My post count just dropped 300 posts... not that big of a deal I just want to know why.

Ok I see, the association game and some other threads were moved to Randomness. I understand, thanx for the help ^^

The reason the thread was moved to randomness was for two reasons:

a) 90% of the thread was spam, and if people were exploiting the fact that there were no mods there, why should I allow post count to stay now that mods are there?

b) When I gave a warning about not posting one liners, what happened? I had to delete several one liners the day after. I am not going to waste my time PMing all these people if they can't read the rules.

But The main problem I had with this whole thing is the way the staff handled everything. You could of given us better reasons on why they moved our main threads to the randomness then it was a spamfest. I think if they left them and implemented the rules then no one would of had a problem with some of the threads going to randomness.

My problem is not some of the threads... its only the main thread and I belive that moving out main thread from the open to the randomness...
burying it in a sub forum designated for spam...
brings feelings that its viewed as unimportant, trivial and other like adjectives.. it may be that to some of you but for the reasons given then every team, group organization that has a good deal of spam in their main thread should be moved as well ... so all divisions.. graphic teams.. maybe not all but still... and of course captains section and the moderator/admin section should be a 0 post count zone as a whole

Yeah. The rest of the gen I dont care much about. Association game, spam, pix comments, spam. Member profiles, male or female, theme song, all those I can easily see as spam.

But our main convo thread, which I know I tried to make my posts meaningful and I have very few if any one liners in there. I had debates with people, nice long discussions, etc.

I doubt all 11k posts were read through when "90%" of it was claimed as "spam"

Since not all of you are in the 07 generation, I am going to quote what Neve said in our generation:

Hi all. I'm really sorry if you feel that you lost out as a result of the recent changes made to the generation forum. Please understand, though, that post count really doesn't matter at all when we're considering things like the selection of new staff members :). Just look at my post count if you like - it's lower than the post counts of a lot of moderators and regular members!

The purpose of turning off post count increase in this section and not in the main section is to make the distinction that this section is intended for spam, whereas the main section is intended for non-spam conversation. Spam is against the rules on this forum except for in non post count increase zones, and it makes sense to make that distinction in this case :).

Again, I apologise if you feel you've been caused any injustice, but as I say, I promise we don't make any decisions on the basis of post count, and it's much better for the forum in the long run to have a way of separating out spam from non-spam sections. Finally, if you do want to complain, complain to me rather than to Khold! He didn't make the section :P

He also said that if you have any questions or complaints, PM him.

Obviously the thread was moved to randomness because it would have taken up too much of our moderators' life span to delete all of the spam in the threads.

The only way for another thread to become pregnant with spam is for a mod to not be doing his/her work.

Question answered.. repeatedly.

Most of us were saying there should be no post count at all in the section, but we realize that some people hold their post count dear to them, so you should all be happy there's still a place to discuss things while raising post count.

Main purpose - spam takes up forum space.

For those who like to spam, there's the randomness section. For those who don't, there's the main section. Plenty for both sides. Enjoy! :D
