Indeed, I was planning the first battle as a newbie battle, then 2nd battle for the regulars, then last battle for the advance. But I guess animal wants to pick best 3 sigs. I'll most likely choose randomly so people can improve :)

png is used mostly for pop outs where you have to have that transparent background around the character that's outside the sig..jpg is fine for most other sigs and graphicsworks.

Here's your file type guide:

.jpg - Usually for regular sigs, not good for sigs with transparent parts.
.gif - For animated sigs, and also used to lower down the size. Good choice for animated sigs, and can be transparent, but makes it look a bit..meh
.png - perfect for tranparent sigs, but is big in size.

itsovernow, try blending or use Lunar's gausian blur technique. The stock doesn't look good unless it's blended. The third one is the best. The first one has the stock in light color, but the bg is dark. Blend :/

First one has a big chunk of empty space. Try putting your name in there or something

Azn-chan: Pretty cool, but the scan lines seem to be darkening the bg too much, and it makes your bright stock seem out of place, try lowering the ocapacity.

either that, or it's supposed to be dark and the scanlines aren't doing anything >_>

thnx much!.. i added a couple of purp/magenta color balance with cloud rendered on the adjustment layer.. is y its so pinkish..is the type font and blending ok? maybe ill make one of em purple.. and ill try to move my name around.

Magesha, try to blend your stock, it has this weird blue light and it makes it look bad. Don't do the scanlines, they kinda spoil the picture. And I personally like a brushed BG better.

Yes it is. There is no general tut on cleaning IMO. you just have to experiment with filters. Try Duplicating the layer then try smart blur, sharpen, noise-->median and change the layer's blending mode.

On the render Layer, go to Image>Adjustments>Match Colour
Set source as your current doc, and layers as Merged.
Then play around with the sliders till the render matches the B/G better, but isn't stupidly faded out.

yea i tried a unsaturated render first but didnt quite like it.. so back to colored render, when i try to color match my reder gets all kinds of wierd colors.. dunno y. shd i match to a particular layer (if so, my bg is all grey and i have some color adj layers on top).. if i try using merged, it gets all wierd colors.. ill try again thou, thnx.

w00w, the last is superb! I espacially like how you put your name on that hair ribbon and the brushing around the stock. 1st and 2nd have wierd colors,
1st is probably fault of the stock itself. I don't like the Gantz thing you put over it. 2nd: the green brushing around her eyes looks wierd, I dunt really like it. Overall the 1st and 2nd are good, just that things I said above.
3rd: wierd but cool, bit blurry and all you see is a piece of her face and her torso. Maybe you should lower it so that you can see the face too.
4th: B-E-autifull!

Magesha: it's better than your second :D, still your first is best. I don't think the green fits the render but the sig is nice anyway.

Magesha: thats what happens if your b/g is totally diff to the stock in the first place. Try colouring it with a gradient of 2 colours lifted from the stock with colour picker, or ditto but with a render of clouds, or by
on render layer: duplicate layer; filter>blur>motion blur
Set to between 70 and 150 pix to your taste.
Duplicate this new blurred layer a lot and move them around to create a background.
Merge them all at the end for convenience. Tjat way, you will have a simple b/g that fits the stock. Animalistic has even made some advanced sigs using this technique.

Magesha - as for the hinata one..if you're going to restart it..i'd say show more of the stock. its a good stock and to watch that the text doesn't take over the sig(just my opinion really i feel weird giving tips ^^) and for the other one, err maybe a bit more color? for some reason it feels a little monotone with the blueish theme...i'd use hue and make the colors a little dull, then try setting up a new adjustment layer color balance and then do a gradient overlay and maybe killing the border? i'd play around with that. *shrug* (reading back i think someone mentioned the gradient overlay)

heh its not really transparent..its just bright, it naturally went together with adjustment layer - color balance. btw. you know of animestocks.com? they have some nice naruto stocks. they take screenies of every episode and also sort them to each character. i usually go there first before i google stocks. you have to sign up..but thats easy you don't have to do anything besides that

Wow, this one is even better.. what brushes do u use? love the brushing around the render.. but the red thingy on sword is weird..
yea i got the screenshot from animestock, i think but i suck at extraction.. my yoruichi extraction came out alright, but this one had a wierd blue light in the middle of her hair like a reflection, so was trouble extracting.. anyways found new stock for that.. gonna make it soon.

a bunch of fractual brushes from deviant and what my friend made. the red on the sword came with the stock yea i admit it sticks out a bit. i got a bit lazy to actually do something about it hehe. that new mgs 4 is nice work! its A LOT better than the previous

well it's actually made for cinematic actions and 3d images. BUt some people like myself use them for sigs. I'm new to the whole thing and know what MOST of the buttons do :P I had a cool tut so it helped me out a lot.

Nice sig Magesha but there's 2 things about it. 1 : The render aint the best quality =/ kicks the sig down a bit

and 2 : You animation on text runs too fast, hard to read

hey octogon nice bg ne.. maybe u shd trying giving it some depth.. it looks like a single brushed layer, imo.. i had a similar render but it was colored to make gaara look like a girl hehehe.. where did u get this one.. cud i have that render plz.. u can try a blasted outline or like some dots (imuza style) or use a reflection or two or three text layers with varying font size or just different position to have like a motion effect.. hehe just some idead i pulled off my head.. dunno what will suit you
