I think it depends on what Gaara you're talking about, we've yet to see the extent of his abilities after Shukaku was extracted from him so I'll just assume you mean before that happened. Even though either one would win regardless.

With his abilities it makes it an easy fight in Gaara's favor, how is Haku supposed to penetrate Gaara's defense with needles? When Haku uses his mirrors, Gaara could probably just cover them with sand or come up with a way to catch him like that. All the while kept protected by his various sand defenses.

And if worse came to worse, which I highly doubt, he could just use Shukaku to completely wipe Haku from the face of the earth..

Gaara should win the fight relatively unscathed.

now everyone seems to forget haku also uses water and as we all know the sand would turn into mud making it useless to garra (as seen in the final arc) and i doubt all haku can do is make those mirrors

Actually, the anime isn't canon, so that's obsolete. Also, Earth>Water in the Naruto elemental hierarchy of power. Gaara would crush the ice mirrors with a blanket of sand which would either crush Haku or just cause him to fall out of the mirrors.

Either way, Gaara wins.

Gaara's sand shield alone is enough to make Haku's ice mirror technique useless. On top of that, Gaara can probably produce more much force with his sand than Naruto can with 1 semi-Kyuubi charged punch. Haku got beat by two genin... Gaara is at least Jounin level.

Shippuden Gaara would DESTROY Haku. He summoned enough sand to cover AN ENTIRE VILLAGE IN A SPLIT SECOND.

Old Gaara would...DESTROY Haku. Even IF Gaara started losing, all he has to do is turn into Shuukaku and it's pretty much over. Ofcourse, the Gaara that faced Kimimaru laughs at Haku.

@sp night: Even if Haku wanted to kill them, the only thing he could've done is aim for vital spots instead of arms and legs... which would still be useless against a 360 degree sand shield/sand armor. Even then, he'd run out of chakra after like, 10 minutes.

No kage in Naruto world will ever be beaten by someone who lost to two inexperienced genin. Gaara could easily smash apart Haku's ice mirrors without needing to move. I honestly think you are arguing just to argue, considering your 1-line posts.
