View Full Version : Donut demands an explanation for this bullshit

This wont be very long or in-depth, because it's not needed, but anyway;
The forum is getting very annoying these days, with these extreme loading times, and the reoccurring downtimes, and now the double-post thing, I'm seriously wondering what the hell the CB management is doing. Care to elaborate? Myself I'm thinking that you're not giving a shit, so please spare me from the "real life"-excuses. Most of us on here do have those too, you know. I'm sure you could spare a few hours.
The admins/management's behavior is arrogant and very disrespectful to your members, especially to the donating ones. So... if you can't handle to run a forum... don't. Or get someone who can instead. This bullshit has gone on for too long, and I'm considering leaving the forum.
We've been ****ing patient.

Would donut care to lend his vast technical expertise to the task of fixing it?

Not my forum, not my responsibility.
hmmm, I have to agree with donut, it is very frustrating, and I know other vbulletin forums that work perfectly fine, so there is no excuse about technical expertise, I think maybe there should be more focus on fixing the kinks in the forums :/
To avoid losing members I think maybe these maintenance issues should be solved.

I agree, these problems are becoming a real anoyance!
Now don't ask me, "Why dont u give us some of ur expertise?" Cause guess what, I dont know how to fix a forum, but guess what, you guys do! Or at least u should! Your bludy admins for christs sake just take a day off and get it sorted, for the good of the members!

Either make a drastic change with the money donated...
or give us back the old CB.
With the vbux system, ability to comment each member's profile.
Those were the features that attracted me and I'm sure to everyone else as well.
But more importantly, fix the bugs.
This forum has been under maintenance ever since I came back.
If the issue is with the database, assign someone else to take care of it. More expertise and manpower could equal to better results.
What makes you think the staff knows how to fix the forum? There is really no maintenance going on at all and I already tried talking to Unholy but who knows what he is doing. Go complain to him. I would of fixed these problems if I could fix them but I cant
Only Unholy can fix these problems since he is the one that has access to the host/server, and tbh the host does suck

If Unholy is inactive maybe one of the CB admins should get the power he has.
Also I don't think that Unholy should be used as an excuse for the lateness in privileges that should have been received by the top 3 divisions on the Divisional ladder. I think you guys have the power to do that atleast.
Forum is currently undergoing maintenance. Please be patient
How patient do you expect us to be!

Guys, DB says he can't do anything about it so there is no point in complaining to him. He has said several times in the past that he has told Unholy and that Unholy has to get something done.
I say we write a freestyle to Unholy about this. He usually responds to those :)

In all honesty, the issues, such as double posting, data base errors and load times, are an annoyance, but to go as far as to say you're going to leave is a bit excessive. I want the forum fixed as much as anyone else, but things in life don't always go the way you want them. Sometimes RL issues don't permit someone such as the admins to just stop what their doing IRL and just work on the forum. People have school, jobs, familys, gfs, bfs, other issues that need to be attended to first. Like DB said, the host sucks.. I think that is painfully obvious at the occasional database error or load times. Maintenance has been going for some time, but, maintenance isn't just a 1 day or 1 week thing, at least not always. I'm sure issues will be resolved, maybe not today or tomorrow, but in due time. Patience is a necessity in these dire times of CB slowness... Can't deal with the lag, go outside or read a book.

EDIT// Khold got there before me.
As much as it is, try thinking in the admin's shoes.
As DB said, the admins can't fix a database error since they have no access to it. The best they can do is complain to Unholy, which they already did. So stop *****ing and whining to the admins. Send it to Unholy.
And if you're so aggravated by it, get off CB and go to one of the "properly working forums" you speak of. Or go ride a bike.

Alright, fair enough.
Also Barb and Akiha... No need to imply that I don't have a life, because you don't know me. Painfully obvious counter, but /gg. I just want the forum I frequent working properly, and when you think about it it isn't that much to ask.

Wasn't directed at whether you have a life or not. More of a suggestion. If something is bothering you, just simply do something else. Never said get a life :cm:
Edit: Should say it wasn't directed at anyone. More of everyone who is frustrated by the database issues.

Never implied that. I honestly think I have less of one than you.
I implied, more or less stated, that people who are aggravated leave the forum, cool off, and burn some time.

How exactly does one do that? I've had maybe 2 or 3 today. I'll do that next time I get one if I know how.

LoL... I've done that before.. Christ I'm slow sometimes...
Ok. I just did it now, and it was like.. 10 pages long of code... You want that whole thing? Don't think I could fit it all in a PM tbh.

It'll be less codes when it's at the Database Error page.

Honestly, we're in a heluva lot better shape than we were when all this started.
The host was threatening to shut down the site completely if the server load didn't quit going so high, so I am majorly grateful that we even have a forum right now.
So, to whomever managed to get the forums to quit shooting the server load through the roof, I salute you.

Not my forum, not my responsibility.
No, but if you have technical expertise that can be of help, offering assistance would get you what you want sooner.

While the forum maintenance problem is something that admins can't solve, it still wouldn't hurt to be around more often. Even if you can't solve the problems, just being there is enough.
Over the past 3 months, admin involvement in anything has been inconsistent at best. They've come and left at their leisure without a sense of responsibility, and many things remain unfinished.
The CB population can live with the technical problems, they've been through both the good times and the bad. But one thing that was always there was having people to turn to for accountability. Unfortunately, we don't have it right now, and that's why there are complaints.

Its all my fault, Adam and I are using the forums host server to put all our porn files on instead of our computers...What can I say it can't handle it..:]..
As for things, Adam is talking to the server host constantly and their trying to figure out a way around all this....Don't know what your complaining about, Cb always goes down randomly...XD..

I lol'd.
Anyway, I'd just like to see Mods a little bit more active.
General mods are already active enough...but those in a higher position.
That way most questions get answered - not leaving us CB'ers wondering WTF is going on. :|
