I was just wondering, what rank was Rukia in Gotei 13? I think she was non seated, but I cant remember properly. This does seem likely though cos she got whooped by a single weak ass hollow trying to defend Ichigo in episode 1. Could someone please tell me.

she also joined a captain (forgot his name) and her love (fogot his name as well :o ) to go fight a sick as hollow. I mean you got to be strong to join such a team doesn't it?

She is a non-seated shinigami, meaning she isn't an officer.
I think the fact that Rukia joined the team meant that she was the only one with Ukitake and Kaien, apart from Sentarou and Kiyone, who were ordered to draw back and tell everyone about it. Gotta take a look at the manga again...

She has a special seat as the family of the Kuchiki clan. She doesn't need to be a seated officer, she get to hangout with Byakuya so obviously they intend to train her to become a captain.

Well in the manga.. She knows the name of her sword andbeat an arrancar, which supposed to be very powerful...

Rukia is like SUPER AWESOME in the manga. She had this super ice-zanpakuto and kicked the weakest arrancar's ass (does that mean anything? :D)

Rukia's a member in the 13th division..that's all i know..but so far..she's juz a noble in the kuchiki family..since byakuya-sama has vowed to protect rukia-chan for hisana-sama..so i guess byakuya himself will sure train her himself to become a great captain someday..hmm...maybe...Rukia-chan will be the 5th division captain after Aizen betrayed the whole SS..who knows..juz a simple guessing..ehehe...

Oh yeah, I just realized something. You can't really compare Rukia's true power with the amount that the Soul Society allowed her to use in Episode 1. The Soul Society always prohibits shinigami from using their true capabilities when they go down to the earth.

but isn't that only for shinigami that are of a vc rank or higher?

i don't think she's even seated.... but they said something about ...
how she could have been a seated officer, but she iznt because byakuya wanted to protect her. because once you get seated you have more dangerous tasks so he made sure she never got seated. but she could have been in a very high seat too.. i think.. since she has shikai and all...
and yea i think they only limit it when it's VC or higher. i don't think rukia is that weak because some people say it was because rukia was distracted and also leads to the theory that ichigo looks like kaien so she just threw herself in front of him and got all torn up .. and yea... and plus there had to be a problem like that.. or else there wouldn't be bleach

RUKIA is the toughest female character in the show.
Cool theory, too bad that she didnt have the special gigai nor the Hougyoku in her in that moment.
Urahara choose her because she lost her powers. He wouldnt have put the Hougyoku in her if she could have gone back to SS.

well i dunno about her rank, but i do know that sh looks like a powerful shinigami. and i think that she'll kick ass in the later anime eps cause of all the trouble ichigo and all went through to save her, she must be ver powerfull

and I am fairly certain she isn't seated. In one of the new Mangas, it says she had the capabilities, but was held back by the family

she was pretty much owned by a hollow so her rank prolly wasnt that high.
