I don't see why, if the have the material (I've not read the manga) then there's no reason it can't be just as good. This is one where they don't have to increase powers dramatically to keep it interesting, because they don't really exist. There are enough existing characters to keep me happy too

They'll have enough material for the anime. The current arc is more than 18 chapters and the season will be based on that. 12 episodes with minimum filler crap can be done.

No, please, no. That Engrish near the end was the single worse part of the entire series. They should have had Revy just keep speaking in Japanese the whole time.

But when they do it like in Beck, where they try and say the f-word every other word, its just so lame.

Except the companies consider this three separate series. But yeah, personally I count the first season and Second Barrage as one anime.

I wish they had found a native English speaker that sounded similar to the regular VA for those parts. Balalaika's English sounded okay. But Revy was supposed to be American, and she was horrible.

But it's not appropriate when the characters themselves are not Japanese. Come to think of it, Rock was the only Japanese character in the show until we got to the last arc of S.B. - Most of the others were from Latin American countries, Eastern Europe, or the South East region of Asia.

I watched the dub, and they did a fairly good job with the Japan arc in S.B., since the only one speaking any differently was Rock, and he was just speaking in native tongue (I think the same VA clip from the japanese version), thus making it very believable and easy to follow. The dub was overall really good with accents and portraying different ethnicities. :)

So in the Japan arc, Rock and the Washamine group speak in Japanese in the dub? That's cool. You ought to see that arc in the sub. The English was cringeworthy.

Wait. What about the first epsiode of that arc where Revy starts a ruckus at the festival and someone complains about her not speaking in Japanese. Did the man from the crowd yell it in Japanese? Wasn't everyone else at the festival speaking in Englsh make that kinda odd?

When the Washamine group made contact with Motel Moscow, they spoke Japanese, and Rock spoke japanese in these moments in order to translate what Balalaika was saying.

The Second Barrage hasn't been released in dub yet, it was part of the whole Geneon crash thing. But Funimation will be distrbuting it later this year.

Yeah, I recorded the dub through DVR, and I own the first half on dvd. :)

I'm hoping for some all-in-one box sets from Funimation for the older Geneon titles they got the rights to.

Hira: Cartoon Place may have released season 2 dub recordings if they had Starz.

i did love black lagoon a lot when i watched it. Though it's suppose to be season 1 and 2, i watch it continuously, so it's more like one season to me. Will be looking out for it...
