Come close you creatures of the duskly-hours!
Come out, come out wherever you are...
Any fans of Ann Rice nearby?
This brilliant author has given the literary world much in the line of "cult, doom and gloom" classics. With some of her tales like "Interview with a Vampire" and "Queen of the Dammed" already blockbuster films, this series is well worth the read of the avid "vampire" book collector.
I, myself, own and love all of the books in the series of the vampire chronicles.
Please feel free to share your opinions and even your favorite characters, regarding the series.

Hey, who doesn't love vampires and their inner turmoils?
Anne Rice did a marvelous job with her books, imo. And I really enjoy the way she portrays her characters' thoughts and feelings. I'm currently in the process of reading The Queen of the Damned, though it's somewhat on hiatus right now.

Haha I approve too, there seems to be a few of us on the "recommended books" thread. I own all of them except I think Merrick and Violin.

In regards to "The Queen of the Damned" believe me when I say that the book is well worth finishing. Though the movie was well-done in most respects (for example the awesome soundtrack; updating the story to the 2000's - as appose to the 80's in the book - and making it more accessible for "today's audience and a younger generation of fans) I still feel the book is better.
Domo arigato Kaze - sama for your approval.
To Reyin:
I wholeheartedly agree with your opinion. I also feel that the literature section can do with some much needed expansion. Well, even though we might be view in number now, our actions and passion for the written word will improve the state of things in no time at all!

Eh I thought the movie was alright, but I definitely didn't like how they haphazardly crammed two books together. The soundtrack was a highlight though. Even so, between it and the movie they made from Interview With a Vampire, there are a lot of fans of the books series that had previously not known about this great series. I do think some of the more stand-alone books like Vittoro The Vampire would make good movies though. The problem with Queen of the Damed is you need some background information.

I agree, totally. I would love to see more movie adaptations in the future. Especially of books like "Pandora". Actually, any book that focuses on the character of "Marius". I find him so very fascinating.
Just as long as the movie adaptation stays as true to the original text as possible. For example, even though Antonio Banderas did play a wonderful portrait of the character "Armand"; that does not forgive the fact that Ann Rice created Armand to be a 16 year old boy! Anyway, I should not get to distraught about minor details. I guess if movies are made that promote the books - regardless of its total integrity - I should be happy.
