I'm not sure if this was posted anywhere during the period it showed up but what do the points below our avatars represent?

I understand that, but what do the points count toward? Or is it just some pointless thing? Pun not intended.
You can use it to buy modifications for yourself eg a longer avatar limit. Only way to gain points is through the Gotei 13 members.

can divs have points as part of their rewards for div projects?
and if we do, the points will be taken from our own accounts or just given?

We most likely will fund your project rewards and you captains will distribute the points to your members

Points can't be used as any old regular transactions like the previous vBux system?
You know, how we could use it as a currency to pay for GFX requests and such.

Can only be earned through Gotei 13. The main stash of points is with the Central 46. It will not be unlimited like the vbux days. When someone spends their points onto the shop, the c46's stash will be refill with that amount.
You can use the points for anything outside the shop like a Signature request.
We may implement a system to encourage spending if someone decides to just stockpile them
can someone clarify the thanks thing too?
maybe there should be an announcement about these new systems
The thanks is just saying thanks. Its like rep, sort of. It doesnt require you to make a spammy post to thank them for whatever they did
The system isnt fully implemented and most captains should already know this system was going to be installed soon anyway via Captain Corner

Can people start up other ways to earn money? Like a company or something weird like that, and use it to get people to pay them in return for a service?

Yes you can but it is difficult probably. One of the best way is to fulfill GFX Requests.
People with points can be creative with it. Like hosting a mini contest as a prize etc
Just because all the points are in c46 doesnt mean we wont host special events for the regular members of the forums

So far the only way to get them at first is the division then you spend them on things and then they go back to C46

I think threads like that are the biggest reason that the Thanks system was added. Most of the time it's just:
Member A: I want _________
Member B: here you go: <insert link>
Member A: Thanks, you are great.
As you can see, the third post was completely unnecessary so no people can just add thanks.

Securities issue, exploits & vulnerabilities, author is not even updating it and its not free =P. This system is not finalized like I said though

I seem to recall the vbux system itself is not compatible with this version of vBulletin. Which the idiots said was why we'll "never have a currency system again" :rolleyes:

That would require downgrading the forum system, which opens up the entire forum to being hit with lots of vulnerabilities, bugs and security issues that later versions fix, plus the vbux system itself has "Securities issue, exploits & vulnerabilities".
CB would turn into a walking glitch, ready for someone to exploit everything.

I closed this thread. It's not a discussion as to "vBux is better, bring it back" or so on.
The question has been answered pretty thoroughly for the moment. When the Points system is completely ready, there will be a Points FAQ.
The current shop sucks, so we are recoding it. What you see now is a lie. :)
