Another Theory

I was thinking. You remember how Renji & Rukia were kids and Rukia was more talented in spiritual energy and what not compared to him. What if she's actually the stronger one? I dunno. I just thought of this on the spot. It just ran by my head.

However, the storyline can bend cant it. What rank was Rukia before she met Ichigo? She was just a normal Shinigami in 13th squad wasnt she? So it stands to reason that she will not be as powerful as Renji, him being a vice captain and all.

Also maybe she was better than him at blasting things, but then Hinamori is better than Kenpachi at blasting things too.

Anyone going to press that Hinamori is better than Kenpachi? If you do I'll cry.

Maybe at first Rukia's spiritual energy was stronger then Renji at first, but you know that Renji trained extremely hard and surpass her in the process

If I remember correctly Byakuya talked with the other captains to exclude Rukia from the officer promotion candidacy for being a seeted officer so she would not be burdened with the more dangerous missions.

Also, we still havn't seen rukia's bankai yet but in the manga she has reliesed her zanpaktou and it kicked some serious a$$ Reliese word = Whirl

Appearance = An all white sword w/ what looks like a white ribbon attached to the bottom of the hilt

Rukia was also trying to save Ichigo when she got her ass chewed up by the hollow... there was no strategy involved and it was reckless and full of emotions. so in turn you and I for that matter would think shes a weakling. Look at Ichigo....reckless as hell but so powerful it negates itself and I think if Rukia were to go all out and focused she would pwn some pple. Shes very smart and cunning she seems to be extremely good with spells and such so even if her swordsman ship is just slightly above Par her Spells probobally make her well above average.

As anbucleric said, the only reason why she never got into higher ranks was because Byakuya was trying to protect her.

i dont think it was that rukia was weak, in one of the earlier episodes were ichigo fights renji in soulsociety renji says that he is much stronger now because wen he went to the human world all shinigamis get their powers reduce by like 5 or something so that probly happened to rukia too

That, among a few other things restricted her powers.
