Szayel Aporro Granz vs. Zaraki Kenpachi

Szayel's released state grants him a number of different abilities. When droplets of the liquid dripping from his body touch an opponent, a copy of them is created that uses their own abilities against them. Szayel occasionally alters these clones' appearances to make them more aesthetically suitable. By wrapping an opponent in his wings, Szayel can create voodoo dolls of them. Any damage done to the dolls' internal organs (accessed by taking them apart and removing the organs with no damage to the original) is done to the original, debilitating them from the inside.

Despite his seeming disregard for any strategy in his fights and his self-admitted aversion to thinking during battle, Kenpachi is adept at finding and exploiting weaknesses in his opponents' techniques, such as in his battle with Kaname Tōsen. While he admits to having no sanity or common sense, Kenpachi is actually very perceptive and notices traits in people that others wouldn't notice. During his battles with both Tōsen and Nnoitra Jiruga, he formulates strategies to work around his disadvantages, such as losing his senses or fighting an opponent with six arms. His spiritual pressure is such that, even when wearing the energy-sealing eyepatch, Kenpachi can fight on-par with other captain-level opponents, even when they release their zanpakutō in either shikai or bankai form.

Kenpachi has a large degree of physical strength, most clearly evidenced by the fact that he kicked Tōsen through a building in their battle, and when he grabbed Ichigo's giant sword barehanded and reeled both him and the sword in for an attack. His physical strength is matched by his endurance: Kenpachi has been shown to easily ignore most of the injuries he's sustained in battle, not suffering any debilitation despite having multiple slash wounds in his body. He even allowed himself to be stabbed just to grab Tōsen's blade and break his bankai's effect. The majority of his fight with Nnoitra was a one-sided brawl in Nnoitra's favor, with Kenpachi only taking things seriously when he finds himself in actual danger of dying from the sheer number of lacerations he had received.

Gonna have to go with Zaraki on this one..

He has shown that he can take many wounds before even feeling tired, now the dolls that Granz makes could put him down i.e. internal organs etc. Also gotta remeber Zaraki took out the Nnoitra who is a stronger Espada than Granz is, so Gonna say Zaraki > Granz

I wish people would stop setting up these misinformed flame-bait threads... Zaraki enthusiasts will come marching here screaming that Zaraki's reiatsu will destroy anything Szayel can do while Szayel supporters will whine about how his skills and abilities will defeat a one-trick pony like Zaraki.

The beginning, middle, and end of the story is this: Szayel talks too much. He will talk, and talk, and talk, and talk, and talk until Zaraki gets bored and kills him.

Yes, Szayel's tricks should be able to beat him - he can clone Zaraki's base form and unpatched form, he can create a voodoo doll and destroy Zaraki's internal organs, and so on and so forth. But he won't do it because he's too stupid.

If the battle went like this: Zaraki come in --> Szayel releases and creates a voodoo doll --> Zaraki asks Szayel to cut him --> Szayel crushes Zaraki's tendons and proceeds to destroy his internal organs one by one, Szayel would win.

But it won't happen because Szayel is stupid and will just gloat until Zaraki gets too bored and leaves, or just cuts him,.

If - and that's one massive if - Szayel does what he so far failed to do, i.e. just finishing the goddamn battle with his most deadly ability, Szayel wins.

But it won't happen, so I'll just leave without saying who I think will win.

Also, it's Zaraki Kenpachi, not "Kempachi". It's rather clearly pronounced in the anime as "Kenpachi" and I'm pretty sure "Kem" doesn't mean sword, so...

Zaraki is able to take great beatings without much affect and still dish out quite a bit of damage. It would be quite clo0se but Zaraki would get like a larger wound and decide he has to fight- meanwhile Szayel would be standing there gloating until he was cut in to.

Well, if Zaraki's tendons are cut, he won't be able to move his arms and legs, so he won't be able to attack.

But... refer to my post, I think I covered why there's a fairly equal chance to both. Personally, I think... mah, never mind. It's not worth saying who I think will win.

Loathe as I am to say...I consider Zaraki the winner of this based on the fact that I consider Szayel's hierro to be pretty weak, meaning a strike from patched Zaraki would be fatal.

Don't remember though: does he need to get close to hit you with his goo? And is said goo needed to create a doll of the opponent? If not, then I'd lean more towards him. Infact, the doll thing would be enough to win...if he would indeed crush his heart when he had the chance. Likewise, since he get's no fraccion, he can't regenerate right?

Okay for the sake of the story, yes things happen such as Slayel talking to much. But if you want to be real, Ken has no chance in hell this time.

If you ignore the tendon ripping organ crushing fight against your own clone part, say Ken cut him in one fetal swoop, and then just left. Slayzel would eat his minnions to come back to life, or plant his 'seeds' in his minnions to come back to life. OR plant them in Ken. Unless Ken can focus all his energy into his hands and destroy HM in one two handed slash, then he has no chance.

Szayel gets brought to his knees by an unpatched zaraki's riatsu. he then gets one shotted end of the fight. Szayel has nothing to study on Zaraki, what you see is what you get, a bad ass dude. unless he has a way to nullify getting chopped clean in half

Zaraki's antibodies are so badass that szayel will be zomg-wtf-pned by his immune system.

As Retsu said, Szayel can't learn much or use anything as a trump card against a psycho like Zaraki. You can't disable his shikai, you can't disable his bankai, you can't defeat him by making him slay his dumb clone...so what're you gonna do?

There is only one answer. DIE.
