Charles Lindbergh has recently landed in Paris. The streets are raving, parties abounding, and the stars seem to be looking on these people with favor. Even the Earl, who financed the Orteig Prize of $25,000, is enjoying himself with the upper class men and women of the town. While some are concerned with the Spirit of St. Louis, others seem more interested in the spirits of Paris.

Taking a break from their most recent assignment, Shinju and Serenade stopped by Paris just as the parties were starting.

Parting midway, they both planned to reunite with one another at the northernmost edge of the city by midnight so that they could continue on with their current investigation that was “of utmost importance,” or so said their employers.

Shinju’s first and foremost plans were to go to the highest place in Paris, which would have to be the Eiffel Tower.

Going as far up and as far out as she could on the Eiffel Tower without getting into trouble with the security, she leaned with her back against the metal fencing, just beside one of those telescopes that you had to pay to see through. Her white kosode, kimono, and hakama practically glowed with her snowy hair.

It was only around nine o’ clock, but from where she could see the booze was already flying around in the streets of Paris.

She fingered her ocean-blue sash and sighed in dissatisfaction; her breath lingering with the wind before it was carried far, far away.

“What fools these mortals may be…”

Serenade spent much of his day wandering around from bar to restaurant to bar again.
His “inhuman” metabolism didn’t allow him to get drunk, so he was free to drink as much as he wanted to whereas the people around him collapsed or ran to the bathrooms.

All around him multiple fights had already broken out between the drunkards.
The ones who aimed to pick on him immediately regretted their decision as they landed on the opposite side of the room with a broken nose and a fractured limb or two.

To them he chuckled silently.

Walking out of the fifth bar that night and down the street, he noticed two small pendants sitting right in the display window of a small jewelry shop that he passed by.
Approaching the store to take a closer look, Serenade saw that it was one of those Ying Yang themed pendants. Ironically, it consisted of a black dragon and a white dragon.

Moments later he walked out of the store with a little red case decorated with a golden ribbon.

Promptly pocketing the case, he grinned mischievously to himself and continued down the street.
