It seems that Lelouch wont' be fighting his "best friend" again in several episodes to come. (Good, its about time, they start some totally new plot instead of repeating season one)

Ending was anti-climatic. They had won the battle, so Zero appearing wasn't needed except for his surrender. I don't think he really intends to join the SAZ at all.

It was an okay episode, more slow plot development than anything. But that's okay, they can't all be action packed. It would just get boring if it was nothing more than a mecha action series.

Anyone having a clue as to why C.C talks to Lelouch's mother , Marriane? She has done so before , in season 1. Could it be , that she is related to Lelouch..?

If V.V is the Emperor's brother , assuming she is V.V's 'sister' she might as well had a connection/relationship with Marriane similar to V.V's with Emperor. Thus , when Marrianne died C.C had to protect/help Lelouch.

I didn't think they were fake. I think she was upset to see Zero going down the same path as her mother. Then Lelouch messed up all that sympathy by coming onto her (like a Japanese Comfort Girl, to draw the historical/political allusion for this episode :face82:).

Me too. The battle sequence seemed tacked-on in this episode.

They talk about this connection on the Code Geass wikipedia articles more I believe. I seem to remember that C.C. is able to talk to Marianne's spirit, possibly being partially possessed by it or something like that.

This episode was (like you guys have said) odd and out of place. Lelouch went emo randomly because Nunally is his enemy and first him trying to kiss Karen and then Rolo almost kissing Lelouch... That was weird... Although the ending had the normal Code Geass feeling.


As for C.C's connection to Marrianne, if there was a connection it would explain why C.C. wants Lelouch to live so badly.

I wouldn't say this episode was terrible, but yes, I do think it's the worst episode in this series so far. I really don't like it when we need a whole episode dedicated to cheer up the hero just because he went emo when his plans backfired.

It was pretty much how I anticipated it in ep 6 thread, except Kallen left early and didn't get to witness their beautiful display of brotherly love.
