The yuri is the best part of this anime. Fanservice anime should all be done this way. They took away the male protagonist and I find that to be a blessing.

Episode 3 seemed to dive full bore into the Yuri aspects. So much eye candy implying yuri, lol. Its still fun to watch, this anime seems to be really good considering its use is mainly fanservice.

And was it just me, or was the animation better in the first 2 episodes? In the 3rd I noticed a lot of choppy animation, kinda looked low budget at times.

I would say episode 3 is actually a bit toned down in the yuri and fanservice aspect compared to episode 2 and 4. The only highlight was Sousou's lewd comment about Kannu's hair.

It's hard to gauge Kannu's power. But it would make absolutely no sense if Ryofu wasn't the strongest as in the novel/history he was the strongest warrior in the three kingdoms era.

I'm not so sure I'm liking the idea that the heroes of Sanguo are portrayed as females. Also, miniskirts in ancient China? Wtf? People in China at that time sit in chairs? Wtf?

I guess I liked the fact that it wasn't the same, old Three Kingdoms plot, but they still incorporated things from the story in there, such as Kannu and Chouhi being sisters, Sousou admiring Kannu, Sonsaku being impulsive and war-happy, etc. Unfortunately, I don't think the tone of this anime would be suitable for it to follow the RoTK plot like Ikkitousen did (even though that was even a bit off).

Its probably a good thing you dont know the plot, though it would probably make the anime less confusing. A lot goes on with tons of characters like every episode, its a little hard to follow.

RoTK = Romance of the Three Kingdoms. It's a historical novel written by Luo Guanzhong about the fall of the Han Dynasty and basically chaos ensues between the three kingdoms (Wei, Wu, and Shu) to fight for leadership.

Wei = Cao Cao (Sousou)
Wu = Liu Bei (Ryuubi)
Shu = Sun family (Sonsaku, and I forget Sun Quan's japanese name...)

Well, I'm really only familiar with the novel and religiously played Dyansty Warriors 2-5, so don't ask me about any historical accuracies about either of those...

But yeah, it's not really a theme, but more so anime basing the plot around the Three Kingdoms era. Both Koihime Musou and Ikkitousen are what I would call alternate universes to the original story. The novel itself isn't completely historically accurate either, but the characters in the novel did exist one time in history. :P

So, my knowledge of the novel is the root of all the "WTF" moments I had in the anime.

Dong Zhuo is a small and very nice little girl.

Sousou wants Aisha, which you can relate to the novel. Cao Cao requested Guan Yu's strength for the Battle of Cheng Du. He tried to convince him to stay though, but failed.

Zhuge Liang is another little girl. Relevant, but I'm having a hunch that she may be sick inside too. After all, the real Zhuge Liang had a disease and died because of it.

I STILL don't see a koihime version of Sima Yi!
