The episode 165 title is supposedly "naruto shisu" which roughly translates to "Naruto's Death" so that may be the way they're gonna put naruto on the back burner and foucus on Kakashi for a while

Just to tell you Kakashi Gaiden isnt a filler. Its just a flashbgack arc. Its essential to the storyline. Skipping it would be like skipping the one piece flashback epys.

Filler as in it is not part of the main storyline. It may become important later (I think Tobi is Obito) but as of yet, it has had no bearing on our main storyline.
