How old is Yachiru?

I got this idea when I read someone's post saying Yachiru's "only a child". She sure acts like one. But Shinigami don't age fast. She was a baby when Kenpachi found her, so his length of time as a captain might give clues. Any ideas, anyone?

Well, its only a speculation so don't take it as her real age... But I think she's about 20 ~ 30 years old... I don't think she can exceed that age because think of how old is Rukia and compare her to Yachiru (I think I read somewhere that Rukia is a 113 years old...Can't remember where, when and if this information is correct or not)

Yachiru appears to be about 7 years old, while Rukia appears to be about 15 years old... so if we assume Rukia is 150 years old.... I'll bet Yachiru is about 70 years old.... just speculation..

that makes a lot of sense if you consider just them but what about when you consider the other characters like yama he looks like 80 so hed be like 800 which doesnt work. she has to be pretty young to act the age she does so maybe fifty?

I do't know, but she's not very old, but is still older than she looks. The other thing is I think Yachiru, is just freakishly short and childish anyway. I would say about 30- 50 though.

I think 60-70 would be good.
But i dont think that we can correctly change normal age into souls age.
Like Yama-jii hes older than 2000 years, but he doesnt looklike a 200 year old. But Rukia looks like a 15-17 year old, and 150-170 year would fit her.
I dont think that souls there age like this. Than even Yachiru wouldnt act like a 7 year old when she lived 70 years. ( wel maybe she would, because shes not really normal, but i doubt that Rukia with 150 years of experience of "living" behind her would be this childish)

didn't someone. i think Yoruichi said it takes 1000+ years to achieve bankai or something? or am i severly mistaken? and didnt Renji say to Ichigo in the "real" world when Renji + byakuya came to capture Rukia. say your 1000 years to early? then got beat by Ichigo?

In SS I think the maturity also plays some role in how old a persom looks. I'd say around 90 years.

he finds errm the soul trapt in the parrot right?

we'll the parrot kid said that you dont age in Rukongai you stay the same so u die at 4 you stay 4 materially not mentally.

So we cannot even guess the ages. Yama might have been the first person to ever die in the world and been sent to Soul society and that could be 75000 years ago. but he could have died at the age of 80. staying the material age but not mentally.

I know its far fetched but it still can work and this theory can fit in.

But there is SOME sort of aging system in SS, because Ganju, Matsumoto, and Gin have been seen in flashbacks and have visibly aged since then..

I would say around 50 years of age.

Maybe souls who have powers are able to age, while souls that have no potential in being Death Gods stay the way they look, no matter what. That could explain the flashbacks for Rukia, Renji, Rin, etc. That's my 2 cents.

Yachiru is old enough to drink (Age 21). We've seen her drunk a couple of times.

She LOOKs younger than Rukia, but who's to say that Yachiru just died at a younger age? That would make Rukia look older, but in SS years be younger.

Anyways. I predict Yachiru's age to be around 200~300.

So if someone is a newborn he will age normally, and as he gets older the ageing becomes slower, so when he is at 5 year old it now took him 10 years to get 1 year older in looklike and so on. And when he lookslike a 30 year old it will took him 30 years to age 1 year in looklike.
That would somewhat explain Yama-jii, cuz hes more than 2000 years old and lookslike a 70-90 year old.

that seem too unrealistic even for this anime. the fact of growing older decreases ageing. i dont think that really is an explanation theory but a valid theory on your part.

BUT we are compairing the appearances of these people to our human age in our actually real life. which is pretty hard since this is reality that is fiction. i dont think it's valid to compare the ages of the anime characters to the reality.

By my comment i ment you should base the comparrison on the ages of the anime character in teh real world of the anime. yet i didnt put it as plain as that.

since isshin is 40-ish right? he doesnt look it. + anime doesnt look like human reality and that the accuracy of getting somewho actually looks a certain ages is beyond impossible we have the "majority" who looks like "a" but there are people who look younger than "a" but are the same age.

Um I think she has more than 40 years. if we would know how long kenpachi is a captain we could tell her similar age but for now we can only gues. I would say that she has atleast 60 years because I think Kenapachi is a captain for at least 40 years and they were traveling for some time together too before Kenapchi has become shinigami.
