I know about Anime North in TO. I just can't go (even though I wanted to) because I don't have time and money. I really want to see the convention myself. Although in Montreal, I go to Anime Screenings to watch the latest animes available.

Well, I'm going to the anime expo in downtown LA this year... it's in July, on Independence Day. It's gonna be my first time, and I'm going with my cousin and friends.

I've been to two and am going to another in September (a day after my bday to be exact) In the past I've cosplayed at the conventions as Itachi Uchiha from Naruto. As for the one in Sept I'm intending to go as the former 5th division captain, Sousuke Aizen from Bleach.

Depending on the size of the convention, there are allllllll sorts of things to go to a convention for. Besides meeting like-minded people in the area, of course!

Almost always there will be some sort of cosplay contest, where people show off their sewing and design skills. There will be a dealers room where you can purchase everything from dvds to wall scrolls to plushies and figurines to keychains. An artist ally, game room where you can play import games, panels where you can listen to industry guests and get autographs, fan panels where you can talk to people about your favorite shows or learn how to make wepons, showings rooms where you can see the newest animes, anime themed gameshows and contests, latenight dances and raves, and so much more! Most of it is being able to hang out with people who are also interested in anime.

Almost 95% positive they would. It really depends on the dealers there. And the average three day convention will have a moderatly sized dealers room with an array of stores having a presence. There are a few one day conventions that are really more like festivals on college campuses, for example, that may have a dealers room of only three or four stores.

Actually, i just went to one this Friday. o.o
It was small but nice <3 apparently it was supposed to be something big with people all over mexico and other southern countries but it was kind of empty ._.;

they were a lot of cosplayers :3 (and 2 famous japanese cosplayers went too, one was orihime and other one hughes from FMA. they were identical; and im not exagerating. xD the hughes guy was freaking sexy ;_;<3)

it was pretty fun :3

Stormsfury, if you live in Missouri, there is Anime St Louis which was just a month or two ago, and Naka Kon in Kansas City (which of course I am partial to) in February. :D
