That Byakuya guy, I believe he is the strongest because he took hardly no effort to defeat Ichigo when he fought with him and Renji didn't do too well against Ichigo. The strongest Squad is the 11th one because a guy on ep 26 said "I'm 5 seat in the 11 squad which is the strongest" so the captian of the 11th squad is the strongest ;). Im going according to the Anime, I haven't read much of the Bleach manga.

The 11th squad captian is Zaraki Kempachi the dude with the eye patch and the hell wiked spikey hair, he is the strongest(I think) ;).

Soul society years are a lot slower than human years. (Example would be like, 10 soul society years = 1 physical year. so in 10 years a soul would age physically by one age. Sorry if this is confusing XD.)

we don't know exactly HOW many SS years = one physical age, but if you look at Rukia, Renji, Ichimaru, and Matsumoto when they were little, they're well over 100 now. So Hitsugaya isn't necissarily a kid, he could be anywhere from 20 - 40 (maybe even 50 - 70.)

I have to backtrack and see if they mention character ages anywhere. Then me and my friends could do the math and figure out how souls age.

It'd be a hard call. Genryuusai is a possiblity, havn't seen him in action. Byakuya is fairly skilled but i wouldn't necissarily call him strong since his Shi Kai and Ban Kai are horrifically cheap. Zaraki Kenpachi is flat out the strongest shinigami by natural skill because he doesn't communicate with his Zanpakutou, hence no Shi Kai or Ban Kai.

However, if we include Shi/Ban Kais, I might have to say Aizen could very well be the strongest (i'm not too clear on his move, but it sounds really powerful). Not strongest physically, but tactically. Followed by Byakuya

I think that the strongest Captain is Aizen because he can hypnotize anyone(even captains and the soul scociey 44 rulers). Ichimaru Gin seems strong as well because he can just destroy nearly everything with his Shoot him dead Shinso.

Aizen Sosoke, the captain with the glasses is the stronget. He grabs Renjies Zampakuto with 2 fingers and throws it away, he moves way faster then Byakuya and posssibly even might have more technique then kenpatchi, but for sure he can POWN! kenpatchies ass any day(make you attack your own friends with his absolute hypnosis ability). So moral of the day is WATCH OUT FOR NERDS there a lot stronger then you think.

If the captains would be to battle it probably wud be aizen or that really old guy might have mad skills.

but apparently he wears a eye patch not because he's blind. It's to suck up his excess spiritual energy. AND whats more he became a captain without examination. he simply beat the captain b4 him without making use of any kai or ban kai...he's quite interesting..

4. Byakuya ( Only becouse of his level of mastery with Ban kai)
5. Zaraki Kenpachi (Could easely become #1 if leaned to realease his zanpaktu)

Yes but at the end of the day we don't know who killed Aizen, not for fact anyways. Kenpachi is the strongest undoubtedly, but that is only by Raw Strength which to a Shinigami is nothing. I think that because of the way the its done it is very hard to tell who is the strongest, because the captains are fighting different people...i mean Mayuri fought Ishida, but how strong is Ishida in comparison to Ichi.

Aizen is the strongest. He's been taking captains bankai out with just his shikai. With Ichigo (and perhaps Hitsugaya), he didn't even need shikai, he just slaugthered him with his normal sword.

After him would probably come Genryuusai. He's the first general implying him to be the strongest. And he took on 2 captains at once that both possessed nitoryu.

After the old dude would perhaps be either Ukitake, Shunsui and Byakuya. Not sure who is stronger than who here.

Normally, people that use nitoryu are viewed to have greater strength than normal (because of Miyamoto Musashi). Genruusai even said their skills are above the rest.

As for Byakuya, he is the most talented ever from the Kuchiki house and also the most famous captain. And the kuchiki house is the leader of the great 4.

Next up would be Zaraki, Gin and Hitsugaya. Zaraki is definately not the strongest, but i do think that he has the most potential out of all the 13 captains. Gin's strength is unknown, but he's atleast at this level. Hitsugaya is also up there.

5) Kenpachi - He took on Two Ban Kai Captains. Yeah, he owns.
6) Byakuya - The Flower Display is mesmerizing.... and downright the sex.
7) Soi Fong - She's fast and strong, don't mess with her two-hit KO. But the ones above her have a higher Reiatsu.
8) Gin (Fox Boy) - Well, his sword is strong. Probably could've beaten Hitsu.
9) Hitsugaya - Hyourinmaru! It's strong!
10) Komamura (Pseudo Fox Boy) - He withstood longer than Tousen.
11) Tousen - Too much of a pacifist.
12) Unohana - She could be a fighter, we never know. At least she's better than Mayuri

I think people meant that Zaraki has more strength and endurance and physical abilities then Byakuya. But Byakuya is faster and has shikai and bankai. Just because Zaraki is stronger, doesn't mean he is better or will be Byakuya.

While some people may have doubts about yama being very powerful, in the next few episodes we should see some things that might change your mind. I also think that zaraki would make it to 2nd or 3rd on that list if he knew how to use his shiki and bankai, the fact that he has so much spiritual energy and hasnt unlocked the full power of his zampaktao is almost frighting when you think of what he could do in bankai form :P

You say X captain is the strongest, but most of you people are basing it on what has been seen.

The abilties and power of each captain/vice captain is a mere scratch on the surface of it all. But based on what happens you can be sure that:

Aizen is extermely deadly. It doesnt matter what kinda strength you carry, his Hyponosis is just cheap.

Yamamoto Genryuusai Shigekuni (1st Div) - just because he looks old, doesnt mean he isnt strong (this guy is scary).

But my list would be

1st - Yamamoto & Aizen (tied for 1st)
3rd - Kyouraku Shunsui
4th - Ukitake Juushiro
5th - Soi Fong
6th - Kuchiki Byakuya
(edited list, as i forget about Soi, she is most likely faster then Byakuya =P)

Now everyone seems to go on that Kuchiki is so fast cause of Shyunpa...uh most of the Vice Captains and Captains can use this >_> it was shown today that 8th captain can make great strides with his Shyunpa in one step. Also just because Renji couldnt dodge Kuchiki Byakuya moves, doesnt mean that it makes him the strongest. I am pretty sure their are counters to Kuchiki moves (hint hint).

Well I beleive that all the captain can be ranked in terms of strength in diffrent areas. Because some captains like unohana of the 4th squad probably would not fair too well in an all out battle. If we go off of battle skills i would say the top three would be
1 Yamamoto
2 Byakuya
3 Unitake ( His lazyness suggests strength )
4 Kenpachi
5 Hitsugaya

@captain_soifon - I think your spoiler is not correct, Aizen is a captain because he was put as a captain. He is a traitor at the end when everyone finds out, but he is still a captain making him still one of the strongest people.

@Ti1301 - Byakuya is stronger than Zaraki. Byakuya is in another league in level compared to Zaraki. Ichigo fought Zaraki and defeated him without bankai. Ichigo had to obtain bankai and learn shyunpo to defeat byakuya. Which makes Byakuya stronger because of having ichigo to learn bankai means he has to get even stronger and skilled enough to defeat him.

i think it's really hard to actually tell aizens power level though since alot of his power could just be his soul slayer, people may think he's moving at the speed he is etc.. but it may just be him hypnotizing them into thinking he is moving that fast etc..

ok this is my "opinion" on whos the strongest....

ok....first off....i know that all the manga people will disagree that aizen is so low on this list but remember that this is based onm the anime....

now for my reasons backing this list.

yamamoto is on top because of the obvious reason that, if anyone was stronger, then they could've made a move to take him out by now(i mean.. after all thats happened...there is a big opportunity to strike)...and since no such action has happened, then i assume its cuz nobody can beat him...

soi fong is next because of her friendship with yoruichi...yoruichi was former capt. of soi fong's division and she must have been extremely fast to fill yoruichi's place...and since yoruichi is way faster than byakuya...we can assume soi fong is as well....

byakuya is next because he has an awesome bankai.....and he is 3rd because it is previously said that soi fong is assumed to be faster...in the episode where ichimaru and kenpachi approach him it looked as if byakuya wouldnt have a problem by killing kenpachi...

ichimaru is next because it was easily seen that he won against hitsugaya overall...and in the same episode where they confront byakuya...he easily wraps kenpachi and stops the fight from occuring...since byakuya starts the insults...it would imply ichimaru to stop byakuya, but he takes kenpachi away assuming that he cant catch byakuya...

now for kenpachi...in the ichimaru post...it says that ichimaru easily captures kenpachi easily, implying that he aint that fast....but he's at 5th cuz he can beat tousen and assuming he can beat komamura as well....

ok....kyouraku and ukitake are next because of the fact that they were the first captains in the 13 divisions.....kyouraku is ranked higher cuz of ukitake's illness.....and they're up at 6 and 7 cuz they are gonna put up a fight with yamamoto....a task no one below them on the list would be able to do....

hitsugaya hasnt seen much action in the anime so not a lot can be inferred about his strength...but he does fight against ichimaru, but it showed that he had trouble.....so thats why he's is low on the list....

now i rank aizen this low because he has absolutely "NO" action

komamura and tousen are next.....now they got beat by kenpachi so i dont think they're all that strong....but komamura may surprise us cuz he hasnt really fought kenpachi yet......

mayuri is next cuz....come on....he got beat by ishida....a ryoka.....i know ishida kicks ass, but to whup a captain that badly.....mayuri must be weak.....

and unohana brings up the end because she is a healer and not a fighter.....

You get out the main points that aizens shikai is just... really cheap lol but its impossible that there is NO way around it. Tousen...? im really bad with names, but the blind guy shows a reason that you just need to close your eyes during the fight... to someone with no battle experiance this might prove hard but i think the old guy is up to the task who afterall has more battle experiance than them all. Plus its a lil cocky to say that aizen can beat him no chance when 1. we havent seen and compared the ban kais and 2. we havent have the chance to see them fight for even 3 sec to make the match up.

simply closing your eyes won't do anything, because aizen has said if you've ever seen it even once your under the spell of it forever,and even if you know your under its spell, you can't do anything about it, from this its really hard to judge just how powerful aizen is, because your not sure if he's using his actualy power, or if he's just making himself appear really powerful with the power of his hypnosis, i'd assume he's still really strong, but i think alot of his ability comes from his soul slayer. i still think the strongest captain is kenpachi, once he learns bankai and shikai he will be unstoppable.

Yama-jii (Yamamoto Genryuusai) is definitly the most powerful over all, he has a huge spirit force (maybe not as big as Zaraki Kenpachi) but combined with his vast experience in combat (note the scars on his body) he is the strongest not to mention his insane powerful zanpakutou!! Ukitake and Kyouraku would be the next most powerful, Ukitake may be sickly but these to captains are far above the rest plus they are the only death gods to have dual weapons as a zanpakutou!! :headbang:

People need to stop overrating Kenpachi! He's not that great and he would lose to any high tier captain. Some people just dont want to let it go, and get this fact through their heads. People give him this worthless appraisal just because of his incredible reiatsu. Without knowing your swords name, thats nothing! You fight together with your sword and dont just use your brute strength. If he gets his Shi Kai and Ban Kai, then yes he will be one of the strongest captains. The only reason Ichigo won against him was because he borrowed Zangetsu's power and fought together with him. No self respecting high tier captain would lose to someone that doesnt even know their own swords name, no matter how strong they are. Kenpachi is just at too much of a disadvantage to be recognized as the strongest captain right now.

Uhh... Zaraki admits his defeat. So i have no idea what your talking about. Kenpachi didn't drag the fight... he injured ichigo at the point where ichigo was about to die and ichigo was sort of "revived" from zangetsu. So Zaraki didn't drag the fight. Zaraki also doesn't have his shikai and definitely not his bankai. Zaraki had too much pride in having so much stregnth to ask what his swords name was.

Also, about people who put Kenpachi above Gin, i would disagree... Remember at episode 20 when Kenpachi was arguing with Byakuya, and when they gonna fight, the next thing that happens was Kenpachi disappeared... and it was really as we can see that Gin wrapped Kenpachi up and jumped off to the rooftop opposite. Even Byakuya turns around only after it happened...

Uhh... Zaraki admits his defeat. So i have no idea what your talking about. Kenpachi didn't drag the fight... he injured ichigo at the point where ichigo was about to die and ichigo was sort of "revived" from zangetsu. So Zaraki didn't drag the fight. Zaraki also doesn't have his shikai and definitely not his bankai. Zaraki had too much pride in having so much stregnth to ask what his swords name was.
yea zaraki admits his defeat, but so does ichigo, actually ichigo says it first, ichigo admitting defeat + kenpachi admitting defeat = draw jeez learn your math dummy, it is obvious kenpachi dragged the fight out did you even read or watch the anime he talked about trying as hard as he could not to kill ichigo right away and when ichigo said he was bluffing he poked right through ichigo's zangetsu and impaled him, he obviously could have killed ichigo at any time if he wanted to, and he did ask what his swords name was in the end, even though it seems he's not sure if it's alive or not cause he was saying he thinks it has no seal on it, but i'm sure he's learned that lesson now from ichigo, next time you see kenpachi prepared to be served some humble pie because the great demon of soul society is gonna kick some ass!

where did i say kenpachi know's his shikai and bankai? o ok there i see it now, well i was saying he probably has it by now, because after his fight with ichigo he was screaming about wanting to be more powerful to beat ichigo so i'm sure he has been training none stop so that he can beat ichigo, and he was trying to communicate with his soul slayer at that time too, so i bet by now his sword has forgiven him and when kenpachi re appears at the LEAST he will have shikai probably one that is perminent like ichigo and maybe he'll have his bankai too, hey i just thought of a cool idea, what if kenpachi's bankai was perminent, that'd suit him so well he doesn't seem like the kind of guy who'd do that sissy soul slayer chant more than once and have his sword transform, he'd have his sword transformed into bankai all the time...sweet! :)

i think it's really hard to say if ukitake is strong, in fact there is no real proof that he is strong him or shunsui or yamamoto, i mean we didn't see any of them fight, well we did see shunsui fight chad but cmon, chad was like vice captain level. so there isn'r really any proof he's strong yet, yamamoto's sword was said to have a the strongest attack power among soul slayers but we still havn't seen him actually do anything, and even once we see ukitake fight his strength level will vary depending on how sick he is at the time...how do souls get sick anyway?...

For Zaraki to be able to hit Soi Fong he would have to be around the speed of Yoruichi the Goddess of Flash. Soi Fong vs Zaraki wouldn't be much of a fight once she uses her shikai and you have to take into account that she has an even more powerful bankai

if you ask me i would say that Mayuri is strong, he even planned on ways to escape during fights, i bet he has other battle plans too. His Ban Kai is really cheap too. For Gin's answer, i do not have much proof for that, so i do do not know how to answer you. For Soi Fong, she is strong, not only does she has her extremely powerful Shi Kai, her speed is insanely fast, she has Shunko, plus she still has a Ban Kai that is so much more powerful that her Shi Kai

but one thing i want to add on for the fight between Ichimar and Hitsugaya. Many said that Gin has to use underhand techniques to win, which is to attack Hinamori, but think, Gin doesn't gain anything from this, by killing Hinamori, he will only piss Hitsugaya more, causing him to use his Ban Kai, i think that Gin was just wanna piss Hitsugaya off by killing her then after that fight more seriously

Aizen hands-down, no question about it. He could probably take on all of the other captains single-handedly. He took down Komamura, Hitsugaya, and Ichigo in seconds, and that was with his bare zanpaku-to. If he ever bothered to unleash his shikai, he could instantly disable them all and kill them at his leisure. And let's not even speculate about what his bankai might do.

I really didn't like how they made Aizen so unbelievably godly. he is like 1000 times stronger then anything we've seen from the previous chapter. this is so cliche for a manga to introduce an unsespected character as the godly antagonist.

Tousen is only immune to Aizen's hypnosis. We've seen that Aizen has rediculous speed and power even without releasing his zanpaku-to, enough to slaughter Hitsugaya and his bankai in a split second. Also, I can't imagine an effective defense against the "Eternal Destruction" spells that Aizen has command of. With Aizen's speed, Tousen would be dead in less time than it takes to say "bankai".
