Okay I was just wondering what people are doing in their lives right now like what career are they doing in Uni now or if you don't plan on going Uni etc. What you want to become/your dream job and why. :winking56

Well I'm currently finishing my double major in Chemistry and Biology here in the University of Puerto Rico and for the past three years I've done undergraduate research at the university. It pays pretty good, plus u get your research published. I plan to go to Grad school (Organic Chemistry) and eventually work in R&D for some pharmaceutical company = $$$.

Right now as far as jobs go I am a cashier at a Walmart, a board op for a nationally syndicated radio talk show, and an executive for a super duper hardly heard of still way undergroundish like game production studio. I get paid at Walmart, don't get paid for the radio show but it has its perks (free food from the host (since he doesn't pay me), video games from EA to review, and random crap like that), and I don't get paid for the game studio where I help make decisions, work on artwork, and voice act. Other than all this I am also a college student currently majoring in multimedia/webpage design. I will be getting my associates within the next year, and then attending Uni majoring in either marketing or game design or something like that. My mother still thinks I should take some extra classes and get my teaching certificate, which may not be a bad idea.

Know some japanese right naw But my dreem job would to be a doctor. Oh but right naw im running in an up comming election(in my country, even though im 18). My thought behind this is that if you don't like the people you can vote for vote for yourself cuz you know what you want.

Programmer, nearly 100% sure I'll be one.
First I'll take 3 years in programming, and if I can I'll go to University after that.
I like the title already: Master Programmer

Ahh that neat. I wish I could speak Japanese fluently >_<" My family is like part Japanese and I had a few relatives that spoke it fluently but they are all dead now because commuinist killed them. <_<" Well at least my grand father is still alive but he majored in chinese. He studied Chinese for 37 years >_<" and blah it's cool that families can be so universal?

Anyways it's neat that people are interesting in Langauge, anyways good luck on your major. ^-^"

i'm a security guard - not the most exciting job but pays good for just walking about once an hour for 5 minutes n reading bleach n naruto manga for 8 -17 hours a day. or playing video games depending where i am. i get anywhere from 900 - 1100 a month for doing that too, but its shyt if you want a highly active social life i stick with a undead social life lol.

Sounds like a neat job. I had a job similar to that. I had to basically work as a security guard in a parking lot. Lots of rich guys with beemers and Bens and other cars. They always act like they are better than me. I despised that job. >_>"

I’m an engineer, I work for BAE Systems, they build planes and stuff. My job kind of sucks, I just pilot some simulator and fly missions and stuff.

I dig graves in my spare time, I get paid for it of course but it’s really more of a hobby.

I'm gonna be something involving with computers...
I hope game-programmer or something like that. If I can't build a game as my profession I'll do it as a hobby anyway.
I might need GFX designers though since I suck with grafical work.

And if for some reason I can't be any of those I'll write a book or 5.

anyone capable of writing a book, you have my utmost respect. i started writing one, and now it scares me.... its not a scary story, but to go back and read what i wrote and then think "wait, i wrote this story?" kind of boggles my mind. i would love to see what this group could turn out (those of you who hope to be game designers). i read an article on penny arcade by tycho. he talked about being a gamer, and how the job is obscene. he loves it, but the way he describes it makes me think of karoushi

FYI:
karoushi - japanese word, no direct translation.
definition: death by work-related exhaustion

Humm I think that Japanese word would best describe people trying to get their PhD in Math. You are suppose to solve a math problem that no one else has ever solved before, and well basically you could spend up to 2+ years trying to solve a problem that can't be sloved. A waste of time? I think so.
^-^"

And about people that want to be game programmers it's nothing like playing a video game, just to let you know. Lots of hard work and dedication.

I used to be a nurse in a nursing home (in the dementia unit) on night shift. I liked that job because I was able to help people, but I quit because they didn't pay enough money to live on (and the scheduler was screwing around with my hours). I was able to read manga and eat junk food all night (oh joy!).

But now I'm going to Massage Therapy school and am going to graduate in January. Then I want to work for a cruise line so I can travel around the world! Happiness!
