War Cries

I wrote this for POTW once and then Chi told me it was totally off subject. He was right for I didn't even realize that there was a subject for the week XD. But anyway I thought it was interesting so here's the post.

War Cries

Screaming, screaming, blazing and beaming.
I look up and, my eyes are teaming.
Anger is flowing and my eyes are blood shot
a cheap shot to the crotch they're down in one drop.

A slash from the side.
A gun shot wound.
Cries from young children
who cannot be cooed.

Drugs on the streets,
danger around the corner.
i just saw a friend
declared by the coroner.

Death is imminent
a short life indeed.
For death is the only
way we can all be freed.

The world...lights on fire...


Here's is another poem though I'm trying something different than I normally do... a Haiku.

Survival
Awareness, state of mind, wellbeing.
Protect those loved, forget those who aren't.
Courage is a view point.

Like i told you then, i really liked it.

About the Hiaku though, i am assuming your doing the non traditional haiku of 5,7,5 method of counting the syllables. If so then its a good piece.

It's all good and I wasn't bashing the fact. I just post a little info about it usually when I post poems. And I duno about the Haiku b/c I got it off of wikipedia and saw 5-7-5 so I was like OK! :D

But I don't think I did it right b/c I was counting words and not syllables.
