Byakuya VS Ichigo

Alright.

Here's a thing that I've been thinking about for a while. OK, remember that battle between Byakuya and Ichigo? No, not the first one, but the one on the 'Execution Hill' (sorry, forgot the name). Now, I don't know about everyone else but.. do you think, that if Ichigo's Hollow Side hadn't interfered, he could have defeated Byakuya or would have failed miserably?

I personally think that Ichigo would have probably..failed miserably. Hate to be so harsh but Ichigo was slightly on the losing side when he was fighting Byakuya. Hmm, not sure about everyone else, but that's just my opinion. I suppose if Ichigo could have gathered up enough energy, strength and determination, he could have defeated him. COULD HAVE. I don't know. But anyway, please post your opinions.

Domo arigatou gozaimasu! (to whoever that reads this, or whoever that replies)

Ichigo is damn lucky - His hollow side saved his ass so badly.

Byakuya almost weren't injured and ichigo couldn't move his body at all.. if the strike that his hollow side took didn't got blocked Ichigo would probably be dead

lol, actually, Ichigo didn't lose, he could have won Byakuya at first, just that he was playing around with him wanting him to use Ban Kai, then you might say, Byakuya isn't serious too. then how about the 2nd "miracle"? after Byakuya used his Ban Kai, Ichigo still manages to go behind him, and wounded him, obviously he can kill but he didn't. but putting these 2 aside, i think the answer is unknown to us currently

Both powered up to there fullest potential Byakuya is better(not counting hollow Ichigo). Byakuya's true form of senbonzakura kageyoshi was too much Ichigo who had just gotten his bankai and didn't know how to use it yet. In the end, he would have failed the same way Renji did but putting up a better fight. If Ichigo had mastered his bankai(including pacing himself so he doesn't get worn out) then the battle would have a different outcome.

Well when Ichigo first released his bankai, Byakuya seemed to be astonished and Ichigo disappeared and put his zanpakutoh on Byakuya's throat... Till then it seemed that Ichigo had the upper hand... Soon after releasing his Senkei, Byakuya overwhelmed Ichigo and if the fight continued like that Ichigo would've been owned badly... So really its a matter of circumstance here... Overall though Ichigo is weaker than Byakuya... No doubt about it...

TO answer the question, Ichigo would have lost if the Hollow side didn't come out. Ichigo was parallyzed and started to black out. Byakuya was in control of the fight after showing true form of his Bankai.

BUT ICHIGO'S ATTACK AND BYAKUYA's MOST POWErFUL BANKAI ATTACK WITH ALL THE SENKEI SENBONZAKURA KAGEYOSHI BLADES COMBINED WAS CUT BY ICHIGO FAIR AND SQUARE! so....ichigo has a more powerful attack or an even one

I personally think that senkei senbonzakura kageyoshi can do alot more then Byakuya did with it, I think he was just being a pompous ass. I remember he says somthing like "don't worry, i won't attack you with all the swords of senkei senbonzakura kageyoshi" If he could, theoreticly cause all of those blades to stab one target, I think he could beat alot of people.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure he could. Psh, he could move one sword at a time...I'm sure he could have used all the swords at once and killed Ichigo so fast.

But when it comes down to it, Ichigo could have won in the first place. If he hadn't removed his sword from Byakuya's throat, he would have chopped Byakuya's head off.

But that would ruin the story =)

Mm .. I still think Byakuya is the stronger among the two . It might not be a huge power gap , but Byakuya is definetly stronger .

He was in control of the fight after releasing Senkei , and he hardy sustained any injuries while Ichigo is getting cut here and there , and thus , slowing his movements down by a lot .

And as for the final attack , the White Imperial Sword or something , I think Byakuya is just a little too exhausted to bring out it's full potential . I mean , when the hollow side of Ichigo came into play , he kinda messed Byakuya up with all those Kuroi Getsugas and what not .

So yeah , that justifies my point . Byakuya is still the stronger one . Logically speaking , he should , considering his age and Ichigo's in comparison .

fact: ichigo won
if were gonna start with all the "if"s then wut if ichigo wasnt so cocky then he couldve killed byakuya twice!! and what if byakuya wasnt from a noble family did you ever think of that, then he wouldnt have such a high reiatsu (atleast not higher than ichigo)

Actually, both of them were careless..needless to say, Ichigo had the upperhand in their fight because Byakuya had not the slightest idea on Ichigo's ability...Ichigo was stupid to have let his guard down and provoked him instead when he was already winning...

the main point is that ichigo won and yes if his hallow side had not interfierd he would have failed byakuya was slowing ichigo down so yes he could have killed him no doubt about that

I agree with everyone cuz theres fact and I see where everyones comming from. But Also realize that Like sandal hat said Ichigo needs Training....In Bankai Ichigos OWN power was killing him His own pressure was tearing him apart....i have reason to believe that Ichigo and his hollow side at that are using the very tip of the Iceberg of the Bankai power that they just gained access too....the hollow part just is flat out a better fighter and is not scared to cut or be cut so to speak...that was the only difference if you think about it...the same amount of power was being used but the hollow side made way better use of it. But back on subject...if Ichigo would have killed Byak at the very begining of the scence he would have been fine but other than that Byak had the great advantage.

At least everyone understood that Byakuya's appearance "i am elite and you are just a gnat" wasnt for show only. He must be one of the strongest in Gotei13, else he wouldnt be so arrogant. So, Ichigo had his chance, but didnt wanted to kill his opponent, BUT Byakuya did wanted that. In the end Hollow side was very powerfull, stopping sword with bare hands as it was a stick; everyone screaming "Hey, Aizen stopping shikai/bankai, bare handed, hes just AWESOME!!!", forgetting that Ichigo in mask did that just as easilly, and Senkei was also a Bankai. IMO NoName is WAY above captains level.

Erm .. the sword that Hollow Ichigo stopped was just a part of the bankai . The bankai itself is the whole black dome thingy , together with the 1000 swords ( Or so Byakuya says ) surrounding the dome .

The sword Ichigo stopped is but one small part of Byakuya's bankai , whereas , wut Aizen stopped is Ichigo's bankai itself . Er .. get my drift ? Even I'm a lil confuse with myself .

Anyway , yeah , there's the fact that Ichigo won , but again , if people don't start threads like this , the forum would be empty . Speculations is fun after all =) .

But I do agree that both had a certain amount of pride in em , as in not killing their opponent straight off when they had the chance . If Ichigo had taken his chances , Byakuya would have been dead . But again , if Byakuya decided to aim for Ichigo with all of his 1000 swords , there's no way Ichigo could get out of it alive as well .

So .. yeah . Have fun speculating .

Id like to mention the fact that If you totally outclass your opponent you will shatter their sword and also the whole spirit pressure thing.... Ichigos was killing himself....Aizen Smoked Renjis sword even though it was at base Aizens Shikai totally outclassed Renjis....Ichigos Shikai form even without Zangetsu totally smoked Soi Fons VC Ohmaeda Marechiyo Shikai. So in relative Terms Zangetsu's max power badly injured VS Byaks max power badly injured Ichigo still destroyed the sword but thats not with his hand...i guess wat im trying to get at is Aizen may have stopped Ichigos sword but whereas he could have totally broke it he didnt. Wether he didnt care or maybe he didnt have enough power with his bare hands to compete with that. This is all assuming that going from Base to Shikai not only makes the sword stronger but the Holder of the sword as well.

I think Ichigo would have probably failed. As you can recall, his hollow mask saved him from death before, (like the fight with Renji) i believe that hollow-Ichigo saved him yet again. Before hollow-Ichigo stepped in, normal Ichigo was definately about to lose or die. Hollow-Ichigo seems much much more wiser battle-wise (eg. the 'black getsuga' and spinning the sword by the strap (first seen in Ichigo's inner sideways world))
