I read about it in the papers yesterday.

That's just...sick and twisted.

Poor McLean. RIP.

That's some horror movie shit right there man. Imagine being on the bus, and witnessing that dude going apeshit. SCAAAAAARY.

I find it interesting they say they have a "suspect"...sounds to me like it wouldn't be hard to prove.

I'm kind of curious as to why everyone got off the bus while the stabbing was going on, and nobody helped the victim; a bunch of them had to have gone right past the two on their way out.

It's human nature to run off when they are scared. They obviously don't want to risk being another victim.

I heard about this in the newspaper. This guy is crazy. I read that some of them tried to get back onto the bus to try and stop him, but he chased them off again.

Cuz the first thing that people think about is self preservation. Less than 1% of people out there would have helped that man. Not because the other 99% are cowards, but because is a natural response. When your life is in danger you are going to try anything possible to keep yourself alive. When something like this happens you hear people: "well I would have done this, and that", but they are just full of shit. Because most of the time nobody does anything, even when the numbers are on the victims' favor.

Brings to mind a Galileo quote:
Friend: "Sad is the country that breeds no heroes."
To which Galileo responded: "No, sad is the country that needs heroes."
(Or something to that extent.)

I actually couldn't believe that something like this could happen... but this is yet another reminder how cruel this world can be.

Yeah, I heard about this on the news...that was just beyond sick...but hey we live on Earth...people are sick.
McLean RIP, and strength to his family.
But something similar happened yesterday some time, I forget where but a guy ‘supposedly’ killed his girl friend, beheaded her then carried her head up and down the road where they lived...
What is going on in this world?

Interesting.

I don't know why people are so surprised. ****ed up shit like this happens more often then you'd think; its just that the details were leaked out, and it was a pretty "public" happening.

About noone helping him, its just like when that guy was knocked out in the middle of the street or whatever, and people walked literally inches beside him... to cross the street and leave him there.

Gotta love us humans. :jcm:

Was this a random murder, or was there a reason - other than insanity, that is. :hmm:

RIP, btw.

I think they believe it was a random murder at this point. My dad said he heard somewhere (and that's a legit source for anything) that the victim was sitting next to the guy, and just listening to his iPod or MP3 player of choice when the guy went ape shit on him. So there's speculation that the psycho might have asked him a question and the guy didn't hear him, making it seem like he was ignoring him, which in today's world apparently is reasoning enough to cut off a guy's head and eat chunks of him.

The world's just getting worse and worse. The amazing thing is that people actually think of doing this and act on that impulse. Sick f**** in this world to no extent.

He deserves every single bit of shit coming to him. I can't help but agree with Hueso Loco when it comes to the whole thing about people acting on impulse. Just like those who shout at people in horror movies for doing so called asinine things when in reality, majority of people would do the same or worse.

It's just sad that he was chosen the vistim on that day. Here's to hoping that sick f***** is hit by justice one way or another.

^ Jack Thompson is a fool, also hasn't he already lost any influence he ever had in the first place?

Anyways, this happened close to home for me, and it was fairly crazy to hear about.
Apparently when in court, the killer refused a lawyer, pleaded guilty, and said in a whisper "please kill me".

Now at this point I am not sure how to respond. Crazed maniac? Or simply a man that snapped under some sort of pressure life had bestowed upon him? It has been known to happen.
Also, some kid saw the killer before he boarded the bus, and apparently had some sort of conversation with him, in which he purchased a laptop off of the killer for $60. Yet the kid still lives. My point, why on earth would he kill a man on a bus full of people, when he was in contact with a kid whom he could much more easily have overpowered and killed? Obviously he wasn't out to kill someone at the time, IMO his act of murder must have been triggered by something on the bus.

'Twas a gruesome death for someone to experience, but I am not sure it really impacted me all too much. Maybe I'm too desensitized to this sort of thing by now. All I know is that I was able to laugh when my friend made a joke of greyhound buses selling neck protectors to bus riders from now on. Does this make me a bad person?

Nah, I chuckled a little too. Though that could just mean we're both bad people...

Dude was on some Jeffery Dahmer shit obviously. That being said I'm not disgusted and lol there is nothing wrong with the world. People been getting their heads and bodies chopped up and rival gangs knifin each other up in prison yards daily since gangbanging came around. That type of ish just doesn't get reported.

Omg that just goes to show how some people these days don't need a reason to do something, sometimes they just act either on impulse or mentally.
