A remake of the 1951 classic sci-fi film. Looks pretty epic.

Directed by Scott Derrickson and starring Keanu Reeves as Klaatu, the film updates Cold War themes like nuclear warfare to more contemporary ones, such as "humans vs. nature" and humanity's generally violent nature toward itself.

Sounds like another movie for Keanu Reeves to save the world in.

I'm not seeing it as I saw the preview for it and was not impressed.

Actually, more like the opposite.

He's the alien.

Have you seen the original The Day the Earth Stood Still?

He saves the earth by forcing them to not use violence. Sure it's the Sadaam Hussein way of going about it but it still registers in my book. I'm tired of Keanu in Saviour/God Roles.

lol k, point taken. No need to spoil it :P

I wouldn't blame Keanu though. That was basically one role that spanned 3 movies.

Sorry it just seemed from the remake trailer that it seemed that things were different from the original. I'll run that through a filter before I type about it again.

I'm liking the way this movie is looking. I might spend the money to see it in the theater. Maybe.

I also think it'll actually be a good role for Keanu.

I hope this doesn't fail, because I really admire Jennifer Connelly. Lol, and what an ideal role for Reeves: an emotionless alien.

I don't think I've heard of the 1951 movie before. Anyway its sci-fi so I'd probably go see it too. And Keanu Reeves is an ok actor.

Lol, and what an ideal role for Reeves: an emotionless alien.

I laughed at that and agree a bit too lol :Haha
