Teen in Upcoming 'Harry Potter' Film Killed

LONDON (May 24) - A British teenage actor playing a minor role in the upcoming "Harry Potter" film was stabbed to death during a brawl in London on Saturday, police said.

Rob Knox, 18, was stabbed after he got caught up in a fight outside a bar in southwest London early Saturday, London's Metropolitan Police said in a statement.

Robert Knox, May 24: The 18-year-old actor, right, with his brother Jamie and mother Sally, was cast in the role of Marcus Belby for 'Harry Potter And The Half-Blood Prince.' He was stabbed to death outside a pub in Sidcup, England. Four others were hurt during the fight and one man was arrested on suspicion of murder.

Knox plays Ravenclaw student Marcus Belby in the upcoming film "Harry Potter And The Half-Blood Prince," the sixth installment of the popular series set for release in November.

Warner Bros., the studio that is producing the film, said it was shocked by the news.

Knox was one of five young men taken to various hospitals after the brawl, police said. Among them was a 21-year-old who has since been arrested on suspicion of murder.

The fight did not appear to be gang-related, police added, but it puts the number of violent teenage deaths in London at 14 so far this year.

I honestly don't feel much pity.

People are killed everyday, why should some extra in the Harry Potter films who died be any more important than say the 130,000 killed in Cyclone Nargis or any other person?

Plus, drunken bar fights will do that to you. I could see if it was some terminal illness but I have little sympathy for people involved in such incidents.

I know how crazy bar fights can escalate pretty quickly over nothing. Bar Fight or not its still sad to hear that young actor/person has died so needlessly. No death should be laughed at... but I guess there are exceptions...

true there should be nothing special about a harry potter actor dieing but he still died that's what this was about not "do you care?" or anything in that area but just the fact that someone died. There have a been a growing amount of gangs in London especially since the game came out. They say it's not gang related because the cops don't take the gangs in London seriously they laugh in there face basically. Almost everyone who has posted in this thread has made a fool out of themselves for not knowing the circumstances of his death, yes he shouldn't get anymore coverage than any other average joe but he did, deal with it.
He didn't die in a random bar fight, he died outside the bar...he wasn't even in the bar..or involved in the fight...someone got attacked with a knife...a perfect stranger if I remember correctly...he stepped in and saved the persons life but lost his own in the process...he could have just walked on by.

It's an example of the way this country is going to pot, it is a ****ing joke and you wouldn't understand unless you lived here, it's not safe anymore.
