Ah, the tranquil recollection of past evenings.

Do leave a comment if you have anything constructive to say.

===========================================

Cool air is what I feel as the twilight fades
To black; a daunting, fearsome black that
Runs along my spine like cold, malignant blades,
Not poised to strike, but tenderly stroking;
And I remain trapped in here, my solitary tower,
A slave to the wiles of this melancholy hour,
Forced to contemplate the tyrannous stars.

I look upwards, into the eyes of lonesome Mars,
And the taunting stars glitter, and Mars does shine
A pale light upon this pale, heatless skin of mine,
So that perhaps it too can see a friendless me,
A misunderstood sigh, fathered by melancholy.

Oh, Mars, what waning whisper do you try to utter?
What solace-seeking song do you distantly intone?
Alas! Beautiful, bright Mars, tonight you beautifully stutter,
Burning with otherworldly passion: perhaps the first and final
Gleaming of your crimson, forlorn throne,
Upon the face of this poet and his much too lowly home.

There are probably a lot of things that you don't know about me:P

Anyway, thanks.

you established the mood effectively of a romanticized stargazer, and your extensive use of vocabulary heightened the pleasure of reading it.
