Yup, you read correct. Another theatrical go at the legendary video game series, Street Fighter. I guess this time the focus is on Chun Li rather than the video game's main character Ryu. I don't mind, Kristen Kreuk is unbelievably hot.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0891592/
Director: Andrzej Bartowiak

Here's the current cast list:

Chun Li - Kristen Kreuk

Smallville´s Lana Lang is ready to squeeze into the miniskirt of everyone´s favorite helicopter-kicking heroine. This satisfies both game geeks who will only accept a certified hottie in the role of Chun-Li, and Kristin Kreuk fans who´ve been longing to see her do splits while dressed as a schoolgirl.

Balrog - Michael Clarke Duncan
http://cdn.maxim.com/24501-25000/24683_streetFighterCast_clarkDuncanBalrog_l1.jpg

Who better to portray Street Fighter´s resident Mike Tyson look-alike? Balrog is a simple punch-you-in-the-face badass in a world of acrobatic dance fighters, so Duncan´s no-nonsense baritone and Incredible Hulk body type should intimidate appropriately.

M.Bison - Neal McDonough
http://cdn.maxim.com/24501-25000/24682_streetFighterCast_mcDonoughMbison_l1.jpg
Stepping into Raul Julia´s shoes, Band of Brothers´ Buck Compton takes on the role of Street Fighter´s boss villain M. Bison. The guys who created the jack-booted, be-caped nemesis may not have had such a blond-haired, blue-eyed image in mind, but there´s no denying that McDonough´s stare is creepy as hell, and therefore fitting for a baddie like Bison.

Vega - Taboo
http://cdn.maxim.com/24501-25000/24681_streetFighterCast_tabooVega_l1.jpg
Taboo, one of the members of Black Eyed Peas who isn´t Fergilicious, has the dubious honor of playing the guy most made fun of by Street Fighter fans. The fey androgynous Vega likes theater masks, tight capri pants, and scratching—but he´s also a pretty frustrating guy to face-off against. Let´s hope Taboo has learned how to backflip.

Charlie Nash - Chris Klein
http://cdn.maxim.com/24501-25000/24680_streetFighterCast_kleinNash_l1.jpg
Charlie (known as "Nash" in the Japanese version of Street Fighter and combined into "Charlie Nash" for the film) is the guy who taught flat-topped military man Guile his signature moves. Rollerball ´s Chris Klein will be the guy shouting "sonic boom!" in theaters, and, we assume, chafing inside a wire-fu harness.

At least Jean Claude van Damme isn't in it this time around, am I right? Meh... :rolleye09

Other upcoming video game fighters in the making:
1. Tekken - 2009
2. King of Fighters - 2010
3. Mortal Kombat 3 - 2010

Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaa? What are you talking about? The director is the same guy who made Cradle 2 da Grave, Romeo Must Die, Doom, Exit Wounds and other masterpieces.

HAHA, yeah... It doesn't sound very promising does it? Probably gonna end up being like the DoA movie.

Dead or Alive lol :D That movie was pretty sh*t (not that I expected much when I rented it on DVD anyway, only rented it cos it was based on a fighting game lol). Honestly Kristen Kreuk doesn't really look like a Chun Li but I won't say anything else just yet until I see the trailer.

Anyway I will see this movie as well for the same reason I saw Dead or Alive :D Might watch it at cinema rather than DVD since I prefer Street Fighter over Dead or Alive.

This movie looks like fai even though a trailer isn't even out yetl. =o

The cast already scares me. The fact that the person who directed those movies mentioned above doesn't make it any better. xD

Those were some clever choices in images, because for a second I thought Kruek may actually be a good choice, but then I realised she isn't.

I think this movie will suck on a monumental level, hell at least DOA had Corey Yuen so it wasn't the complete and utter girl power suckfest I thought it would be.

At least Uwe Boll currently has no involvement with the project, that monster. Even though that's probably not saying much. At least there's the possibility that we can just call it another bad movie in the end, as opposed to just being a steaming monstrous pile of horse crap. So that gives me some hope, but just a tiny bit. :rolleye09

Nice choices for that cast. Here, I thought they'd pick a Chinese woman to play as Chun Li, since she's, like, Chinese. They totally threw me a curve ball. Brilliant!

Not.

Why must they keep attempting to make fighting games into movies? STOP! STOP! STOP! >: (

DoA was still made of fail... I just watched the movie for the same reason i play the game = Bouncing Boobies...

I guess Kristen Kreuk isn't THAT bad a choice... She is um, half chinese? Not that far off, right? Heheh... I still think she's gorgeous...

No Ryu or Ken, EPIC FAIL!

Chun-Li is kewl, but no Ryu and no Ken sort of makes me go 'mmm'

And I can't really picture Kristen Kreuk being badass ChunLi. Throwing kicks and kicking ass.

It's impossible for me to do it. IMPOSSIBLE I SAY!

*looks very pail and shaken*

Sorry, I think I...... threw up a little in my mouth....:eek13:

This "movie" (and I do use the term loosely) is just more ammunition for Hollywood to intensify their attack on intellectual thinking.

We should post an idiot in a flashy cosplay "Blanka" outfit outside every theater that will be screening this brain-drain of a "movie" warning people:
"Hear ye, hear ye! Join the carnival of stupidity and receive one free cyanide pill - suicide will be less painful than waiting for the end of this movie!"
