Suddenly, I've been having a message pop up saying that i'm running low of virtual memory. First of all, WHAT IS VIRTUAL MEMORY :eek13: And how do I regain my virtual memory back? Do I have to uninstall alot of programs or something? I've never had this happen to me before... *crys inner tears*

I guess thats your RAM. If not, then its the "back up memory in your HD (pagefile I think)." Which means you need more space. I'm not even sure, super tired

It's the ram, we've had that problem before, might want to get rid of some background programmes... like useless stuff running there.. our computer is REALLY slow on loading... we use too much ram when we have it on

Well, it's your ram as they said. First off, when you start you computer you probobly hav ea lot of useless stuff running. Click Start, go to Run. In the box, type in "msconfig" without the quotations. Click on the last tab (Says startup) and uncheck everything you don't need. If you have a firewall or anything running, then don't uncheck it cause' you probobly need that to keep naughty people out. This won't damage you're computer or anything, just keep it nice and clean. And it'll help boot up speed a lot as well ^^. Good luck!

^ Heh thats what I thought. Once you nuke your current ram, window uses its virtual memory to help ease the stress :x.

Yeah, but free up the regular RAM and it doesn't need to use Virtual anymore :P

*sigh*

Rightclick My Computer > Properties > Advanced > Performance > Settings > Advanced > Virtual Memory > Change

Here, select your harddisk then type in 4096 then press set. Make sure you have more than 4096 mb free on your HD.

If it's already at 4096 then you need more ram.

Isn't that a little too much to set, Raven? Shouldn't you only set your virtual memory to only about twice as much as you have on your CPU? Like if you have 512, you should set it to 1024 or something like that. Mines at 724 - 724 and I have 512 ram, and it seems to be working fine for me.
