Bump

I watched the first episode. The animation is done pretty well, the art style is sort of weird, but unique. I am more satisfied than disappointed however, I feel as though this will be an entertaining watch to say the least.
*note: I am a manga reader, this is based on a long on-going manga*

However, the only thing i didnt particularly like was the character of Manji. The voice actor was fine and all, but I kind of think they portrayed him a little wrong. The way he avenged the death of his sister was portrayed differently in the manga. When he killed the guy, he commented on how rusty his skills have gotten cause he couldnt draw all 12 blades when killing him, not about how he did his duty or whatever morality phrase they made him say.

They are off to a decent start, I hope they dont screw up his character though. Other than that, the anime is stellar, everyone should check it out.

AEN is known to make up subs, so it's best to wait for L-E to do it.

AEN makes up subs? Never knew that :Haha They seemed fine with Soul Eater, only didnt like the font and some choice of words which is why I chose Rumbel.

If I watch this, I will watch the subs by Live-eviL (assuming thats the L-E u are talking about Kenta), they are usually good.

Anyway I downloaded the first ep already (by AEN), watch later

I probably will later on (if they dont spend months releasing each ep), but this is an anime I have anticipated since the minute information was released, so I just had to watch it. Im comparing manga to anime so I know how a lot of it goes already.

Im hoping that the changes in personality I noticed were because of poor translation.

I am watching this right now. It's been boring so far but maybe it will get better later on

edit: nothing interesting yet.I'll watch a few more episodes before I decide to drop it or not.

The opening song was AWFUL :sad

I always thought the story in Blade of the Immortal picked up after a few manga chapters, the beginning was kind of weak imo.

Yes, the beginning was weak. Nothing in it seemed very interesting to me. Though I don't even know what this anime is supposed to be about. I just clicked on it and started watching :lol

Well, if you like Samurai/ronin manga, this will interest you. if you stick with it you will see a plot develop.

Was interesting enough to keep me going for now, I'd like to see what someone who is immortal has to fight in order to keep it from being a boring waltz over all comparatively weak opponents.

I still wonder how he doesn't stab himself when he walks o.O

Yeah I don't know whats it about either lol I just watched it for similar reasons u did and it did involve a main character who was supposedly immortal so wanted to see him regenerate limbs, stand back up after an attack that would have killed somebody in 1 blow etc. :D

Well, if you like Samurai/ronin manga, this will interest you. if you stick with it you will see a plot develop.

Yeah I do like samurai anime/manga so I guess I will stick with it for a while. The last samurai anime I watched was Sword of the Stranger which was awesome in my opinion.

Maybe he does? Just regenerates from every stab wound lol :D So basically a walking stabbing himself and healing machine :D

I thought the same thing when I picked up the manga, but the way everything pans out it actually does keep you interested. Its not just him going around killing people and always winning cause hes immortal. Other than this immortality spell, the manga is based in a rather realistic atmosphere.

I dont think this is a big enough spoiler to put in spoiler tags, its basically just telling you about character names. This is probably the arc the anime will be covering.

In this story arc, the reader is introduced to the main characters, plot, central conflict and overall theme of the series ("documenting the human struggle"). The plot is superficially simple: Manji and Rin wander around Edo, occasionally meeting members of Ittō-ryū on their quest to find Anotsu. However, the bulk of Samura's philosophical ruminations can be found in this introductory story arc, from obsession (Conquest, Genius) duty (Dreamsong) the burden of time (Cry of the Worm) and revenge / redemption (On Silent Wings). Part of Samura's appeal is in not painting his "villains" with black-and-white strokes; even the supposed antagonist Anotsu, who espouses an "end justifies the means" philosophy, elicits sympathy from the reader via his ultimate goal - in that, fighting the widespread corruption of his era and therein fashioning a stronger Japanese society.

though nobody seems confident with the producer.
Does anybody know who else is subbing this? would like to get a better sub...

At the moment seems like AEN (joint with KSN) are the only ones subbing this. To be honest I expected more sub groups to fansub this. Maybe in the future there will be more groups subbing this.

Bee Train has released a lot of sub-par crap. I was sort of disappointed to see them pick this up instead of a more reputable company. I hope this anime is good enough to make people think better of them. This is a project Bones should of handled, they make the amazing even more amazing.

I actually liked the first episode.

Nothing like a traumatized retarded hot sister who tries to serve you horse crap rice balls to really set the mood. LoL. I thought it was pretty good though, but I'm pretty lenient when it comes to anime I guess :)

Ep 2 is pretty nifty, I like how he's not quick to jump into action. It does seem to go at a slow pace though, when the end gets there you don't feel like much has happened, but they are still setting the stage.

The next episode should get into the story. It was crucial they showed what happened in Rin's past, so that was basically unavoidable in the 2nd episode. It basically shows why Manji accepts her request to go after Kagehisa and his crew.

I think its going ok so far, I still would have wished the art in the anime could be better. It doesnt compare well with the manga, but who really expected it would? I guess as long as the action scenes are animated well and gory enough (as portrayed in the manga) ill be happy. The killing in the 2nd ep seemed pretty good, from what I remember it is exactly how the manga showed it.

Cant wait for the 3rd ep, does anyone know when its coming out?

This anime sucks!! Manji sucks!! This whole world sucks!!

Oh.. sorry... reiterating a movie into my comments...

I'm out of order?!? You're out of order!! THIS WHOLE COURT ROOM IS OUT OF ORDER!!

Ok anyways, actually on topic. I can't wait to see some wicked sick fights. You know it's coming too. That one guy with the mustache... (i wonder if it tickles when you kiss him) is going to be ownage.
