Release date: July 17, 2009 (conventional theaters and IMAX)
Director: David Yates
Screenwriter: Steven Kloves
Plot summary: Voldemort is tightening his grip on both the Muggle and wizarding worlds and Hogwarts is no longer the safe haven it once was. Harry suspects that dangers may even lie within the castle, but Dumbledore is more intent upon preparing him for the final battle that he knows is fast approaching. Together they work to find the key to unlock Voldemort's defenses and, to this end, Dumbledore recruits his old friend and colleague, the well-connected and unsuspecting bon vivant Professor Horace Slughorn, whom he believes holds crucial information. Meanwhile, the students are under attack from a very different adversary as teenage hormones rage across the ramparts. Harry finds himself more and more drawn to Ginny, but so is Dean Thomas. And Lavender Brown has decided that Ron is the one for her, only she hadn’t counted on Romilda Vane's chocolates! And then there's Hermione, simpering with jealously but determined not to show her feelings. As romance blossoms, one student remains aloof. He is determined to make his mark, albeit a dark one. Love is in the air, but tragedy lies ahead and Hogwarts may never be the same again."

I watched the trailer already and I think it looks awesome. Probably better than the previous Harry Potter movies (just based on the trailer lol). My bro thinks the kid who plays Voldemort as a kid can be freaky lol :D

HBP ftw! I hope it flows better than OotP did. Because Visually that movie was awesome but it just felt so incomplete things jumped far to often. I understand they have to leave stuff out because OotP was a long book, but the omitted too much imo.

Yeah I felt they excluded too much of Kreacher's part (including character development) which is important later (for everybody who reads the books, u know what I am on about) cos all he did in HP5 was just pass by and say a few lines and only appeared in 1 scene.

But I agree with u Sky, visually, HP5 was good but surprisingly also the shortest HP movie at the moment and HP5 was ironically the longest book.

I'm really looking forward to this movie. Although many people have told me they didn't like the Order of the Pheonix movie, it was actually my favorite. Mostly because of the action. I'm really looking forward to the upcoming movies, because this it is at this point in the story that things start getting good. I hope there are more great Wizard duels in this flick.

Huge fan of the books.. And I can't wait 'till this hits theaters. But yeah, I agree with the previous post of OotP being a bit jumpy. But I'm still a huge fan, nonetheless.

Harry potter NUT right here. :)

The last one wasn't great, Radcliffe keeps playing Harry far too angry. :/ He wasn't like that in the book, I swear. And Dumbledore is also rather angry. >: (

But this trailer looks good! I hope they don't mess it up. A lot could go wrong.

+pep for the share.

I am glad that I am not the only one who has noticed that Michael Gambon plays Dumbledore angrily lol :Haha As for Radcliffe I think they were trying to show how Voldemort was affecting Harry's mind but it was too much sometimes but I still thought the movie was good.

Hehehe the thing I'm looking forward to seeing most is Hermione jumping like a crazy sex-deprived lunatic on Ron, but that's all 'till Deathly Hallows pt. 2.

I also found OOTP to be quite likeable, especially the action scenes. I just think more content could have been placed inside it. Anyway, I look forward to HBP and hope that it turns out good.

Apparently the movie got pushed back. It will now be released on July 17, 2009. No idea why though.

WHAT

THE

DEUCE?!

Are they whack or something?! This why:

Originally due out November 21, 2008, the movie is now going to be released July 17, 2009. There is not a delay in production, Warner Bros. just wanted to take advantage of an open slot in the busy summer movie line up. The push will not affect the Deathly Hollows schedule.

Bloody pricks. Now I only have that Jason Statham flick and Twilight to look forward to. What they did turn into p****** the last minute and chicken out cuz of Twilight's contest. Not only that, but it's iffically broken the trend of its usual release date AND the fact that its now roughly a year away. Back to sqaure one....right where we left off the effing OOTP.

An pissed.

I doubt a badly written angsty teenage film can beat HP. They just want to capitalize on the supposedly bigger Summer audience and close in on the gap between HBP and the first Deathly Hallows film. I don't see what's the big deal. It's not like you're anxious to know what happens to Harry. And with the delay, more scenes could be added in.

Uh oh... do I smell anti- twilight? And fried chikan?!

It's not about adding in other scenes or whatever. Like they'd focus on that when they have to get DH to the tee. They have broken their trend and imagine how the internet-challenged will feel when they find out about this.

Well, I dunno about Twilight beating HP cuz I've meant to read it but never got my hands on a book. But the chick sure as hell beats Watson. And that's today's shizzle yo yo :cm:
