For Chinese: Billy Kwong is a hugely successful oriental restaurant. A serious commitment to organic and biodynamic produce, knowledgeable, passionate staff and the hum of a bustling Chinese tearoom have made Kylie Kwong’s Surry Hills restaurant a Sydney dining icon. They serve delicious foods such as steamed scallop wontons with Sichuan chilli oil, crisp-skinned duck (sauced with mandarins or plums) and even fried rice. Smoky Mountains
"Most visited of all US National Parks and is on the Tennessee-North Carolina border amid the majestic southern climax of the Appalachian Highlands.
Has hundreds of miles of trails for equestrians. Scenic driving. Look Rock observation tower is a must stop.
Campgrounds are in abundance for those guys who want to just get out and brave the wilderness....Want to rough it? Then this is the place for you...Want to be the star in you own personal Survivor.....? This is the place to do it with plenty of fishing streams. Over 500 of them to be exact that criss-cross the smokies and spill into the Chilhowee Lake" Are you tough enough to handle a place such as this?
Quotes taken from article written by: The Travel Expert: Johnny Malloy
Here's some trivia for you...Did you know? Once the Great Smoky Mountains were known by a different name by the Cherokee. They called it sha-cona-ge, "land of the blue mist" (or smoke). According to the Cherokee legend, people and animals originally lived in the sky and ocean. When the sky became overcrowded, a water beetle was sent to find land but could not, so it dived to the bottom of the ocean and brought up mud to form the Earth. The smokies were formed by a great buzzard whose wings touched the wind, hardening it into the mountain range.

Real Men Cry Like Little Girls
http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i198/shanyetta23/cmdanielcraig.jpg
A man walked into a biker bar. As he made hi way to the counter to order himself a tall one, he noticed a large biker in a dark leather jacket crying while listening to a country song. The man couldn’t help but to chuckle as he took a sip of his beer. The biker looked up, wiped some tears from his eyes, walked over to the man and grabbed him by the collar,
“What you laughing at?” he said pulling the man from his seat.
The man apologized repeatedly and awaited his death.
The biker smiled as the man’s eyes began to fill with tears.
“Ah, ha!” shouted the biker, “You’re more of a man than I thought!”
Whether its “boo-hoos”, whimpers, sobs or full waterworks, crying has been scientifically proven to be beneficial to ones health.
http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i198/shanyetta23/cmjude.jpg
Human beings are the only creatures that shed tears. Even though men like to think that it is only “emotional” ladies, crying is a universal human experience and we understand very little about this mysterious phenomenon. Prolonged stress, traumatic events, loss, pain, loneliness and daily hassles often start the waterworks ‘a flowin’. Also, interestingly enough, people also cry tears of joy, happiness, and relief. Now, scientific studies provide strong and consistent evidence that crying is linked to significant health benefits. So, sit back and listen up men and you will find out why it is good to break down and have a good cry.
http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i198/shanyetta23/man-crying-b.jpg
There are four biological mechanisms that function as triggers that influence the amount of tears we will shed at a given time:1) Genetic Influences
2) Dietary Factors
3) Hormone Levels
4) Circadian Rhythms (more likely to cry if you are lacking sleep) Once the tear switch is flipped it’s still a big “?” about the precise psychological and biological processes that initiate an episode of crying or when it will stop. However, recent biological studies offer good clues to why and how crying is related to health benefits.
A lot of people report that they feel a sense of relief after a good cry. There is a big increase in the number, type, and amount of stress hormones released in our bodies before crying. In fact, tears have been found to contain stress hormones. Stress hormones cause damage to virtually all bodily systems; including serious damage to brain cells and damage to the exact sites capable of reducing or eliminating the release of the toxic stress hormones. Tears help release these stress hormones and relieve the stress that was in your body. Thus, crying is a natural and essential biological function that results in the elimination of stress hormones connected to every imaginable stress related health problem.
http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i198/shanyetta23/robert.jpg
So the next time you make fun of your friend for crying at a sad ending of a movie, or the next time you try to sniff back the tears and make them disappear, remember…CRYING IS GOOD FOR YOU. Stand up and let it flow, afterwards you will feel 10 times better; trust me.
Real men do cry like little girls.

You may have heard of this lovely young woman here on CB and you may have not. For those of you who don't know Shaberry she is one of the lovely ladies of CB with whom i have had the pleasure to talk with. Despite being a total hottie, she is very down to earth and easy to talk to and was actually surprised to be nominated much less win the title of CB's hottest girl of the month of August. But as you all can see she clearly deserves this tittle.
http://i301.photobucket.com/albums/nn47/shaberrycb/smile.jpg
Q&A part (interview)
Chi: Congratulations on becoming the CB babe of the month! How do you feel now that you've risen to prestigious status amongst the men of CB?
Sha: Wow…I really don’t know what to say. Lol. When I received your message I was really surprised…being that there are a ton of prettier and way more popular girls than me in CB. ^_^;;; But after the initial surprise…I’m mainly honored to be chosen as the CB babe of the month ^-^ *peeks around* But I really wonder who chose me in the first place. o.O
Chi: Let's just say there are people out there who find you to be beautiful. What do you have to say to them?
Sha: ARE YOU MENTAL?! Lol…jk. Well…all I pretty much would respond in would be a shy smile and a “thanks for the complement”. ^_^;;;
Chi:Where were you born?
Sha: I was born in the Philippines. ^-^
Chi: would you be able to tell everyone how old you maybe?
Sha: *looks agast* You never ask a lady her age. >.<;;; But if you must know...*cough*23*cough*
Chi: Do you have any special talents or skills that guys find interesting? and if so how did you discover this talent?
http://i301.photobucket.com/albums/nn47/shaberrycb/bedd.jpg
Sha: Ermmm…well…I do have a *cough* special *cough* skill that guys find interesting…but uhmmm…I’m not quite sure that I’m allowed to…yeah. Anyway…next question? ^-^
Chi: ROFL, Okay how about do you have any special skills like playing an instrument or love cooking or model kite maker?
Sha: Well..I do play the piano…but I don’t really play that well. >.<;;; Ohh…but I’m an awesome baker! ^-^ I’ve been told that I bake yummy cookies and pastries. ^-^ But at the same time I kinda regret being able to bake yummy stuff >.<;;; Everyone who’s tasted my baked goods usually stalk me for more >.<;;; Not to mention one time I had to bake 13 cakes in one day for an event. -.-;;; After that I stopped baking for a while >.<;;; It was a really traumatizing event in my life. ;_;
Chi:What do you think is the sexiest thing about you?
http://i301.photobucket.com/albums/nn47/shaberrycb/dress.jpg
Sha: The sexiest thing about me eh? I’d have to say my face. ^-^ Cause I can make sexy faces! Yeah! ^o^ Lol…jk. ^_^;;; But after some consideration…I’d have to say my torso…just cause it’s long…well compared to my legs >.<;;; Wait…did that make sense? o.O
Chi: Not very much but I managed to get it, do you work on keeping up with your torso?
Sha: Yeah…sorry about that…I couldn’t really find any other way to word it -.-;;; But yeah…most of the time I work on keeping up with my…torso. o.O Somehow saying “keeping up with my torso” sounds weird…or maybe it’s just me. *shrug* Anyway…when I’m not being lazy I do 250 situps and 200 crunches a day to keep it looking suitable. ^_^;;;
Chi: What do you find most attractive about a guy?
Sha: I’d have to say the smile. ^-^ In general I would say his face, but if he doesn’t have a nice smile to finish off his features…it won’t work for me. Lol…it’s kinda like he has to have a nice face with that killer smile that makes me want to pounce on him and *rawr*…lol. *blush*
Chi: What do you find most annoying about guys?
Sha: Well in general…I find cocky people the most annoying. >.<;;; It’s one thing to be confident…but it’s another when you’re too full of yourself. -.-;;;
Chi: Well what do you find most appealing in a person?
Sha: Uhmm…hrm… I’d have to say that a persons eye color is what I find most appealing. I’m like one of those scary weird people that stare at you if you have a really pretty eye color. Lol…iono…I have a fetish for really pretty things. Lol.
Chi: The perfect date for you?
http://i301.photobucket.com/albums/nn47/shaberrycb/mickeyhat.jpg
Sha: Geez…this is such a hard question >.<;;; To be honest…I don’t really have a perfect date for me. -.-;;; My date could take me dirt biking in the desert or to a nice restaurant where we would have a candle lit dinner…or to an amusement park ( just not letting me ride the super scary rides >.<;;; )…it really doesn’t matter. *shrug* I’d just imagine it to be the kind of date where my date and I can enjoy each other company and have a really good time. As long as that happens I think it would be the perfect date. ^-^
Chi: So would you say you get a lot of attention from guys?
Sha: *laughs* No…I don’t. I hardly get any to be honest. -.-;;; I’ve asked my guy friends about this issue…and they’ve told me it’s because I look like a guy would need to have something important to talk with me about in order to come up to me. *shrug* I really don’t know.
Chi: What would a guy have to do to get that perfect date with you?
Sha: To be honest…I really don’t know. It just happens. *shrugs* I’m kinda like one of those people who just go with the flow and sees where it takes you. When it comes to dating…I really don’t have any set expectations. I pretty much just go with an open mind and see if it’s something I would like to continue. But I guess for a start…the guy would have to have a charismatic personality and some good looks. ^_^;;;
Chi: Is there anything you'd like the people on CB to know about you?
http://i301.photobucket.com/albums/nn47/shaberrycb/blowing.jpg
Sha: Uhmmm…that I’m a really nice and friendly person so don’t hesitate to talk to me? o.O *shrug* Iono…that’s all I could think of for now >.<;;;
Chi: What are your aspirations for the future?
Sha: Hrm…well currently …my aspirations for the future would be to finish and graduate college…finally start my career…tour the world…and to start building up my anime shrine. ^-^
Chi: Well thank you for taking the time to answer my/our questions and hope you don't pick up too many stalkers XD
Sha: No…thank you. I really enjoyed this interview ^-^ *bows* And once again…thanks for offering me the CB babe of the month status. ^-^

COMING SOON!
The Mummy-Tomb of the Dragon Emperor
August 1st (3.5 out of 5)
http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e205/MatthiasPowerbomb/mummy3_new_poster.jpg
Ok I saw the trailer a multitude of times on tv and before movies, and from what I've seen it looks quite good. I’ve always been a fan of the mummy series and a bigger fan of Brendan Fraiser, so of course I'm going to see this movie. From what I could tell this might not be as good as the original two movies. As most of us know, the 2nd sequel doesn't usually do as well, but we won't know until we see it. I’m giving it a 3.5 out of 5. I hope I'm not giving it to much.
Pineapple Express
August 8th (4.5 out of 5)
http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e348/LegendaryJD12/pineapple_express__movie_poster.jpg
Wow, another movie from the genius of Seth Rogan and company. This movie is about a man who gets high then witnesses a murder and is now running from the murderer and his lackeys. From what I’ve seen in the trailer is looks completely hilarious. I mean pot, guns, running, and humor, it’s a perfect mix. I’m hoping not to be disappointed by Pineapple Express. I’m giving it a 4.5 out of 5 because I know Seth is gonna make another smash hit.
Mirrors
August 15 (4 out of 5)
http://i169.photobucket.com/albums/u220/bearclaw-jb/mirrors/MirrorsPoster1.jpg
Ok, I have not seen much about this movie. It's something to do with a house and anything with a reflection. That’s really all I could pick up from the trailer, yet from what I saw it looked quite interesting. Especially in the first scene when the boy stands up from the mirror and walks off and the kid in the mirror stays where he is. I’m looking forward to see what's going to happen in this new movie, I’m quite excited about it. I’m giving it a 4 out of 5 for its amazing camera tricks with the mirrors.
NEW RELEASES!
Wanted
(4.8 out of 5)
http://i208.photobucket.com/albums/bb248/CooookieCrriisp/wanted.jpg
WOW! This movie was amazing I saw it opening night and just from watching that movie I felt like a badass. Not since the matrix have I had so much fun watching an action movie. Though this movie has nothing to do with technology and stuff like that. This movie is about a guy named Wesley who is the son of a famous assassin and he has the same abilities of his father and follows in his footsteps. The movie was funny, sad, adrenaline pumped action, and kick ass badery and full of treachery and deceit. Also full of twists and turns, but not as major as an M. Night Shanamamamlon movie (I don’t like many of them) I gave it a 4.8 because it was nearly perfect a couple of tiny tweaks and it would have been perfect and I mean tiny tweaks. I’m exited about the extended edition dvd.
The Dark Knight
(5 out of 5)
http://i222.photobucket.com/albums/dd281/robott_rockk/the-dark-knight-1-16001.jpg
Yeah, that’s right I gave it a 5 out of 5 because this movie was perfect; no "ifs ands or buts about it", absolutely perfect. What can I say about this movie it had many bad guys and enemies, like spider-man 3, but it was perfectly spread out and not so mashed together. The joker……WOWWWWWW. I found a new hero I would kill to have the acting ability of Mr. Ledger. Hopefully I could become as good an actor as Heath (If you didn’t know by now I’m an actor myself) but man he was amazing. He was so good in his role that most of the movie you didn’t think “this is an actor playing the joker” but what you thought was “this guy is the real joker”. Reports have said that on set that he changed his entire walking voice persona everything not just onscreen but off too. But I digress, The movie was supreme and amazing and everything you wanna call it. Although it could have ended about 4 times throughout it was still perfect. Here’s to you Heath, Christian and Maggie and everyone who worked in and on this movie and a job well done. You deserve the 5 out of 5.
HELLBOY II
(4 out of 5)
http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s49/crazymerrick/Movie%20Posters/hellboy2.jpg
I’m a comic buff I must say, so when I heard about the second Hellboy I was pretty excited. Even though I gave this movie a 4 out of 5 it doesn’t mean that it wasn’t good, it was great, but it could have been better. 1) it could have been longer, 2) it could have had a better ending (the ending was good but it left to much to the imagination and I hope they make a 3rd to explain some stuff) and 3) we needed a tiny bit more story line. At the beginning was awesome because they showed Hellboy as a child, which was funny cool and cute. But all in all I liked the movie and I anticipate the next one if there is one. So good job on the movie, keep it up, and keep it good Guillermo Del Toro.
OUT ON DVD!!!!!!
The Invisible
(4.5 out of 5)
http://www.wildaboutmovies.com/images_3/InvisibleMoviePoster325.jpg
Now, yes, this is an older movie but its very good. It keeps you guessing. It has twists and turns, pretty much everything you could hope for. I liked the scenario and the scenery was amazing. The camera shots were amazing also. Now one of my favorite things about this movie is how awesome the music fits in with the movie. I’m giving it a 4.5 out of 5 because this is an awesome movie, even though the ending kinda sucks, its still worth the watch.
Be Kind Rewind
(4 out of 5)
http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/ll114/measter_wizzard/2335749765_d08f01526b_b.jpg
Ok everyone is saying this movie sucks, but I like it. Of course I like it because it's by the same person who made "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind", one of my favorite movies ever! The storyline is cheeky and funny I liked it a lot. Jack Black and Mos Def did very good in this movie. I’m giving it a 4 out of 5 because it’s a good movie and has a original plot, but over all it kinda weak.
The Good Girl
(3.5 out of 5)
http://www.moviezoo.dk/images/big/The-Good-Girl-5708758658676-01.jpg
A Jake Gyllenhaal Movie, also with Jennifer Aniston in it and the amazing John C. Reiley! The movie starts off pretty good. It continues the "goodness" until a little bit after the middle then its just kinda gets monotonous and annoying. The ending isn’t very good but it’s still worth a watch if you're a Jake fan. I know I am! So that’s why it got a 3.5 out of 5.
Eternal Sunshine of a Spotless Mind
(5 out of 5)
http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/51FXQSXD7HL._SL500_.jpg
Ok, I love this movie to death! One of the Jim Carrey’s best films EVER! It’s a good serious film with some craziness and hilarity mixed in. It has a bunch of other stars in it but I don’t care who else is in it, I love Jim Carrey not the other stars, lol. So this movie is basically perfect I love every second of it. So go out and buy it…..NOW! Go on go and buy it. This movie totally deserves the 5 out of 5!

Firstly, some trivia.
In England, there were two types of football: rugby football and ***ociation football. The slang term for rugby football was "rugger," and the slang for ***ociation football was "***oc." The word "***oc" gradually evolved into "soccer," which was much easier to say.
When ***ociation football was introduced to North America, gridiron football (the type played by the NFL and in the Super Bowl) was already well established. To avoid confusion, Americans adopted the British nickname "soccer" for the new sport. Same with Australia, in that AFL was also called football.
So you can see why some football enthusiasts are annoyed when you refer to football as soccer, because it's name was derived out of a purely un-football like manner.
To those of you not accustomed to football, or better known as soccer in USA and Australia, the UEFA European Championship is a competition that occurs every four years between all qualified teams in Europe, to determine who is the giant of European football. This competition is basically an exclusive World Cup for Euro and is held in high esteem by all players of European descent.
The favorites for winning this tournament before it’s commencement were of course
Germany
Spain
Netherlands
England
Portugal
Italy
France
The first event of the Euro turned out that one of the favorites, England, failed to even qualify, which was a huge embarr***ment for every England player and fan, considering the talent in their squad, and the rate at which their league is dominating the most prestigious club competition in the world, the Champions League.
Netherlands, Germany, Spain and Portugal all had relatively easy routes to the Quarterfinals, while Italy and France once again struggled to show cl***, France being held 0-0 against Romania while Italy was crushed 3-0 by an overwhelming Netherlands team in opening matches. Spain also started brilliantly, destroying a resiliant Russia, 4-1. Netherlands continued their rampage, shredding France 4-1, while Germany was stunned to lose against a tough Croatian side. Nevertheless the efficient Germans bolstered two wins and made it through to the Quarters, where they met Portugal, who had so far also lost one game, but won two others with a larger margin.
The first quarterfinal was a cl***ic in every respect, the Germans winning, what some would label controversially and progressed to the semi-finals of the UEFA European Championship for the first time since 1996 as goals from Bastian Schweinsteiger, Miroslav Klose and Michael Ballack secured a 3-2 victory over Portugal in Basel. Schweinsteiger, one of the stand out players for Germany in my opinion, is a player to continue watching in future.
In the other Quarter between Netherlands and Russia, one of the upsets of the tournament occurred, where Russians, Dmitri Torbinski and Andrei Arshavin struck in the last eight minutes of extra time to take Russia into the UEFA EURO 2008 semi-finals.
In an eagerly anticipated bout between Italy and Spain, Iker Casillas, the Goal Keeper and Captain of Spain was the penalty shoot-out hero as Spain held their nerve, throwing out the record book to claim a UEFA EURO 2008 semi-final against Russia, prevailing 4-2 on extra-time penalty shoot-out after 120 minutes had failed to produce a goal. Although Gianluigi Buffon (Italian Goal Keeper) saved from Daniel Güiza, Casillas denied Daniele De Rossi and Antonio Di Natale, allowing Cesc Fàbregas to step up and send his side through.
It was definitely a night of the Goal Keepers, doing their jobs to the end – the world’s #1 ranked GK (Buffon) vs world’s #2 (Casillas).
Probably the biggest surprise of the Tournament, Turkey, also punched their way to the quarters, scoring a last gasp winner against Czech Republic in the group stage. They now met the Croatians.
When Ivan Klasnić headed in Luka Modrić's cross with a minute of the overtime period to play, Croatia looked to have their place in Wednesday's semi-final against Germany. However, for the third game running, Turkey sensationally hit back at the death to force the first shoot-out of these finals when Semih Şentürk drove in, with the aid of a deflection, from just inside the area. They went on to win 3-1 on penalties after Rüştü Reçber saved Mladen Petrić's kick following earlier misses from Modrić and Ivan Rakitić. The dream continued for the Turks.
Which meant it was Germany v Turkey in the first semi, and Russia v Spain in the second semi.
A 90th-minute strike from Philipp Lahm sent Germany into the UEFA EURO 2008 final and ended the rally of a valiant Turkey side who were unable to summon one last dramatic equalizer.
Semih Şentürk had already brought Turkey to the brink of extra time with an 86th-minute strike, yet Lahm's finish from Thomas Hitzlsperger's p*** finally flattened the Turks. For once, Turkey had led first, through Uğur Boral's 22nd-minute opener, only for Bastian Schweinsteiger (one of my picks for the tournament as I mentioned) equalised before Miroslav Klose won it eleven minutes from time in a thrilling semi-final in Basel.
Meanwhile, second-half goals from Xavi Hernández, Daniel Güiza and David Silva sent Spain through to a UEFA EURO 2008 final meeting with Germany.
Russia looked strong after scything through the Netherlands in the last eight. Xavi broke the deadlock five minutes after half-time, steering Andrés Iniesta's fine left-wing cross past Igor Akinfeev. Güiza added another with 17 minutes remaining before Silva completed a morale-boosting win for Spain ahead of Sunday's final, their first since 1984.
THE FINAL
Spain became European champions for the second time after Fernando Torres's first-half goal in Vienna proved enough to defeat Germany in the final of UEFA EURO 2008.
Spain had more openings in the early stages of the second half, Lehmann getting the merest of touches to Xavi's low shot before Ramos nearly guided in Silva's drive from the resulting corner. Yet a hint of the threat Germany still posed arrived on the hour, substitute Marcell Jansen and Bastian Schweinsteiger combining for Ballack to shoot centimeters wide. Klose then deflected a Schweinsteiger effort past the post and, in response to Germany's new menace, Spain coach Aragonés introduced Xabi Alonso and Santi Cazorla in place of Fàbregas and Silva. The switches reinvigorated Spain instantly, Lehmann making smart stops from Ramos and Iniesta while Torsten Frings blocked another Iniesta effort on the line.
As the final moved into the last 20 minutes, Spain had had seven shots on goal to Germany's one. In the end, it was Spain who continued to carve out chances as the match reached its conclusion, Marcos Senna narrowly failing to apply the finishing touch to an unselfish header from substitute Daniel Güiza – but the celebrations would not be delayed much longer.
Spain had won their only previous piece of silverware in this competition in 1964 and had not been beyond the quarter-finals of any tournament in 24 years. After a strong start from Germany, seeking a fourth title themselves, Spain were the more dangerous side throughout an entertaining final at the Ernst-Happel-Stadion although it took just one goal – in the 33rd minute, courtesy of Torres's pace, determination and unerring finish – to end their long wait.
CONGRATULATIONS TO THE SPANIARDS

The top scorer of the tournament was David Villa, with a tally of 4, and was tipped to be the player of the tournament after just the first game. But it was Spain midfielder Xavi Hernández who was named the Castrol Player of the Tournament for UEFA EURO 2008 after his displays helped his country to the title. Spain was clearly the best side of the tournament, also scoring the most goals than any other team.
All in all a deserving win for the Spaniards.
My picks for the standout players would have to be:
- For the Germans, Bastian Schweinsteiger. He may not have been leading the team but he definitely showed his talent.
- For the Spanish. Well, where to start. Torres has had a fine season, and it was he who set up Villa’s first goal. Villa, upon scoring his hat-trick in the first game, immediately acknowledged the fact by heading straight for his comrade on the sidelines who had been earlier substituted, to celebrate the goal. Iniesta, Xavi, the forgotten defenders, not to mention C***ilas all have to be named.
The Future
Transfers. Clubs. Focusing more on the top 4 of the EPL.
With the club competitions starting up again the huge news of the summer were the Transfers. The biggest saga of all was whether the currently regarded World Number 1 player in the world Cristiano Ronaldo would make a move from Manchester United, who he had helped to their first Champions League win in 9 years, on the 50th anniversary of the Munich air disaster no less, and their second English Premier League trophy in a row, to the Spanish giants Real Madrid, who have been known to throw their monetary weight around to influence young players in joining their superstar lineup.
Eventually it was announced that Ronaldo would stay at United:
Manchester United are currently attempted to purchase Berbatov from Tottenham Hotspur, seeking to provide themselves with a striker with the ability to finish.
In other news, the Portugal Coach took over for Chelsea, who are still desperate to win the Champions League, having never laid their hands on the prestigious trophy. The coach instantly signed Barcelona play-maker and Portugese star, Deco, adding to an already packed Chelsea squad of ability.
Chelsea also attempted to sign the previous world #1, Kaka, from AC Milan, but the Brazilian appropriately denied a move to the blues.
The much renowned previous Chelsea coach, Jose Mourinho made a move to coach Internazionale, a prestigious Italian club.
A brilliant Arsenal side with potential for great success also made some moves, purchasing Aaron Ramsey and Samir Nasri to name a few. While I was personally sad to see Alexander Hleb make a move to glorious Barcelona.
Among the exits of note were also Flamini, a great move to AC Milan, Jens Lehmann, a long time goal keeper and Gilberto Silva.
Meanwhile, Liverpool signed Eduardo Da Silva and Diarra, two players who will attempt to bring more depth to a recent not so successful Liverpool side.
CB Member’s Opinions.
I also asked a few CB football enthusiasts on their views of the latest competition and future events.
What did you think of the quality & standard of football in the latest Euro 2008 tournament?
Football at its absolute best. High tension drama, late equalizers, late winners, penalties; everything you'd want from an international tournament. The matches were played without h***le, and the tournament was organized extremely well. Something I've seen messed up quite a few times in the past, but was done without flaw this time. A&S really showed the rest of the world how to host a tournament, and Europe really showed the world a damn good show.
Did Spain deserve the win?
I can't say they didn't. From day 1 they were dominating left, right and center. I remember Villa's hat-trick when they destroyed Russia in their opening game, and that had set the pace for their entire run in the tournament. There wasn't a single match in which they looked on the back foot, and even against the current World Champions they had them under control for pretty much all of the match.
GG Spain.
Who did you hope to see win?
From the beginning, I was backing the Dutch. They had pace, they had power, and I thought this year van Basten had finally been able to put some of those attributes together and create a damn good winning team. The group stages were almost flawless for them, beating both World Cup finalists with some ease. But in true Dutch spirit, they completely lost it in their quarter-final against the Russians. Taking nothing away from them though, they did play an excellent game.
After I saw the Dutch crash out, I have to say it was Turkey that captured my heart. From the second Cech fumbled the ball I was gripped to Turkish football, and the winner from Nihat only fueled my desire for them to win. I was almost heartbroken when Klasnic scored so late, but Senturk showed me why luck coincides so nicely with skill. It was then a long shot for them to beat the Germans, but this wasn't me supporting the better team, or even with a clear head, who might have had a chance of winning, it was simply supporting who played the better viewing football; and Turkey took that title by miles.
Who was, in your opinion, the most standout player?
Hmm. I've got to go with Fabregas (and in no way is that related to which team I support : P). He made such an impact in every game he played for the Spanish, and I can't believe he wasn't playing from the start. Even though Villa seemed to have everything under control when he wasn't in play, it was his performances in the semi-final and final that have led me to calling him the MVP. Spain's movement just seemed so much more fluid on the field with him at the heart of it, y'know?
Who was your favorite player?
My favorite player had to be Sneijder. Whether or not he may have made a few mistakes in the Q-final against Russia, in every other game he was one of the key figures, and almost always converted from solid p*** to solid goal. It was like his club career, only on the bigger stage. The Q-final though... Everyone has their bad days =/. But still, a cl*** player all round.
Favorite moment of the tournament?
Senturk equalising in the 120th minute. Bloody well gave me a heart attack.
Onto the clubs. Which team do you support?
Arsenal for life, yo.
Who do you tip to win the next Champions League?
I'm going to go with a safe bet and say an English side. They're packing some serious heat now, and confidence can only go up from their recent all English final. If they play to form, I don't see why it couldn't be another all English.
Player to watch in the future?
Carlos Vela. I've seen him play and train, and I'll tell you that he's got some mad skills. He can shoot, p***, dribble; looks like just what any team would need. He's finally got his shot at open glory, so I'd expect a lot from him.
Any other comments?
COME ON YOU GUNNERS. That is all : D.
What did you think of the quality & standard of football in the latest Euro 2008 tournament?
I thought Euro 2008 was a m***ive success. I'm English so obviously I was hugely disappointed that we weren't going to be represented this year but instead of being miserable about it I decided to watch the tournament as a neutral and just hope there was plenty of excellent football on display, I certainly wasn't disappointed.
Did Spain deserve the win?
Oh absolutely, early in the tournament I was anticipating a Holland/Spain final, I initially thought Holland would go all the way as I thought they were the better side coming out of the group stage but after watching Spain come alive in the KO rounds It was never in any doubt for me, they were the complete package.
Fantastic p***ing, vision and creativity is what Spain are known for but they've always underperformed thanks to lackluster defending. I have to say defensively they were the best team in this competition. Senna was an absolute joy to watch, he was tenacious and his anticipation of the ball was wonderful, I don't think I've seen someone cut so many p***es out in my life.
I don't think there is a team in the world that could have coped with Spain this year, they were a complete footballing side, I fancy them to win the World cup if they can keep the core of that squad together.
Who did you hope to see win?
After several Industrious and spirited performances I had hoped to see Turkey do a Greece and shock everyone just for the never say die attitude they had, obviously it wasn't to be but I think they were hugely enjoyable to watch just because you never knew what to expect next, I think if Nihat had not been injured the Semi final may have been a different story.
Who was, in your opinion, the most standout player?
I'd say David Silva, he went into Euro 2008 with a reputation as an exciting prospect and came out a very accomplished player.
He is very exciting to watch and with his energetic running and creative style of football he really stood out for me.
Who was your favorite player?
Although there were several players playing very attractive football throughout the tournament, I felt Marcos Senna was the best. He quietly operated in front of the defense but he was key to Spains success for me, he was the linchpin of the entire team and he helped keep the back four and the midfield linked together and functioning at a good pace thanks to his calm head and eye for an interception. He repeatedly broke down his opponents attacks and helped Spain play some very good counter attacking football.
Favorite moment of the tournament?
Semih scoring for Turkey with the last kick of the game to take it Croatia to penalties, some of the Croatia staff were already celebrating before he lifted it into the net!
Onto the clubs. Which team do you support?
Manchester United :biggrinki
Who do you tip to win the next Champions League?
If we get another striker like we are supposed to be, a more natural finisher, then I see absolutely no reason why Man united can't win it again this year.
I'd also say keep an eye out for Chelsea again, they've not lost any key players and they've added a couple of marvelous players to the squad with Deco and Bosingwa.
Real Madrid will also be there or there about if they keep Robinho.
Player to watch in the future?
I'd say watch Bosingwa become one of the most acclaimed defenders in the world.
Prepare for Carlos Tevez to have a magnificent season.
As far as youngsters go, Marvin Emnes looks like a talented player, little Freddie Sears could shine at West Ham as well if he gets enough football.
I want to say Fraiser Campbell but I don't know how much he's really going to play, he's definitely got some ability.
Any other comments?
One final thought would be that we can brace ourselves for a very exciting year, a lot of sleeping giants are taking steps to make some big challenges, Tottenham come to mind in that respect. It's not just the Premier league though, this sort of thing is being emulated everywhere. This promises to be one of the most exciting years in recent times and I for one cannot wait for the big kick off.
What did you think of the quality & standard of football in the latest Euro 2008 tournament?
Aside from the disappointment that some of the most popular teams like France and Italy displayed in the tournament, I thought the tournament brought about some very good football to the audience.
Did Spain deserve the win?
Yes, they most certainly did. They were on top of their game in all of their matches.
Who did you hope to see win?
Either Spain or Germany. I'm a tad biased towards Germany given that they are my favorite team and all, but I genuinely wanted Spain to win because of their very well presented skill.
Who was, in your opinion, the most standout player?
Hmm... I thought Schweinsteiger was spectacular. It was mainly due to his efforts that Germany was capable of making it to the finals.
Who was your favorite player?
Look above for more info :).
Favorite moment of the tournament?
Ballack's goal against Austria. Superbly executed free kick. Absolutely flawless :).
Onto the clubs. Which team do you support?
I don't follow clubs and leagues really, but I've always like Manchester United more than any of its peers.
Who do you tip to win the next Champions League?
Again, don't know much about that so sorry =/.

For decades, two heroic statues, one male and one female, faced each other in a city park, until one day an angel came down from heaven.
"You've been such exemplary statues," he announced to them, "That I'm going to give you a special gift. I'm going to bring you both to life for thirty minutes, in which you can do anything you want." And with a clap of his hands, the angel brought the statues to life.
The two approached each other a bit shyly, but soon dashed for the bushes, from which shortly emerged a good deal of giggling, laughter, and shaking of branches. Fifteen minutes later, the two statues emerged from the bushes, wide grins on their faces.
"You still have fifteen more minutes," said the angel, winking at them.
Grinning even more widely the female statue turned to the male statue and said, "Great! Only this time you hold the pigeon down and I'll crap on it's head."

An Amish boy and his father were visiting a mall. They were amazed by almost everything they saw, but especially by two shiny, silver walls that could move apart and back together again. The boy asked his father, "What is this, Father?" The father [never having seen an elevator] responded "Son, I have never seen anything like this in my life, I don't know what it is."
While the boy and his father were watching wide-eyed, an old lady in a wheel chair rolled up to the moving walls and pressed a button. The walls opened and the lady rolled between them into a small room. The walls closed and the boy and his father watched small circles of lights with numbers above the walls light up. They continued to watch the circles light up in the reverse direction.
The walls opened up again and a beautiful 24-year-old woman stepped out. The father said to his son, "Go get your mother."

We want to keep this up. However, due to the changes of Gotei 13, I'm not certain when the next issue will be released.
As of right now, since it was my idea, i will take Ai suggestion and merge/collaborate with CBNL if they are willing to accept it that is.
Perahaps we may still be able to see it as a divisional project should it need to.

08-21-2008, 05:36 PM

Huh... In my opinion, you sure get the DC position. But it's up for them to decide. Well, you can apply for the CBNL editor's job now. I hope the other CBNL editors don't mind about hiring you. lol.
i applied, but i was asking if your going to rejoin the division? :p

Depending on the outcome of this "drama" how about we ask if Animus have its own usergroup? I hope we all get back onto the 2nd division but if not we could ask them to do this for us.

That's true, at least then it would be something separate from CBNL.

Lady Ushio
08-22-2008, 02:33 AM
I probably don't want to go in a division, anyway.
About the sub-forum, I think it's a good idea too, but I really prefer the merging.
