Perhaps it explains this later on, (or perhaps I just missed it) but what is the difference between Reiryoku and Reiatsu? They're both defined as spiritual energy. If anyone knows I'd appreciate it.

I believed reiyoku was the whole spiritual strenght of someone, and the reiatsu the amount of reiyoku used at a given moment...
May be a mistake, too.

Actually, Reiryoku are the spirit threads that appear... Example Ishida found out that Ichigo was a shinigami by the help of reiryoku (red in color)... Reiatsu is what is defined as spiritual energy...
so reiryouku is the ID card of the Reiatsu?

Reiryouku is actually the pure spirit energy that's in a person.Reiatsu kinda like in DBZ the powerlevel. You can use it as a term to compare Reiryouku.

in ep. 61 Aizen says the word Reiryoku when talking about the special gigai that Urahara made for Rukia. He said that the special gigai he made for her took away her reiryoku. The "spirit threads" are reiraku, which is a different word. I just wondered if it meant something different than reiatsu or if there was just two words that meant the same thing.

yeah reiryoku is definitely the spirit threads as opposed to reiatsu being the energy.
