Nogizaka Haruka no Himitsu

OK, I know this anime is a bit cheesy and corny, but I was wondering if there's anyone else on CB other than me who watches this show. Personally, I think I like shows that stars anime otakus. The main character, Nogizaka Haruka is really moe and I like her secret anime obsession. I don't understand though, is being an otaku really THAT bad in Japan?

Oh well, please discuss how you feel about this anime.

:o Sure, this anime is a little bit girly, but it's funny nonetheless. The gratuitous fanservice does ruin it a bit, though.

I think it is a 12 or 13 episode anime. I really don't see how they can stretch this for 24 episodes.

This anime is alright. It's got a lot of references to other anime too. Otakus are looked down upon because there's a stereotype that they are obsessed and do weird stuff (like murder) because of anime/manga influences. But, in Akihabara, otakus flourish. If you want to find something anime, you can definitely find it in Akihabara.

hmmm... from a perspective this anime is a bit shojo not shonin.
But that's from a perspective. Understanding this anime is better than trying to understand Penguin Girl. Both have their funny moments but this one ups it by 1 on the slice of life category. (where was I? :p ) Basically like it or don't watch it. :Haha

I've heard about stuff like that, but still, for Haruka to lose ALL form of credibility and popularity at her former school sounded too ridiculous. Besides, since when does carrying an anime magazine mean you're an otaku? Ah, w/e, it doesn't ruin the storyline too much. I don't like Amamiya, though. It's like she was put there just for a love triangle.

I like this anime as it's rather amusing for me. Although I like dark anime, I also enjoy the cutesy stuff as well. XD

The only downside is that there are a lot of cliches, but being able to recognize the references they make is also nice.

Cutesy or no, the current season is light anyway, needed something else.

Oh, the Ueda Kana reference in one of the earlier episodes? Yeah, I lol'd hard at that one. She plays the maid, right? At first, I thought she played Mika, because their voices sound similar to me (if you ever heard Rin's voice in Fate Stay Night, that's how I first though Kana was Mika)

For some reason, I enjoy watching anime that center around the japanese otaku lifestyle, such as Genshiken and such.

The best part about the Shana-chan reference is that it's Hecate who's saying "urusai urusai urusai!" (Mamiko plays both Hecate and Haruka, in case you didn't know)

See, if you don't appreciate the moeness, then there's really nothing to enjoy about this show, unfortunately. As you've said, it's unoriginal, and the central love story is so cheesy. Basically, I don't see how someone can enjoy this show if he/she doesn't like Haruka =/

I think the main male character in this anime is better than most main male characters from this type of anime. otakus FTW!

Anyways, I think he's a little bit better. He's not a perverted freak, for one thing (well, sort of, but it's nothing compared to other guys in harem anime)

I don't mind Shiina as a character, but I agree with you in that I don't like her placement in the show to create a love triangle sort of thing.

Then again, going with cliches again, it seems as if any anime/manga with a romantic feel (yes, I do get that "high school romance" feel from this one) has the main male character and two female love interests or vice versa. I mean, Myself;Yourself had it, Kimikiss had it, and many others I'm sure. XD

Nevertheless, Shiina or not, I'm still going to watch this anime.

Oh yeah, I didn't say Shiina killed the anime; it's just that I felt it her presence is unncessary. It's either for the love triangle thing, or to add on the gratuitous fanservice. I mean, I think we've seen more Shiina fanservice than we have from any other girl in this anime.

LoL. I like some fanservice but I mean ****.. I've watched all 3 seasons of ikkitousen... The first one was bleh! and it had a lot of fanservice (almost nothing but) 2nd season was actually good, and had less fan service (may of been from the subers blocking the **** out) and season 3 starts out every episode with full frontal nudity lmfao. I enjoy my fanservice very much, but to an extent :) I always prefer action and good story/character build over complete fanservice.

You know, I don't think the fanservice is that bad in this anime. I mean, yeah... Ikkitousen has the worst fanservice, no offense, that isn't exactly hentai XD. And it seems that each series it goes up, they get even more detailed in the nudity. XD

But anyway, Ikkitousen and Nogizaka Haruka no Himitsu are two totally different anime...

Yeah, it is pretty similar to Hayate no Gotoku. But I like Haruka much better than Nagi. Nagi really annoyed me

Lol. Just for the record. Ikkitousen season 2 had less ecchiness then season one. I think that may of been in part due to the subbers though... (I was getting like, diagonally cut screens to cover up nudie shots.. but season 3 is horrible with it T_T.. I just cant pull myself way from finishing it though xD).

I might have to check this out then. I enjoyed Hayate quite a bit and if this is even remotely similar I should enjoy it. So long as it has some minor comedy relief in it :p

I did, but I felt sorry for her in episode 10. It was all an accident, and yet, she feels guilty for ruining Haruka and Yuuto's relationship.
