Naruto or Naruto Shippuden?

IMO, I think there both about equal when it comes to choosing between them...

This is a tough to decide. Naruto was a very fun and
entertaining show until the fillers came. Naruto Shippuden is a
really exciting show. The plot line seems pretty good, i am really
liking the new moves that are coming up as well. For me i think
Shippuden is better then the first.

I liked both, but im gonna pick Shippuuden. For one, its an automatic step up in maturity level. They stop explaining every single move they make in battles, and take a more serious tone. Even though the pacing with canon material is slow, it is still suspenseful (original Naruto hardly was) and engaging.

Even the filler arc in the new Shippuuden is better. The recent arc was really good and interesting. The past fillers involved childish excursions, and although fun and entertaining, were rather dull and shallow at times. Its like they changed the viewer audience with the introduction of Shippuuden to a slightly older demographic. Maybe to account for aging Naruto fans? Either way, I like the change and am enjoying it. I just hope they pick up the pace with the canon material, pacing has been a lot slower than in the original. A fight would last half an episode, sometimes an entire one. The Sasori showdown was like 12.

And i know when they get back on track this show is going to pick up for a really exciting arc. Cant wait! :)

Naruto was more funny and still good (I didnt watch filler eps, skipped them). But Naruto Shippuuden has a slightly better storyline but they drag the eps way too long (eg. Rescue Gaara arc) so it loses some points a bit there. For now I'd go for Naruto Shippuuden based on storyline (though current and some recent manga chapters are kinda sh*t).

also a tough one for me. i do like that the characters are older and more mature. as far as the story line goes it was more enjoyable in the manga world than in the anime world.i was more into the story line with naruto mostly because i hadnt read the manga for each episode yet. though in the light of things i guess shippuuden has a better story but naruto had much better animation. im actually gonna go with regular naruto on this one because shippuuden drags things out, the music doesnt quite compliment the action like it did in the old days and a story line thats just a little better isnt quite enough for me to enjoy this leg of the anime as much as the last. still close though

I like shippuden a bit better. Yes the story is slower(not sure why they had that long filler only to make episodes 5 minutes long basically. But I do like how they stop explaining things, much less flashbacks, much less believe it or my way of the ninja, more cool attacks, more sharingan attacks, more deaths of good guys

I will go with Shippuden.
It was a lot of action going on.
Even though there are fillers they are still at least better than the other fillers !

I liked pre Shippuden. I think the plot was alot better then. I seriously think its deteriorating as things go on to who has the better omgwtfhax Justsu. Plus whats more fun then Naruto and Sasuke in the same room.

Anime wise it would have to be Naruto just cause of the first 50 episodes being legendary and even on par with the Manga . Shippuden was just a let down, they could of done so well with it and brought back to good Naruto spirit that was killed by the Fillers, but instead they decided to drag near enough every episode out >.<.

naruto, especially the beginning, was awesome. the chuunin exam, the prelims/3rd part, was epic and it really filled in the characters and everything.

memorable parts:
-rescue sasuke arc was flipping amazing until they actually caught up to sasuke
-rock lee v gaara was the BEST.
-first arc, with zabuza, was awesome too
-kakashi kicked ASS in this.

went downhill in the middle of naruto v sasuke (i got tired of all the yelling) and then naruto's depression about sasuke. then fillers started.

shippuuden:
was expecting a lot, didnt come through. i think the animation went down. the sasori arc was great though. but that was about the only good part-- the sasori/sakura fight. after that i started reading the manga and the anime just isnt on par. most of the episodes are actually REALLY BORING.

id go with naruto.

Both are good, i just hate all the filler crap both spew.

Naruto had better story detail and plot development and focus was on tactics

Shippuden focuses too much on power and less on tactics

both are fun to watch though imo, except for fillers, they suck.

I agree with girl though, but i liked the Sasuke vs Naruto fights, they were wicked xD

Shippuden because it is only time that we really get to see him fight :D

But the original was the only time that we got to see Zabuza :( I want to see a Zabuza flashback with Zabuza and Suigetsu

Shippuuden is still relatively young in terms of the plot development. I love it, but IMO it's moving pretty slowly. Pre-Shippuuden was exciting, yeah, but I like how Shippuuden is a maturity step-up (as noted above).

Both series are good .

the first series was more of comedy and the second is more of series and the characters are more rational and mature .

so I like em both . but the animation quality is much better on shippuden .

I like both very much, Shippuden was more of bringing back Sasuke and getting revenge etc. And then there's Pein!!!! hhehehe, But, both brought me a lot of tears and joy and laughter. ^^

Well, I like the Shippuden series more....

Mainly because the first naruto series was filled with bunch of fillers and its kinda dissapoint me....

As for the Shippuden, they are more in the right track and less filler...and Naruto and friends are more mature than in the first Naruto series...I like it.

I personally like both of them but like a lot of people I actually like the Shipuuden series more because sure it's not as funny and cute as before but I like the grown and mature version of all the characters more, take Naruto for example he's grown and doesn't do childish things anymore like pull pranks.
Also I think that the storyline is more exciting when the original Naruto series is just basically a base storyline and introducing everyone, all the moves and explaining it and wasting the time doing all that Shipuuden is a lot more serious.

So Shipuuden is my choice :)

They are the same thing. But to be perfectly honest I did like the naruto in it's arcs as they were kids. But Shippuden anime is hard to tolerate... So I picked up the manga... tbh. I only watch Shippuden if there is a fight scene or what not. Besides that, I can't get through an episode that can be finished with a fight in 5 minutes or less. Or they stare each other down for like the whole episode... yars there is more stuff in manga... newho
