first manga then they made anime of it). It's like when you read Lord of the Rings and then watched the movie, you know the movie is great, but the book is even better.
yeah, or read harry potter then watch the movie. original is the best... my advice is to stick with both

i read the first episode manga and i am pretty excited about it. there are many subtle differences that i have noticed already in the dialogue and the graphics. i don't recall actually seeing blood dripping down the face of the ghost and it seems that she is just devoured, which i dont remember happening in the animation. a bit more raw eh...
i definately appreciate being able to examine the pictures more, though i miss the sounds and colors, it is another way to experience bleach altogether - yay.

It's not really more graphic, in my opinion at least, than the Anime. The first episode is more graphic and there's one other chapter that's a little more graphic. Other than that, it's pretty much like the Anime in terms of violence. There is a lot more detail and sidenotes and so forth. And of course the already mentioned artwork. :)
Welcome to the Manga though!

Just think of the manga as Kubo's first soundboard without anyone changing it to make more TV-sensitive....

I personally enjoy the manga much better. The manga is just closer to how the author has intended it. The ony reason I would turn to anime is if there is a battle, which tends to be more exciting when viewed animated.
It's like a novel and its movie adaptation, people would usually recommend you to read before you watch, so you can get the story like the author intended you to, without any bias from viewing the movie first.
But the Bleach anime has been quite faithful to the manga, so it shouldn't be too much of a problem here.

funny thing is sometimes i get confused and forget how exactly far the series is compared to the manga and have to go back to make sure to avoid accidentally spoiling stuff for people
