Welcome to elemental designs, this is a guild for designers, to be able to join this guild you have to have some exeperience with making sigs, avater etc. In here you can post your work to be rated and ask for reccomendations a comments, we will also try to help you by giving advice and we could provide stock.

Veterans:

In order to be ranked as a veterans, you have to be able to use a number of styles in your work and not just one, this is a requirement! As long as your desings are great, how long you have been "designing" wont really matter.

Anyway gonna try to do a sig tomorrow... trying to ink a drawing in Oc is currently driving me insane.. and no can't do it in Ps instead.. it's 2600*3900 px.. would kill my comp.. but bleh inking digitally takes time and well isin't that fun ya know? :P

we should be battling DB'z guild soon :D not sure though, the battle is probably gonna be like this, each of our members make theyre own sigs(if you dont want to enter you dont have to) and we choose 3 of the best sigs it battle with, then each of the "chosen ones" :p will be put against a member from the other guild, so its gonna be like a 3 stage battle, and whoever wins twice is the winner!

infinity sounds so much btter without the gfx part behind it. And to be honest 'Art' sounds more pro then GFX or DESIGN.

the leaders can be errrm Yama-jii's :]

Captain = pro
Vice-Captain = Intermediate
Shinigami = noob.

thats a simple and bleach orientated ranking system. and it doesnt make the leaders have to pick who is the best and whos 2nd etc.

I also suggested that we could errm some how get ourselfs each a guild "subforum" where maybe the Leaders could have mod rights and control only that part of the forum. it would attrach others to the forum and well it would have to be SPAM free.

well. there are lots of pros and cons to either having

a small number of groups, vaguely definded (such as only. noob, inter, pro)

or

a large number of groups, with lots of skill lvls (starter, noob, noob/inter, veteran, pro, godly. etc)

for the small groups

we can group everyone into the minimal grops and it is easily organised.
but
a certain person could be inter/veteran skill and be placed in inter and wins his inter battles gets moved to veteran and loses them all.

larger

its harder to organise. but you could appoint a "head" GFXer to manage the certain skill groups. this "status" isnt determind by skill, but maturity and responsibility.

and so forth.

what about this:
every time you make a sig, you send it in.
for every sig you sent in you get grades ( 1/10 )
you can send in a total of 5 sigs (start of with 3 as ani wants)
you take the average of all the grades you got and you will be put in a class.
captain 9 pts. or more
Vice-Captains 8 pts. or more
seated 7 pts. or more <--{these are just examples, as you guessed]
shinigami 4 pts. or more
n00b less than 4 pts.

Only your last 5 sigs count, so if you sent in 6 sigs, the first sig you sent in doesn't count anymore.
this is just an idea and isn't worked out very good.

I think the 1 one took me 1hour and second 1 probably 45mins and i used legend's tut for 2 one. Third 1 took me half an hour.

One thing I noted that goes for both dragon_slayer and blazedsouls, put a border on your sigs (simple 1px black is my fave :P), it makes them look more finnished. It's a matter of taste ofcourse but it helps alot in my opinion.. anyway good work with them ^^

So in no particular order (they're all different styles so order dosn't really matter.. but top one is my latest.. and cleanest.. almost sterile :P) here are my 3 favorite siggys

1. Bruce Springsteen siggy made fora music siggy challange on another forum, lyrics is from badlands, render is my own ;)

4.My first popoout, the background isn't overly brushed but I like the cleaner styles.

as for hitsugaya24, the BG is a bit simple but i really like how the radial blur is on top of the render makes it look cool :) but i think you shouldnt have blurred the text, just leave it as it is and add a shadow.

The text needs some work, it stands out too much. But don't take it too hard because in overall it's a killer sig ;)

Animalistic that is awsome sig I love the multicolouring. Well here I made another sig this a on which I spent the longest time the border gave a very hard time and would you guys plz rate it.

as you said the tekst isn't good.
I think you should just change the font and give it a color witch you can see better.

thx DS, ive come to a conclusion bout your sig making, nearly all of your sigs could be much better, but you add stuff to it that makes it look bad, your gaara sig couldve been much cooler bu just removing stuff, first add a normal 1px border and remove the red one and your sig looks a bit weird if you look closely there are some white spots on it, and did you bevel the text? it made it look worse, also i recommend that you go to www.gamerender.com or www.animerender.com or www.planetrenders.com to get better stock. im not trying to be mean to you DS but sayin "good job DS" will not really help you improve :p . and i agree with raku, you have improved from the last sig.

Oh I really like the Kakashi one.. but theres still one thing I'm missing (just personal preference I guess) a black 1px border. Even if you got a white border on there I just feela black one helps to kinda show where the siggy ends, especialyl on a bright forum like this cause the background of the forum (white) kinda melts into the white and bright parts of the siggy if you know what I mean?

But anyway great work *really likes the Kakashi one*

no prob.. I forgot to meantion (even if it probably goes without saying) it's mainly an issue with bright things.. like the Naruto one.. but also as I said it's a matter of personal taste.. I myself am in love with my 1 and 2px borders and use them even on black backgrounds :P.. I probably need to find an alternative for when I do dark siggys for dark forums.. cause then I aslo get the whole forum-floating-into-sig issue.. quite annoying.. but keep up the great work ^^

It seems imageshack degrades their images now. I recommend using sumpffuch's host, tinypic, photobucket etc.

ppl just like to change their styles, after this method becomes old they'll probably come up with a new style, this one isnt well know around here but a lot of ppl in gfx forums use them, i dont really like em but il probably use them sooner or later :p

Hmm it's defently good.. just two things, they're really not wrong (ofcourse not their your style!) I just want to say what I would have done instead. First it's the brushing on the stock.. I'm not to fond of that and I would have probably erased it or given it abit less opacity... and second the font, it's cool and everything, but I would have probably choosen a more classic, hand-written style for Byakuya cause that techy/sci-fi style don't really feel right with him.

But all in all a really nice sig, keep up the good work ^^



Oh and that marque tool-border, I don't know what it's about them but I'm with animalistic I don't really like them for some reason.. I prefer the 1px things... but yhea gfx fashion I guess :P

I think you should make the BG of your byakuya sig by yourself.
Just a blck BG, use legends tut for the flowers and make some white swords with an pink outer glow. I think that would certainly look good in comparison to the render.

sorry but its not really good, sprites or stock like that cant be place in a sig like other renders, they could be used but in a different way. the way you did it you left loads of empty spaces and the bg isnt that good either

Telemaster: The stock is really not blended well. It seems that you've just set the opacity lower.

and id like to ask you something,
how do you put those lines sideways like that if you look closely theres lines that goes left to right.

oh the scan lines?
Animalistic(in his tutorial thread)
to put in scanlines create a new document with the size 3x3 pixels, then zoom in to the maximum because its too small, now create a new layer and grab the pencil tool (not the pen tool!) if you cant find it the right click on the brush tool and you will find it, now make a diagonal line using the pencil tool (use any colour you like but its usually black or white) , after that set the BG to transperant, you do this by clicking on the box with the little eye which is beside the BG layer on the layer palette. after than go to edit>define pattern and name it wut you like, now you have created scanlines!! to insert them into you sig, make a new layer and got to edit>fill then choose patterns and choose the pattern you just created and press ok. the scanlines will be too strong so it better if you set its layer to overlay or soft light.
DO NOT FORGET TO SET THE BG TO TRANSPERANT WHEN CREATING THE SCANLINES!
